Izzy smiled. “I know. Come, let’s have some tea and I’ll fill you in about what’s been happening around here. Maggie, go on out and play with your brother and sisters.”
Melody frowned as she watched her little sister’s shoulders slump as she walked slowly outside. She’d seemed fine a minute ago when she and Liam got home. “What’s wrong with Maggie?”
“Your father sent Jackson to Ramel,” Izzy said. “Maggie’s been almost inconsolable.”
“They’ve always been close; I’m sure it’s almost as bad as when Griff and Braeden left her,” Melody said, her brow wrinkled.
Izzy sighed. “Yes. She’ll be fine. I’m so glad you’ve accepted Liam as your mate.”
“Once we truly bonded, it wasn’t nearly as difficult as I’d made it out to be,” Melody said with an embarrassed flush.
“They are a passionate lot, the Ramelians,” Izzy said with a grin.
“Mother, please, I don’t want to hear anything about you and daddy’s passion. I get it!”
Izzy laughed. “Liam seems good with the children.”
“He really is, though I hope we don’t have any right away. I want time to just be mated; the rest can come later as far as I’m concerned.”
“When the time comes, you’ll be ready,” her mother assured her.
Melody smiled. “I’m ready for anything that comes our way. I can handle it; after all, I am the commander’s daughter.”
