Case of Desire Page 18

by Jacquelin Thomas

He smiled at the thought of marrying Camille.

What are you smiling about?” she asked him.

“I was thinking about our wedding. I can’t wait to make you my wife.”

Camille took Maxwell by the hand. “You know this means that you’re going to be stuck with me forever?”

He laughed. “I can’t think of any other place I’d rather be than by your side.”

“Well, I’m all packed,” Camille announced, looking over her shoulder at the suitcase on the bed. “I’m looking forward to this Christmas, and every Christmas, in New York.”

“It’s the first of many more,” Maxwell murmured as he pulled her into his arms. “We have a lifetime of memories ahead of us.”

Special thanks and acknowledgment to Jacquelin Thomas for her contribution to the Hopewell General miniseries.
