[Churchminster #3] Wild Things Page 33

by Jo Carnegie

Clementine smiled as her granddaughter’s chatter faded down the corridor. Getting up, she walked over to the bureau and unlocked the drawer. The card from the flowers lay there, just as she had left it.

‘Hey sexy. Have you forgiven me yet? I’m coming back over to the UK for a bit and I’d love to meet up. Call me. I still think about you. Rafe X’

Clementine had met enough leopards in her life to know they never changed their spots. Without a second thought, she dropped the card in the bin, with the rest of the rubbish.

  THE END

  Acknowledgements

First and foremost, thank you to the two lovely women in my life who make this all happen, my editor Sarah Turner at Transworld and my agent Amanda Preston. Also a huge thanks to Emma Messenger, who gets more ‘ideal’ with every Churchminster story, Jo Hoare for her amazing tractor driving and the Grandpa Hoare shooting-stick stories, Kate Towns and Josh Yudkin for all their expertise on film sets, and Tim Barrett-Jolly for his wine knowledge. (With a name like that he should be in one of my books.) Much appreciation to Michelle Beynon and the staff of Cardiff hospital, to Gill Linley, the First Lady of the Cotswolds and to Christian Lang for his French translations, Oh, and I have to make an apology to heat magazine’s Kay Ribiero for implying in the last book that the lift sex scene idea was anything to do with her. Kay, your name has been cleared! All my lovely friends and readers, you’re brilliant, every last one of you. Finally, thank you to JT for putting up with my ‘creative’ moods, and the Carnegie clan, the best bonkers family I could wish for.
