“I know what love is; I ’ve grown up in a household full of love. But, I just don’t know if I know what it is in regards to a relationship. Why is it so hard to find love? Because when you’re in love in a relationship you guys have to compromise.

You have to kind of concede to one another. And I don’t think I’ve ever done that for anybody. I’ve tried. I’m just not very successful at it. Why don’t I know what love is? Cause I’m just not there. I don’t know. Sometimes I wonder if I’ll ever really find it.” – Aishah (Love, I’m good)

  Prologue

“There’s something in this Liquor.” The voice of Chris Brown crooned throughout Club Lust as she made her way expeditiously through the crowd. She was stopped abruptly by someone tugging on her arm. She turned around, ready to go off but softened her demeanor when she laid eyes on him.

“Where you rushing off to?” The stranger whispered in her ear causing a chill to slither through her body.

His full-toned, baritone voice was enticing. She looked back toward the direction she just came from then back to the mystery man. All thoughts of leaving the spot slowly faded away. “Where ever you going,” she smirked.

The mystery man licked his full lips before reaching out and pulling her closer to him. He wrapped his arm around her waist and ushered her toward the back where the private rooms were.

“Where ya’ll headed, new girl? Mitch, you sure this who you trying to fuck with tonight. Gonna waste your time with a bottle girl,” One of the strippers, Crystal, she met earlier said. Crystal addressed her statement to her but couldn’t keep her eyes off of the guy, who she now knew as Mitch.

“Yea. I’m sure. I mean unless you trying to join the party and shit, Crystal.”

She sucked her teeth and stepped between them, with her back toward Crystal.

  “I don’t share,” she seethed.

Mitch chuckled and cocked his head to the side, “Maybe next time?” He laughed before walking off with shorty, who had his attention besides him. They made it to the backroom and Mitch flopped down on the couch.

“So, what you want with me?” She questioned before taking a seat next to him on the leather sofa. She lifted her right leg and tossed it over his lap.

Slowly, he ran his hand up and down her leg.

“I peeped you all night. Not on no stalker shit, but when a nigga sees something he like, he tends to go after it. I tried to get your attention, but I guess a nigga not cute enough.” Mitch had to laugh at his humor. He was many things but ‘not cute enough’ wasn’t on that list. His smooth Hershey colored skin was blemish free and covered in tattoos. At least from what was exposed, due to the short sleeve collared shirt, he was rocking. His eyes were doe shaped and an intense hue of brown. They were inviting and part of the reason she even found herself in the private room with him. His eyes gave off the permanent bedroom, lusty look. He rocked a fade with three-sixty waves that would be a surfers dream and was bald on the side. The hair style worked perfectly with his beard. It wasn’t too long and was perfectly trimmed. Mitch’s height added oomph to his swagger. It was something about a fine nigga, with height, and swag. Standing at six foot three, Mitch embodied that well.

She found herself rolling her eyes at the not cute enough comment, because to her, he was everything. Especially since she was willing to go against the grain based on his looks alone. She made it her business never to fuck on the job, for the most part; but the nigga was silently speaking to her pussy, and it was answering.

“So, again I ask… What you want with me?”

Mitch slid his hand up and rested it between her thighs. He gently rubbed through her shorts which accentuated the print of her pussy.

  “Shit is fat,” he admitted.

She smacked her lips before rising to her feet. She wasn’t the type of chick that bullshitted for nothing or no one. Always known as the one who kept it eight more than ninety-two. She stood directly in front of Mitch and parted his legs with her knees. She took a step forward causing him to sit up and place his hands on each side of her waist.

Mitch looked the peanut butter complexioned beauty up and down. Never in all his years of mobbing at strip clubs had he ever found himself in the backroom with one. He convinced himself shit was different because shorty was a bottle girl. He didn’t find her popping her pussy open in front of a bunch of niggas for cash. To top it off, she was bad as fuck. Her frame was slender, but her ass was fat. She had an oval shaped face with one deep dimple on her left cheek.

It was noticeable without her even smiling. Her almond shaped eyes were the color of Emerald and stood out because of her skin and the Ginger colored curly mane that sat perfectly on top of her head. She had a few tattoos, unlike how a man's tats added toughness to him but hers added sex appeal. Everything about her turned Mitch on.

She grew tired of the staring game and took a few steps back. After resting her fingers above the lining of the high waist shorts she was rocking, she wiggled and pulled them down.

  “We grow
n right?” She questioned.

She was completely out of her element but was going with the flow. Judging by how fast Mitch had his jeans at his ankles and his dick saluting her through his boxer briefs, she could tell he was just as eager as she was. She turned around and bent over, giving Mitch a complete view of her ass and perfectly shaven, pink pussy. He reached up, pulled her backward, and she landed on his lap.

“Nah…” she said, trying to get up.

He tightened the hold he had on her.

“Chill, it’s right here,” he said, showing her the condom wrapped in the familiar gold wrapper. “Type of nigga you think I am,” he laughed while moving her forward, granting him enough space to slip the jimmy-hat on his piece. He reached around and rubbed her clit while stroking his shit.

She pushed his hand away, stood up, and straddled him. They were face to face staring intently into each others eyes. Lust bounced around between the space that separated them until it became too much for them both to bare. She reached down and guided his dick into her tunnel. Slowly she slid down on it and gasped while never breaking eye contact. Mitch bit down on his bottom lip and grabbed on to her waist. She swung her head to the side, to get the curls that had fallen into her line of sight, away.

She bounced unmercifully. The sound of her thighs slapping against his echoed throughout the room. With her head tilted back, she moaned out his name. Mitch took it upon himself to place soft kisses on her neck which led to a feasting, being sure to leave behind passion marks that would surely remind her of their encounter.

  “Get up,” Mitch instructed.

Without objection, she obliged. Mitch stood up and walked behind her. He pushed her face first onto the sofa and after grabbing her waist, he went in for the kill. He sunk his shit so deep, she was crawling to get away.

“Nah, stay put and take this shit,” he barked while pulling back and shoving his shit back into her.

“I…I… Fuck,” she stumbled over her words.

“Thought you was about to have shit under control, huh?” Mitch was punishing her for the way she had him feeling when she was riding. Less of punishment more like reciprocating.

“Pleaseeee,” She cried out while tightening her grip on the top of the sofa. She was reaching her peak and reaching it fast. Her rapid breaths and pulsating walls were giving her away.

“Go ahead, let that shit go.”

He was so busy focusing on bringing her over that edge that he didn’t realize he was almost there too.

“Damnnnn shorty,” Mitch called out as her juices saturated his dick and dripped freely down his leg.

He pulled out and turned her over.

  “Lay back,” he instructed.

“I… Damn…” she mumbled before laying back and propping herself up on her elbows.

Mitch hovered over her before leaning down and sliding back in. The feeling was different, so much so he had to slow his strokes down to keep from busting.

She licked her lips and pulled him closer by his shirt.

  “Deeper,” she cooed.

“Oh, how deep? That deep… or this… nah this is it, right?” He teased while slamming his dick against her spot and pulling out repeatedly.

Commotion could be heard from the other side of the door, but both of them were too wrapped up in what they had going on to even think about anything else.

“Damn shorty,” Mitch grunted before releasing his seed. She wasn’t far behind with another body shaking orgasm.

  Boom, Boom, Boom

The banging on the door caught both of their attention.

“Yo, Mitch, you in here?” A voice called from the other side of the door.

Mitch looked toward the door then over at shorty, who was still leaning on her elbows trying to catch her breath.

“Give me a minute,” Mitch responded.

  “We need you now.”

“Go ahead. Thank you.” She giggled.

“What’s your name,” Mitch asked while slipping on his briefs.

She thought about it for a minute before responding, “Whatever you want it to be.”

“Shit. I’ll just call you Karma. Gotta be some crazy ass payback giving me the best pussy I ever had and won’t have again.”

She laughed and blew Mitch a kiss.

He leaned over to pick up his jeans and spotted it.

“Fuck!” He stood up with his jeans in his hand and dug into the pocket. He pulled out a knot and didn’t even bother to count it.

“Here,” he reached his hand out toward her, and she scoffed.

“I’m a bottle girl. Nothing more, nothing less.”

“Come on, Mitch.” His friend encouraged.

He shook his head at her and put on his jeans. The last thing he remembered was looking back at her as she stood to put back on her shorts, before opening the door and being pulled away by his best friend, Niem.

“Fuck was so important?” Mitch huffed.

He didn’t realize that the club started to clear out and still didn’t question anything until he spotted the ambulance removing someone out of one of the rooms, on the other side, in a body bag.

“What the fuck I missed?” he asked while they made their way toward the exit. He looked behind them and spotted their other homeboy. He stopped in his tracks and tapped Niem on his arm.

  “Where my brother?” Mitch asked.

“Yo, right now, we just gotta get up out of here.”

“Nah.” Mitch shook his head side to side. “Where my brother?”

While Niem was the type to do whatever to protect his best friend’s feelings, Nino was more the type to put shit on the table regardless of how it would affect a person.

“Mitch, they found him in one of the rooms with his pants at his ankles and a bullet through his dome, bro. I’m sorry.” Nino stated.

In an instant, Mitch’s world came crashing down around him and brought him to his knees. It wasn’t like him to show weakness in front of anybody, but his world had just been rattled.

“Not my brother. Not my motherfucking brother,” he wailed.

  Chapter One

  One year later

The sound of Italian-made heels could be heard clicking against tiled floor as Symphony and her two associates made their way down the long corridor of the bunker where their meeting was being held. Two guards stood outside the door, and when they spotted her, they stepped aside.

“Good Morning, Sym,” they stated in unison.

  “Wassup, fellas,” she replied, coolly.

Once over the threshold of the steel door, Sym and her girls relieved themselves of their weapons and sat their phones on the shelf after powering them off. It was two of the few rules Symphony had in place, and she wasn’t lenient on them for anybody. She followed them and expected anyone who wanted to do business with her to follow them as well. Under no circumstance are cell phones and weapons allowed in her meetings. The only two who were authorized to be strapped was Jah and Cree, her personal secret service.

“Sorry, for the delay boys,” Symphony said before taking her seat at the head of the table and greeting each of the men with a smile.

Kori, Symphony’s little sister, and most trusted adviser took the empty seat to the left of her while Nadja took the empty seat on the right.

“So, what’s the deal?” Kori asked. She was the straight to the point one between the three of them. She hated for their time to be wasted. Time wasted to her meant money out of her pocket, and that wasn’t something she was cool with.

“We have a little problem.” One of the guys stated.

“Well, clearly. You called us.” Nadja added.

“Give me the facts. I have to pick up my daughter,” Symphony spat.

She was all for making paper, but nothing in the world was more important or came before her daughter, McKenzie.

“Aight, my brother on trial right now for some shit and the state has a witness that will get him sent upstate on some consecutive life type of shit. If you
as good as niggas say you are, we pretty sure you can get at said witness. Nigga's called you the hood Olivia Pope and shit.”

Symphony shrugged. They weren’t asking her to do anything she hadn’t done before. So what was the catch?

“What aren’t you saying?” she questioned, having a feeling that a big but was going to follow what he said.

  “The nigga is in WITSEC.”

Nadja, Kori, and Symphony sighed at the same time. Getting to a witness, who roamed freely on the streets was one thing, but touching someone protected by the Marshals was a whole other ball game. For the right price, though, they were down to play.

“Three million. One point five right now,” the leader of the group stated once he realized Symphony’s hesitation. He knew if she said no, the other two wouldn’t go against that. He needed her on board.

“Roger, you came to play ball, huh?” Symphony smirked. She looked over to Kori, then to Nadja. They were able to feel each other out and sense what the other was thinking without expressing anything verbally. After years of doing what they do, they gained that skill.

“Came to win,” He stated matter-of-factly.

“I see. I see. Well, it’s a good day to come up one point five mil. I think my ladies would agree with me on that. So, you have a deal. Here’s what I need from you though and I need it in twenty-four hours. For starters, we aren’t leaving here today with that type of money. Contact Kori to set up means to deliver the money within twenty-four hours. In addition to that, I need the name of everyone involved in your brother’s case. Judge, Juror, Attorneys. It’s two thirty now; you have until two thirty tomorrow. We need to know you are as serious about getting your brother, a get out of jail free card, as we are about taking your money. I should be hearing from you by this time tomorrow, right?”

  “That’s a fact,” Roger smirked.

  “Well, then. That’ll be all.”

Symphony slid her chair back and stood to her feet. She adjusted her skirt before stepping away from the table and walking over to where her phone was, with the girls behind her. She powered on her phone and waited for the Apple Logo to appear before slipping her nine into the small of her back. The guys knew to stay seated until Jah and Cree instructed them they could leave. Rules were laid out clearly before the start of every meeting so nothing could be misconstrued. Symphony felt it was best she and her girls got a head start on leaving meetings in case niggas felt a way and tried to catch them slipping.
