“Mmmhmm. I want to take it off though.”

He’d spent more than enough time with me naked with his fingers buried inside me, so he could just wait.

“And I want you to go sit down and let me make breakfast.”

He pulled away and stared down at me, a smirk appearing across his lips.

“Someone’s demanding this morning. And here I thought you were the quiet type who does what she’s told.”

“You’re not my boss right now so sit.”

His smile got wider and he let me go, backing away. His shorts were slung low on his hips, giving me a very nice view of his happy trail. God, he was so hot and very much mine. All too soon he was sitting down on one of the stools and leaning his elbows on the island.

I turned away and set about looking through his cupboards. He watched me but I ignored his heated stare.

  “What are you—”

“Nope, you don’t get to ask questions. I don’t want to hear a peep out of you about what I’m doing, got it?” I said, cutting him off.

I glanced at him as I placed a pan on the stove. His blue-grey eyes were full of amusement. At least he wasn’t annoyed by me telling him to sit and be quiet in his own kitchen.

  “Yes, Chef.”

I grinned and shook my head. Grabbing a bowl, I peeled two bananas and mashed them before mixing with eggs, milk and vanilla extract. Next, I added flour and baking powder along with a little salt and finally, blueberries. I set aside the mix before heating up the pan.

“You totally want to tell me what I’m doing wrong, don’t you?” I said without turning around.

  “No…”

  “No? I don’t believe you.”

“You need to turn the heat down a little is all.”

I smirked knowing he couldn’t help it. I turned down the gas since I wasn’t about to be stubborn just to spite him. Making sure the pan was properly greased, I poured a few scoops of batter onto it before flipping the kettle on.

  “Tea or coffee?”

  “I can do that.”

  “Lucien…”

I’d told him he wasn’t going to help and I meant it. Taking care of him this morning felt right. It had been my fault we’d not explored this thing between us before, but I wasn’t trying to make up for it. I wanted to do this to show him I cared. To show him I wanted this to be something real. Our relationship should start on an equal footing because it certainly wasn’t at work considering he was still my boss.

  “Tea, milk, one sugar.”

Grinning, I dumped two tea bags in mugs after finding them in the cupboard above the kettle. He took his tea the same way I did. By the time I was finished up with our breakfast, I could see how much he’d been holding back from saying anything. His bottom lip was caught between his teeth which I’d never seen him do before.

I took a seat next to him and raised my eyebrow, daring him to give me a lecture on what I’d done wrong, but he didn’t say a word. Picking up his fork, he dug into his pancakes which I’d doused in syrup along with various berries. I watched him take a bite, realising how nervous I was about him trying something I’d made specifically for him. I mean this was Lucien Dumont and I’d cooked him banana and blueberry pancakes for breakfast. Not exactly fine dining, but I wasn’t always one for fancy foods. Sometimes you just wanted a familiar, comforting meal.

He turned to me after he’d chewed and swallowed, a small smile playing on his lips. Next thing I knew, his hand was wrapped around my head and his mouth was against mine. I could taste the pancakes on his lips as he kissed me. When he pulled away, his eyes were twinkling.

“They don’t taste quite as good as you do, but you’re just about the tastiest thing I’ve put in my mouth so that’s very hard to live up to.”

  I almost shoved him.

  “Be serious.”

  “I am. You’re delicious.”

“I meant about the pancakes, not me. I’m well aware you find me tasty.”

He grinned and sat back, but not before placing his hand on my bare knee and stroking his fingers along my inner thigh. I tried desperately not to squirm at his touch.

“I can tell you no one has made me pancakes in a very long time and these are exceptionally good.”

  My mouth almost dropped open.

  “No one?”

He shook his head, digging back into his food.

“Not since…” His expression darkened momentarily. “Not since my father passed away, although he only ever made crêpes since anything else was very un-French.”

I’d read about his father’s death in a skiing accident when Lucien was twenty-five and his career had only taken off the year before.

“I’m sorry,” I whispered, unsure of what else to say.

He looked over at me and my bottom lip started to tremble. Next thing I knew, he’d dragged my stool closer to him and cupped my face.

“Hey, what’s that face for? Why are you sorry?”

“I shouldn’t have made these. I didn’t mean to make you think about what I’m sure is a difficult subject.”

He searched my face for a long moment.

“I was very close to my father and when he died suddenly, it wasn’t easy for me, but that doesn’t mean I can’t talk about him. I’ve not wanted to share these things with anyone before, but I do with you, Riley. Don’t you know you bring passion into my life? You’re so vibrant and full of life. When we’re together, I feel alive again so don’t think for a second I’m upset with you for making these. I meant it, they’re delicious and you should eat yours before they get cold.”

My heart pounded so hard in my chest, I swear it was going to explode. There were so many things I wanted to say but all the words got stuck in my throat. Even though Lucien and I, in reality, knew very little about each other, I couldn’t help feeling as though we were meant to end up like this. Together. Being with him made me excited about life in a way I hadn’t been when I was with Beck. We’d become so stagnated in our relationship it had never felt as though we were ever moving forward.

“You make me happier than I’ve ever been before,” I blurted out.

He looked a little taken aback.

  “I do?”

I nodded, not trusting myself to say anything else which wouldn’t sound stupid or overly sappy.

  Foot. Mouth. Idiot.

He smiled then and my chest lurched.

“You make me happy too… Now, eat up, I want to play with you before you run off home.”

I’d told him earlier I had to get back as I’d left my chef whites at home. We both had work this evening. I wasn’t sure if I was looking forward to it or not. Whilst I wouldn’t have to suffer him looking at me like I’d killed a puppy, I didn’t want our relationship to have an impact on work either. We would have to talk about that. As much as I trusted him to take care of it all like he said he would, we needed to be on the same page too.

I turned to my own plate and dug in, also not wanting it to get cold. He was right, they did taste amazing even if I did say so myself.

  “I believe you now.”

He nudged me with his shoulder and I couldn’t help smiling. This felt so normal. So right. Sitting here with him eating breakfast like a real couple. Like this is something we did all the time. I hoped we would stay this way. It was still very early days so hope was all I had.

When we finished up, I was about to get up and clean everything away, but he put a hand on my shoulder.

  “Let me.”

  “But—”

  “No. You cooked, I’ll clean.”

I stayed where I was and watched him move around the kitchen, putting stuff away and filling the dishwasher. Staring at the way his back muscles flexed as he straightened and stretched. And I’m not ashamed to say my mouth watered.

His eyes were full of heat when he turned and stalked back around the island to me. I found myself lifted up on it the next moment and him standing b
etween my legs. His fingers were at the buttons of my shirt flipping them open one by one.

“Now, I do believe this little mind of yours…” he tapped the side of my head “…had some pretty naughty fantasies about this kitchen island.”

I felt my face growing hot. It hadn’t seemed like such a bad thing telling him about my fantasies last night with his fingers inside me and his mouth latched onto my neck and breasts, now I felt a little embarrassed.

He leant down and nibbled my ear as he pushed the shirt off my shoulders.

“I especially liked the one where I had you spread wide open with my face buried between your thighs.”

His fingers trailed up my inner thighs and I let out a shuddering breath. He gripped my thighs and pressed them wider before pulling back and giving me a sly grin. I didn’t get a chance to say a word as he lowered himself to his knees and kissed up my thigh.

“Lie back, ma petite fleur. Watch me feast on you.”

I did as he said. The worktop was cold against my heated skin, but I didn’t care. Not when the hottest man I’d ever laid eyes on was about to pleasure me with his tongue. A part of me couldn’t believe this was real. Lucien was actually mine. Something I’d only ever dreamed of happening. Maybe dreams really did come true.

  My boyfriend.

The words banded themselves around my chest leaving me breathless. His eyes were intent on mine when I raised my head to look at him. And when his tongue met my clit, I just about combusted on the spot. His tongue was soft yet insistent. I could feel myself growing wetter by the second. He had a firm grip on my thighs, keeping my legs wide open, but I had no desire to shut them. Having this beautiful man devour me felt like heaven.

My hands fisted at my sides when he released one of my thighs only to thrust two fingers inside me. Pleasure bloomed all over, making me arch my back.

  “Oh god, don’t stop.”

When he touched me, I lost all sense of embarrassment. My inhibitions fled. It was just me and him. The way he looked at me set my body ablaze. Like I was the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen. And he called me his little flower again. For a split second, I thought about asking him why that specific endearment, but his tongue and his fingers were working me into too much of a frenzy. Curses flew out of my mouth. I begged him not to stop all over again. The sensations were almost too much. All too soon I was soaring. Flying so high I thought I’d never come down. I flew and I shattered into a million tiny pieces. Lucien and complete ecstasy went hand in hand.

When I came to, he’d tugged down his shorts and was rolling on a condom. He then took me by the arm and pulled me up so our bodies were flush with each other. Ever so slowly, he fed me his cock, stretching me wide open with each inch whilst he watched me intently, our faces barely a few centimetres apart.

“This is where I belong,” he whispered. “Deep inside of you.”

I wrapped my hand around his neck, the other one pressed to his cheek as I dragged him closer so our lips met. Our kiss was messy. Lips and tongues everywhere as he thrust inside me. I could taste myself, but it only made the whole experience that much more of a turn on. I wrapped my legs around his back, angling my hips so I could take him deeper. I felt so stretched and full. His cock fit me so perfectly. He was right. He belonged in me.

“Harder,” I murmured against his mouth. “Don’t hold back.”

He gripped one of my hips, anchoring me to him as he fucked me with deep, hard strokes which sent ripples of pleasure running up my spine. His lips trailed down my jaw, kissing my neck as I held on to him tighter.

“Say you’ll stay after work tonight.”

  “Yes, Chef.”

  “Damn it, Riley.”

He thrust harder, slamming into me with such force I thought I would pass out from sheer bliss.

  “Fuck me, Chef.”

He groaned, burying his face in my neck, his lips pressed to my pulse point. He loved it when I called him that during sex really even if he complained about it. It drove him crazy and I loved the resulting brutal poundings I got from it.

“Fuck… Fuck, Riley. Your pussy is my fucking heaven.”

Thrusting twice more, he buried himself deep inside me and groaned my name as he came, his body jerking and shuddering with his release. For the longest time, we just held onto each other, both of our chests heaving with the exertion.

“I’m not letting you walk away from me again,” he whispered against my skin. “This. Us. I won’t give it up for anything.”

  “I promise I’m not going anywhere. I’m yours… and you’re mine.”

I felt him smile against my skin.

  “Mmm, all yours.”

And for the first time in a long time, I felt like everything would be okay even if it was just for those minutes we held each other tightly. If I had Lucien, I could do anything. He said he’d protect me and little did I know, I’d end up needing him to make good on that promise sooner rather than later.

  Chapter Ten

  Lucien

I swear I’d never been this distracted in the kitchen until I got inside Riley’s sweet little pussy. Yes, I’d desired her from the moment she’d walked into my restaurant, but I didn’t know what I was missing out on then. Now I was drowning in my need for her and it got harder and harder to pretend as though we weren’t anything other than Head Chef and Chef de Partie. Riley was so much more.

  My beautiful girlfriend.

I fought to keep the smile off my face as she walked up to the pass and set two plates down. She finished them off in front of me. I watched her dainty little hands work unable to keep my eyes off her. Over the past few weeks, I’d been giving her after hours lessons as well as on our days off. And yes, I made damn sure they lined up so we could spend as much time as possible together outside of the kitchen. I could’ve entrusted the rotas to Vito, but I couldn’t exactly explain that I needed my schedule to line up with Riley’s without a proper explanation as to why. It was in both our best interests not to have our relationship out in the open amongst the rest of the staff.

“They look good,” I said to her in a low murmur.

  “Thank you, Chef.”

The twinkle in her eye and the words set my blood on fire. Just another couple of hours and I could have her pressed against me, my hands full of her curves. My palms twitched at the thought. She almost skipped away from the pass back to her station. I refrained from staring at her pert arse as I called for service.

“Look at that, the teacher’s pet making gooey eyes at him yet again,” Glenn’s voice flittered through the noise of the kitchen.

I glanced over at his station finding him nudging Andy, his usual partner in crime’s shoulder and nodding his head towards Riley. My eyes narrowed and my fist clenched at my side.

  What the fuck?

“He doesn’t shout at her anymore, wonder if she’s letting him slip her the D. Probably why he’s so nice to her now,” Andy laughed and rolled his eyes.

“You think? She’s always wanted to get ahead, acting like a fucking know-it-all the whole time.”

These two were walking a fine fucking line right now. If service wasn’t so busy, I’d have hauled both of them out of the kitchen and had strong words with them.

“Oh definitely has to be. Why else would he suddenly act like the sun shines out of her arse?”

  Glenn sniggered.

“I knew she was a dirty little slut. If she lets him fuck her, maybe she’ll let me.”

He mimicked grabbing his crotch and Andy laughed.

That was fucking it. I was not having this shit. Not only were they being disrespectful towards me, their boss, but calling their colleague names and accusing her of sleeping with me to get perks was out of fucking order. And yes, I was also fucked off that Glenn thought Riley would ever give him the time of day.

  She’s mine.

Vito wasn’t on tonight, but I could call on someone else to run the pass for me.

>   “Mal, take over for five minutes,” I said to the chef who was dressing plates this evening.

He gave me a nod and a smile. Mal was a good chef who kept his head down and got on with his work unlike two of my other chefs who were acting like little teenage boys right now.

I started to walk around towards their station but stopped dead at Glenn’s next words.

“Hey Riley, fancy a go on this? I’m sure you suck dick as well as you suck up to Chef.”

He was pointing as his cock and giving her a lewd stare.

“Yeah, when you’re done with Glenn, maybe you can suck me off too,” Andy chimed in.

Riley looked like she wanted to crawl under the counter and never come out. Her cheeks were blazing. She didn’t even look at Glenn and Andy let alone respond.

Neither of them noticed when I got close to them, too busy leering at Riley.

“Do either of you think that’s an appropriate way to speak to your colleague?”

I tried to keep my voice calm and level, but anger flooded my veins. The very thought of them being anywhere near to my girlfriend made me want to throw both of them out on their ears. They were fucking lucky I was attempting to keep my cool.

Glenn and Andy’s heads whipped around. Both of them baulked when they saw me standing there, the blood draining from their faces.

  “N…n…no Chef,” Andy stammered out.

“I suggest you both apologise to Riley this instant. I’ll see you both in my office when service is over, understood?”

As much as I wanted to chastise them in front of everyone, it wouldn’t be wise. Besides, I needed to calm the fuck down before I spoke to them.

  “Yes, Chef, sorry.”

  They both turned to Riley.

“I’m sorry, Riley, that wasn’t very nice of me.”

  “Sorry, Riley,” Glenn ground out.

She didn’t even acknowledge them which I could hardly blame her for, but it had me worried. I glared at the two boys who quickly went back to work before walking over to her.

“Are you okay?” I asked quietly.

  “No,” she mumbled.

My heart ached. I wanted so fucking badly to wrap my arms around her but I couldn’t. Not in front of everyone. Especially not in light of what Glenn and Andy had said. We didn’t need any further rumours starting about us.
