He leaned over and placed a passionate kiss on her lips before leading her to the bed. Taking his time, he gently pushed her hands down and began to unbutton the shirt she was wearing. The buttons gave way to his fingers one by one slowly parting to reveal her silken skin.

Taking his hands up, he slid them across her shoulders taking her shirt off. It dropped to the floor. Taking his fingers, he traced down the sides of her body until his finger encountered the skirt she was wearing, he traveled the waist band until he reached the clasp, undoing it. With a simple move, he tugged at the zipper enjoying the sound of the teeth unlocking. The skirt pooled at her feet.

He leaned over and licked her neck before gently biting her. Fire rushed through her body, leaving her wet and longing.

“Alexei.” Her voice came out in shocked wonder. “That felt great.”

He chuckled. “Turns out it’s just the first time that hurts.”

“I want to kiss you all over, Wild cat, possess you, and make you mine. I never want you to forget my name.”

“I think you don’t have to worry about that but maybe you should make sure.” She gave him a grin.

“Your incorrigible and I love it.” He reached around her and undid her bra allowing her bountiful breasts to spill over.

  “Did you say something?”

“Alexei, what are you talking about?”

“Are you talking to me?” He lowered his head to look at her breasts. “Oh, you want me to suck on you hard? I can do that.”

He swept her up in his arms and laid her gently on the bed before leaning over and sucking a nipple into his mouth. He pulled on it making sweet tendrils of desire curl through her. She called his name as her hips surged up looking for something to grind against.

Finding nothing her hand crept lower wanting to touch the furnace between her legs as he continued to pull on and suck on her nipple like a starving male.

His hand trapped her, stopping her downward travel. He reached up and pinched her other nipple pulling it increasing her desire. His eyes flared wide as she watched him roll that nipple between his fingers.

“You’re making me so hard, Amber.” The nipple popped out of his mouth as his nostrils flared taking in her delicious scent. “I want to worship you, take my slow time.”

“I want to wrap my legs around you and feel you fill me up and plunge hard and deep within me.” He pinched her nipple hard giving a soft sigh of approval as her hips bucked again.

His cock jerked as he watched her. She shimmied over and took her hand placing it in the crevice between her breasts. She met his eyes as she slowly caressed her body moving slowly downward. He followed every move of her hand until she reached the tangled curls that sat just above her clit.

Her fingers moved to slightly caress her clit. A hiss of sound left Alexei’s mouth as he fisted his cock in his hand. Amber reached down and pinched her clit before rubbing it. Alexei pulled back on his cock hitting his balls before stroking forward. Amber’s eyes burned as she looked at him rubbing her clit faster. Her hips thrust up as her legs began to shake. Her fingers snaked down to her throbbing pussy lips, only to find Alexei’s head in her way.

He took his tongue and licked the raw passion flowing from between her legs. The high keening sound she made reverberated through her body as he clamped onto her shoving his tongue in deeply. He licked and sucked until she gave a massive cry and shook around his head coming hard all over his face.

He stroked her until her body finally calmed. When he lifted his head there was a smile of satisfaction on his face.

“You taste better than the wildest honey, and the sweetest jam.”

He lifted his body settling in on her and kissed her, allowing her to taste her flavor that was all over his mouth. She moaned at the taste of herself combined with his heady masculine flavor.

Raising his hips, he moved and impaled her. Her body sprang up to meet him opening like a flower finally being exposed to the sun.

“Alexei, the way you fill me thrills me. Your thickness was made for me.” She bounced up to keep him deep inside her for as long as possible as he pulled out preparing for another thrust downward.

“You say the sweetest things, Wild cat. You’re so tight around me, caressing me with every move I make. You’re like fire tempting me to get closer. Burn me, make me go up in flames.”

He slammed down into her moving faster, desperately needing to become one with her. She matched him move for move, her nails digging into his back as she held on not wanting to get left behind as he took her higher.

She looked up knowing that she could finally touch the stars. One last thrust pushed her over the edge until she was freefalling. Her screams of pleasure filled the room and beyond. His name on her lips reached the heavens as she proclaimed to the world that he was hers.

He went over that same cliff chasing her with his freefall. His body tightened before spilling into her. She felt him explode as every dream he ever had of being with his mate was crushed under the reality that this was the best thing he ever felt.

His mate. He closed his eyes as the stars took him.

  *~*~*~*

  “Where are we? More memories?”

“I don’t think so not unless they are yours,” Alexei replied as he looked at the woman standing in the middle of the field.

She was tall with a reddish brown skin that didn’t look human. Her eyes were golden and her hair was cut close to her scalp, she had to be other.

“Hi,” she walked over to them, “Dante told me to expect you.”

  “He did? When?” Amber asked.

The woman smiled without answering. “I am Lejane and you are the one with the beautiful blade.”

Amber looked down to see she was dressed in a pair of tight black leggings and a matching tank. The dagger was in a sheath at her side.

  “What is this place?”

“It’s a training field and you don’t have long to train. I have seen some of your moves and you are good for someone who is untrained. You have natural talent and I can quickly show you somethings that will enhance this talent.”

“Lejane, I am Amber and this is Alexei. Will you be training him also?”

  “Only you.”

Amber’s dagger flew out of her sheath straight up in the air. It spun and headed for Amber. She moved her hand subtly and stopped it in the air. She went to move again but a cord came hurtling through the air and tied her hands.

“The power isn’t in your hands, Amber. It’s in your mind. You use your hands as a crutch, that crutch will kill you if you’re not careful. Your hands give too much away. I can read your next move when you use them. Command your dagger back to your sheath.”

Amber struggled against the cord holding her hands needing to move them. “I need my hands.”

“Then you will die. Your enemy will not stand calmly by waiting for you to make a movement to command your dagger or the wind or any other instrument in the room. They will kill you when you take your concentration off of them. Or they will kill Alexei.”

The dagger spun and picked up momentum as it aimed for Alexei’s head. He was paralyzed, unable to move.

“Hell no!” The dagger stopped, it turned drifting towards Amber before it started moving towards Alexei.

Her mind cleared as her focus was totally on the blade; with a power surge she stopped it, flipped it and sheathed it.

  “Again.”

The blade flew from her sheath faster this time hurtling for Alexei. It took greater focus but she stopped it. Lejane didn’t stop; each time the blade moved faster causing her to focus more. The last time it hurled for Alexei she knew he was dead. Her mind didn’t want to work anymore.

She wanted to scream sorry before the blade hit him instead her mind moved without thought simply doing what needed done. When the blade returned to her, she fell on the ground taking in big gasps of air. He was still alive.

  “Lesson one, well done.”

  “You could have kil
led him!”

  “I know.”

Alexei sagged when he was finally free. “If you ever do that…”

Lejane interrupted him. “Here I’m the ultimate power, there is nothing you can do to me. Remember that when you get the urge to threaten me again.”

Amber was jerked back to her feet hands still bond while Lejane casually smiled at her.

“Lesson two, the wind. It’s everywhere, even when you think it’s not around. Wind can be carved out of the silence of the air. You are never without it. It can be a whirlwind.”

The wind whipped at their feet making Amber want to side step but she stayed perfectly still.

“It can also be the sweetest kiss on your cheek.”

She felt the kiss of the wind on her.

“Both the whirlwind and the silent wind can be deadly. Knowing how to use them is a key.”

The silent wind she could barely feel tossed Amber to the ground.

“Know this, whatever wind you use, to be used effectively it takes the gentlest of touches.”

The world went dark around Amber.

  Chapter Twenty-Seven

Amber stood before the mirror looking at herself. Today was the day. Yaksim was back and the government was turning them over. She couldn’t blame the government; what was four lives if the rest of humanity was spared, but she knew better. The rest of humanity wouldn’t be spared. The beings on those ships were some of the worst the galaxy had to offer. They didn’t travel for years to turn around with a handful of prisoners.

They wanted conquest, bloodshed, and slaves. The Earth, so far away from the civilized worlds in the rest of the galaxy, was perfect for what they wanted. No one cared about this little blue planet.

Her image snared her attention again. She was wearing a pair of dark blue pants that had a hidden slit in both sides paired with a red top. The legs of the pants were wide allowing her to tie her sheath to her leg, if needed she would be able to access it. She spent the last couple of hours trying to master the trick of not using her hand to make her dagger work. She was getting better. Then she spent time working with the air, carving the slightest of winds out of it. It would take more practice but she could do it a little. Hopefully if she needed the talent it would materialize under stress.

Alexei sat in a chair looking relaxed. The jeans he wore screamed casual as was his shirt. She would love to see him in them on a Saturday night as they went to a club.

“Are you sure that’s what you want to wear?”

“Yeah, I want lose clothing to fight in and if I need to change I would like to not rip through it.”

“I was never a fighter when I was younger. It amazes me that I am going to a fight knowing that there’s a chance I won’t come back from it and still I’m going.”

“Do you want to stay behind? We both know it won’t matter because they won’t leave the Earth alone.”

“Would you be ok with that?” Amber searched his face.

“Yes, Wild cat, I would be. You have nothing to prove.”

A smile settled on her as she checked her weapon one last time. “I’m going. You’re right, I have nothing to prove, but I won’t let them get away with trying to destroy my planet. I won’t hide.”

Alexei kissed her. “I never thought you would stay behind, but it was worth a shot.

“Let’s go meet my dad and Uncle Dante.”

  *~*~*~*

“I should be going,” Ash said again for the hundredth time. “I don’t have a mate and my daughter is going. I should be there to protect her.”

“You know I have to go, Ash,” Aran said. “She’s my daughter now also not that it matters and I will definitely be protecting her, but she can also protect herself. You know as well as I do that the moment we step foot on that ship all hell will break lose on the planet and I need you here with our brothers to fight.”

  Ash nodded.

“Dad, is that grey I see in your hair?”

“Where?” Ash’s hand went to his head of fire red hair.

“Amber,” he gave her a smile.

“I was checking, but nope I don’t see any grey.”

  “Wicked little girl.”

She laughed, messing with her father always made her feel a little better.

“It’s time.” Dante had been sitting in the corner of the room watching the interactions.

  Ash opened his mouth.

“Don’t ask, Ash, even if I knew I couldn’t tell you.”

Ash nodded and said nothing as he walked over to Amber and hugged her one last time. Then he moved out of the way so they could leave the room. Rena who was outside came to Aran’s side and hugged him wiping the tears in her eyes.

“I expect you to come back unhurt, are we clear?”

“Yes, Doll.” He leaned down and kissed her snaking his tongue into her mouth. “I will be back.”

“I know; I’ll hold down the fort until you get back.”

“Alexei,” his mother held out her arms to him.

He walked over and embraced her.

“You take care of yourself and Amber too.” Rena’s eyes shone with unshed tears. “I expect you back in one piece. One unhurt breathing piece.”

“Yes Ma’am.” Alexei held her tight kissing her cheek.

“Daughter.” Amber went over and joined them, hugging both Rena and Alexei.

“I’ll take care of him, don’t worry.” Rena nodded, disengaging before she went to hug Aran again.

  “You bring everyone back safely.”

“I will, Doll.” She kissed him one last time before pasting a smile on her face.

They said a quick goodbye to the rest of the family and climbed into the hover car with Alexei at the wheel. The car moved out following the drive way to the empty highway several miles from his house.

“What’s our plan?” Amber grasped at straws trying to break the silence in the car.

  “Kill the enemy,” Aran said.

  They lapsed into silence again.

“Amber, how did your lesson go?”

She looked at Dante who was sitting in the back seat next to Aran.

“How did you manage to arrange that and get me there?”

“I never tell my secrets. How did it go?”

“She told me about my hands and creating airflow. Things that I think I should have been able to figure out on my own but I never did. I have been working with them. Even now I can feel the air sliding around me.”

“Glad to hear it and remember there’s a reason you have teachers. After you are taught what to do it seems so simple but before that it’s harder than you think.”

She nodded her head watching the miles disappear.

“What if they shoot us out of the air or kill us as we are docking or any number of things?”

“Then there’s no satisfaction in the kill,” Aran replied. “Yaksim has planned this for longer than you have been alive, Amber. He imagines taking his time with me and slowly dismembering me. I know because I imagine the same for him. To kill my son in front of me will give him a joy that he has never achieved not even in a sexual union. If death comes for us it will come slowly.”

“Aran’s right, when you’ve had years to plan, you need to see it unfold the way you want it to. Don’t fret we will arrive in one piece. All we have to do is change the scenario in his head. That will infuriate him enough to have him make a mistake.”

“I get it, so simple.” With her last sarcastic reply she lapsed into silence. They approached the point downtown. Two rivers merged here and created a third. The hover car took off into the air, the wheels retracting as they ascended heading for the ship that sat over the point. It was the flag ship, if they could cripple it that would be a big blow to the enemy. Amber’s stomach flipped. Yaksim was waiting.

The climb wasn’t long. This wasn’t the ship they had been in before. Hale did his best to get the schematics of the ship and they each memorized them. There were four emergency exits as well as the main entran
ce. They had five ways off the ship she hoped it was enough.

“Remember we need to destroy this ship.” Dante spoke before they were swallowed into the open hangar door.

Alexei sat the hover car down and took a deep breath. He opened the door and they silently climbed out. Yaksim stood before them not looking a day older than he had twenty-nine years ago.

“Aran, old friend, nice to finally see you again. Dante, thank you for the fine accommodations you provided me.” He stopped to look over Alexei and Amber. “This must be your son who was just a babe in arms the last time I saw him. Sorry I was away for so many years, I would have loved to help with his upbringing. This must be the female I’ve heard so much about. She helped us get rid of that nasty snake problem.

“I can see the joy of seeing me again has over whelmed you. No matter; I want to introduce you to my people. This is my right hand man, Jayquer. Dante, I have to tell you he was a little miffed when I went away for a nice long vacation, but I have explained to him how tired I was and he now understands. This is Sanqee. She is my third as well as my muscle. She gets a little miffed if anyone tries to harm me, but I am sure you understand that. Come, I am looking forward to showing you around my vessel.”

Jayquer and Sanqee flanked them on either side showing the slightest hint of weapons. They followed Yaksim out the hangar. The corridor seemed to be overrun with crew members who wanted to see the prisoners being brought in.

“This is some of my crew; they are here to welcome you to our vessel. You know we have waited years to have you come and visit us.” He shot them a smile laced with malice as he led them to a lift.

They entered and watched as the door closed taking them to the main bridge. When they exited the lift, the view screen was in front of them. Downtown was laid out before them in all its glory. Amber felt her back stiffen as she remembered why she was here. Her people, her Earth, and her town.

“It’s beautiful isn’t it?” Yaksim said with a genuine smile. “I will make this my seat of power once I am done destroying the people of Earth. Aran, unfortunately you won’t get to see your son and the female destroyed, but I assure you I will make sure you see their cold lifeless bodies before you die. After that, of course, I will hunt down the rest of your family and kill them. Say something.”
