“Believe me, Samantha, there’s nothing I want more than you, but I need to make some arrangements before we land.” His lips vibrated against mine.
“I figured you weren’t a spontaneous kind of guy.”
Before I could smile, Gabe crushed me from above. His tender lips firmed on contact, forcing my mouth to open. His tongue took control.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him on top of me. The duvet cover separating us was too much. His body molded to mine as his tempting mouth teased me with offers that could only be fulfilled below my belt.
He lingered before letting go. Hunger beamed from his eyes. “Was that spontaneous enough for you?”
“Yes.” I leaned in for another kiss, but Gabe held back.
“I’m sorry, Sam, but if I don’t go now you’re going to experience a different kind of touch down.”
“But that’s the kind I want.” I quickly stole another sweet kiss.
“I need to get organized before we land. But I promise you, if spontaneity is what you want, that’s what you’ll get.”
“Promises, promises.”
“I never break a promise, Samantha.”
Gabe kissed me once more and left.
I fell back on the bed and truly felt like I was in heaven, floating on cloud nine. Everything would be perfect if my libido could calm down when Gabe was around—otherwise I would combust in front of him.
After we landed, Gabe helped the men pack a Hummer limo. He was serious while leaving final instructions for his crew, but each time he looked at me, the fire in his silver eyes glowed, sparkling a new flame of desire inside me.
Kendra sat in the car, her hands folded across her chest. It seemed in turmoil. One minute, her mouth would curve up into a smile then she would frown.
I stretched my legs. The fresh pair of pink sweats I had stuffed into my duffel bag still smelled of lavender.
When Gabe joined us, it took all my strength not to straddle him again. I distracted myself with the luscious green countryside as we drove. Curious thoughts rushed through me as I thought about Kendra, our proposal of a threesome, and Gabe. I wondered what would happen on this island. I’d just met Gabe two weeks ago, and what I’d wanted then was changing with each minute I’d spent with him. To top it off, Martinez wanted us dead.
Gabe’s heated stare hadn’t left me for a moment. And, as much as Kendra’s naked body paralyzed me each time I thought about it, I could no longer see myself with her. At least, not without Gabe’s approval.
By the time we arrived at the house, the morning sun was an orange glow in the sky. We’d already lost twenty-four hours on our trip.
The limo slowed before entering a security gate. Beyond, a swirling path paved the way. Trees lined both sides of the driveway, leading into a black forest. The property seemed to extend for miles.
I peeked through the windshield as the driver circled around a fountain and pulled in front of the house. When Gabe said we’d be staying at a country home, I had expected a small getaway bungalow. Instead, I stared at a mansion made of glass.
Tall metal columns supported the roof of the porch. Glass walls covered most of the front of the house, the interior exposed to anyone outside.
“This is our private residence.” Gabe opened the trunk and began unloading.
Gabe must have meant secluded residence because there was nothing private about the floor to ceiling windows in place of exterior walls. From the front door, a hallway stretched to the back of the house and a lush, green yard. Beyond was a blue mirror of still water.
Charlie stepped out of the limo to help him. “I got it, sir.”
“Thank you, Charles.”
“You own this place?” I asked.
“The business does. Cross Enterprises. Kendra, you can have Tristan’s quarters. Sam is staying with me.” He placed his arm around my shoulder.
“How convenient for you.” She threw him a dirty look. “How long will you keep me imprisoned here?”
“That’s up to you. Share what you know about the drugs and we can go back home. And, I need to be sure you won’t use again.”
“But I don’t know anything.” She fluttered her lashes innocently.
“Right, then I hope you enjoy your vacation. Carla’s in the guest room beside yours. Listen to her and we’ll get along just fine.”
She stomped toward the door like a little kid, frowning and pouting.
I chuckled watching her go inside and up the glass staircase. Kendra didn’t seem to care that we could see the under curve of her behind as she walked. In fact, I was sure it was her goal to be exposed.
“She doesn’t like this, does she?”
“No.” Gabe shook his head. “But we had no choice, and trust me, Kendra will come around after Carla cleanses her system. She loves this house too much. Let’s go inside.” Gabe held open the double glass door.
As soon as he stepped in, he removed his flip-flops. It only took one glance at his bare feet and my mind went into over drive how I could brace myself against them while he hovered above me. What was it about his feet that made me tingle all over every time I saw them? I removed my shoes as well, but wished I had socks on. My limbs, for some reason, were cold in this heat.
“Exactly how big is this place?” I asked, looking around.
“Over six thousand square feet. This is our smaller vacation home.”
“You have a bigger one?”
“Four, to be exact. We need places to get away from work once in a while.”
“But we are working. On Kendra. Aren’t we?”
He smiled. “That depends on how you want to work her.”
Heat rushed to my cheeks. Even if Gabe had told me he only wanted his hands on me and mine on him, I could imagine him living out the dream of any male to have a threesome. Did Gabe expect me to continue what I’d started at the club? Was the offer we discussed genuine after all, or simply play? The thought of a game excited me.
Gabe lead me into the kitchen where a gray marble counter glistened, reflecting its polished surface in the mirror above. I’d never seen a mirror in a kitchen and pitied whoever had to clean it. It almost looked infinite and blended in with the glass walls. A table was set with bowls of fruit, pastries, croissants and muffins. The smell of coffee hit me like a brick wall, and my gaze darted to the kitchen corner where last drops brewed.
He took his phone out of his pocket and quickly typed something before tucking it away.
“Carla also prepared some food. If you need anything she’ll be staying in the guest bedroom beside Kendra’s. Otherwise, we have the whole house to ourselves.” Gabe strolled to the coffee maker and poured a cup while adding milk at the same time. If there was anything Gabe was good at, it was multi-tasking. He poured a black cup for himself. “Here.”
“How did you know what I like in my coffee?” I asked.
“I own a P.I. agency, Sam. Give me some credit. And, I had what you had at the coffee shop in New York.” He winked.
I took the mug out of his hands. The warmth reminded me how cold my hands had been. I needed another hot shower to warm up.
Gabe set his cup of coffee aside. He stepped behind me and rubbed my shoulders. “I’m glad you didn’t shower with Kendra.”
“How did you know?”
His hand glided to my neck and over the swell of my breasts. He touched the first button on my shirt, and I remembered the transmitter on my dress in the bathroom.
“Did you hear everything?” I asked, aware of every curve of his body behind me.
“Yes, I’m sorry for eavesdropping. I thought Kendra would open up to you.”
“You heard me talking about you.”
“I’m not ready for a relationship either, Sam.” He turned me around. “But it doesn’t mean I don’t care about you.” He kissed my forehead, trailing down to my nose and lips. “Or your mouth.” His finger grazed toward my chin, along my neck and down my cleavage. “Your perky tits.” The delicate pad
of his finger dragged lower, to my navel. “Your smooth skin.”
I closed my eyes as he awoke my every sensor.
“And that little nest I promised to nourish.” He cupped my sex.
Gosh, I wanted him so much. I squeezed the mug to stop my shakes. Gabe made me feel so comfortable in an uncomfortable way.
His lips gently touched mine. The taste of black coffee lingered on his mouth.
The kiss spun my mind as if I had been drinking all night.
His palm molded the swelling flesh between my legs adding to my disoriented state. “You’re shaking.” He pulled away.
Don’t stop. I opened my eyes.
His hands rubbed up and down the side of my arms.
“I’m cold.”
“You feel pretty hot to me.”
“That’s all your doing.” I blamed him shamelessly, but that was the truth. No one had ever made me feel so good and bad at the same time. The way he spoke so openly about my body was something Casey would have never done.
“I like the way your body reacts to my touch.”
“You have a magical touch.”
“I intend to use some more magic soon. Third bedroom to the left is mine. You can either stay with me, or use the guest room beside it.”
“I think I’ll use the guest room,” I teased.
“I can’t promise I won’t magically appear there too.”
I giggled.
“Whatever you choose, make yourself comfortable. I’ll unpack and be there soon. Try to relax, Sam. It looks like we’ll be here for a while.” He kissed me again.
My cold feet drew my concentration toward the streaks of sun streaming through the windows. “How do you have any privacy with the glass walls?”
Gabe touched a button on the wall. The entire front window of the house tinted. “Kendra will be sleeping off the drugs soon. We should have some private time to ourselves.”
The thought had me nervous and excited at the same time. I was now in the safest place possible, away from Martinez, with the hottest man alive and he wanted me.
“I’d like to freshen up.”
“My bedroom has an en suite. It’s much more comfortable than the bathroom beside the guestroom.” He raised his brows.
Of course it did. I couldn’t expect Gabe’s bedroom to have anything less than five-star resort accommodations. “You’re making my choice so difficult, Mr. Silver.”
“Enjoy your bath, Samantha.” He kissed me and sent me up the steps with a gentle slap on my behind. The sting of his palm zapped through me as a pleasurable burn.
Upstairs, Gabe’s bedroom was simply decorated, less colorful, and much more elegant. White and gray linens stood out against the green backdrop outside. I stepped closer to the window. A blue circular bay decorated the horizon, and I pushed on a metal handle to step out onto the balcony. The serenity of this home was breathtaking. A stone walkway led to a private white sand beach where a boat was docked at the shore. In the distance, a peaceful breeze ruffled the perfect mirror of water. The bay was secluded on both sides by green hilltops, which I assumed were part of the property. No one could access this beach unless they swam here.
The faint smell of chlorine drew my attention to an infinity pool below. Its surface mimicked the dance of the wind with ripples and gentle waves. I loved it here, and I wondered how Kendra had kept this place a secret.
In the bathroom, I flapped my frozen feet toward a freestanding bathtub set dead center in the room. I turned on the knob and added bubble mix. The exterior wall stretched to the outside. The location of the glass purposefully faced tall trees for privacy. Steam rose in minutes, and I dipped my ice-cold toes in the water. Heat flowed up my body. The soothing lavender and lilac aroma relaxed my muscles. I closed my eyes, feeling warmth penetrate my skin down to the bones.
Could it really be possible to consider a getaway from a mobster a vacation? With Gabe at my side, I found it easy to relax and forget why we’d come here. I trusted Gabe like I hadn’t trusted anyone before. It had been so long since anyone had taken care of me the way he had. I’d been independent since the day my mother was hospitalized. The day I left for college. Right after Kevin passed I shut down and only now, with Gabe guiding me, I felt my walls slowly crumble.
Now, Gabe stepped in as if straight out of my dreams. I never thought life with a man could be so safe and fulfilling, even when possible death loomed. The only life I’d known was one where I had to provide for my boyfriend and serve him like a maid. It was a life where a painful memory I didn’t want to have ruled my choices. But so much had changed since I met the man standing in front of me.
“Are you enjoying the view?” Gabe’s voice startled me. He strolled toward the other end of the tub, wearing a towel wrapped below his hips bones.
I held my breath. The perfect triangle of his pelvis showed just above the white fabric. He was perfectly sculpted. His abs looked painted on.
I wanted to run my fingers along the dips and valleys between the muscles, down to the delicious curve under the towel. “Yes.” I smiled.
“Outside, Sam. The outside.” He smirked.
“That too.” I felt a little braver.
“May I join you?”
I’d never bathed with a man before.
“Yes.” I didn’t expect my vocal chords to shake so much, but the thought of Gabe, in the tub with me, boiled my blood. Bubbles covered me just above my breasts, but underneath the fluffy soap, every inch of my skin turned into a sensor wanting to connect with Gabe’s hot body.
Gabe tugged at the rim of his towel and it slid to the marble floor, freeing him in all his glory.
CHAPTER 12
There was so much to look at. I couldn’t help but stare. Even though I’d already seen him and had him inside me, it was still a sight I couldn’t get enough of.
He stepped into the tub and sat at the opposite end. The water level lifted to my neck, almost spilling over the sides.
He reached forward and pushed my chin up. “Close that mouth of yours, Sam. It drives me crazy when you open it. I just want to kiss it.”
“Then I have to forget to close it more often.” I opened it a bit wider than normal.
“Be careful what you ask for, Sam.”
Underneath the bubbles, his hands touched my toes. He lifted my leg and placed my foot on his chest. His fingers began to knead the sole. Each pressure point he touched beamed a relaxing current through my body. Gabe pushed his thumb in that one specific spot I remembered fondly, and watched my reaction. The pressure radiated a tingling sensation to between my legs, lingering there for a few seconds. He pressed it again, and my buttocks clenched.
“Relax, Sam. It will feel much better.”
I leaned my head back. Gabe’s fingers worked my sole before moving higher to my calf. Each squeeze and rub triggered deep urges untouched by anyone before. I wanted him to touch me everywhere.
Gently, Gabe lowered my left foot and started on the right one.
I let go of more tension with every minute, closing my eyes. When my left sole touched his thigh, my eyes flew open.
“Sit up,” he whispered, and I realized I had almost dozed off.
Gabe poured soap onto a sponge. “Come closer.”
I slid toward him as he moved forward. My legs curved around his hips, and his erection slid against my inner thigh. The heat between my legs melted all my muscles. I couldn’t believe what was happening to my body. It responded to Gabe’s touch on its own. I felt like a marionette with strings attached.
He placed the sponge on my shoulder and drew it down my arm, then back up. The sensation of the soft cotton mixed with the gentle scrubbing relaxed me. A layer of lavender lather remained on my skin. I tilted my head to the side, allowing Gabe to pull the scrubber onto my neck, and then back down before he slid to my cleavage and stopped.
“I’m going to wash you.”
I nodded.
“All of you.”
The flames in Gabe
s silver eyes were at full blast, and I could have sworn I felt their heat on the tip of his cock as it rested between my thighs.
The sponge floated freely on the suds as Gabe reached behind me and untied the elastic from my hair. My curls spilled onto my shoulders.
“Turn around.” Gabe’s voice was barely a whisper, yearning in each word.
I pulled my knees toward my chest and swooshed around in the water.
Gabe’s hands wrapped around my waist. He pulled me in closer until his front pressed against my back, trapping his manhood between us. “Tilt your head up.”
Leaning against his chest, I looked up at the soothing light on the ceiling. A thin screen, resembling sheer fabric, rolled down over the window. It flickered with a movie image of a crackling fireplace.
Water poured down my hair, and I closed my eyes again. Gabe’s touch woke my inner needs and every nerve on my body. The pressure inside me grew as warm liquid covered my head and his fingers began spreading shampoo through my hair. He massaged my scalp, working up the lather slowly. His hands glided onto my shoulders and down under the curves of my breasts. His pounding heart beat against my back.
I liked that it seemed I too had an effect on Gabe.
Gabe washed each breast with care, then lowered his hand under the water to my tummy and then to the small patch of curls. His fingers parted the folds with expertise.
I pressed into his hand more and more each time his fingers drew along the skin.
When he was done, his palms glided under my bottom, lifting me higher on his lap. He kneaded my behind before drawing his insistent fingers down the crack, washing the one hole no one had ever touched. A jolt of pleasure flowed to my pussy, and I felt Gabe smile against the side of my face. I never thought I would allow a man to clean my body so thoroughly.
“All done,” he said. “How are you feeling?”
“Wanton,” I whispered.
“Well, we can’t have any of that, can we? Let’s go to bed. It looks like there’s another hole on your body no one has had the pleasure of licking.”
I squeezed my eyes shut for a moment, remembering that little jolt of bliss from behind when he washed me. “Wait.” I flipped in the tub. Water spilled to the floor.
