Circle of Deception Page 5

by Skye, M.

If they took the time to get to know her, they would have figured out there was more to her. She had only had two lovers in her life that she became intimate with. The only people, who knew the real story about her, were Meg and Gio. She hoped one day she could share her complex history with Aiden. The genuine smile he was giving her said that she could tell him anything.

“What's going on in that little head of yours?” he asked, and rubbed her hand.

“I was just thinking about how we wasted years that we could have been building something.”

“The years together were well worth it. We got to be great friends, and that’s what helps make a relationship.” When he took his arm and wrapped it around her shoulders, she laid her head in the crook of his neck and exhaled deeply.

“This is nice,” he said and smiled.

“We’re here!” Gio yelled as he and Marco made their way in. When they discovered Emily and Aiden cuddled up on the couch, he developed the biggest grin. Emily saw the look on his face and knew he couldn’t wait to start in.

“Isn’t this just the cutest little scene?”

“Hello to you too,” Aiden said and smiled.

“When is the wedding?” Gio asked playfully.

“I don’t know about a wedding, but we are developing something here,” Aiden countered happily.

“Well, I for one say it's about damn time,” Gio smiled winking at them both.

“I don’t know about you guys, but I am ready to get this party started,” Marco said and took out a bottle of Jose Cuervo.

“I’m down for that,” Aiden said and went to grab some shot glasses.

“Do you have limes?” Marco asked.

“You bet I do,” Aiden said while rummaging through the mini refrigerator behind the bar. Once he had everything gathered, they all took seats on the stools, and Marco began to pour up the shots.

“Bottoms up,” Gio said and raised his glass with the others following closely behind him.

“Baby, that was great,” Meg panted breathlessly after a full round of lovemaking on her couch.

“Don’t get too comfortable because we aren’t done.”

“I don’t know if I can take much more,” she said and fell back exhausted.

“We have a good deal of time to make up for,” he said and ran his hand down her thighs.

“Okay, that’s it,” she said and climbed on top of his lap.

“That's what I’m talking about,” he grinned.

When he picked her up and started to walk with her in his arms, she giggled and started to fire off questions. “Where are you taking me?”

“I’m taking you to the bed then to the shower and back to the bed again,” he said and spread her legs around his waist.

“You are going to wear me out. I still need to have usage of my legs after this,” she wrapped her arms around his neck.

“You won’t need them for at least two more days,” he grinned mischievously.

Once he got into her room, he gently slid her body down his while caressing her curves. His hands all over her and the intense expression in his eyes built her anxiety, and she couldn’t wait to feel him inside her once more. “Alex, baby, let’s get down to business,” she said in a voice she didn’t even recognize as her own. Only he could bring out such passion in her when she was worn out.

“I’m more than ready,” he said and smiled.

While pushing her back on the bed, he found her neck and latched on. Once her back was flat on the bed, he stood above her taking in the sight of her delicious naked body. While eying her curves, his eyes fell to her stomach. For a few moments, his eyes were locked there. He thought of the life they created and how it was cut short before they ever got to know him or her. When she noticed his emotional gaze, she started to question him.

“Why are you looking at me like that?”

“I was just thinking about our baby,” he responded. One mention of the baby sparked a feeling of sadness in her, and she tried to hide it unsuccessfully.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to upset you,” he caressed her cheek.

“It's just that I feel responsible,” she looked down.

“Don’t feel bad. I was just thinking that having kids with you will be wonderful,” he smiled at her lovingly.

“You want to have kids?” she asked with teary eyes.

“Yes I do. I know it’s a little late to ask, but are you on anything?” he asked shyly.

When the reality, they had sex without protection not once but twice in a day, sank in, she began to take shallow breaths. “Oh god Alex we didn’t… I didn’t… and we…”

“Shh,” he placed his finger on her lips.

“Last time was an accident. We didn’t plan getting pregnant then,” she said frantically.

“If we get pregnant it will be great. Baby, I want a family with you,” he took her hand in his.

“I don’t know what to say,” she said as tears began to descend her cheeks.

“Umm you could say yes,” he chuckled lightly.

“Yes! A million times yes,” she leaned in to kiss him.

When their lips met, he pushed her back down on the bed with his body covering hers. “Let's get started,” he said and slid his hands down to her hips. His hands were all over her and he didn’t leave one inch of her untouched as he explored thoroughly. “You feel so soft,” he whispered against her tanned skin.

His touch was threatening a premature orgasm on her part, and she was damned if she would let that happen. “Baby, I want to be on top,” she said and sat up.

“You will have your turn, but right now I’m driving this bus. You just sit back and enjoy the ride,” he said and ran his tongue down her thigh. When he lightly nipped her with his teeth, she felt like she was going to explode and began to move underneath him. Her movements got him excited, and he set out to slide his tongue until he stopped at her warm center.

Before dipping his tongue inside, he paused and blew a gust of cool air across her aroused body, causing shivers to race through her. When he looked up and saw her fisting the sheets, he plunged inside and started to stroke her gently with his tongue. As he stroked her slowly and intimately, he saw her grip tighten on the sheets and he smirked against her flesh. Their encounters earlier that night had been fast with a sense of urgency, but this time he wanted to take his time and let her know just how much she was missed over the years.

His slow pace gave him the exact reaction he was reaching for when she began to gyrate beneath him. When she started to move and quicken his stride, he put his hands underneath her to cup and hold her tight against his mouth, and she moaned loudly. He knew what she was trying to do, but he wasn’t going to let that happen. He wanted her to melt on his tongue before he let her go.

While dipping and swirling, swirling and licking, her moans began to intensify. “Oh baby, that’s it,” he said and dug in deeper. When she grabbed a handful of his hair and wove her fingers through it, he knew she was near her breaking point and sped up slightly.

His movements had her spinning, and when she tried to sit up, he held her stomach down with his palm. “You're not getting up until you give me what I want,” he whispered against her flesh. When he began to move his tongue in a circular motion, all of her restraint flew out the window and she trembled underneath him, signaling her powerful release.

“That's my girl,” he slid up to her mouth with a satisfied look on his face. As he took her lips into an intense kiss, he settled himself on top of her. “Spread them,” he demanded as he ran his hands across her thighs.

His take control attitude was turning her on. Shocked that she grasped his requests after the powerful orgasm she just experienced, she moved her thighs apart and he settled himself between them. He leaned down to give her a light peck on the lips.

When their bodies joined again, he felt all of her moisture and almost lost his mind. “You feel so good,” he whispered against her neck while movin
g inside her. With each thrust of his hips, he realized that taking it slow had its rewards.

By taking his time to enjoy her body, he could slip deeper and deeper into her crevices. He could see and enjoy all the intense expressions on her face as she started to climb the walls of ecstasy. It was inebriating, and it made him push harder. “Alex, yes,” she panted when he started to caress her aroused nipples with his tongue.

“Spread them all the way,” he demanded and clutched her hips tighter. As soon as she obliged his request, he surged deeper inside her causing her to gasp inside his mouth. “Oh, baby,” he moaned as he began to feel her quiver around his arousal.

“I don’t want to go yet,” she whispered and closed her eyes.

“Open your eyes,” he demanded causing them to flutter open. “You have to give me one of those charming screams before this is over, and you're not getting up until you do,” he said, and slipped his arms under her back and gripped her shoulders. When he sent a round of deep thrusts flying her way, she screamed out and tightened her legs around his waist. “Oh Meg,” he yelled, feeling her beginning crash around him.

After he screamed her name, she lost all sense of control and offered up one more orgasm. Once he felt her stiffen and then relax around him, he released inside her with a powerful climax that left him breathlessly shaking above her. For a few moments, he sat above her looking down into her hazel eyes with an expression of awe. His expression caused her to smile and then exhale deeply. “So what's next?” she asked softly.

When she started to talk, he rolled over to his side and drew her to his chest. “We have all weekend to make love but after what we just shared, I just want to lie here with you,” he said and ran his hand down her spine.

“We can do that, but you have to say it first,” she said and smiled devilishly.

“Say what?” he asked, with an equally devious grin.

She took his hand in hers and kissed it. “I’m the only one for you.”

“You're the only one, and you just earned yourself a steaming hot bubble bath with your personal bather,” he said and pulled her up in his arms.

“Only if you will join me,” she said, and followed him to the bathroom.

  Chapter 4

  Things We Knew

“Where am I?” Emily asked herself as she looked around the room with the sun beaming through the black panels. When she felt a strong arm draped around her waist, she shivered slightly. “What did I do?”

When she rolled over and saw Aiden lying next to her, she sighed in relief. “Oh god, did we sleep together?” she asked herself while looking down at his sleeping form. The tequila shots she drank the night before wrecked her memory and everything was foggy. When Aiden woke and saw her state of confusion, he started to laugh softly.

  “What's so funny?”

“Your expression,” he said while still laughing.

“What happened here? Did we sleep together?” she asked noticing that she was wearing a large T- shirt and no pants.

“Wow! I can’t believe you think so little of me,” he said, feigning hurt.

“Well, how did we get like this?” she asked pointing to his boxers.

“Okay, so I understand you have a lapse in your memory so sit back and I’ll tell you everything. We had too many drinks and you got sick. You threw up all over me and yourself, so I took you and put you in the shower. Once we finished the shower, I found some of my clothes to dress you in. It was all innocent,” he explained.

“Thank you. How did we end up in bed together?” she asked shyly.

“When I brought you in to lay you down, you reached for me and asked me to stay with tears in your eyes.”

“I know we were drinking, but I felt like there was something else going on. I didn’t want to leave you so I laid down next to you, and you nestled up next to me.”

“I’m sorry. I swore never again to drink like that. I don’t know what came over me.”

“It's fine. I’m just glad you enjoyed yourself. You said some things that got to me. Would you like to talk about it?” he asked softly.

“I don’t know. I don’t want you to think any less of me.”

“I would never judge you,” he said and grinned at her sincerely.

When she saw the reassuring look in his eyes, she began to relax and decided to trust him with the secret that has weighed her down for over six years. Before she began her story, she looked at him for a moment longer and took a deep breath.

“When we transferred out it wasn’t just for Meg. It was mostly for me.”

“I don’t get it. I thought you guys went away because of the woman, and to be closer to Gio for support,” he interrupted.

“That was part of the reason, but not the main one. Our decision, to go to Columbia, was because of Gio, but it was my fault,” she said with tears beginning to form in her eyes.

“Don’t cry. Just calm down and tell me what happened.”

“I was partying at the skyline. Meg told me not to go because she knew how rowdy they could get. Of course, I ignored her and called her old and boring for not agreeing to come with me and went alone. Once I got there, I saw some guys I recognized from campus and got a booth with them.”

“That’s the same party we attended. It got crazy,” he said, with a sad look on his face.

“You were there?” she asked with an expression of disgust on her face.

“What's wrong?” he asked when he noticed her expression.

“Did you see me there?” she asked, feeling a sense of embarrassment.

“No, I didn’t. If I had seen you, I would have been there keeping you company.”

Looking in her eyes, he saw sadness that he had never seen from her. This got him worried about what the rest of the story entailed. In an attempt to offer her support, he took her hand in his. With his fingers weaved through hers, she continued her story with his full attention. “I don’t remember how I left there. I remember a guy taking me back to a hotel room. It was blurry, but I do remember one thing about him,” she said and paused.

“What was it?” he asked in a calm voice.

“He said something about the lights. It was as if he was afraid of the dark.”

“Do you remember agreeing to have sex with him?” Aiden asked.

“At the time, I didn’t remember much of anything. I didn't know who he was. I never saw his face,” she responded.

“I know it’s not ideal, but it was college. We all had hookups we weren’t proud of,” he said, trying to smooth over the situation.

“You don’t understand. As the day went on, memories began to come back to me, and I remembered that after the club I blacked out,” she said and dropped her head into her hands. “There was no way I could have agreed to anything.”

“Are you saying that you were raped?” Instead of giving him an answer, she began to sob louder causing him to gather her in his arms. “It's all right,” he said while guiding his hand up and down her spine.

“It’s not okay. It was my fault for drinking too much and behaving erratically.”

“You can’t blame yourself. He shouldn’t have taken advantage of you that way.”

Something about this party just didn’t sit right with him. First, Alex said he couldn’t recall what happened to him, and now Emily. He was beginning to believe this was no coincidence.

“Emily, baby, look at me,” he said and raised her eyes to look into his. “None of this is your fault, but I need you to try to remember as much as you can about the guys you were with.”

She closed her eyes and exhaled deeply before responding. “I don’t recall any names. It was just some guys I saw around sometimes, but this guy wasn’t one of them.”

  “Did you report this?”

“I was too embarrassed, and when Meg caught Alex with that girl we just decided it would be best if we left Yale,” she replied.

When he realized that she didn’t recall anything significant, he decided to lay off it for
a while. “It's all right. I’m sorry this happened to you.”

“You don’t think I asked for it?” she asked timidly.

“Of course not!” he shouted and jumped off the bed. “That bastard violated you. We have to talk to Alex and Sean to see if they know anything,” he said while trying to relax himself.

“Why Alex and Sean?” she asked with a confused look on her face.

“The party, you were at, is the exact party where the girl took Alex home, and he doesn’t remember anything either,” he told her.

“And what about Sean? Does he remember anything?”

“He was wasted when he got home, but as far as I know, he remembers everything that happened to him, unfortunately,” he said and chuckled lightly. His laughter lightened the mood, and she began to laugh too, while thinking about Sean and his notorious party boy image back in college.

Sean was Alex and Aiden’s roommate, and had a reputation with women. When he showed up three years ago on Maddie's arm, they were all shocked.

The Sean, they knew, was not the type to settle down, and for him to be in a committed relationship so long was baffling.

Once they reconnected, Maddie informed them that she and Sean had been a couple for two years before they revealed it to their friends. The situation was mind-blowing to Aiden and Alex because they roomed with Sean during the beginning of their relationship. They recalled some wild nights during the time he was dating Maddie. They kept those stories to themselves to keep the peace. They knew if Maddie was aware of Sean’s behavior she would hit the roof, and there was no point dredging up the past when they seemed so happy.

“I know this is all upsetting to you, so do you think we can move on to a lighter topic?” Aiden asked with a smile on his face.

“Gladly. Thank you for being here,” she replied and laid her head on his shoulder.

“I can’t think of any place else I would rather be,” he said and moved his finger across her chin. When she looked into his eyes, she saw a look of acceptance that she had always wanted from a man and was overcome with tears. “Baby, don’t cry,” he said and wiped her tears away.
