I read this book aloud to my family as I wrote it, and they offered many suggestions and corrections, not to mention endless encouragement. Aedan noticed when certain sentences were weak and made insightful corrections; Asher cheered and said, “I knew it!” at the perfect times; and Autumn Skye went from doodling in her journal at the beginning of the story to cuddling up right next to me and reading along by the end. All the while, Jamie put aside her plans, held her weary eyes open at the end of long days of mothering, and smiled at me from across the family room. Their baffling, tremendous affection for me is God’s grace and nothing less.
Thank you, Reader, for letting me tell you this tale.
(The stories, by the way, are true.)
