When Melody was done, everyone clapped, and Delaney turned back to face Josh, realizing she’d have to explain the significance to him later. “When this is over,” he whispered in her ear as the adult choir took the stage, “what do you say we go have a cup of Christmas cocoa?”
Delaney smiled, “And some of the world’s best pecan pie?”
“We’ll save that for tomorrow… if you’ll spend Christmas Day at the Taylor Tree Farm.”
Delaney wished she could kiss him right then and there but knew that would also have to wait. “There’s no place in the world I’d rather be,” she assured him. Delaney nestled her head against Josh’s shoulder as the “Hallelujah Chorus” rang out, and she knew spending Christmas Eve with Josh would be a tradition that would last a lifetime.
