Kate, I didn’t recognize the value of a content editor until you. Your skills in detecting holes and inconsistencies are first-rate. You are a champ. I pictured you reading the draft, stopping often, muttering, and making notes, lots of notes, and later, mumbling under your breath some more. The suggestions were intuitive and fell into step with my goals. Your questions inspired me to create a world I wish to be in with the characters. You helped me get the book to the next level. Thank you.

Alex Dembrovsky of MiblArt, you are a marvelous designer, translating my story into the finest cover I could imagine. Every time I see it, my heart soars.

Ira and the MiblArt team, you have my gratitude for the superb service and giving me peace of mind.

Kelly, you deserve a virtual hug for your diligence with the copyediting. I salute you.

Cassie, you are a jewel for matching my needs up with the people who would help me.

Kylie, Lucy, Jo, and the Give Me Books Promotions team, thank you all for holding my hand through the perplexing maze of book promotions.

Liz Durano, your constancy and friendship are gifts. Thank you for helping me when I needed it.

Amber and Jeanmarie, I can't thank you enough for carving out time to read the first draft even though you are both writing and launching your own works. Teri, thank you for your friendship and helpful comments.

My husband, the boss of all bosses and the master of my heart, your love sustains me. Giving me the opportunity to fulfill my need to write is a selfless act of love. I owe you a lot of favors, which I'm planning to pay soon. I promise.

Thanks, Number One son, for pretending to listen to me when I talk about the novel and giving me some surprisingly useful feedback despite the charade.

Thank you, Number Two son. You are finally earning your keep. That Photoshop subscription I’ve been shelling out money for all these years is finally paying off. I need that ARC overlay in the morning.

  Afterword

Thank you for reading Blue. I hope Devyn and Max have pulled you into their world of love and regret, intrigue and danger. Set in the backdrop of Los Angeles, a city with thousands of stories, Max and Devyn are contemporary characters, people you’d see in the streets of Venice or Santa Monica. As a fiction writer, the characters must be a little more of everything, more attractive, more driven, focused on fitness, oversexed, and fearless.

Usually, I don’t keep a record of my playlist, the song Blue Eyes, by Elton John, was perfect to put on repeat while I mapped out Devyn’s story. The rest of the songs on the list popped up in the shuffle at just the right moments. I made the playlist to share with you.

I have the blueprint for Bossing Blue, Book 2 of the Carson Trilogy. It will release in January 2019. There will be more romance, perils, revelations, herrings, and twists.

It won’t seem like a long wait because I have another book almost ready for the editor. It's a combined duet from one of the Kindle Worlds. I cut my indie writing teeth on the duet. With Kindle Worlds gone and Amazon removed the books from the marketplace. The KW author allowed the writers to keep the rights to the stories and republish them with the exceptions of her copyrighted story elements. Thus, the names and places have changed, and the story polished.

The title of the new book is The Confessional. It couldn’t be more apt. The story includes characters from the Carson Trilogy, Saint, Max, and Dr. Jane. With any luck, It will be ready for publication before the end of the year. The story is standalone. The genres include contemporary, romance, suspense, thriller, and psychological.

It’s dark. It’s hot. It’s full of secrets. It’s complicated. I had to write it.
