Circle of Deception Page 3

by Skye, M.

“Now you're getting the message,” he whispered, in a deep gruff voice. While he was kissing her neck and stroking her insides, she extended her hand down the front of his slacks to unzip them. His rapid strokes and hot kisses were wreaking havoc on her senses, and all, she wanted at that point, was to feel his rock-solid erection in the palm of her hands.

When she finally came in contact with his flesh, he let out a low, throaty moan. If a simple touch could cause that reaction, she wondered what would happen once he was inside her again after so many years. Judging from the heady sensations he was sending through her, she knew that it would feel wonderful.

When she began to stroke him, she felt his body begin to stiffen, and she let out a low moan of anticipation. He increased his pace, and she did the same causing him to dig deeper. After a few minutes of pleasure, he decided he had to have her, all of her.

“Meg, I’m dying. I need to be right here,” he and rubbed his hand across her thighs.

When she hiked her dress up above her hips and parted her legs, he smiled and slid his hips closer. He closed in on her and took her lips in one last passionate kiss before entering her. After retiring from the intense kiss, he began to address her in a deep raspy voice. “I know we have a lot to discuss, but are you sure?” Without hesitation, she said yes and guided him inside her.

At first contact, he found a resistance that he wasn’t expecting and looked to her with wondering eyes. When he saw her wince in pain, he started to pull out until she locked her legs around his waist and gave him an expression that said keep going. He smiled at her as he began to move inside her.

While stroking her slowly, he had several ideas running through his head. He wondered why she felt so tight. He knew she wasn’t a virgin, so why all the resistance? Although he knew she had been sexually active, he also knew she hadn’t been with many others. He was her first, and he had wanted to be her only. He knew that was too much to ask after everything that had happened. Or was it? Then it dawned on him; she hadn’t had sex since him six years ago. That simple fact made him love her even more than he did before.

After several strokes, she signaled to him that she needed more by pulling him closer and wrapping her arms around his neck. Being so close to her was driving him over the edge, but he wanted to be sure he had her there with him. When he gripped her tightly and began to roll his hips into hers, she gripped his neck tighter and moaned in his ear. Her warm breath threatened to send him over the edge and drove him to pound into her fiercely, causing her head to fly backward.

When she laid her head back on the mirror behind her, he held her to him and continued to ram into her. She couldn’t believe the sheer pleasure she was experiencing in a building full of people. She had never behaved so wantonly in her entire life.

Only the man thrusting in and out of her brought out such feelings and she was powerless against his obvious tool of persuasion. Her expectation was quickly building, and then she felt it. The last stroke he gave sent her flying willingly over the edge with her chest heaving rapidly against his.

Feeling her body shiver and contract around him sent him crashing into the ecstasy only she could provide. It was a sensation he knew all too well, and desperately missed until now. His release inside her felt even better than she remembered it. How she went six years without him was a mystery.

Having him raise and shatter her expectations for the night was the single best experience she had the whole week, but she would never admit that out loud. Both sweaty and out of breath, they just sat there looking into each other’s eyes, still reeling over what just took place. It wasn’t until they heard the knocking on the door that they disconnected their bodies.

The knocking snapped them back into reality and they remembered that they were, in fact, in a public place acting like horny teenagers. With a flushed expression and mild embarrassment, Meg pushed Alex back and jumped off the sink quickly while the pounding outside the door persisted.

After collecting her discarded panties, she pushed Alex into a stall and unlocked the door. When the unsuspecting woman stepped inside the restroom, she took one look at Meg and rushed into one of the free stalls. Meg knew that as long as the woman was in the restroom Alex wouldn’t come out, and she decided to take the chance to escape.

Before she made her way out of the door, she captured her appearance in the mirror and stopped to freshen herself up. After making herself presentable, she slipped out of the restroom just seconds before the woman came out of the stall and rushed towards the table. The trip was quick, but it still didn’t stop the memories of what happened just minutes earlier from floating through her mind. As she took her seat, she shot Emily a look of distress, which she picked up instantly.

Emily, who was lost about what was going on, just slipped away from the table to go rescue Alex. After watching Emily walk away, Meg looked over and saw the questioning stares from the occupants of the table. There was an awkward silence before a word was spoken.

“What took you so long in there?” Maddie asked, breaking the silence.

“We had several things to talk about,” Meg answered sharply.

  “Like what?”

“How about that all of you set us up,” she snapped. “That was such a dirty trick. To ambush us that way after six years was low.”

Once Maddie saw the serious look on Meg’s face, her smile faded, and she began to feel bad for her involvement in the plan. Meg saw the sorrow in her sister’s eyes and felt horrible, yet slightly relieved. As long as they were feeling guilty they wouldn’t continue to snoop and find out what happened just minutes earlier. Once the table went back to normal, Meg let out a sigh of relief and smiled at temporarily being off the hook. At least with them.

Emily was going to be a different matter, and when she looked over at Gio, she realized he would be as well. His smile was smug and she figured out that he knew exactly what had occurred in the restroom. “This is going to be one long night,” she sighed, while dreading the conversation she knew was sure to follow between her, Emily, and Gio.

  Chapter 3

  Smoke Screen

Emily sighed before she pulled the door open to enter. Walking into the restroom, Emily scanned the room and checked the stalls making sure there were no other women inside before knocking on the stall Alex was standing in.

“Come on, the coast is clear.”

“Are you sure?” he asked, before stepping out.

“Yes I’m sure. Get out here.” When she saw his glazed over expression, she started in with the questions. “What happened in here?”

  “We talked,” he replied quickly.

“It looks like you did more than talk, and why did she run out of here?”

“It's a lot to explain,” he said quietly, while eying the exit.

“I’ll let you off the hook for now because we need to get out of here, but you're telling me everything later.”

When they were both successfully out of the restroom, she stopped him in the hallway. “You need get yourself together,” she said, pointing towards the men’s room. On the walk to the table, Emily stopped before approaching the group to gather her thoughts. She wasn’t sure what this meant, but she was certain it was a step in the right direction.

After six years of celibacy, Meg had given in after just a few minutes alone in a restroom with Alex. This had to mean that she was still in love with him like they all suspected. She couldn’t wait to grill her about the obvious bathroom fling, but that would have to wait until after dinner. When she finally gathered herself enough, she slipped back into her seat and gave Meg a smile letting her know that they got out fine. Meg gave her a subtle smile of recognition before turning back to her conversation.

Meg felt a sudden wave of relief wash over her after exchanging looks with Emily and sat back and exhaled deeply. This didn’t go unnoticed by Gio, who was eagerly waiting to get into what happened. He thought something felt a little off, and when he saw the exchange, he knew he had
a lot to ask when the time was right. When Emily looked up and saw Alex returning looking refreshed, she gave him two thumbs up and winked as he took his place next to Meg.

He offered her a slight grin after taking his seat, and began to address the group while patting her thigh under the table. In an attempt to keep the focus off their time alone, he angled the conversation towards everyone else. He didn’t mean to make her feel unimportant, but he wasn’t sure what the encounter meant to her. She slipped off before they could discuss things, and he was sure she wouldn’t want to talk about it in front an audience. His nonchalant attitude threw them off, but no one let on. They just continued their dinner as if nothing happened.

The whole night was a success. Despite the awkward looks when Alex brushed up against her, Meg had a fabulous time. She was happy that she was tricked into this night. For the first time, in a while, it felt like things hadn’t changed between them.

As much as she hated to admit it, having Alex so close felt wonderful and she wanted it to last forever. Everything was going so well that Aiden had the bright idea of requesting that they all get together later that week for another dinner, and everyone quickly agreed. At the end of the meal, the waiter arrived with the checks, and without hesitation, Alex took both his and Meg’s, offering up his credit card.

His gesture stunned her, and she offered him a bright smile. Shortly afterward, she looked up and saw the others watching them intently and broke her gaze, looking off towards the door. After settling their checks, they all began to head towards the exit. Alex waited until they were out of earshot and sprinted ahead to grab Meg’s arm in an attempt to speak to her privately.

“Angel Face, we need to talk.”

“We do, but not here,” she whispered.

“I’m afraid if I let you go you're going to just keep on running.”

She watched the door as the spoke plotting her escape. “I promise we will talk, but we can’t do that here.”

“Okay, I’ll let this go for now, but I have to see you soon.”

“You will,” she offered him a reassuring smile.

When he leaned in to kiss her, she turned her head and his kiss landed on her cheek. Her actions hurt, but he didn’t let on and released her arm while still smiling at her. He wasn’t happy about letting her go, but he didn’t want to push her too far. As he watched her walk away, he thought back on the night she left him.

It was the exact night that she ripped his heart out six years earlier. He couldn’t understand why he couldn’t get her out of his head. Sure she was his first, but she left him high and dry right at the moment that he was sure she was the one. The memories of that night came flooding back into his mind, and he sank down on the curb in deep thought.

  ***

Most of the night was a blur. He was out with Aiden one minute, and in his bed passed out the following. He had just bought the ring for Meg, and he was nervous. Aiden took him out for drinks to calm his nerves and the next thing he knew they were involved in a raging party. The party was wild and not his style, but he stayed anyway. He had plans on meeting with Meg and popping the question, but he lost track of time and got lost in the wild behavior.

After a few drinks, Aiden was nowhere to be found, and he was being hit on by some women. At that point, he felt so out of it he couldn’t make out the faces of the women surrounding him. He figured he must have met back up with Aiden at some point because the next thing he knew he was safely in his bed. The next morning he woke up with the biggest hangover in his lifetime, and the biggest heartbreak to follow.

The first person on his mind, when he woke up, was Meg. He thought of her at the beginning and ending of every day. That fact alone let him know that she was the one he wanted to be with forever. He met Meg when they were both eleven, and he never knew a woman who captivated him more. She was exotic, beautiful, funny, smart, and loving, he couldn’t ask for more in a woman.

While staring down at the beautiful princess cut ring, he picked up the telephone to call and arrange the most romantic evening for her. “Tonight will be the night,” he said to himself, smiling at the ring one last time.

After assembling plans, he rushed off to get himself together for the best night of his life. He had called her several times, but she didn’t answer. He figured she would just show up because he gave her a detailed message on how to get to him.

They always spent Saturday nights together, and he knew she would never miss one of their nights. As his nerves began to take over again, he remembered her smile and calmed himself down. She was the only woman who could make him want to settle down. So why wouldn’t asking her to marry him be the best choice? He had only been in love with her for over half his life, he thought and brightened his smile.

After getting dressed and glancing over himself, he rushed out to the restaurant to begin his future. He was the first to arrive, so he took his seat and ordered a bottle of champagne. When the waiter walked up and let him know that everything was all set, he smiled and graciously thanked him.

While waiting for her, he went ahead and ordered her favorite appetizer and continued to watch the door. After over thirty minutes, he started to worry and tried calling again. After six rings, her voice mail picked up, and he left another message. At that point, his calm mood turned into anxiety. It wasn’t until he looked up and saw Aiden racing into the restaurant that he knew what was going on.

Aiden arrived with a letter and a somber look on his face. The look on his face said it all. Once he opened the letter, Alex felt tears beginning to sting his cheeks. The more he read, the tighter his grip became on the letter. When the waiter came over, Aiden slid him his card and waved him away quickly. The letter explained that Meg was transferring to another college. He couldn’t believe what was going on. Here he was planning to spend the rest of his life with her, and she couldn’t wait to get away from him.

  “Where did you find this?”

“Emily dropped it off at the house about twenty minutes ago.”

“She can’t go, I have to find her,” he declared and stormed out of the restaurant.

When they arrived at Emily and Meg’s apartment, they found it empty besides the furniture. All of their things were gone and there was no sign of the girls. It looked as if they packed up like thieves in the night.

Aiden, who was still harboring feelings for Emily, just dropped down on the couch and exhaled deeply. “How could I have let this happen?

“What do you mean?” Alex asked in a confused tone.

“It was my fault, I never should have taken you to that party.”

Alex’s memories were foggy about the night before. “What about the party? I can’t remember any of it.”

“There was a woman who took you home last night after we separated,” Aiden told him.

“So she took me home what's the big deal?” he asked with a puzzled look.

“She passed out in your bed and I saw Meg running down the steps shortly after I got home.”

“Nothing happened, I didn’t even know there was anyone next to me.”

“I know you didn’t sleep with her, but Meg doesn’t,” Aiden said. “She ran out before I could catch her.”

“I have to explain everything, I can’t lose her because of this,” Alex said and picked up his phone. After a series of unanswered phone calls, they got up and left the apartment with a sense of defeat looming over them. “I can’t believe she left me,” he said and took one last look at the apartment.

Unbeknownst to him, it would be six long years before he saw the love of his life again.

  ***

As the memories began to subside, he stuck his hand into his coat pocket and took out a black velvet box. He still carried the ring he bought her around as if he was planning to give it to her. The truth was even now, after six years apart, he still considered her the one.

Watching her walk away tonight made him realize that he never wanted her to leave again. He had taken some steps to get h
er to come back to him, and he hoped they would work. For weeks, he had been planning their reunion, hoping for the best. The moment he watched her walk away, he made up his mind that he was going to win her back. He was more determined than ever that his ring would rest on her finger before it was all said and done. After tonight, he was sure he wanted her to be his forever. The way she reacted to him let him know she still had strong feelings for him. The idea that she probably hadn't slept with anyone since him made him, feel a sense of possessiveness towards her. She was and always would be his, whether she wanted to admit it or not.

In the car with Meg and Emily, Gio started in instantly with badgering questions. “So are you going to tell me what happened in the ladies' room?”

“We talked over some things,” she retorted dismissively.

“So you told him why you left him?”

  “It didn’t come up.”

“Now I understand. If that didn’t come up, I surely know what did,” he said and smiled cleverly. “You gave it up in the restroom you little slut.”

Meg, who was flushed with embarrassment, just looked straight ahead without answering his question. “I knew it,” he screeched when he saw her red complexion.

“How did this happen?” Emily questioned impatiently.

“He came to talk and one thing led to another.” The looks on their faces after she made her admission were purely comical to say the least. They were amused and impressed by her bold behavior.

“Who came on to whom?” Emily probed.

“He kissed me first, and I just lost all control,” Meg giggled. “My legs parted like the red sea before I knew it.”

“You have always been easy when it came to Alex,” Gio said jokingly.

“So what does this mean?” Emily queried optimistically.

“Nothing has changed,” Meg huffed. “I just had a moment of weakness.”

“You can say whatever you want, but you are not over that man,” Gio asserted in a slightly serious tone.

“I may not be over him, but I will not fall back into old habits,” Meg insisted.
