  The City of Crime

A bang is heard on the outside of Ms. Bake’s house. She runs across the living room towards the door to see what was going down. She slowly opens the door to confirm. She realizes blood on the outside of the door and fear cascades her. The unfathomable darkness covers the woods right after the fence of her compound. She realizes a figure moving in the woods. The doted blood on the steps towards her door-step confirms the impending danger that is yet to rock her evening. Abruptly, the security light is hit from nowhere and the whole place on the outside is dimly lit. Bake scrambles back in to the house and firmly closes the door.

Someone emerges in from the darkness, covered in a black “hood,” holding an axe in her hand. She wore a blue jeans and black rubber shoes. The axe is red with blood, indicating that it has recently taken the life of something living. Bake realizes that her dog is missing. The person walks slowly towards the house and an idea creeps into Bake’s mind. She runs around closing one window after the other while the person on the outside runs aggressively to enter into the house. At some point, Bake jumps over the shelves in her library, unconditionally kicking all her books to close the window shortly before the person on the outside frantically attempts to open it. The situation is tensed.

On the other side, Ferran city is located in the busy environs of Ferran Ranges. The busy lifestyle of this place has instigated atrocities in the city that have made innocent soul succumb to the perils. Business has bloomed everywhere; drug smuggling, government conspiracy, real estate etc. This is the city where sex business has escalated and people shop for it in almost every corner. Kelly, Mary’s husband, is one of the most successful business people is operating a business unit in O-tone towers. Kelly has companies that deal in minerals and the mining processes. He struck a deal with the government to explore the drilling of gold in South Leland, a neighboring county. However, the process is filled with conspiracy as the forces from the ministry of natural resources make the process difficult.

Tonny Platta, the minister for natural resources wants a wire transfer of $80M US dollars in order to complete the tender. Kelly, with his subordinates facilitates the process of transferring the money and the tender is awarded to his company. He spends a lot of time in the city figuring how his business will acquire more funds to facilitate the process of mining. It is late night in the city and Kelly is not home. His wife, Mary, is angry because her husband has not been going home for the past three months. She suspects that the husband is cheating on her with his secretary Ms. Bake. However, she has no proof that the two are having intimate relationships. She sets out to investigate the case.

Kelly’s favorite spot is Sun Drops Club which he finds so entertaining that he never misses it after a day of heavy work and turmoil. He hangs out with beautiful ladies of all kinds. He dances with them, sometimes invites them into secluded areas for some private time. He loves this place because it is near the working place and of course, the company of the beautiful ladies keeps him yearning for more. After leaving the office, he walks into the car gently, loosens his tie as he grabs the coat tightly on his shoulders. He sits in his car and receives a peculiar feeling he has never had. Before he could turn, someone strangled him from the back sit and muttered,

“You have no idea what you have gotten yourself into. Black Space has been watching you.”

The man behind Kelly pulled out a short gun and pressed it against Kelly’s neck.

“You have no chance remaining. You should have seen this coming,” said the guy.

Immediately, some two other men arrived from outside laden with cans containing petroleum fuel and poured it all around the car. The one inside ordered Kelly to ignite the engine. After that, the guy alighted and ordered Kelly to drive otherwise he would be shot. The only way he could survive was to drive at a high speed. Before he could do that, the one of the three men struck a match stick and threw it on the car. Kelly attempts to drive off but the fire is all over. A shocking scene is created as a car raging on fire speeds down the street of Ferran City.

Upon making sure he was out of sight of the bandits, Kelly plans to stop the car so that he can save his life. He tries to break but in vain. He hits other cars parked along the alley and once or twice, he swerves and losses control. The inside is getting hotter the air is limited. He resolves to jump before the car detonates. He kicks the door and jumps in the road to save his life. Shortly, his car rolls over other vehicle and bursts into flames. He exclaims and runs in fear. He did not want the police to question him because that would mean his end. Powerful forces were working against him that could take him down if he decided to open his mouth.

Kelly remembers the warning he received from a fellow business tycoon who wanted him to tread lightly in the business world. He was not supposed to take all the business contracts that came his way or else everyone close to him would perish, including him. This threatened him and he had to call his wife. He attempted to call her but she did not pick. He tried to call the home telephone of the secretary, Ms. Bake, who was attacked on the same night. When Bake spoke, she was tensed and could not be understood. Before she could explain what was going on, her telecommunication line was disconnected. She ran to her mobile phone but abruptly, the window was broken. She had to hide and stop any movements.

The door was blown open and the lady with an axe entered. She searched the living room and the sitting room but Bake was not around. Silence fell in the rum as she stood still to have a sense of a moving muscle. Her heart was pounding loud. Baked was in the kitchen, she crawled down so that she could make for the back door stealthily. Unfortunately, she touched some utensils which produced a loud annoying sound that gave the signal to the armed lady where she was. Before she could stand up, a heavy knock fell on her head as she helplessly fell down. The armed lady reached for her and made an attempt to knock her. Bake retaliates by landing a heavy kick on her thighs. Both fall on opposite directions as the axe falls out of the attacker’s hands.

While attempting to rise, Bake picks a pan and knocks the intruder who falls down again. She runs for the door in a bid to save her skin. The lady with the axe picks a kitchen dagger and hurls it towards the helpless lady. This time, it catches her in the ribs and she falls down in seething pain. Her escape was unwarranted. The lady comes with a dagger and the axe. She grabs Ms. Bake and stabs her several times. She then uses the axe to smash her body parts apart and kills her in cold blood. After completing the mission, she walks slowly to the tap and washes her hands. The expression on her face is one that shows a person who has achieved something great that they yearned for.

The lady made a call and confirmed that threat eliminated. Kelly on the other side notices that something is wrong and rushes to so stead a car so that he could reach Bake’s place as soon as possible. He grabs the wheel and drives roughly towards north. He arrived at Bake’s place only to find her in body in pieces lying lifelessly. He was shocked and cried with deep rage. He remembered once again the warning he received that aimed to destroyed anyone close to him. The next target would be his wife. How stupid of him to run to friend and forget his own family. He rushes back into the car as he tries to make the calls back home. The wife did not rece
ive the call.

Kelly starts crying and mumbles things that cannot be understood. He drives on the wrong lane and escapes collision with other vehicle at very small ranges. He is afraid of losing the ones he loved. When he arrives home, he finds his wife Mary sitting in one corner of the house sobbing immensely. She was looking troubled and stressed. She cried saying,

“Am sorry Kelly, they made me do it.”

“It is okay honey, is going to be alright,” Kelly replied.

It downed on Kelly that his wife was forced to kill a close ally and an employee of Kelly’s company. They had placed the wife under a tricky position that aimed to let her choose between losing both her baby and her husband or execute the woman who she thought was cheating with her husband. It downed on Kelly that her woman chose them over Bake.

Kelly was furious that Black Space had gone way too far to include his wife in their miss understanding. Kelly vowed to revenge and eliminate the threat. This time, he will encounter the enemy using all means and any angles available. He hires two mercenaries to invade the home of his enemy and to get done with the problem. The mercenaries are given different arsenal including guns, machetes, and detonators, among others. Black Space was not a foreign phenomenon. It was an organization started by Marks Collonel seeking to control the business in the town. The organization had grown big and it referred to this area as their territory. The territory was run by bandits who could kill anyone with the influence to rise against them. They did not care about life or respect for human dignity.

Kelly brushed shoulders with the leader of this group when he started getting more business opportunities than they could he was rising very first. One day they sent him some assassins but he kills them all and packs their heads to return them to their bosses. This did not end there because for a second time, they send him hired mercenaries but kills them and packs their heads in a gift box and sends them back to their bosses. This declared war and there was need to prepare adequately before things got out of hands. He did not know that the organization had immense support from one side of the government. Perhaps, he should have treaded lightly.

Kelly receives information that the minister, Tonny Platta, was asked by one of the leaders of the government to stop dealing with Kelly or he will be in danger. Kelly was not a person to be brought down by the words of villains. He would fight to his level best in order to ensure that he leads a better life free from threats. He knew a favorite spot of his enemy Marks Collonel which was in a restaurant in town. He was sure that when Collonel had done something tragic, he would be parting with girls in semi-nude or even completely nude when in their private lounge. He went straight into Lexoz restaurant and bar side by side with his mercenaries. He knew that Collonel owned the place.

The three entered as peaceful people. They slowly moved through the crowed which was engulfed in the frenzy and confusion of the music. Kelly and the partners were full of rage and energy to destroy whatever came in their way. As he reached for the red door, he knew his target was inside. At the entrance, there were three personal security guys for Collonel. Kelly’s mercenaries took them using the machetes within a very short time and banged the door open. Collonel was with four women having a good time.

“For what! She was innocent. You didn’t have to come after her” said Kelly.

“The boss is coming for you,” retorted Collenel.

“I am ready; he will go down just like you. That one I promise you,” said Kelly.

Before both could finish exchanging words, the women around Collonel fished out shot guns and started firing towards the three. Random fires in the room took the lives of Collonel and his girls. Kelly vowed to continue with the revenge.

  A Lover’s Betrayal

The cold morning hours of New York City compels Mark to take a warm cup of coffee. He wakes up only to find the unfavorable weather smuggling the streets. His room in the shaggy apartments is a victim. Marks thoughts are streaming through his head. Shall he find a taxi to go to school and afford to have supper? He is running short of his coins, and something should be sacrificed to make both ends meet. “How shall I get to college at this time?” He thinks loudly with a dull face. His clothes have rugged marks, no ironing. The poor guy is in for trouble soon. Being late for college classes isn’t a joke.

An idea comes in his mind worth of solving his impending challenge. It's Rodgers. Mark rushes to his table and makes a call. “Hello, Rodgers?” He talks to his friend Rodgers, who has a car and has been taking his to school in some occasions such as this one.

Rodgers responds back. “Hello, my friend. Hopes you are doing well. I’m here in the streets taking a cup of tea in one of the inns.”

“I’m here in my room. Will you kindly afford to come and offer me a ride to college? I’m short of cash to get a tax and get supper for today, you know!”

The conversation doesn’t end well. Mark hears a police siren through the phone. Rodgers may be having trouble. The police? What a dangerous morning! On the other side, Mark cuts the phone conversation and looks at the direction the siren is coming from. The police arrive and start to shoot in the air. A wanted armed robber for the New York Police is in the midst. People are running for their lives as the shootout intensifies between the police and two individuals. One of them is on the list of hardcore wanted criminals.

Mark on his side knows that what has forced Rodgers to end the conversation may be life threatening. How shall he wait for somebody he isn’t sure of. He makes a decision. “I must just rush to school by foot.”

He takes his books after wearing his tattered clothes. At the doorstep, he remembers his body oil. “My face looks bad.” He comes back and tries to work on his face. It must be shiny. He then takes off by running to school. He is just of his kind. His poverty reflective clothing is enough to show how he is struggling. Being a military drop out, he can afford to run to school.

Finally, Mark is at his college from where he pursues a Bachelor degree course in Engineering. His performance has made him an outstanding figure in class. Any lecture that misses him during a lesson has to ask. He arrives late when the lesson is on. He flamboyantly walks in past the lecturer to his empty seat. The whole class roars. The lecturer grins and the lesson continues. “Why is he late, and where is he coming from at this time?” One of the students murmurs.

After the lesson, his lecturer calls him. They match out of class as if they are colleagues. Of course, they are. They are engineers. One if a teacher and the other one is a learner. After a short distance, the two stand at the pavement. Initially, Mark looks 'nerved', trying to tell the lecturer what we may think to be the reasons for arriving late for the lesson. After some time, the two laugh. What can they be discussing? A female unmarried lecturer and her male student. They part ways as they grin with happy faces.

In the evening before leaving college for home, Mark meets Jane, his fiancée. Jane looks composed. She leans on her newly bought car. Her parents offered her this present after she had performed well to become the best student in her fine arts class. The two stare into each other’s eye for some second. Love is something of its kind. A hug follows. The two stay in a united position before retracting.

They start making a conversation in a low tone. Their standing position and proximity to each other reveals why they will marry soon. Their faces are just glaring. Jane lifts one of her legs up, blushes and grins a little. Mark is composed looking directly into his lover’s eyes. “I love you dear. You are the reason I was manufactured.” Jane tells the happy Mark. She then collapses in the strong arms of her fiancée and all the two looks confused. They are in the world of their own. They stay in the same position before Mark holds her upright and they hold each other’s waist. A conversation disrupted with short kissing intervals continues.

"Hi, my friends." What a disruption! Rodgers greets the love-weakened duo. They compose themselves faster and then respond to their friend’s greetings. Mark can’t
miss a ride to his home. Both his friend and fiancée have cars.

The three enters a conversation. Mark inquires what could have happened during the morning phone conversation. Mark describes the incidence and what happened between the police and the hardcore criminals. “One of them ran away. But I think he had a bullet injury. These people are dangerous.”

The conversation continues until when Jane starts lamenting. “You guys, it’s getting late. Why can’t you suspend your story for tomorrow please.” On getting this, they arrange to meet the following day to have a good moment for relaxing and talking.

Jane jumps into her car and opens the other door. As if they had made an agreement, Mark follows her fiancée, enters the car and bangs the car door. Rodgers is left standing. He laughs and goes on to enter his car. The two lovers have their car ignited. They take off as a conversation ensues.

“Today you will spend a night with me here,” Mark tells his fiancée after getting to his house. Jane looks a bit reluctant to welcome her lover’s idea.

“No, I need to go back to my room. We shall arrange for that.”

Mark continues to insist. He moves close to her, looking directly into her eyes. He holds Jane at the waist. She calmly relaxes for him to take over. They start talking in low soft tones. She looks weak in his arms.

Mark’s house looks fresh with everything arranged in the right order. Did he know that his lover was coming in the evening? Her resistance not to keep her fiancée company for the night looks wearing out. She embraces his bold move of a real man. The house door is open, allowing a breeze to hit the duo. Her stilettos have allowed her mouth be at a horizontal level to Mark's. She regularly lifts her leg up to coil it along the tall statured man. But is she effortless? Her limb gradually drops. She must be on another planet. The two enters a kissing arena. Kisses drop one after the other. Mark gains control of their activities.
