"So why is she laughing? I'm so confused."
Layton sat on her other side to watch the show. "That girl of ours is a handful. You'd better watch out, or you are going to end up in that same position."
"But she was just playing. Why is he punishing her?" Savannah asked.
"He's not," Layton said, leaning back on his paint covered elbows. "He's just playing."
"But she keeps yelling that it hurts."
"I'm sure it does, but she's also laughing. We don't punish our Little for being herself, and play spanking is something that we all like to do. May also enjoys play spanking as a big girl. It can be very sensual."
Savannah simply stared in amazement.
"Ow! She bit me!" Caine yelped.
"You know what that means," Layton called out, crossing his ankles and flashing a smile.
"Nononono!" May protested as Caine yanked the elastic waist of her shorts down to the middle of her thighs, exposing a pair of dark blue bikini panties decorated with Ninja Turtles. "Yeow!"
"You're not going to be able to see how red she's getting with all that paint you're leaving on her ass," Layton shouted over the fuss.
"I'll be good! Ow! I'm sorry! Daddy!" May squealed.
"That looks like he's spanking her for real," Ian observed.
"He certainly is. Biting is a no-no. Remember that, Miss Savannah," Layton teased.
"I'm already tired of my jaw being shut. When this thing is off, I am going to bite everything and everyone I can," she promised. "That means you, Layton."
"It's Uncle Layton to you, little girl. Go for it and watch what happens," he said lazily.
Caine paused and shook his hand out. "I think you're right. She is getting a leather butt. I need a switch—"
"No!" May shouted, twisting away and scrambling to her feet. Her shorts lay in a puddle on the ground as she started backing towards the swimming pool. "No switches!" she shouted before doing a cannonball into the water.
"We'll see about that," Caine announced, running and leaping after her.
"I guess I should join them. Watch out, this is a splash zone," Layton warned the couple. He ran to the pool and dove into an enormous belly flop, sending water flying everywhere.
"Don't get her casts wet, you big moron," Caine scolded, hiking May onto his shoulders.
"Ow," Savannah moaned, wincing painfully. "It hurts to breathe. I think I popped a stitch, but I can't stop laughing."
"Not possible, but let me help you," Ian said, gently covering the dressings under her left ribcage with his big hand and applying pressure. "How's that?"
"It helps, thanks." She turned her attention from the pool. "Is that what you want to do with me?" she asked quietly.
"Truthfully, I wasn't sure until I saw this. She made you laugh, Vanna. You're covered with paint and you're laughing. If this is even a little bit of what their lifestyle is about, then yes, I want it. What about you?"
"I'm not too sure about the spanking part. I don't think I would go for that."
"It's part of the package. Don't you want some adventure in your life, honey? This is something we can learn together and make special. I'm tired of seeing you in pain, and I think this dynamic will help you be free," Ian said.
"And what about you?"
"I think it will help me regain my manhood. These last three years have really stripped me of who I used to be," he said gently. "I want to like myself again."
"I'm sorry," Savannah said softly. "It's my fault."
"It's both our responsibility. But we were influenced by negative forces. This is the first time you've been sober and able to have a decent conversation with me."
"My father has also tried to turn us against each other. He succeeded several times, in fact."
Ian kissed her cheek. "So, are you ready to do this?"
Savannah looked back at the pool, where the two large men were wiping paint off of May's face with Layton's tee shirt. May wrinkled her nose as Caine held her jaw firmly in his hand to keep her still, and then stuck out her tongue.
"Yeah, let's do this," Savannah said. "But I have one condition."
"Oh, really?"
"Yes. No butt plugs."
"Too late. We were given a brand new set this morning as a housewarming gift. Don't forget to thank them, either," Ian said.
Savannah just moaned.
Chapter 8
"I think we overdid the activity today," Caine said gently, wiping the tears from Savannah's eyes. "Do you want an injection, or the suppository?"
"I don't care, it hurts," she whimpered. "Just make it stop."
"What hurts, Vanna?" May asked, placing her hand on the young woman's thigh.
"Everything. My tummy, neck, arms, back… everything."
"Her pain medication wore off and she had a lot of movement today that her poor little body wasn't ready for," Caine explained, lifting a syringe to the light to measure the Dilaudid. "No fighting me this time?"
"No, sir," she promised, stifling a yelp as he rolled her gently to her side.
"I hate shots," May said, wrinkling her nose as she leaned down close her new friend's face. "Daddy is majorly good at them, though. They don't really hurt."
"There you go, honey bun," Caine said, putting a band aid on her hip.
"Are you done already?" Savannah asked with surprise.
"I sure am. That wasn't bad now, was it?" Caine asked.
"You are not done, Daddy. You didn't kiss and make all better," May scolded. "Owies don't heal on their own, you know."
"I beg your pardon, Miss May. You are absolutely correct," Caine said, planting a kiss on the injection site. "Better now?"
"Yes, thank you." Savannah offered a tiny smile through her tears.
"Are you hungry? Your daddy has some yummy shakes in the fridge for you, and May brought ice cream," Caine said.
"No, just a little thirsty. The incision really hurts bad."
"I'll get you some water and then we'll take a look, okay? That's a good girl," Caine said gently, kissing her forehead. "May? Please go and ask Uncle Ian to come in here and sit with Savannah for a bit, and then help Uncle Layton with getting lunch together."
"Yes, Daddy."
Ian walked in as Caine was holding a straw to Savannah's mouth. "Is she okay?"
"She wants some cuddles. She overdid it this morning. I'm sorry, we should have paced the activities a little better."
"Did it hurt her?" Ian looked worried as he took the bottle from Caine and urged Savannah to drink.
"No, she just stretched some of these poor inactive muscles and pulled at her wound. All that laughing for her was like taking a horse for a run when you haven't been in the saddle for several months. I gave her an injection to take the edge off, and then we'll go back to the regular medication routine."
"My poor dumpling," Ian said softly. "Were you a good girl for the doctor?"
"Yes. I didn't fight or complain," she said with a hint of pride.
"She was perfect. Is the shot starting to work, honey? Good, let me check your dressings."
"How long am I going to be like this?" Savannah asked, grimacing as he gently peeled away the layers of gauze and cleansed the wound.
"Well, it depends on how fast your body wants to mend. Your incision looks good and is closing up nicely, and your bruises are finally starting to resolve. This type of fracture to your jaw can take four to six weeks to heal, and then we'll remove the wires and see how it looks. The orthopedic surgeon said that it will take about the same amount of time for your wrists. Once your casts are off, we'll see if you need physical therapy," Caine explained.
"Oh," she said, looking sad.
"Cheer up. It will go by quickly, and you'll have all of us to keep you company."
"May, too?"
"Absolutely. Can I get you anything?"
"No thank you, Caine." She struggled against a yawn as her eyes grew heavy. "Tell Uncle Layton I'm sorry."
"Uncle Layton?"
"Uh-huh,
he told me that I had to call him that."
The man grinned as Ian did a little happy dance. "Well, then I want you to call me Uncle Caine. Now, what are you sorry about?"
"I'm sorry I dumped the Slurpee on his lap. It wasn't nice of me…"
"Let her sleep," Caine said quietly, standing up and packing his medical bag. "She's going to be fine. What was with the dance?" he asked Ian.
"It's like she's accepted this for real! Okay, I'm an idiot, but it was great to hear her say that."
"Not an idiot." Caine laughed, smacking him between the shoulders. "Just a man whose hope has returned. Did she say anything about this morning?"
"Yes, she said wants what May has. Except for the spankings, of course." Ian presented a large, boyish smile. "I told her 'too bad.' I'm sure she will want to negotiate that factor eventually."
"They all do. Submissives are odd creatures, my friend. They love to act up, hate the consequences, and then feel deprived when the consequences are absent. As Layton says, spankings are to this lifestyle like what frosting is to cupcakes. I'm warning you, though. If you're an ass man, this will be very addictive."
"I am so an ass man. Come on, you saw the beauty that my girl sports," Ian said.
"It is lovely and so pale. Those are the bottoms that always turn a nice shade of pink."
"Speaking of bottoms, how's your hand?" Ian teased.
"I'm glad you think it's funny, but I'm going to have to toughen up my palm some. I've always tried to keep my hands soft for my patients, but I can't be wimping out on my bratty wife when she deserves some old-fashioned discipline."
"Are you talking about me?" May asked, walking towards them
"We were. I was just explaining to Ian that I'm going to be carrying a paddle with me everywhere from now on."
"No! No paddles. Your hand works just fine," May protested.
"It used to be effective until you toughened up. Yep, I've gotta get me a nice, thick paddle that fits in my back pocket," Caine said.
"I can make you one," Ian offered.
"No! Uncle Ian, don't you dare. I know where you live," May hinted a threat.
"Oh yeah?" Ian sidled up to her and looked down with a stern expression. "What do you plan to do about it?"
"Um…" She wrinkled her nose and glanced at Caine. "He's giving me the stink eye, Daddy. Make him stop."
"Now, why would I do that? Get sassy and you'll pay the piper." Caine chuckled.
"It's not fair."
"Nope, it never is. Is lunch ready?" Caine asked, tucking her under his arm and flicking her pouting bottom lip with his finger.
"Almost. He's grilling cow patties."
"I beg your pardon?" Ian choked out. "That's cow sh—"
"It's what she calls burgers to tease Layton. You are in a mood today, aren't you? Go bring me the brush from the glove compartment," Caine said.
May's face paled. "I didn't do it!"
"Hmm, then why are you suddenly looking so guilty? I just want to brush your hair before it gets too tangled." Caine dismissed her with a quick swat and then walked with Ian to the covered patio. "Get this, Layton! Ian gave May the stink eye and she folded."
"He did? I'm so proud!" Layton announced with an exaggerated gesture of holding his right hand over his heart. "There's hope for you yet!"
"I'm a quick study. Savannah wanted me to tell you that she's sorry for the Slurpee incident," Ian said.
"Seriously? That was like ten years ago! Silly girl. How's she holding up, and where is May?" Layton asked.
"Savannah is sleeping and May is bringing me the hairbrush from the truck. Judging by the amount of time she's taking, I'm guessing she doesn't believe that I just want to brush her hair," Caine said.
"Flip the burgers and I'll go check on her," Layton offered, handing Caine the spatula.
***
"Carlton Hardy? Is that you?"
"Layton! It's good to see you. It's been a while," Carlton said, giving the man a giant bear hug. "How are you doing?"
"Very well, thanks. The safe house cases have been keeping me busy."
"Too busy. He's always working," May complained.
The industrialist grinned as he looked down at her. "You know that Uncle Layton has an important job to do. Besides helping all those girls, he needs to earn money to buy you Ninja Turtles."
"Go bring that hairbrush to Daddy and stop pouting," Layton ordered, kissing May on the forehead. "How's business been doing? I can't believe how many houses you've put up here. The community looks incredible."
"We have offers from all over the world from families that have heard of Little Lake Bridgeport," Carlton said proudly. "I'm limiting outsiders right now, though. I want the community to remain primarily for the Marshall Home Littles. Did you guys decide to move in?"
"No, we have an old friend of ours staying here. His wife was in an accident and he's caring for her. We've just introduced them to the lifestyle," Layton explained.
"May I meet them? You know I always like to lend a helping hand to newbies."
"Sure, come on in. The burgers are almost done, so you can join us."
"Burgers? Maybelle said you were making cow patties! Caine, come get a hug," Carlton demanded, his voice echoing through the yard.
"Don't break my back!" Caine grumbled as the enormous man crushed him in an affectionate embrace.
"I know you! Football, Texas State, defensive end, right?" Ian said, shaking the man's hand. "We met a few years back at a rodeo when your team came to watch. They called out for a steer wrestler and you volunteered. I'm Ian Channing."
"Oh yeah! The damn steer kicked my ass and I had to take crap from the team for the rest of the season. Weren't you that crazy ass bull rider who took the Red Eye down? Are you still competing?" Carlton asked, sitting down beside Caine on a long wooden bench next to the table.
"Ooh, Uncle Carlton said a bad word," May piped in, and was quickly hushed by Caine.
"Not lately. Family responsibilities, combined with self-preservation, have limited my time in the arena," Ian said.
"Ian, Carlton is the founder, designer and primary stock holder of Lake Bridgeport. He lives just down the street, in the little blue Victorian house with the white shutters," Caine offered, pulling May into his lap to brush out her hair. "All of these houses are his artwork."
"Really? I'm impressed. I've worked high-end construction for years and can tell real quality. I still can't get over these guys lending me their house. I don't know what I would have done without their help," Ian said.
"These boys are the best. Without them, none of this would exist." Carlton grinned. "So, I hear that you're new to the dynamic."
"Yes, just scratching the surface. How about you?"
"I've been a Daddy Dom ever since I can remember. Even as a little boy, I bossed the girls around, took them by the hand, kissed their boo-boos and threatened to spank them. I'm still looking for the right one to settle down with, though. It's hard to find a natural APer who wants to live it full-time. I was actually looking at one of the new girls at the Marshall house. Her name is Vivian."
"No! You don't want her, Uncle Carlton. She's a nasty-ass bitch."
"Maybelle Corrine!" both Caine and Layton reprimanded.
"What makes you say that?" Carlton asked softly, cupping her cheek.
"She's just really mean to everybody," May said, her eyes tearing up as she looked at the tiled floor.
"How is she mean, baby? Come sit and talk to me." Carlton held his big arms out for her. After Caine urged her forward, May was pulled up onto the man's lap, where he bounced her on his knee. "I do want to hear your opinion. Are you crying because you were trying to look out after me and you got hollered at?"
The girl nodded. "I don't like being yelled at. It hurts my feelings."
"Well, to be fair, calling people names isn't very nice, either. Daddy and Uncle Layton are responsible for making you see the difference between right and wrong. Now talk to me."
"She's j
ust really snotty. She yells at people, takes their things, and then threatens to beat them up if anyone snitches," May said.
"Has she done this to you?" Layton asked with concern.
May shook her head. "She won't because she knows that I belong to you, and she doesn't want to get kicked out."
"Hmm, it sounds like I need to look into this. Does Auntie Sri know?" Carlton asked.
"No, sir. I was going to tell her, but the other girls were afraid that they would be blamed."
"I see. Well, no one wants anyone mean around them, do they? But sometimes we have to see what is making them mean and try to help them. Would it be okay if I did that?"
"If you wanna," May grumbled. "I don't want her to be my cousin. If she's with you then she'll think she's the boss of everybody 'coz you're a CEO."
"I'm a daddy first, babygirl. May I ask you a question?" Carlton said.
"Uh-huh."
"Why do you have paint in your ear? Come to think of it, why are the three of you wet?"
"It's a long story," Layton said, snapping his fingers for May. She wiggled off Carlton's lap and stood before him, hanging her head. He lifted her chin and gave her a warm kiss on her pink lips. "I love you. No more name calling, okay? It's insulting."
"Yes, sir. Uncle Layton?"
"What, baby doll?"
"What constitutes name calling? If the description is accurate or appropriate, how is it considered an insult rather than an observation?"
Carlton released a loud roar of laughter. "The girl is a born attorney! Excellent loophole, my dear. So, what's your rebuttal, Counselor Cranky Pants?"
"Bite me." Layton scowled.
"Love youuu," May sang into his ear.
Chapter 9
"Are you ready? Huh? Are you ready?" May asked the following Saturday as they prepared to visit Ian and Savannah.
"In five more minutes. Do you have your movies?" Caine asked, loading the food into a box.
"Yep. Where's Layton?"
"He's loading the truck. By the way, we're going to go to the airport after our visit."
"We are?"
"Yes, ma'am. Layton wanted to go back to San Antonio and have some family time now that we know Savannah and Ian are holding their own. Ow!" Caine winced at her excited, high-pitched squeal. "Can you carry this outside for me? It shouldn't be too heavy."
