Jun shuddered. Threats from her future husband were far from romantic. “I hate you,” she calmly told him. “Are you sure you'd want a wife who hates you more than she's ever hated anyone?”
“I could live with it. In fact, it's rather exciting. When I dominate you... when I break you... your hatred will make it even more satisfying.” Feng smiled down at Jun as his thumb lovingly brushed across her cheek. “So... will you agree to marry me, then?”
Jun didn't reply, nor did she nod or shake her head. But her silence was good enough for the prince.
“Good! Then it's settled. You're going to be my wife, Shuchun Jun! You know, I would congratulate you, but I feel more inclined to congratulate myself.” Feng leaned down to kiss her, but for a moment, his lips hovered over hers. In a chillingly deep voice, he whispered, “No man has ever had a more beautiful bride.”
When the prince's lips touched hers, Jun already felt dead on the inside.
There was no one left to save her.
A Note from the Author
Thank you so much for reading my story! If you enjoyed it, it would be a great help if you left a review. It doesn't have to be long. Just a sentence or two is fine. It might inspire me to keep writing!
I hope you return for A Broken Outlaw, which will be released in November 2017. It is the seventh and final book in the Belles & Bullets series.
