married I'd be jealous. “
“Come ladies it's time for Kat to get married, don't worry everything will work out fine,
just trust Ken he will not only be your husband, but your friend and your partner. He will keep you safe always.” Mi then turned her attention to Cam. “And you young lady, do not worry the man you desire should one day be yours. Just have faith and believe.”
Cam's mouth dropped open in shock and surprise at what Mi had just said no one knew about her secret crush or her desire to one day be with him.
Kat took a deep breath then gave Mi and Cam her brightest smile. “I'm ready.”
Kenji watched and waited as Kat slowly walked down the aisle towards him. She was a vision of beauty. Watching her was like his fantasy come to life. The off-the-shoulder-dress she wore complemented her caramel skin. Her golden, almond shaped eyes sparkled in the afternoon sunlight. He'd waited for this day since they were both children and today it was finally here. In a just a little while they would be husband and wife. She would be his. As long as he had breath in his body she would remain his wife.
The night they'd spent together a few days ago was nothing compared to what he had planned for her tonight. He planned to shower her with more passion than she could possibly imagine. After tonight she would never think of letting other man touch her precious body.
Yes, he thought smiling to himself. He was more than ready to marry her and begin their lives together.
Somewhere in Japan
“It's been fourteen years and we still can't find that girl.” The impatient man with the cigar said.
“We haven't found he father either.” Said the man behind the large teakwood desk.
“I think we should cut our losses and find another company to use for our transport, if he finds us before we find him you know what will happen.” The third man said, as he paced the floor in front of the large desk.
“And what are supposed to do about the technology we obtain from Fu-Shima Corp? We can't get that from any other company.” Said the man with the cigar.
The phone on the desk rang. It was answered by the man behind the desk. He looked at his accomplices before reaching to answer it.
“This had better be good news.” He told the caller, he listened for a minute. “I see, very well, I expect an update when it is done.” After hanging up the phone he turned to the other two men. “It would appear that the girl is marrying that Fujimoto boy as we speak.”
“What!” said the other two men in unison as a response to this news?
“Don't worry our men are on the way to their location as we speak.”
The man with the cigar was next to speak. “I hope they do a better job than the team of men we sent fourteen years ago.”
The pacing man replied. “They had better or we could be in big trouble.”
Chapter Twelve
Kenji stood patiently waiting for the part of the ceremony that announced it was time for him to kiss his bride. He wanted to give her a preview of things to come. He had to remind himself to breathe, when he saw her walking down the aisle towards him. She was breathtaking in her antique white, off-the-shoulder, silk gown.
Her soft, caramel, skin seemed to glow in the bright sunlight. Her golden gazed locked with his, as she moved closer to him and the alter. Her long, silky, black hair now had purple highlights and was pulled up and away from her gorgeous face.
The silver kanzashi pins in her hair he recognized, had belonged to her mother at one
time. One was shaped like a dragon and the other was a tiger. One had eyes made of red rubies, the other of yellow diamonds, which sparkled as the midday sun reflected from them.
Kenji was pulled from his thoughts by the announcement that it was time to kiss the bride. He took a small step forward as Kat lifted her head to his face. He caught a glimpse of uncertainty in her golden eyes as she flashed him a nervous smile. He smiled back before slowly lowering his head towards her for the kiss he'd been patiently awaiting.
Kenji framed her beautiful face with both his hands as his lips covered hers. The kiss went from tender to steamy within seconds. He slid his tongue across the seam of her lips. Without hesitation she parted her lips for his invasion. He tilted his head to one side to deepen the kiss. He kept her lovely face framed in the palm of his hands.
Closing her eyes she slipped her arms around his neck holding him to her, not wanting the kiss to end before she was ready for him too. His open palms felt warm against her cheeks, as he devoured her mouth with his own.
Their tongues played a dueling game as she returned his kiss stroke for stroke. She knew that he was making a point by kissing her so passionately. That was fine with her because she had a point to make also. She would show him with her actions how she felt about him, and maybe one day he would be able to feel the same way about her. Even if he never returned her love, she wouldn't regret spending one day with him. She planned to enjoy her time as his wife for as long as it lasted.
Kenji barely heard several people clearing their throats loudly to get their attention. He reluctantly ended the kiss. Embracing her, he whispered close to ear promising to continue this later that night. Releasing her they turn to face the crowd of guests that were in attendance, as they we're presented as, “Mr. and Mrs. Kenji Fujimoto.”
Since this was not only her wedding day but also her twenty second birthday, he had a special surprise for her. He knew that Big Bang the Korean pop band was one of her favorite bands, at the moment. He'd arranged a special concert via satellite. He called in a few favors to make it happen. Along with the help of Thai it had been a breeze. He hoped that she liked what he'd done, because he had a few more surprises for her before the night was over. He planned to do whatever he could to make her happy.
Kat had gone up to change out of her wedding gown while the guests were being shown to the practice room. It had been transformed into the ultimate reception area. The same theme from the garden continued throughout the room. Paper lanterns in varies sizes and colors, Crane symbols were placed around the room also. There was a large basket container holding a thousand folded white paper origami cranes sitting in the corner. They were symbol of peace, happiness and eternal youth.
It was said that a thousand folded cranes makes a wish come true. His wish was for them to be happy always.
A movie theater size screen occupied one wall of the room, were the satellite feed
was setup for the concert.
Before he presented her with her surprise they would have wedding sake ceremony. It was one of the oldest traditions in a Japanese wedding. The couple would share a toast of sake symbolizing a formal bond between bride and groom.
An exquisite miniature sized sake set of three flat cups escalating in size, starting with the smallest of the cups. The groom leads taking three sips, then the bride. They repeat this with the middle size set, then the largest set.
The tradition was called San San Ku Do, meaning “three sets of three sips equals nine”.
Kat entered the beautifully decorated practice room. She spotted Ken, wearing his Japanese attire an outfit of Montsuki kimono and hakama pants that was done in shades of purple her favorite color and black. In the place of his family crest was a dragon intertwined with a tiger just like her kanzashi hair sticks.
Ken had pulled his long black hair into a ponytail that rested high on his head. He was also carrying his samurai sword which was sheathed at his side. Looking as if he'd just stepped off the big screen, from one of those samurai warrior movies.
When she arrived he'd was standing off to the side on his cell phone. He ended the call when his dark gaze collided with her golden gaze. He walked slowly towards her as he took in the sight of her. She was wearing one of the wedding gifts he had given to her. A purple and black kimono and loose fitting matching pants. The outfit was made of fine silks bearing the same symbol as his the dragon and the tiger entwined.
On her feet were a set of geta's, “a pair of
raised wooden clogs”, that showed off her brightly polished toenails. An obi was worn to secure her kimono.
She could wear a potato sack and he would still think that she was the most beautiful woman in the world. Stopping in front of her, he smiled as he took her hand, leading her to the table, setup for the sake ceremony.
“Thank you.” Kat said to him as he led the way. “For the outfit, it's lovely, and it was very sweet of you.”
“You’re welcome but I have more surprises for you, I hope you like all of them I wanted this day to be special for you.”
After completing the sake ceremony, everyone was given a cup of sake, as uncle Daichi offer a special toast for the newlyweds. Once the wedding cake was cut and served, it was time for her next wedding surprise. Guiding her to wall were the large screen was located, Kenji seated her on a plush loveseat before he signaled to Kenta, his longtime assistant and friend, the theater screen came to life.
First the music started. The song Big Bang started to boom from the surround system as one by one they appeared on the large screen. Kat's heart began to pound in her chest, as her eyes went wide. Kat hopped out of her seat, she gently kicking off her clogs and began to dance to the beat of the song.
The first song ended and they begin singing “We belong together” followed by “Make Love.”
With each song as the beat changed so did her moves. She rocked her body and swerved her hips to the beat. When she noticed Ken watching her closely, she took his hand and pulled him up with her. He stood and continued to watch her she was driving him wild inside. It took all his strength not to embarrass himself in front of this room full of people. People he barely remembered were there.
As she danced it was like everyone else seemed to disappear. He saw only her as her body kept time with beat of the music. She was truly amazing. He knew that she loved to dance, but he hadn't realized how good she was at it until now.
Uncle Daichi and Amaya looked on as Kat danced for her husband. Seeing the look in Kenji's eyes they quietly ushered the guest from the room, to give them privacy.
Just when she thought they were done, Se7en appeared as they began to sing
“Forever Mind and the La, La, La remix.” For a finale they were joined by 2NE1 as the music for “Lollipop” pulsed through the speakers.
When the song ended they all wished Kat a happy birthday and a heart felt
congratulations on their marriage. She applauded and thanked them before, turning to look at Kenji who was standing next to her. She listened as he thanked them all for their performance and promised to call them again soon.
As soon as the satellite feed was terminated, Kat throw her arms around Ken's neck and before releasing him, kissed him fully on the mouth.
Kat had intended for the kiss to be a quick thank you for his unbelievable surprise. But when she tried to move away, He slipped his arms around her waist, holding her in place as he deepened the kiss. He smoothly parted her lips with the tip of his wet tongue she didn't hesitate to open for him.
All else was forgotten. At that moment no one else existed, just the two of them. Husband and wife, partners for life. It wasn’t until they both came up for air that they noticed that they were alone.
“I guess we ran everyone off.” Kenji said looking around the now empty room.
“I guess we did.” She responded as she also looked around the empty room.
”You sure know how to show a girl a good time.” Kat said with a smile as she gazed up into his handsome face. He returned her smile with one of his own, showing his even white teeth. His smile transformed his face from handsome to beautiful in mere seconds. Most people didn't think of men as beautiful, but there was no other word to describe this man.
Her Husband. The love of her life.
He had a straight narrow nose, and high cheekbones, any woman would kill for. His dark brown almond shaped eyes gave him an exotic appeal, women loved including her. He had thin lips that rarely sported a smiled, but when they did he took her breath away. His long shiny black hair that he usually kept in a ponytail stopped just below his shoulder blades.
Kat had often wondered how he would look with his hair braided back, like Tae Yang from Big Bang use to wear. She bet he would look just as hot and sexy.
“Well I do try, but I have more surprises in store for you, kunoichi.”
Kat looked at him with a slight frown. “Why did you call me that?” Kenji looked away for just a moment. Returning his gaze to hers he asked in a soft voice.
“I don’t know it just came out, why what’s wrong?” She stepped out of his arms and turned her back to him before she responded his question.
“That’s what my father use to call me I haven’t heard that since I was eight years old. You say it with that same Japanese accent. Only you sound sexy saying.”
Kenji moved to stand behind her. He placed both his hands on her shoulders he gently turned her so that she was again facing him.
“I didn’t mean to upset you.”
Kat smiled up at him before replying. “You didn’t upset me Ken, it was nice be called by a name that my father used so often. I miss them both so much, sometimes. There are times I can’t remember anything but the night I lost them and then there’s the times I see them both in my dreams alive and well.” She leaned her forehead to rest it against his chest as she released a weak little laugh that sounded humorless even to her own ears.
“I know I sound crazy, but I see things sometimes and they seem so real and sometimes instead of seeing things I just get these strong feelings. Like intense sensations, that affects my entire soul right before something happens.”
Before Kenji could reply to what she’d said, Katsumi’s body stiffened and her eyes glazed over almost glowing. She stood there unblinking, as she turned her head slightly to the side. She listened for a moment before, snapping out of what seemed like a trance.
“Kenji something is wrong, we have to hurry and get all the guests out of here now, they’re on the way.”
Ken looked at Kat intently before saying. “How close are they? Can you tell? Do you know how much time we have before they get here?” She shook her head in the negative as she replied.
“I… I’m not sure, I can’t tell.”
Ken gently grabbed her arms in his hands. “Concentrate kunoichi use your senses. You can bring the images back, just focus. Look into my eyes, now try to remember what you saw.”
Kat gazed deeply into Ken’s eyes, so deeply it felt as though she was falling. As she continued to stare into his unblinking gaze the images returned only this time clearer, more precise.
“It’s too late their here, their entering the house right now, Ken we’re going to have to fight our way out.”
Before either of them could say anything more they were interrupted by loud screams and what sounded like people running.
Moments later the door swung open as Kenta rushed in. “The estate is under attack, you two have to get out of here.”
Kenji and Kat both looked at the large ex-sumo wrestler. It was Ken who spoke first. “Where’s uncle Daichi and Amaya?”
He replied quickly as he moved towards them. “They’re both out there holding them off so that you two can escape.”
This time it was Kat who responded. “I’m not going anywhere without the both of them.” Turning to Ken, her eyes pleaded with him to understand.
He understood the meaning in her golden eyes. “Don't worry Kat we aren't leaving them or anyone else behind.” Ken turned to Kenta. “You protect Kat I'm counting on you to keep her safe big guy.”
The next instant Kat was at Ken's side. “Oh, no...You... don't I'm not hiding out while you go out there to fight I'm going with you, I can protect myself.”
Kenji looked over at Kenta. When he moved to stop Kat, she stopped him in his tracks with her words that were said through clenched teeth.
“Don't even think about it, you may be a big guy, but how much do you want to bet that I coul
d take you down in two seconds flat. So if you want to keep that hand of yours it better not touch me, now move out of the way you big ox, unless you'd like me to move you.”
The large man was uncertain about what he should do, his gaze found Kenji's with a question in his nervous eyes. Feeling bad for the big guy he excused him of the job of protecting his hot tempered wife with a slight nod of his head. Ken saw the relief in the man’s eyes.
Kenta quickly and gladly stepped aside.
“Thank you.” She said rising on her toes to place a soft kiss on one of his chubby cheeks before walking past him. He touched a hand to that cheek and smiled slightly. When she looked back at his puzzled expression she simply said. “That was because I know you're just doing your job and any other time I wouldn't stop you but it's going to take all of us to stop these intruders.”
