All the time, Addison had wished she was back home, rather than with people she’d never had anything in common with.
“They may get in touch,” he said.
So far, they hadn’t, and she didn’t mind. “I’m not too worried. They’d probably tell me to stop, or say I was embarrassing you.”
“You don’t embarrass me, Addie. I’m proud. I’m going to come over later.”
“Okay. I’ll cook.”
“You order takeout while I’m with you. I’ll know you don’t like me.”
He pouted, and she couldn’t help but laugh at how childlike he looked. “That’s kind of cute. Maybe you should do that for all of our business meetings.”
She grabbed her coat, and bag. Staring back at him, she didn’t actually know what to do.
“Kiss me,” he said.
Stepping up close to him, she stared at his chest. “Do you think this will ever stop?”
“What?”
“This nervousness? I don’t know what to do when I’m with you.”
He gripped the back of her neck, and tugged her close.
“Be yourself. Touch me, Addie.”
“That’s not being myself.”
“Then touch me, touch your husband. I’m yours, just like you’re mine.”
She placed her hand on his chest. “This is the strangest thing in the world.”
“We were married before we knew anything about each other. We’ll adapt, and in time, touching me will be natural to you.”
Addison went onto her toes, and pressed her lips to his. “I’ll see you later tonight.”
“You will.”
She left his office, and she felt happier for it.
When she got back to her apartment, she found Darla already set up in her apartment.
“How was the trip to the hubby?” Darla asked.
“I don’t know. I think it was good.”
“I’d say with the way your cheeks are, it was very good.”
Putting on the apron, Addison got the ingredients out, and when she was at the fridge, she touched her lips. Yes, it had been a very good trip to see her husband. That kiss, it had been wow, more than she’d ever imagined.
All other kisses faded into the background.
It made her wonder what else she’d missed out on.

The day had gone by so slowly since Addie had visited him, and Shaun was ready for the day to end. At five-thirty, he was done, his computer was turned off, and he was waiting for Bruce to finish up.
He wasn’t going to have Bruce working while he was long gone. Bruce had a family, a wife and a couple of kids.
“What are your plans for this evening?” he asked, riding down the elevator with him.
“I’ve got to pick Daisy up from soccer practice.”
“Daisy?”
“Yes, I have a tomboy for a daughter.”
Shaun laughed. Daisy was a little firecracker.
“What about you?”
“I’ve going to see my wife.”
Bruce chuckled. “You’ve been in a good mood since she visited. Did you get any of the brochures I left on your desk?”
He had, and he’d already booked a trip to Italy and to London. He wasn’t too sure about London though. The last time he’d been there, it hadn’t struck him as the kind of place to appeal to Addie. Still, he’d do anything for her.
“Yes, I did, thank you.”
The elevator opened on the underground parking. He shook hands with Bruce, and made his way to his car. He’d just settled into the driver’s seat when his cell phone rang. When he saw it was his father, he frowned.
What was his father calling him about?”
“Hey, Dad, what’s up?” he asked.
“Hi, son, I just thought I’d put a call through to you.”
“It’s not like you to do.”
“We saw your conference. We weren’t aware of Addison’s career development. Your mother, she’s not exactly impressed. She’s been by your house, and no one is answering.”
Rubbing his temple, he cursed in his mind.
“Dad, I’m happy for my wife to be making a career.”
“Your mother has been losing her mind, Shaun. She wants you and Addison to come around for dinner on Sunday. She’s inviting Addison’s parents as well.”
Shaun cursed. “Look, we’ve had a few setbacks, okay? I’m not going to get into it on the phone. Tell Mom, we’re not going to make it.”
“I’m giving you a warning, she’s out to get answers.”
He was thankful for the heads-up. His mother had always been a pain. She truly believed she was helping, when in fact, she was always causing problems.
Speaking with his father for a few minutes, Shaun finally hung up after saying goodbye. He spoke to his father regularly, whereas he kept a wide berth of his mother. She was the type of woman who always found fault with everything. Addie had been their second choice.
It was so damn frustrating.
The drive toward Addison’s apartment helped to clear his mind. He was heading toward the door when he saw Dean park his car. The other man climbed out of his car, and he looked tired.
“Long day?” Shaun asked.
“Long, tiring, and freezing. Do you have any idea how hard it is to stand on a beach and look hot, while you’re freezing your ass off?”
“You’re a model?”
“Yep, a damn good one as well.” Dean clicked his car shut. “I make big bucks.”
“Why are you living here then?”
Addie he understood living in a modest apartment, but model Dean, he didn’t see it. Most of the successful models were extravagant, and required a lot of expensive jewels, clothes, and apartments.
“I know I’m not going to be stunning forever. I’m going to need another job, so living modestly, means I can come up with plans for the future. You’re going up to see Addie?”
“Yes. Don’t call her Addie.” It was his name for her. No one else had the right to call her Addie. She was all his.
“You can call her Addie, but I can’t.”
“No.”
“Damn, you’re whipped, I mean seriously whipped, and Addie doesn’t think you have a thing for her.”
Shaun paused. “Addie has talked to you about me?”
“I’m good at keeping secrets, and it wasn’t like she could hide it from me. She was a married woman, who lived alone without her billionaire husband to visit. You were also dating a lot of other women.”
Gritting his teeth, he fisted his hands. “I never cheated on her.”
“I never said you did. I just put two and two together.” Dean shrugged. “I need a drink. Have a nice night.”
They both entered the main floor of the apartment. This building only had two large apartments, and it was in a good part of the city. He knocked on Addie’s door, and waited. She opened it, and was still smiling when she saw it was him.
“Hi, I didn’t expect you to come this early.”
“I left work early, and I wanted to come and see you.”
Addie opened the door wide enough for him to enter.
“I got a call from my dad,” he said, brushing past her.
“Is that not a good thing?” She closed the door and leaned against him. He couldn’t help but stare at her. She still wore the jeans he’d unbuttoned earlier. The shirt pulled across her tits, and all he wanted to do was strip her naked.
“No. Dad has just warned me. Our moms are not exactly impressed with your latest success.”
She sighed and stepped away from the door. “I made you dinner.” She moved past him, and he followed her into the kitchen. “They’re the only two people in the world who wouldn’t be happy about their daughter, or in-law, finding some modicum of success and happiness. It stinks.”
“They’re old school, believe the wife should be at home, with kids.” He sat down, and picked up his fork, digging into the pasta. One mouthful, and he was in heaven. Seriously, he
’d missed out on this kind of cooking. He was an asshole. “They wanted us to stop by for Sunday dinner.”
Addie scoffed. “There’s no way I’m spending Sunday dinner eating whatever their chef has decided to cook. I’m not a child anymore, and I won’t be told what to do.”
“I told my dad we weren’t going.” His father hadn’t exactly been very business minded, so when the time came, he’d been more than happy to give the company to Shaun. Going through the disaster that had been left to him, Shaun had built the company back up. If it hadn’t been for Addie’s company merging with his, he doubted he’d have been able to save his.
Addie’s father had been business minded, while his own stank at it.
“Good. You can go by all means, but don’t expect me to. I’m a grown ass woman, and I refuse to be told what to do anymore.” She ate some food, and he smiled. This was what he wanted all those months, the easy banter between them.
“Do you like your parents?”
“Is that a trick question?”
“I’m just curious.”
“Well, you answer that question first.”
“Do I like my parents?” he asked, to which she nodded. “My parents are my parents. I’m tired of their meddling ways, always have been.”
“Would you have married me if you could save your company by yourself?”
“Wait, how do you know about the company?” he asked.
“I overheard my father talking about it late one night with my mom. They were pretty pissed with your father seeing as they discovered the failing company part after our engagement was announced. They had to save face, and hope you could turn the company around.”
“No. I’d have married you, Addie.” Reaching across the table, he took her hand. “What you’ve got to realize, baby, is that I picked you.”
“What? No, my parents picked me because of Evangeline—”
“I could have taken the kid as my own, Addie. It has been done before to save a scandal between families. I wanted you, and I was going to have you. My parents told me to marry you, but I’d already made the decision that you were going to be mine.”
“You don’t know anything about me.”
“Doesn’t matter. From the moment I saw you, I wanted you.”
“Do you always get what you want?” she asked.
“We’re married, baby. What does that say?”
She smiled and glanced down at the table.
“I wanted to talk to you about something,” he said, drawing her attention back to him.
“What?”
“Today, in my office, was that the first orgasm you experienced?”
Her cheeks went a beautiful shade of red.
“Yes.”
“I’m an asshole to you.” He’d not given her a proper wedding night, and she deserved a wedding night.
“Don’t worry about it, Shaun.”
“No.” He gritted his teeth, and stared down at the lovely food on his plate. Placing the fork on the food, he got to his feet, and rounded the counter.
“What are you doing?” she asked.
“I’m going to give you the wedding night I should have done.” He took hold of her hand, and pulled her to her feet. Sinking his fingers into her hair, he pulled her head back, and took possession of her lips. Wrapping her blonde tresses around his fist, he tugged her head back, and slammed his lips down on hers, sliding his tongue into her mouth.
She moaned and wrapped her arms around him, holding him tightly. Tugging her close, he pressed his body against hers, and trapped her against the counter. His cock tightened, and all he wanted to do was slide so deep inside her pussy, and to feel how wet she could be. Every other time he was with her, he’d had to use lubrication that he purchased in order to make her ready for him. Tonight, he was going to make sure she was soaking before he took what belonged to him.
“Where’s the bedroom?” he asked.
Chapter Five
Addison gasped as Shaun kicked open her bedroom door. He still held onto her hair, and he wouldn’t let her move away from him. She gripped his hair, and kissed him back with a passion that surprised her.
“You’re so fucking beautiful,” he said, pulling away.
“Shut up and kiss me.” Pressing her body against his, she was shocked by how damn wet she was. All the other times with Shaun, she’d been dry, and not aroused. He was arousing her with his kiss alone.
Suddenly, he released her, grabbed her shirt, and tore it open. Buttons went flying all around the room.
“I’m going to have to pick them up,” she said, chuckling.
“I’ll help you.”
He tugged the shirt from her body before cupping her breasts, and pressing them together.
“I’ve fantasized about these, baby. They’re so full and big, and damn, they make a man wild.” He pressed a kiss on top of each mound, then flicked the catch on the bra. Shaun had never taken any time with her breasts before, always skipping over them as if they didn’t exist. Sex between them had been … boring. She’d hated every second of it, but already she was panting for more.
She didn’t want it to stop.
He pushed her breasts together and sucked each nipple into his mouth.
“Feels so good,” she said, biting her lip.
“I love your tits, baby. I love watching you walk toward me so I can see these beauties bounce, and fuck me, I can’t wait to be inside you.”
It was like all of their other times hadn’t happened.
Gripping his shirt, she tugged it over his head, running her hands all over his bare, muscular chest. She’d never taken the time to explore him before, and she was giving herself the chance to learn every inch of him.
He released her breasts, and started working on the button of her jeans. Kicking her jeans off, she worked on his belt, and within seconds they were both naked.
Shaun grabbed her arm, and pulled her close. He sank his fingers in her hair, tilted her head back, and kissed her. Sucking her bottom lip into his mouth, he let out a groan.
Moaning, she pressed her body against him, feeling his hard body against her nipples. With one hand in her hair, he used his other to cup her ass.
“It has never been like this with us.”
“My fault. You didn’t want me,” he said.
“I did,” she said.
He cupped her ass tightly, making her groan. His cock pressed against her stomach. The hard length was so damn hot.
“I really did.”
Closing her eyes, she gave herself up to the feel of his body against hers. Each little caress built up the fire inside her.
She tried to squeeze her thighs together to give some friction to her pussy. Shaun slid his leg between her thighs, stopping her from moving.
“This belongs to me, baby. Don’t hide from me. I won’t let you.” He cupped her hip, and she moaned with each little touch. He stopped touching her ass and ran his hands around to the front of her pussy. “Open for me.”
Opening her thighs wide, she gave him access to her pussy. He slid his fingers through her wet slit, making her realize how aroused she actually was. She was incredibly wet, and it was all because of him.
As suddenly as he started touching her, he stepped away.
“What’s the matter?” she asked.
“Get on the bed.”
She rounded the bed, and was about to lift up the covers, but his voice stopped her.
“I told you to get on the bed, not into it.”
Glancing across the bed to him, she saw he was waiting for her to do as he asked. Dropping the blanket, she climbed onto the bed.
He’s your husband.
He has seen you naked.
You’ve got nothing to hide.
They always had sex beneath the blankets, and they rarely had the light on.
There was some light from the hallway, and he shocked her even further by turning the light on.
“What are you doing?”
“I want to
be able to see you, Addie.”
“What for?”
“I’m going to watch you when I slide my dick inside you.”
“What’s changed?” She didn’t know what to make of this new husband of hers. Going to her elbows, she watched him crawl up her body, opening her thighs, and pressing a kiss to her stomach. She took in a shaky breath and giggled as his breath fanned across her stomach.
“What has changed is I’m tired of trying to talk to my wife, and not being able to.”
Frowning, she saw he was serious. “I don’t understand.”
“I’ve wanted to talk to you for so damn long. Every time I’ve tried to stop this crap that has been going between this. When I married you, I never wanted to spend time away from you, or just to meet up once a month for sex. I wanted a real marriage. Don’t you?”
Licking her dry lips, she placed her hand on his chest. “I didn’t want the marriage that we’d created for ourselves.” She had wanted a marriage like her grandparents had, a loving one. Her own parents didn’t have a loving marriage. They put up with each other, and that just sucked.
“Do you think it’s possible to love me?” he asked.
“I don’t know.”
He pressed a kiss to her lips. “I want to sell that house. I don’t want that house, and I want us both to have a real marriage, Addie.”
“That’s a lot of wants.”
Shaun smiled. “We deserve a chance to make this work. Tell me you envy your parents. I don’t envy mine.”
“We had an arranged marriage, Shaun.”
“Then let’s make it a real one, not just for us, but for our kids.”
“You think it’s possible for us to have a real marriage? Better than our parents’?” Addison had seen many couples during her walks around the cities, and even in the last couple of weeks from her book interviews. She envied people their relationships. Even Dean and Darla who weren’t together seemed to have an easy connection. Addison had been unsure around Shaun. They’d been married for three years, and only now she was touching him.
“I’m determined to make this work, Addie. There’s no other woman I want, or need. I’ve never cheated on you, and I take my vows seriously.”
Nibbling on her lip, she stared into his dark, almost black eyes. There were a few sparks of brown, and his gaze held her captive as if it was a trap.
