by Dean Francis Alfar

“Gellen’s Retirement Plan” is original to this anthology.

Yvette Tan‘s fiction has appeared in different publications such as Esquire Philippines, Rogue, Pulp, Philippine Speculative Fiction, and Philippine Genre Stories. Her collection of short fiction is Waking the Dead.

Her personal project, which has been going on since 2009, is living a life of voluntary simplicity, where she pares down everything in her life to the barest essentials.

“Fresh Fruit” first appeared in Esquire Philippines in 2013.

Celestine Trinidad is a licensed physician, currently taking up her residency training in Pathology, but she still tries to write as much as she can in her spare time. Her stories have appeared in other print and online venues, such as the Digest of Philippine Genre Stories, Philippine Speculative Fiction, Philippines Free Press, Diaspora ad Astra, and Usok. In 2008 (much to her own surprise), she won the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Award for Literature for her short story for children “The Storyteller and the Giant”.

“Finding Those Who Are Lost” is original to this anthology.

  Fiona Mae Villamor

Fiona is a first-time author and a long-time writer from Cebu, Philippines. She has penned a number of rough drafts over the years, but “Aliens” is one of her first few serious works—and certainly not her last.

“Aliens” is original to this anthology.

Jay Wilburn lives in the swamps of coastal South Carolina with his family. He left teaching after sixteen years to care for the health needs of his son and to pursue writing full time. He has published a number of speculative fictions pieces including the novels “Loose Ends” and “Time Eaters”, and a piece in Best Horror of the Year Volume 5. He has family across the American Southeast who have experienced hurricane destruction first hand, and Jay participated in relief efforts as early as Hurricane Hugo when he was in Boy Scouts.   “Tinkerers” is original to this anthology.

Kenneth Yu is a fiction writer based in Quezon City in the Philippines. He is also the publisher/editor of The Digest of Philippine Genre Stories—PGS in short—a Filipino short fiction publication (philippinegenrestories.com). His first collection, Mouths to Speak, Voices to Sing, was published in 2013, while his other stories have found homes in numerous other publications both in print and in digital form. He has been and will continue to be a staunch reading advocate for many years. He can be found on Twitter at @Kenneth_Yu.

“The Sparrows of Climaco Avenue” first appeared in Philippine Speculative Fiction Volume 5.
