“Hey look, sorry but you got greedy here. First you tricked us, then you lied to us.”

“I’m going, screw this!” the pilot said as a large swarm of the undead began to arrive to the area.

“Jump or I’ll shoot you!” Jason said.

“You don’t have the guts,” Amanda said. Jason shook his head and pistol whipped her hard, knocking her out of the chopper. “Here, you might need this!” he shouted as he dropped the gun to her as Sarah clambered into the helicopter. It took off fast and lifted high into the air.

“Oh man that was close,” Jason said, pausing to take a deep breath. “I can’t believe we did it.”

“No kidding,” Sarah said. “Sir, where are we headed?”

“Camp Williams, the military base. Plenty of guns and soldiers there. We should be safe,” the pilot replied. “Shame about Jackson, he was a good friend.”

“Sure, yeah,” Jason said, looking out at Salt Lake City as the helicopter rose higher and higher in the air. They had made it out of the city alive and as he watched the swarms of the undead roll through the streets, he felt a deep feeling of disgust in him. His beautiful hometown was invaded and it wasn’t right. Maybe it had been a disease, or an attack, but all he knew for certain was that he wouldn’t give up on his city just yet.

“Hey that military base is controlled by the National Guard right?” Jason asked.

  “Yeah,” the pilot replied.

Jason squeezed Sarah’s hand and looked out at the city. “Well I think they just got a new recruit.”
