Hakan surprised Daniel by pulling him down on top of them. Before he knew what was happening, Daniel’s body was being licked, sucked and stroked by the two gorgeous men. He could feel the joy the other men were experiencing by touching him, and it thrilled him.
Hakan took the bottle of lube from Daniel’s hand. “Let’s go to the other room.”
Daniel untangled himself from Hakan and the three of them quickly made their way into the bedroom. Crawling to the center of the bed, Daniel presented himself.
Hakan’s finger drifted across Daniel’s puckered hole. “You okay with this?”
Daniel nodded. “Need it. We all do.”
Hakan’s touch was joined by Ryker’s lubed fingers. Soon both sets were slicked and playing with Daniel’s hole.
“Are you two stretching, or just trying to torture me?” Daniel moaned, glancing over his shoulder.
“Both,” Ryker said. “We didn’t get a chance to do this earlier. I want you to enjoy this round even more.”
The dueling fingers inside his ass left no doubt that he would enjoy himself. “No problem there.”
Hakan leaned over and kissed him. Another jolt of ecstasy raced through Daniel as Ryker’s other hand found its way to Hakan’s ass. The amount of pleasure being shared threatened to overwhelm him.
“Now,” he begged, knowing he couldn’t hold out much longer.
Daniel felt the men behind shift positions. He leaned against one shoulder and reached back to spread his butt cheeks.
Hakan groaned as he pressed the crown of his cock against Daniel’s stretched hole. He held his breath as Hakan’s fat shaft slowly breached his body. Once Hakan was fully seated, Ryker began to fill Hakan’s ass.
“Oh,” Daniel gasped. Not only was he enjoying the fullness of Hakan’s fat cock sliding in and out of his ass, but he picked up on what Ryker and Hakan were feeling as well.
As the three of them moved together in a sexual dance of sorts, Daniel had to push away the added feelings from the two men. Whoever said you couldn’t have too much stimulation was wrong. With his body already overwhelmed, having his heart and his mind join in the fun, was just more than he could handle. Maybe in time he’d get used to the barrage of feelings and images coming from the other two men, but for now it was enough to digest his own.
With Hakan sliding easily in and out of his ass, Daniel released his butt cheeks and moved one hand down to his cock, while the other pinched and played with his nipples.
Daniel was happier than he’d ever been, until he heard Ryker whispering words of love into Hakan’s ear as he fucked him. When those sweet nothings weren’t passed on his way, part of Daniel shut down.
He swallowed the hurt, telling himself perhaps things would be different in time. Once again, Daniel concentrated on the thick rod impaling him.
“I’m close,” Hakan called in warning.
Daniel pressed his thumb against the sensitive underside of his cock. “Give it to me.”
He no longer had crazy ideas of mating, not after what had happened with Ryker earlier in the day, but as Hakan emptied his seed, Daniel reveled in his new relationships anyway. He may not have the soul-bonding love Hakan and Ryker shared, but at least he was no longer alone.
Hakan’s cock continued to peg Daniel’s prostate as he thrust through his climax, pushing Daniel over the edge with him. Warmth covered Daniel’s hand as he soaked himself in his own thick white cum.
Ryker was the last of them to shout his release. He collapsed onto the bed, taking Hakan and Daniel with him.
Even though Daniel was covered with close to four-hundred and fifty pounds of hot man, he started to drift off to sleep. It was Hakan who finally rolled off, flipping Ryker to one side of Daniel, while he landed on the other.
Ryker reached over and pulled the three of them together. “We need to talk.”
* * * *
“Damn,” Ryker said, looking around Hakan’s studio.
Hakan grinned, evidently pleased at the compliment. “You got the knife?”
Ryker rolled his eyes, holding the object in question out toward his new lover. “For someone who’s used to being alone, you’ve got a smart mouth on you.”
Hakan snaked his tongue out and licked his lips. “You love my mouth.”
Ryker’s cock immediately hardened. “I haven’t enjoyed your mouth in that way, but I’m looking forward to it.”
A loud bang from the corner of the room had Ryker spinning around on full alert. An embarrassed Daniel stood red-faced, a pile of silver pieces now on the floor beside one of Hakan’s work stations.
“Sorry,” Daniel apologized, shuffling his feet uncomfortably.
Ryker couldn’t help but smile. Thirty minutes earlier, Daniel had been face down on the bed with Hakan’s big dick up his ass, and now he looked like a schoolboy who was afraid of getting scolded.
Holding out his hand, Ryker beckoned Daniel to join him and Hakan. Once Daniel was safely tucked under Ryker’s arm, he returned his attention to Hakan as he studied the knife.
“This is unbelievably crafted.” The way Hakan ran his fingers over the scroll work etched into the solid silver dagger made Ryker envious of the cold piece of metal.
Stretching across the worktable, Hakan dropped the antique piece into what appeared to be a melting pot. From the heat generated from the contraption, Ryker guessed a very hot melting pot.
“Wait! What’re you doing?” Ryker asked, reaching toward the pot.
Hakan grabbed Ryker’s forearm and pulled it back. “We both knew the dagger had to be melted down.”
“What’ve you decided to do with it?” Daniel asked.
Hakan rose and went to a cabinet at the other end of the room. He brought back a long mould.
Ryker knew immediately what Hakan had in mind. “Kind of corny, don’t you think?”
“Why?” Hakan asked. “Every kid that’s watched a Saturday matinee knows silver bullets kill werewolves.”
“That’s a myth.” Ryker had always hated those damn werewolf movies. “Besides, The Hunters aren’t wolves.”
Hakan grinned. “Used to be.”
“What I don’t understand is, how you’re gonna be able to make enough bullets to kill all Hunters,” Daniel cut in.
Hakan stood again and went back to the cabinet. He withdrew several large silver ingots and carried them back to the bench. “Just like the smallpox The Hunters used to kill you, or the dirt they used to kill Toby’s people, it doesn’t have to be full strength.”
Ryker cleared his throat when he felt Daniel stiffen beside him.
“Sorry,” Hakan apologized. “I meant your people.”
“How many can you make?” Ryker asked. He tried to sooth the small shifter tucked against his side with a kiss to the top of his head.
“Enough. It’ll just take a drop of the cursed silver to kill them. The hard part will be casting the little sonofabitches. Silver’s a lot harder to work with than lead, so it may take a couple of recasts to get them right. I’ll get them done though and then we’ll be ready to go after those monsters.”
Ryker hoped Hakan was right. The tiger and lion shifters were due to fly into Canada in three days. Earth Mother believed The Hunters were intending their own brand of welcoming ceremony.
After finding another stool, Ryker sat close enough to Hakan so Daniel wouldn’t feel the separation while still giving him room to work. Daniel automatically climbed onto his lap.
Once he’d put the silver into melt, Hakan scooted his stool closer to Ryker and Daniel. “Do you have to live in Refuge?”
Ryker was surprised by the question. “I don’t know. I mean, I think at least part of the time. I guess it depends on the threat level. If we somehow manage to eliminate The Hunters, I assume my time would be a bit more flexible. Why?”
Hakan shrugged. “This has been my home for a long time. I’m not sure I’m ready to abandon it.”
Ryker hadn’t even thought of logistics as far as their new relat
ionship went. The important thing was that he finally felt he belonged with someone, or in this case, two someones.
“I never said you had to. Actually, I do quite a bit of traveling. I own companies spread out all across the United States and Canada that I still need to keep up with. Couldn’t we have several home bases?”
Hakan winced. “I’m not much on cities or crowds.”
“That’s okay. Neither am I. You can hang out in the hotel room with me,” Daniel said.
They talked for a while about the different cities Ryker visited. He promised both men to slowly turn over the operations to someone else or sell them altogether. The last thing he wanted was to make his men uncomfortable.
Ryker idly kissed Daniel’s neck as he watched Hakan’s large hands begin to pour the liquid silver into the moulds.
“I love you,” he whispered in Daniel’s ear.
Once again Daniel said nothing. That was the third time he’d declared his love for the man only to be ignored. Ryker wondered if Daniel was questioning his role in their new-found relationship.
The one thing that kept niggling at the back of his mind was why Daniel seemed internally connected to him and Hakan, but they didn’t have the same connection with Daniel. It was something he’d wanted to discuss with Mother, but the attacks on the cougar and bobcat shifters had taken the forefront. He still hadn’t told Daniel The Hunters had taken Jarek.
Right or wrong, Ryker thought it would be easier on Daniel if he thought Jarek was killed. Even though it had been over twenty years since Daniel and his people had been captured and tortured, Ryker knew the anguish of losing his entire species was still an open wound for Daniel.
“When will we leave?” Daniel asked, gazing up at Ryker with those royal ‘true blue’ eyes.
“We need to be in Vancouver when the other shifters land, but we need to go to Refuge first.” How did he tell Daniel they were going to Refuge to drop him off?
“How long before you finish?” he asked Hakan.
“The shells will be done in a matter of hours if all goes well, but I don’t have gunpowder, so I can’t load ’em.”
Ryker nodded. “We’ve got plenty of powder and people to do that at Refuge.”
He ran a hand through Daniel’s hair. “We’ll leave at first light.”
Chapter Three
Hakan tried to concentrate on his breathing as he, Riker and Daniel flew across the country aboard Ryker’s private plane.
“Relax,” Ryker soothed.
“I should’ve just shifted and flown myself,” Hakan mumbled. He hated the stale air he was being forced to breathe. He hated everything about flying in the manmade piece of machinery.
Ryker kissed him just below the ear. “You know Daniel wouldn’t have been able to handle that.”
“Yeah,” Hakan agreed. He looked across from them at the sleeping man on the sofa. Daniel’s energy was starting to run low. Hakan hoped his new lover would last until the war with The Hunters was over, but he was beginning to think it would be a close thing.
Not only was he keeping secrets from Daniel, but from Ryker as well. Would they forgive him? He knew Ryker was already starting to suspect something was off with Daniel. Damn the promise he’d made to Father Sky.
“I know how to take your mind off the flight.” Ryker’s hand started kneading the front of Hakan’s jeans.
Spreading his legs, Hakan unfastened himself. A soft moan came from Daniel as the exhausted man slept. The sound drew Ryker’s attention.
“Do you think he’ll ever love us like we love him?”
Hakan shifted uncomfortably in his chair. “I think he already does.”
“Then why won’t he acknowledge it when we tell him?”
“He will. Give him time.” Hakan bit his lip to keep himself from saying anything else.
As Ryker’s lips descended on his cock, Hakan threaded his fingers through his lover’s blond hair. The expert tongue running the length of his shaft had Hakan moaning in no time.
His gaze shifted to Daniel as he began to thrust up into Ryker’s mouth. The dark circles under the small man’s eyes worried him. The fact that Daniel hadn’t stirred when Ryker began the expert blowjob worried him even more.
The idea had been to leave Daniel at Refuge while the rest of them dealt with The Hunters, but Hakan was beginning to rethink that plan.
Until he purged his own self-loathing in the sacred waters of Crater Lake, Daniel would continue to grow weaker until…
Hakan shook his head and returned his attention to the mouth currently servicing his cock. He ran his finger around the stretched lips surrounding his shaft. How was it possible to go from never being in love to needing someone like your next breath in a day? Was it the reason the two of them had been kept apart for so many years? Did Father Sky know Hakan would put Daniel and Ryker above all once they met?
Daniel whimpered, attracting Hakan’s attention. He wasn’t sure if his lover was dreaming, or was in pain. Regardless, Daniel’s creased forehead was a sign of distress. Hakan would need to settle a few things with Father, and soon.
* * * *
“I can’t wait to see Layla,” Daniel commented as they neared Refuge.
Ryker grinned as he pulled up to the gate. An incredibly muscled man with black and silver hair stepped out of the guard shack, weapon in hand.
“Hi, Mica,” Ryker greeted.
Mica bent over in a reverent bow. “Guardian.”
“I’d like you to meet Hakan, Guardian of the Sky, and Daniel, King of the Coyotes.”
Once again Mica bowed. “It’s an honor to serve you. I’ll open the gate.”
“Any problems?” Ryker asked before Mica could walk away.
“None. There’s been a steady trickle of new arrivals, though.”
“That’s good. The more we can get inside the fence, the more we can save.”
Mica nodded in acknowledgment, and retreated to the guard building. Soon the tall electrified gates opened, and Ryker drove through.
“Is Mica always so full of personality?” Hakan chuckled.
Ryker brushed the subtle insult off. It wasn’t Mica’s fault he wasn’t like everyone else, it was Mother’s. It was something they’d argued long and hard about before Ryker finally let it go. “He does his job. That’s what’s important.”
As they drove toward the small town he’d had built, Ryker spotted the occasional home springing up. “Looks like some of the cats are already starting to settle in.”
“How many do you think made it here?” Daniel asked.
“I don’t know, but Jack should be able to give us a fairly accurate count.” Ryker noticed Hakan’s expression. “Something wrong, love?”
Hakan continued to look out the window toward the sky. “No,” he mumbled. “The place looks perfect.”
Ryker knew Hakan was thinking of the bird shifters. “You know any of your people are welcome at Refuge. Even if it’s to continue living in their bird-skin, they’ll be safer here.”
“I’ll tell them, but I doubt they’ll come. They don’t seem to need me much anymore.”
Daniel must’ve picked up on Hakan’s distress, because he unfastened his seatbelt and climbed into Hakan’s lap. “I need you.”
Hakan shared a deep kiss with Daniel. “I know you do, sweetheart.”
The two gorgeous men shared a few more deep kisses. Hakan rubbed his nose against Daniel’s. “I need to talk to Father. I know you’ll feel the separation between Ryker and I, but it can’t be helped.”
Daniel nodded. “It helps when I know you’re coming back.”
“Believe me, nothing in the world could keep me from coming back.” Tapping Ryker on the shoulder, Hakan pointed toward a cluster of rocks. “Let me off here. I’ll find my way to Jack’s.”
Ryker slowed the truck to a stop. “When you’re finished, just go down the road another mile and a half. Jack and Toby’s place is the first house in town on the left.”
Hakan deposited Dani
el in the seat beside Ryker. “I won’t be long.”
Ryker leaned across Daniel to give Hakan a deep, tongue thrusting kiss. “Hurry back as fast as you can, babe.”
Both their gazes went to Daniel and Hakan nodded. Ryker watched his lover get out of the truck and jog toward the boulders. Wrapping an arm around Daniel, Ryker continued down the road.
He parked beside Jack’s Jeep. He’d noticed Daniel didn’t seem to be in as much distress as he’d feared. “Is it getting easier for you when Hakan and I aren’t together?”
“Yes, because even though you aren’t close, I can feel your love for each other,” Daniel mumbled without looking at Ryker.
Ryker noticed Daniel’s sudden mood change, but decided to chalk it up to the long flight, and even longer drive to Refuge. “Let’s go say hi to our friends.”
Ryker exited the truck and helped Daniel down. Before they even reached the stairs, the front door opened and Toby stepped out onto the porch.
“Hey,” Toby said, launching himself into Ryker’s arms.
“Where’s Jack?”
“Out being his usual Alpha self. Give me a little kiss, and he’ll come running,” Toby replied with a wicked grin.
Ryker glanced down at Daniel and smiled before giving Toby a quick kiss. He released the King of the Wolves and set him back on his feet. Toby showed them inside.
“Would you like a beer or something?”
“Beer sounds good,” Ryker answered.
“Do you have any milk?” Daniel asked.
“Yep. Have a seat, and I’ll be back in a minute.”
With Daniel sitting by his side, Ryker pointed toward the door. “Any second now.”
Right on cue, Jack came barreling into the room. He narrowed his eyes at Ryker and gave a soft growl.
Laughing, Ryker blew his old friend a kiss. “You’re getting good at that.”
Toby came into the room with a tray of drinks. He handed Daniel a tall glass of milk, while the rest of them enjoyed a cold beer.
