The Lizarda jumps onto Danny, holds him down, and attempts to slash him. Danny puts his assault rifle up to block the attack. He puts up his knee as he kicks the Lizarda away, the creature lands on the floor. It gets up quickly and wall jumps off the wall towards Danny ready to strike again. He steps to the side and quickly pulls out his survival knife.
Using the knife he stabs the Lizarda in the heart as it approaches him.
“Nice try lizard freak, but you gotta try harder than that!” He says boastfully.”
Before he could start to explore the room, he feels a bite sensation on his back. When he turns around, he finds a flea drainer biting on him. He quickly shakes it off and the creature lands on the bed. The creature tries to slash him with its claw and he ducks under the attack. After ducking, he kills the flea drainer with his assault rifle.
Looking around to make sure that there aren’t anymore surprises, he finds that there are no more creatures hiding. So he explores the room and other than medical documents, the room is empty of anything useful.
He heads towards middle room and sees a couple of dead bodies on the floor. Upon examination the bodies look lifeless and Danny doesn’t think much of them. When he sees a blue herb, he goes to recover it. However, one of the bodies isn’t actually dead, it’s a zombie.
The zombie grabs Danny by the legs and begins to bite him.
“No! Get away from me you freak!” He says while he shoots the zombie dead.
Condition: Caution (Level 1)
Despite taking some damage he decides to save his first aid spray for when he really needs it. He heads to the blue herb.
Picked up a blue herb.
There is nothing else for him in the room, so he heads to the final room down the hall. He enters the room and to his shock the room is empty. He takes a second look just to make sure the room is empty. Looking in one of the medicine cabinets he finds something useful.
Picked up a test tube. You’ll need this to store the vaccine when you find it.
“Cool, found myself a test tube. Looks like it’s time to head deeper into this hell hole. I gotta hurry before that virus spreads further into Maria’s body.” He says as he rushes back to the elevator.
Before he could get to the elevator though, he senses a noise behind him. Danny turns around and sees the claw of a Flea Drainer ready to cut his head off. He backflips away from the flea drainer and shoots the creature. Out of nowhere one of the glass windows break and a flesher pops from the first room.
Assault Rifle Ammo: 89%
“So much for bulletproof windows, Hybrid has certainly outdone themselves!” Danny is amazed by the power of the mutated creatures.
The flesher sticks out its tongue and the extremely sharp tongue hits Danny on his stomach. The tongue doesn’t hit him dead on, but enough to give a pretty good cut to his stomach. Danny pulls out his knife just in case the flesher gets close. The flesher goes for another tongue attack, but Danny wall runs avoiding the attack and jumps on the back of the pink flesher.
“Die you bastard!” He says as he stabs the flesher on its back killing it.
After he defeats the flesher he says in a bit of pain, “Damn that monster hit me good. I better find something to cover this injury and fast.”
When he gets to the elevator, he presses the button to take him down to the basement. When he gets to the basement, he sees a few zombies in a dark hallway. He uses one of his incendiary grenades to burn the zombies and give him a little more light.

Other than a couple of busted gas pipes blowing gas out, there is nothing useful in the hallway. There is only one door in the hallway leading to the medicine room, so he enters the room. When he enters the room he hears a gunshot and rushes to the situation. Nicolai has his gun drawn at Danny and he tries to stop Nicolai from shooting.
“Wait it’s me! Why did you shoot him? That’s Tyler!” Danny asks Nicolai.
“Sorry Danny, I thought you were another one of those zombie things just like the thing I killed.” Nicolai answers.
“He looked like he was still normal to me… By the way that thing was our team member.” Danny replies.
“Perhaps, but he was exposed to the virus. So he would eventually turn into one of those zombie things anyway. Besides he’s better off dead than living a life of a zombie. You’re alive I see…” Nicolai answers.
“Yeah, why do you look surprised and where were you when the helicopter came?” Danny asks.
“I was pinned down in the Bell Tower. A horde of zombies had me surrounded before I could get inside. I heard that monster shot the chopper down and I thought you along with the girl would be inside. Just consider yourself lucky that you were not in that chopper when you were supposed to.” Nicolai answers sternly in his Slavic accent.
“What are you doing now?” Danny asks.
“Using my phone to gather data so that I can report back to HQ, after gathering this data we can find ways to combat the outbreak.
“Combat the outbreak? Nicolai, don’t your realize we have no way out of here? Or is there something I’m missing?” Danny asks Nicolai more questions.
“There will be another chopper waiting at the top of Highland Park, just be there.” Nicolai answers.
“You sure it’s not another trap? You seem so calm after what has happened to us so far. It almost seems like you could care less about what happens to us as long as you survive or you still think Hybrid is your friend?” Danny begins to become suspicious.
“I’m calm because there’s no reason to be so tense. I know what I’m doing, just trying to survive.” Nicolai becomes defensive.
“I guess you’re right, after all survival is paramount. I’ll meet you at Highland I guess.” Danny replies while Nicolai simply ignores him.
He sees a cloth and applies it to his injury covering the wound.
Danny begins to explore the room and sees a locked door leading to the vaccine preparation room. Then he sees a computer terminal and he accesses it.
Cypress Hills Community Hospital vaccine room terminal -
Please enter the password to unlock the door…
Danny tries a password from the top of his head.

Checking Password… Approving Password… Password Denied!
“Crud I should had known that it wouldn’t be that easy.” Danny says.
He checks the desk for any passwords or any papers with the password but no such luck. He does find something else on the desk.
Picked up +6 Grenade Rounds(Standard).
“These should be useful for Maria.” He says.
Next to the grenade rounds, he spots a control to turn on the television on the ceiling. He turns on the television and sees an advertisement for Hybrid’s newest “cure”.
“We like to introduce ‘Bok’, our newest addition to Hybrid’s family of products. This product promises to make you look 10 years younger and gets rid of wrinkles in less than an hour. Right now it’s under development but we expect Bok to be out for the summer of 2014! Prepare to go back in time, quite literally as well!”
When he uses the remote further, he notices the only thing the television shows is the same ad. He becomes suspicious that this hospital is either funded by Hybrid, is a Hybrid facility disguised as a city property or the city of New York just made a deal with the devil himself.
“Son of a bitch, this hospital could just be a front for Hybrid to spread their influence to this part of town.” Danny begins to suspect something is wrong and perhaps Nicolai isn’t all about helping out the cause.
He heads back to the computer and tries to use the new name Bok as the password.

Checking Password… Approving Password… Password Accepted!
Door to vaccine preparation room is now unlocked…
The panel beeps indicating the door is unlocked. He heads into the room as Nicolai continues to study Tyler’s body.
As he walks into the brownish hallway with gas pipes around him, he spots a door with a hazmat symbol on it. He enters the room and spots a couple of Lizarda’s inside. Using his assault rifle and the element of surprise, he kills both creatures.
Danny is inside the vaccine preparation room. The room has many capsules, most of which contain vaccines and medicines to cure common illnesses. The room is white and the lighting is white to help workers see what they’re doing. All of the workers inside are dead, but something catches Danny’s eyes.
“What is this? Bok! Hmm… looks like these guys are working on Hybrid’s new ‘cure’ after all. These boxes are from Hybrid as well. This is starting to feel like a rat trap. I better get out of here quickly for my own good as well.” Danny becomes worried.
He approaches the vaccine preparation room and sees a document to create the cure for the “Broken Arrow” virus.
Instructions to create the DEVIL vaccine
“To create the vaccine code-named DEVIL, the preparer must create the base vaccine in the Vaccine Preparation Room in the basement. The base vaccine will be white as all of our vaccines start out with this vaccine.
After obtaining the base vaccine, the preparer must go down to the sub-basement with permission from one of Hybrid’s supervisors. The supervisor shall open the sub-basement inside the elevator and escort the supervisor to the laboratory. Under no circumstances should any doctor, nurse, or scientist be allowed in the lab without a supervisor present. Also a supervisor must escort the preparer, not a scientist assigned to the sub-basement.
Once access to the lab is granted the preparer will use the VTM (Vaccine Transformation Machine) and set it to create the DEVIL vaccine. The red and orange buttons must be pressed in that same order or the creation will fail.
After pressing the buttons correctly, the machine will take about one minute to create the vaccine. The vaccine will be red in color, which is fine. If the vaccine is orange in color that indicates the buttons were reversed and the process must be done from the beginning. Then apply the vaccine to the host.”
Danny inserts the test tube into the machine and the base vaccine is created.
Picked up Base Vaccine.
After picking up the vaccine, he hears a loud noise and hears Nicolai screaming.
“Nicolai!” Danny screams and gets no answer.
When he gets back to the hallway he sees a large horde of zombies enter.
“There’s too many of them to kill off!” He says panicking, but then sees something that could save him.
“Wait a minute… that valve, too much pressure and the pipe will burst. Well, I hate to cause destruction, but I gotta survive!” Danny says as he shoots the pipe.
When he shoots the pipe, a large amount of very hot steam comes out burning the skin of the zombies. He is unable to get out of the hallway as the steam could burn through his skin. After a minute passes, the steam does go down and eventually dissipates.
When he gets out of the hall, he sees Nicolai is gone.
“Nicolai? Nicolai, where are you? It looks like he at least got away from the zombies. I can’t help though by the way he was acting that he has something to hide. Poor Tyler, it hurts me to think he didn’t have to die, but then again I can see his skin was turning pale. However, I got a bad feeling Nicolai is not being truthful and might be plotting against me and Maria. Does he know about Maria and Hybrid is paying him to get rid of her? Hmm… just something else I have to think about.” Danny begins to question the integrity of the leader of his squad.
He spots a key where Nicolai was before.
Picked up an Elevator Key. This key is used to gain access to the Sub-Basement.
“Hmm… very suspicious, what was Nicolai doing with this key? Could it be that he is actually a supervisor pretending to be a HBCS leader.” Danny picks up the key and more questions pop into his head.
He heads to the elevator and inserts the key to the sub-basement. He figures there must be something big down there if a supervisor is needed to access the lab. When he reaches the sub-basement he is immediately in the laboratory. He sees the lab and is shocked what is in the capsules. The capsules are full of Hybrid experiments such as the Lizarda, web spinner, flesher, zombie dogs, and an unfamiliar one called the frogger which is a Lizarda that looks like a frog.
Danny’s Journal – September 10, 2013
“This is disgusting! I can’t believe they would use Highland Park as beautiful as it is as an excuse to fund their sick experiments. I’m indeed ashamed that I worked for such a company like Hybrid who thrive on using people for their personal gain. I’ve been used, the public has been used, and heck even city of New York has been used.
I gotta admit this is the biggest swindle in mankind. This hospital is only a scratch of what Hybrid has done. It’s clear these people have no shame and I feel terrible that there is nothing I can do to stop these snakes from bombing my hometown. I feel partly responsible for even joining the brigade, although it’s comforting to know Maria believes I’m innocent.
Now I know what my mother told me, not every job is good, and not everything is about money. I failed to listen to her. Then again, Hybrid did a good job swindling me and the rest of the world.
I wonder can I even trust Nicolai anymore. It’s starting to seem that I have to watch my back now more than ever.”
He spots the VTM machine and inserts the base vaccine into the machine.

After pressing the buttons required according to the manual, he waits for the vaccine to be created. As the machine begins to warm up, he hears the elevator running back down and he pulls out his weapon just in case. However, when he sees one of his own men come out, he’s relieved.
“Thomas! Am I glad to see you, what’s going on?” Danny says relieved.
“Not good brother, that monster has decimated my men to the point where it’s only me.” Thomas replies.
“I found a survivor along the way, listen why don’t you tag along with us. We can always use an extra man, besides I need someone to watch my back. Nicolai is acting very weird so far.” Danny comes up with a plan.
“That old man is always acting weird, it’s his age.” Thomas jokily says.
As the two continue to talk an ivy sneaks up on Thomas. The creature opens its huge mouth and prepares to bit Thomas’s head.
“Thomas behind you!” Danny tries to warn Thomas about the ivy behind him. However, the ivy has already bitten Thomas’s head by the time he’s able to turn around. “NO! Thomas!” Danny screams as he loses another member of his squad.
Ivies are plant monsters that are able to walk slowly and have long reaching vines capable of grabbing their victims. They’re also able to spit toxic spit at their victims poisoning them and their mouths are also big enough to bite off an entire human head in one bite.
Danny stares at the ivy that killed his teammate and he begins to shoot it with his assault rifle. However, the bullets seem to do very little to the creature.
Assault Rifle Ammo: 86%
The ivy counters with a vine whip that misses Danny. He jumps over one of the tables to get some space and tries to shoot the ivy again with no success.
The creature uses its vines to grab Danny and once it grabs him it spits its poisonous projectile at him.
Condition: Poison
He begins to feel slightly weaker just like when Maria was poisoned. The ivy whips him again down to the floor.
“Damn this plant is kicking my ass. There’s gotta be a way to defeat this plant freak.” Danny says to himself.
Then it hits him, plants are weak against fire or ice. He has incendiary grenades that he could try.
“Hey plant freak eat this!” Danny screams as he pulls the pin an
d throws the grenade.
Incendiary Grenades: 3
The grenade burns through the shell of the creature and in no time the ivy begins to burn until it turns into ashes. Danny hears a loud beep indicating that the vaccine is done and ready to for action.
He gets down and takes the blue herb to use it to cure his poison condition.
Danny uses a blue herb.
Condition: Caution (Level 1)
Picked up the DEVIL Vaccine. This should cure Maria.
He also grabs a syringe so he can apply the vaccine to Maria when he gets to her. After grabbing the virus, he hears the ceiling crack and Nemesis pops out to Danny’s shock.
“What the hell are you? Do you ever give up? More importantly what do you want?” Danny asks questions although he knows he shouldn’t expect any answers.
This time though Nemesis doesn’t have its black trench coat and it’s right hand is full of tentacles that can grab anyone from a distance. Danny begins to unload on Nemesis and to no surprise the creature doesn’t budge. Nemesis tries to grab Danny with its tentacles, but he slides under a table getting away.
Assault Rifle Ammo: 82%
“Oooo Danny!!!” Nemesis yells.
Nemesis runs towards Danny and grabs him. Nemesis attempts to insert the virus into Danny. However, he’s able to kick his way out of the grab and runs to get away from the creature. He uses one of his grenades to burn Nemesis. The creature kneels down and is in flames. Danny doesn’t bother to look back and he hops into the elevator heading back up to the reception.
Incendiary Grenades: 2
“That was too close! At least I got the vaccine, just hang in there Maria.” Danny says catching his breath.
He hears a continuous beeping sound coming from the receptionist desk. Not knowing what it could be he heads towards the desk…
Chapter 11
Danny begins to hear the beeping sound become louder as he approaches the desk. When he gets to the desk, he looks under the desk and spots a bomb under the desk with only 15 seconds left to get out.
