They walked out the restaurant together.

“Zayro, if I wanted to send a message could you make sure it happened.”

“I’d be happy to.” They disappeared.

“What now?” She turned to look at Dev.

“Now I kiss you under the stars, and then we go back to the hotel and make love because tomorrow we need to be on the move.”

He drew her into his arms and kissed her deeply with the moon and the stars shining on them.

“I love you,” she whispered before they walked back to their room.

  *~*~*~*

Rath sighed as he walked down the street. His brother had been unreasonable when he said no killing of humans. He looked at the two cars parked on either side of the street. Each of them held a member of either the government or the military.

The street was cute if you liked small streets that were relatively quiet. The houses were far enough apart that you had some semblance of privacy. He took the steps to the cute little blue house two at a time before he knocked on the door.

“Can I help you?” The door was opened by an elderly female who wore a smile on her face and an apron upon which she was wiping her hands. “I was just making cookies.”

  Now he was interested.

“I have a message here for you, but you have to destroy it after you see it.”

“Then you should come in young man and eat a cookie while I watch it with my husband.”

He nodded and looked behind him. It was such a shame when the door to your car wouldn’t open.

He handed the phone over to her and showed her to how to play the video.

“Martha who was at the door?”

“This fine young man. He said we had to watch this video.”

She gave him several cookies on a plate and then a cup of milk.

“Nothing taste better than warm cookies and milk.”

He wouldn’t argue with her even though he kind of wanted to. Martha pressed the play button.

“Hi, auntie and uncle it’s me, Rissa. I wanted to let you know that I’m okay. This is Dev, my husband. I wish I could come see you but the government did something they shouldn’t have and they don’t want it to get out.”

“Don’t worry about your daughter I will take care of her.”

She kissed him. “He knows you’re my parents although you didn’t birth me. I love you so much. I know I got into a lot of trouble when I was younger but those days are behind me. Take care and be careful. I love you.”

  The video went dark.

“We love you too.” Her aunt cried and gave the phone back to Rath who smashed it and then drowned it in water before he took it with him.

He headed for the door. “Mrs. Martha, those were the best cookies I’ve ever eaten.” He didn’t want to like humans, but he was going to make an exception for the two of them.

On his way out he made sure the two watching their house knew it was a death sentence if they touched them.

The world was changing, he hated change.
