“Well, there was something I wanted to show you.”
I was itching to get back to my home state. I pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to Reed.
“This Antebellum mansion is calling to us. It needs someone to bring it back to life. Look how cheap it is too.”
“No wonder it’s cheap, the thing is practically falling down.”
“The house has solid bones,” I protested.
He shook his head. “No way. This is not a good investment.”
“Reed O’Hara, just look at this house. Why, it’s practically crying is what it’s doing. It’s saying, ‘Alabama, please help me.’”
“I’m practically crying and you are not helping me.” Reed tried to hide his smile.
I wrapped my arms around Reed’s waist and he leaned down and kissed me.
Finally Reed looked over at his uncle and said, “Looks as if we’re buying an Antebellum in Kentucky.”
