Tiki laughed. “But I can imagine being with the family I love more than anything. I think it’s a brilliant idea for all of you to come on honeymoon with us. We shall leave tomorrow.”

Rieker snorted. “You all can leave for Balmoral tomorrow—” Rieker threaded his fingers through Tiki’s— “and we’ll meet up with you later in the week. But, first, Tiki and I are going to go on our honeymoon alone for a few days!”

LATER THAT MORNING, after the others had gone to bed, Wills and Tiki walked hand in hand past the great round bailey at the center of the castle and out onto the parapet. Vast fields stretched before them in pastoral serenity.

“Now that Fial is caring for Faerie the homeless fey are being fed, Seelie and UnSeelie are working together to rebuild what Donegal destroyed,” Tiki said. “I asked Lark—I mean Breanna if she was going to assist him and she told me that she had no desire to rule Faerie. After all these years of making everyone believe that was her greatest desire—it turns out she just wants to spend time with her family. They are both so excited to make up for all those last years with you and Dain and Clara.”

“I know we have so much to learn about my mother and father,” Wills said, “but for once, I feel like we have time. And speaking of time,” Wills glanced down at Tiki. “When we return, I’d like to get back to work on the Thomas James Ragged School. Have you noticed how many hungry children there are on the streets of London? Someone needs to help them.”

Tiki leaned her head against his shoulder. “I agree. One of the things Larkin asked me when she was trying to help me find my way was if I would choose a child or a kingdom.” Tiki gazed out over the fields of England and imagined she could see them stretching all the way into the Otherworld. “What I’ve learned is that I don’t have to choose. With the love of my family and friends—I can do both.”

  The End

  Author’s Note

Thank you for reading THE FAERIE QUEEN. I hope you enjoyed Tiki’s story. You might find it interesting to know that Dunvegan Castle does have a Faerie Tower and the Faerie Flag is a real artifact and considered the MacLeod Clan’s most prized possession. The legend of the flag does say the flag was a gift to an ancient MacLeod relative from a faerie. The flag is presently on display at Dunvegan Castle in Scotland. You can read more about it on the Dunvegan Castle website here: http://www.dunvegancastle.com/content/default.asp?page=s2_5

St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle is where much of English royalty have been married and buried. The longest occupied castle in Europe (for over one thousand years now) Windsor Castle is the current Queen of England’s residence and both Prince Leopold and Prince Arthur are interred in St. George’s Chapel there.

Also, the White Drawing Room in Buckingham Palace does have a concealed door. There are ebony-veneered cabinets with gilt-bronze mounts positioned behind tall mirrors at each end of the room. In the northwestern corner of the room, the cabinet and mirror move as one to reveal the secret door which is used as a private passageway for the royal family when they want to discreetly move between rooms.

There is a Faerie Bridge on the Isle of Skye – supposedly the spot where the faerie wife who left the MacLeod’s the Faerie Flag bid goodbye to her mortal husband.
