“Rat bastard,” she said. “I need to get my children back, Andre. Are you going to help?”

“I have a lot to make up for…” His voice trailed off.

Instead of attacking him verbally while he was down, I kept quiet.

“I’ll call you guys on my number. They don’t know I traced it, so I’ll tell them you probably ditched it.”

  “Thanks, man,” I said.

He waved before turning to exit the room, leaving Tanesha and I to ourselves.

  TWENTY-EIGHT

  Tony

“Are you going to call the kids?” I asked.

“Not yet. I want to hear their voice, but I’m afraid I’ll just cry and scare them. I’ll call them once we have good news.”

I nodded. “That sounds good. I know it’s not as much as you, but I miss them too.”

“That means a lot,” she said, putting her arms around me. “All I’ve ever wanted is a stable family of my own.”

“Want to lay down with me?”

  “Yeah, that sounds nice.”

We got onto the bed, which was way better than anything we’d slept on recently.

“What was your childhood like?” I asked.

  “Okay, I guess. Normal. Yours?”

“It was just my mom and I, so it got pretty tough. She spent all our money on gambling, so I spent a lot of time with my grandmother.”

  “I’ll have to meet her.”

  “She’s gone now,” I said.

  “I’m sorry for your loss.”

“Thanks. It’s been a while, but she used to make the best pizzas ever.”

  “Yeah?”

“Uh huh. She had a secret ingredient for the sauce.”

  “What was it?”

  “A dash of weed.”

  I laughed, remembering her fondly.

“For real? Did it get you high?”

“Not really. She didn’t use a lot. Now that weed’s legal in Colorado, I’ve always thought about opening my own pizza shop with THC pies.”

“That’s a good idea,” she said in a serious tone.

“I was just joking. I’ll not be able to do it unless I won the lottery.”

She got silent for a moment, then said, “It’s hard to resist sometimes but I’m going to try for you and the children.”

“I didn’t mean to bring it up.”

“It’s okay,” she said. “I need to learn to deal with it and change to become a better person.”

“My whole life is changing, and I like it. I’m ready to quit selling and just be a normal person in Colorado.” I paused. “Well, maybe not too normal.”

“Maybe we could save our money and open the shop.”

“I’m not even sure if we’ll have our jobs when we get back. Andre probably didn’t talk to the owners like he said he would.”

  “Yeah, I forgot about that.”

“Don’t worry.” I rolled over on my side to look at her beautiful face. “We’ll be okay.”

She did the same, staring into my eyes. “I know.”

We kissed, her wet, full lips turning me on as they touched mine. I put my hand on her hip.

Someone knocked on the door, jolting us out of the passionate moment.

I slid off the bed and walked over, ready for anything. After looking through the peephole, I calmed down.

“It’s Andre,” I said, opening the door.

He walked in with a worried look on his face.

  “What’s wrong?” I asked.

“I have it set it for Tanesha to serve pizzas at their party tomorrow. She should be able to get them on video bragging once they start drinking.”

“That’s good news,” she said, walking over to us.

I shut the door. “Yeah, what’s wrong?”

“I’m worried for my sister,” he said, clenching his lips together tightly. “These are some rough guys.”

“I’ll be okay,” she said. “You’ll be there too, right?”

“Yeah, but I can’t protect you. If they think I’m double-crossing them, they’ll kill us both.”

“Why did you get involved with them anyway?” she asked.

He took a step away, not looking at us. “I didn’t want to at first.”

“That’s all in the past, man,” I said. “You’re doing the right thing now and that’s what matters.”

“I’ll probably go away too,” he said.

“Oh, so that’s why you’re really worried,” Tanesha said. “Typical Andre.”

“I’m just saying.” He turned around to face us, tears streaming down his face. “I fucked it all up.”

Tanesha went over and hugged him. He put his chin on her shoulder, still sobbing.

I watched, not saying a word or showing emotion myself.

“We’ll talk you up, man.” I took a step forward and put my hand on his shoulder, patting it. “If this crime ring full of bad cops goes as deep as you say it does, you’re going to come out of this a hero.”

“Yeah,” Tanesha said, letting go of him and taking a step back. “We can do this. You’ll be a hero.”

“I ain’t no hero. I’ve done some fucked up things they probably won’t be able to forgive, but it’s time to come clean.”

I watched him closely, wondering if I could truly trust him.

“I’m going to go, but I’ll be back early tomorrow so we can work out the details of our plan. I’ll bring some recording equipment too.”

“Just make sure it’s better quality this time,” I said with a laugh.

“I have some nice wireless stuff that will broadcast live.”

  “We could Periscope it.”

  “What’s that?” he asked.

“Live streaming,” I answered. “That’s a good idea, Tanesha. I’m just not liking sending you in there.”

“If anything goes wrong, I’ll just tell them it’s broadcasting live. They probably won’t do anything,” she said.

“Probably isn’t good enough for me when it comes to you.”

“Yeah,” Andre said, backing me up. “I’ll think this through some more tonight, and we’ll talk tomorrow.”

“Sounds good,” I said. “Thanks, bro.”

Tanesha squeezed my hand at the familial term.

Andre nodded his head at me before walking to the door.

  “Bye, Andre,” Tanesha called out.

He lifted a hand in the air without turning around. Once he left, I turned to her.

“Are you sure you want to do this?”

“We don’t really have a choice at this point.”

“No, we always have a choice,” I insisted. “We need to be smart about this.”

“I want to call the children so bad,” she said.

  “Do it,” I said.

“Is it safe for them and us?”

“I don’t see why not. Tell you what. I’m going to go downstairs for a bit and get us some food. You call them and talk all you want.”

She leaned up and kissed me. “Thank you.”

I went downstairs to scrounge up some food. In the elevator on the way down, I smelled pot on the three college-aged women riding with me.

“That smells good,” I said bravely.

  They giggled.

“You’re not a cop are you?” one asked.

I shook my head. “No, not at all. You got some extra to sell?”

“You’re cute,” she said, causing her two friends to giggle uncontrollably.

“I’m about to marry the love of my life, but thanks.”

“Aww,” she said. “That’s cute. Let me give you a doobie.”

“I can pay for it,” I said.

She shook her head. “No. I don’t sell, but I’ll give you some. That’s the stoner way.”

A smile spread over my face as she reached into her purse.

Crap, I thought suddenly. What if she’s a cop or a narc?

After Tony left the room, I got out Andre’s pho
ne and dialed Kendrick. He answered on the first ring.

  “Andre?”

“No, stupid. It’s me again,” I said.

“Where’s Andre? What’s going on with you two?”

“Don’t worry about it. I want to speak to my children.”

  “They’re my kids too.”

  “Unfortunately.”

  “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“You know damn well what it means.”

“You’re not talking to them,” he said.

“Put them on the phone now, Kendrick,” I demanded.

“No. You can’t boss me around. Until I get my next check, you’re not talking to them at all.”

  “What next check?”

  “Ask Andre.”

“So, it’s true? He’s been paying your child support?”

  My ex-husband laughed. “You’re a dumb bitch, aren’t you?”

“Put Michael and Destiny on the phone now,” I said firmly.

“If I don’t get my money, you’re not talking to them ever again.”

“That’s not how it works. You’ll let me talk to them right now, or…”

  He disconnected the call.

Fucking asshole, I thought, redialing his number. He did not pick up.

I threw the phone across the room and screamed. Anger and rage boiled inside me, but it quickly turned to sadness. Curled up in a fetal position on the floor, I bawled my eyes out, all the stress of my life hitting me at the same time. In that moment, a small part of me wanted to die.

The door to the room opened, but I didn’t move. I felt Tony’s strong hand on my arm.

  “Are you okay? What’s wrong?”

“He wouldn’t let me talk to them,” I sobbed.

He rubbed my back. “It’ll be okay. We’ll get them back.”

  “I miss them.”

I sat up and threw my arms around him, never wanting to let him go.

“I know. Me too. We’ll see them soon. You need to relax.”

He took me by the shoulders and pushed me away.

  “I have something to help.”

Mixed emotions ran through me as he pulled out two thick joints.

  “Where did you get those?”

“A few college kids in the elevator.”

“Guys or girls?” I asked, taking one of them from him.

“They were young women, but I wasn’t…”

“Sure, sure,” I interrupted. “I don’t like smoking a lot, but I think this might help me relax.”

“We just need to get through tomorrow, and we’ll figure out everything else,” he said.

“Light this, please,” I said, standing up.

I walked over to the bed and laid down on my back, my head propped up with two pillows. He joined me, lighting the joint on the way.

“Here,” he said, some smoke spilling out of his mouth as he spoke.

After taking the joint from him, I put it to my mouth and inhaled, holding in the smoke.

A moment later, I coughed, already feeling the buzz.

  “Wow, that’s strong.”

  “Not bad,” he said.

I took another hit before handing it to him. We smoked all of the first one and set the second one on the nightstand next to the bed.

The cloud of smoke above the bed swirled around.

“It’s like watching clouds when I was a kid,” I said. “Did you do that?”

“All the time. I’ve always been a dreamer.”

“Me too. I think that’s why we get along so well.”

“We’re a couple of super heroes who are going to bring down the bad-guys tomorrow. I’m still not sure if I like the idea of you going in there on your own.”

“Andre will be there with me, and you’ll be outside. I’ll be fine. Bad cops need to be taken down. Maybe we’ll get a reward.”

  “Wouldn’t that be something?”

I giggled. “It would make all this craziness worth it.”

  “Right?”

His hand moved to my thigh.

“Mmm,” I moaned as he squeezed it gently.

“I think I know of a better way to relax.”

“Yeah?” he asked, his hand moving between my legs.

  “Remember my first time smoking?”

“How could I forget,” he said, sitting up.

He bent and kissed me on the lips. All the tension inside me began to drift away as his tongue slipped into my mouth.

The weed began to take hold of my mind as his hand moved to my left breast, squeezing it. I took a deep breath as he slipped it beneath my shirt.

I felt his cool fingers against my bare skin. He pinched a nipple while still kissing me.

“Go down on me,” I begged breathlessly.

A smile came over his face as he crawled between my legs on the bed. I spread them apart even further as he unbuttoned my pants. After sliding them and my red panties off, he ran his hands up and down my legs, admiring me.

I loved the look of lust and hunger in his eyes. He treated me like a lady, but at the same time he knew how to be just rough enough. Dropping to his stomach, he kissed me inner thighs, one then the other, slowly approaching my pussy.

When his tender, soft lips finally brushed against my most sensitive skin, I arched my back, pressing myself into his face. He lapped and licked at me, driving me wild with every touch of his skin against mine. The rest of the world – all my problems – vanished in that moment.

All I could concentrate on was his touch. He pushed two fingers into my tight, wet hole, moving them in and out slowly and sensually. I put my hand on the back of his head and pressed him down as he ate me out and fucked me with two digits at the same time.

Ecstatic feelings of pleasure spread throughout my body, emanating from my just behind my clitoris. The friction built up as he quickened his pace, licking, sucking and kissing my magic nub with a firm, broad tongue. I screamed out as an orgasm hit me.

The world went away for a brief moment or two before my body shook and my pussy clenched around his fingers. He pulled them out slowly, looking up at my face – his wet with my juices.

  “Fuck me,” I said hungrily.

He crawled up my body, kissing my stomach, my breasts, my lips. Already hard, his cock found my hole magically. As he pushed it in all the way, I watched his face contort in pleasure. I smiled as I grabbed my ankles and pulled my legs back even more.

  “I love you,” I said.

This caused him to start thrusting even faster. I felt his pubic hair brushing against my clitoris, teasing it.

“Yes, baby,” I moaned in a sexy tone. “Come for me.”

His eyes squinted and his hard, thick cock throbbed deep inside. He groaned as his body stiffened. I held onto him tightly.

We enjoyed a magical moment. I stared into his eyes and saw part of his soul.

“I want to grow old with you,” he said, reading my mind.

  I nodded. “I accept.”

“I wanted to be more romantic, but…”

“I said yes, dummy,” I teased, laughing.

He pulled out of my pussy slowly then settled onto the mattress next to me. I cuddled up against him.

“I’m still nervous and anxious about tomorrow, but that helped.”

“I’m a man of many talents,” he said.

I laughed despite all the stress quickly returning to my mind as I thought about my children and what I had to do to get back to them.

We fell asleep together after cleaning up. Both of us were exhausted and wanted to rest up before we tried to bring down a gang and a bunch of crooked cops.

I adjusted the flower pinned to my tight shirt.

  “Is that better?”

“That’s good,” Tony said, looking at a laptop with Andre.

“And it’s all set up to stream live once I get in there with them?”

“We’re good to go.” Andre stood up. “I should get to the party before
they start.”

“Keep an eye on her, man,” Tony said.

Andre nodded his head at him before he walked out of the room.

“Are you sure you want to do this?” Tony asked.

  “It’s our only option.”

  “We could run, but…”

“I’m not leaving my children behind. These guys need to pay so we can get on with our lives.”

He set the laptop to his side and stood, walking over to me.

“Be careful,” I said as he put his arms around my waist.

“You look so damn hot right now.”

I smiled. “Let’s hope the crooked cops think so.”

“Remember to get them drinking then try to make them want to brag about their exploits.”

“I know how to control men,” I said.

He kissed me on the lips before letting go.

I adjusted my short skirt one last time before picking up the stack of pizza boxes. As I walked through the door of the bar closed for the private party, I could feel dozens of eyes on my ass. The smell of stale beer and cigar smoke filled the air.

“What do we have here, guys?” a rotund man with three chins asked the crowd before turning to me. “Hey, sweetheart. You got some pie for us?”

A few other drunk men laughed. I smiled, turning on the charm.

“My pizza pies are piping hot.”

I winked at him. He cheered as I continued to the large table set up in middle of the bar. After sitting the pizza boxes down, I spun around.

“Come and get it, boys. Nice and hot like you like it.”

Dozens of drunk police officers stumbled to the table, many of them rubbing against my body. I forced myself to smile while looking around for my prey as they devoured the pizza. It didn’t take me long to figure out the alphas in the room and their pecking order.

With a sway in my hips, I made my way to a table in the corner where a balding man drank alone.

“I don’t want any fucking pizza,” he said as I sat down across from him.

“I’m not here to give you pizza,” I said, smiling coyly.

He examined me with his eyes, obviously stripping my clothes off me in his mind.
