“Hell no, that wasn’t no damn Bree. I’m over that bitch!” The whole time he talked, I pressed my lips together and gave him a look like ‘yeah right nigga.’ “I’m dead ass serious. You know I was telling you about she had a baby while I was locked up or whatever. Man, guess who that baby daddy is?”
“Who?” My nosey ass wanted to know. I prayed and hoped it want Jay’s baby. That would be some fucked up shit.
“Mothafuckin’ Lo!” When he said that, my bottom lip dropped. Lo was like his and Jay's right hand man. I know damn well Jay didn’t know that shit and kept it from Quintez. It was like he knew what I was thinking, because he said, “Jay don’t even know, I know. Lo either. I’m trying to figure out some more shit before I confront his ass. Some shit I wouldn’t be scared to bet my last penny he had something to do with.”
“Figure out what?” My ass was just nosey for no damn reason at all. Quintez laughed and shook his head.
“Nothing you need to be concerned about, nosey ass,” he let me know. I knew if I kept pressing the issue, he would indeed tell me, but I just left it alone. He said it wasn’t any of my concern, so I knew it had something to do with the drug game.
Quintez and me laughed and chatted a little more, and it felt so good talking to him, you know, just as a friend. It made me miss all the fun we used to have whenever we chilled together. I swear I cherished those moments.
“So, what kind of errands Jay had Kacey running. Y’all been having him putting in overtime since he came home.” Shit, much as they had him working you would’ve thought the nigga would’ve had a car by now and us a new home, but he didn’t. However, I wasn’t going to tell Quintez the way I felt. He didn’t need to know what went on inside my house.
“Man I don’t now, Jay always having that nigga doing stupid shit. Did he tell you he confronted me about you?” I heard amusement all throughout his voice. That shit was nowhere near funny, to me. The hell Kacey doing talking to Quintez when I’d already told him what the deal was.
“Confronted you? I already told him what the deal was and he agreed to move forward.” I didn’t want to tell him I had lied and said we only had sex that one time he was caught in my apartment, because to me it was irrelevant.
“Oh, he was just asking did we have sex more than that one time you told him about.” Quintez was laughing his ass off. I was going to curse Kacey ass out when he got home. Why would he even step to this man when he had forgiven me? How could we move forward when he still felt the need to question Quintez about some shit I told him? I couldn’t wait until he brought his ass home.
“What else was said?” Just as the words left my mouth, my damn car pulled up. Damn!
Chapter 21
Run Up, Get Done Up!
Quintez
I was still sitting on the hood of my car when this fool Kace jumped out of Tang car like a damn maniac. I laughed as I saw the trail of smoke tailing behind his ass. Nigga was beyond pissed that she was standing out here talking to me. It wasn’t like we was hugged up or some shit. I was sitting on the hood of my car with my feet rested on the front bumper and Tang was on the side with her upper body rested on the hood. Innocent conversation we were having. Shit, I was even surprised that I wasn’t trying to take her ass in that apartment and fuck the shit out of her, but I was trying to do right by Grisela and respect the fact that Tang wanted to be faithful to her nigga. So, I was doing as I said I was going to do, and that was let her be with this nigga, Kace.
“What the fuck you out here doing?” Kace screamed her. That shocked the hell out of me, because I took him to be a weak ass nigga that let Tang run over his ass. I knew her mouth was reckless, so I could only imagine how she talked to him.
“Kacey please don’t start. We’re just talking,” Tang said as she made her way to him, which wasn’t to far from when I was parked.
“Just talking, huh? I thought we already had a conversation about you staying away from him. Aye, Tez man.” By now this nigga was making his way over to me. I didn’t know what was running through his head, but I was damn sure ready to beat his ass if he got wrong. If this nigga run up, he was damn sure going to get done up. Plain and simple!
“Kacey will you chill the fuck out! It ain’t even that serious! We were just having a fucking conversation, damn. I already done told you the shit that happened between me and him is a thing in the past. Quintez know I have you, and I’m pretty sure he has someone, so can you stop with all the damn drama before you get me put out?! People are starting to stare.” Tang sounded like she was damn near in tears. I looked around, and she was right. Kace acting an ass had done gathered a small crowd. Mothafuckas was ready for some shit to jump off.
“Move Tan! I just wanna talk to him, man to man.” He gave her a slight push, but she didn’t budge.
I just stood here laughing at this damn lunatic. I know one thing for sure, he come over here with that bullshit I was breaking his fucking jaw, and wasn’t gon’ think twice about it. I didn’t even have my gun on me nor did I attempt to get it out the car. I had hands for days and I knew for a fact this dude didn’t wanna box with me.
“Talk to him about what? You done already confronted the nigga about the same shit I had admitted to doing. What, you didn’t believe the shit I had done told you so you went and asked him? Did you get all the information you wanted? You believe it now that Quintez said it?” Tang snapped.
I was still standing here laughing while that nigga was over there compressing his teeth. Shit was funny to me.
“Oh, so you riding hard for this mothafucka, ain’t you? You want to be with the nigga or something?” Tang didn’t even respond to his question, she just stormed in the house like a child. “Look Tez, I’m not trying to have any conflict between us, but please stay the fuck away from my girl when I’m not around.”
With both my hands in the air, I backed away from him; all the while, I had a smirk on my face. The nigga was being real disrespectful towards yo’ boy, but I just wrote it off because I knew he was feeling some type of way for me fucking his ol’ lady. That’s the only reason he was getting a free pass for stepping to me, not once but twice. I didn’t know how many times I was going to be able to let him slide with the shit, though. He was starting to really piss me off.
“You got it man!” With that being said, I got inside my car and watched as he marched up to their apartment building like a mad man, then walked inside.
I continued to sit out front for a good five minutes, not wanting to leave Tang alone with this delusional mothafucka. He was so angry ain’t telling what he was going to do, then Tang's reckless ass mouth wasn’t going to make shit better. Finally saying fuck it whatever happens, happens, I headed to Grisela’s crib.
Though I was chilling with her, she didn’t have my undivided attention. My mind was on Tang. I’d sent her a text asking was she okay when I first got here, but she didn’t reply. Yeah, I knew I was probably adding more fuel to the fire, but I had to make sure. I was starting to regret that I’d even stopped and said something to her in the first place.
To be honest with you, I didn’t even think she was going to take it as far as coming out there to have a conversation with me. I pretty much was just fucking with her when I stopped, but we ended up having a good time, just chilling and talking about bullshit. That was until her man pulled up showing his ass. If it wasn’t for Tang, I would’ve went dead in his shit. Nigga was rubbing me the wrong way.
Me: Aye, could you go by and check on Tang for me. Some shit went down earlier and I wanna make sure she’s okay.
I sent my brother a text and he responded right back.
Jay: Yeah. What happened?
Me: I’ll explain everything to you later. Just hit me back when you leave and let me know what’s up.
He text me back letting me know that he was on it, and I thanked him. I swear to God, Kace better not have laid a finger on her. I couldn’t even fucking think straight until I got the call from Jay that everything was
okay. I breathed a sigh of relief and gave my girl the attention she’d been striving for since I got here.
Chapter 22
Something Fishy!
Jay’vion
I was out with shawty I’d met a couple of months ago when Tez shot me that text asking to go check on Tan. We’d been having fun together, and she was definitely what I needed to get my mind off Asia. Don’t get me wrong, I still wanted my baby back, and all she had to do was come let me know she wanted to come back home and it was a done deal with lil mama. Rachel was cool and everything, but she ain’t Asia. No one could ever compete with my boo. She would always be the one to have my heart, and that’s why I was getting her back.
Now I didn’t know what went down between my brother and Kace, but this nigga was pissed to the extreme. He opened the door and I had to take a damn step back.
“Yo, you good bruh?” I asked him. He stared at me for a hot little minute before letting me know that he was. “Tan here?” The way this nigga was looking, I had to make sure lil sis was straight. I know I wasn’t the person she wanted to see right now, but she had no other choice.
“Yea, what’s up?” Kace asked. I looked at him like he was crazy.
“I wanna see her! Shit, go get her,” I ordered his dumb ass. He’d just pissed me off; talking about some what’s up when I asked was she here. The fuck? It wasn’t long before Tan came to the door. She looked pissed off as well, but not like her nigga. “Aye, what’s up sis? Let me holla at you right quick.” I walked off and she followed. That nigga Kace was standing in the doorway like he was her nigga. The fuck happened with them earlier? I hope he didn’t walk in on my brother and Tan fucking or nothing.
“What up?” she asked as she folded her arms underneath her breast.
“Nothing. Um, I don’t know what happened earlier, but my brother wanted me to come check on you.” I saw the sparkle in her eyes, but didn’t say anything.
“Tell him I’m good and thanks,” she gave a light smile and walked off. I told her to tell Kace to come here, and she nodded her head. Though he’d just pissed me off, I was about to take my nigga out for drinks to ease his mind. His ass needed something to calm him down.
Kace walked out and I told him to get in the truck and he didn’t object; he just got right on in. I introduced him to Rachel and headed to her house to drop her off. When we got there, I explained everything to her and she was fine with that. Me and Kace headed straight to the sports bar I met Rachel at, The Café.
“Man what’s up? What the hell happened earlier that got you pissed off?” Since I had him right here, I went on and asked him instead of waiting for Tez to tell me. This nigga was huffing and puffing like he was ready to kill some damn body.
“Dawg, I know Tez your brother and all, but he needs to stay the fuck away from Tan! Whatever they had when I was locked up, they might as well dead that shit now. I done already told them, and now I’m telling you to keep your brother away from my girl!” I continued to stare at this nigga while he talked, but then I suddenly nodded my head up and down, because I understood where he was coming from.
Tez was my lil brother, and we might even have our ups and down, but I wasn’t going to let nothing happened to him, so you know I was feeling some kind of way with the shit Kace had just uttered out his mouth. At the same time, like I said, I totally understood. Let’s be real, who would want a nigga that was smashing his ho while he was away to continue to come around her? I know I wouldn’t.
“Man, y’all need to chill out with that,” I said, then it hit me. How did he even know they were messing around? “Yo, how you know they were messing around?”
Kace took his shot of patron to the head before speaking. This was about his fifth shot, so I knew the nigga was about fucked up, plus his words were kind of slurry.
“Man, when I got out and went to the apartment that nigga was there. I knew something was up, shit, it was written in their faces. Still my ass didn’t say shit, because she said he was only there to check up on her because you had some shit to take care of.” He took another shot that the waitress had just brought over. “Then I went to yo’ crib and you told me that she hadn’t been doing shit,” he said.
I just nodded my head before saying, “Man I ain’t trying to get in that shit.”
He laughed while nodding his head.
“Yea, I know. That’s yo’ brother, so I didn’t expect you to put me up on game.” I’m glad his ass understood. Hell nah, I wasn’t about to let him know my brother was smashing his bitch. “Just tell your brother to stay the fuck away from my woman. I gotta go take a piss,” and with that, he stood and walked off.
Now I don’t know if Kace called himself trying to send empty threats by saying Tez better stay away from Tan, but he better chill with that shit before he find himself swimming with the fishes. He better take that shit up with Tan. She’s an attractive ass female, and any nigga in their right mind would be trying to tap that. I know if her and Asia wasn’t friends, then I would’ve been done got that.
“What’s up Jay?” I heard something say from behind. I turned around and it was Lo standing there. I haven’t seen his ass in a month or so.
“Damn nigga, where the fuck you been at?” I asked him while mugging the shit out of him at the same damn time. I’d been trying to reach him, but every time I called his phone, the nigga hasn’t been answering. I’d even went by his house, but no one came to the door.
“I had took the fam on a little vacation. So much has been going on with me and Shay, so I just wanted to get a way for a while. Know what I mean?” he explained.
We got money and shit missing, and this nigga decided to take a fucking vacation. That shit wasn’t a good look on his behalf. I just stared at this nigga, in disbelief; then he didn’t even attempt to call neither Tez nor me; dude just showed up at this damn bar.
“So what’s going on with you? You ready to get this shit jumping?’ His question caught me off guard, and it caused me to look at him sideways, because I honestly didn’t know what he was referring to. Then it hit me; he couldn’t have been talking about what I thought he was.
“What you mean?” I asked him, but before he could respond, Kace had walked back up.
“What’s up Breezy?” Lo spoke to Kace. The look that Kace shot Lo didn’t go unnoticed, but I didn’t say anything. I just watched as they dapped one another up. It was something fishy going on with these two, and I was damn sure going to find out what it was.
Chapter 23
The Café!
Lo
After laying low for over a month, I didn’t even know why I came over here and made my presence known to this nigga Jay. I’d just come back into town a few hours ago and brought my ass to this damn Café. Hell, to be honest, I thought Jay was here by his self. That’s mainly why I came over here to chop it up with him. I wanted to see where his head was at. When Kace walked over, I started to walk the fuck off.
I mean, I didn’t personally have nothing against him; in fact, I offered him a proposition that any nigga that didn’t have shit and was trying to make a come up would’ve jumped on. But this ol’ scary ass nigga backed out at the last minute. Talking ‘bout some, he ain’t trying to go back to prison; his ass just trying to stay out here so he could watch Tan’s ho ass. I wish he would get it through his thick ass skull–that damn girl ain’t stunt his weak ass, because if she was, then she wouldn’t have never let Tez run up in her in the first. That’s okay though, because I was going to eliminate that nigga Tez for the both of us so Kace can have his ho and I can have my bitch. Bree, that is!
“So what y’all niggas over here talking about?” I took it upon myself to pull up a chair and sit down with them. I needed to see what’s been going on since I was on that little fake ass vacation with my girl and badass kids.
“Shit! I brought Breezy here to blow off some steam. That’s about it,” Jay explained.
“What damn steam?” I questioned while eyeing Kace. His ass looked pi
ssed to the highest level. “What’s wrong with you?” I asked him. He just waved me off. I could tell he didn’t want to tell me, but just like I knew he would, Jay spilled the beans.
“He found out about Tan and Tez.”
I gave a surprised expression, but I already knew he knew everything, because I told the nigga myself. Yeah, I told when Tez ran up in that broad, how many times, and way days he was getting the little kitty cat. See, nobody knew it, but Kace and me started keeping in touch when he was locked up, and I was giving him the update on his chick. He’d asked Jay to, but after she started fucking around with Tez, I knew that nigga wasn’t about to tell Kace that shit. So a nigga like me took it upon myself to tell him.
Yeah, call me a hating ass nigga if you want to, but the thing about me is I don’t give a fuck. I’ll do what I have to in order to get what I want, and that is Bree and the money that nigga Tez was sitting on; Jay too if he didn’t jump on this wagon.
“Damn man, sorry to hear that. You know that girl loves you though,” I tried soothing him. Kace needed to man the fuck up and quit moping around over that bitch. I never have liked that stuck up heffa, anyways. Her or her damn side kick, Asia. Shay tried hanging with them a few times, but I shut that shit down quick. I didn’t need those hos rubbing off on her.
Kace just sat there staring at me, so I turned my attention to Jay before I ended up kicking this clown’s ass for saying the wrong shit.
“So, are you still gon’ do your own thing or you going to continue to play the background and shit?” I didn’t beat around the bush; I got straight to the point. He looked at me sideways for a minute, which I didn’t understand why. Hell, he was the one that brought the shit up that one-day about starting his own territory. I was just trying to see what was up with it, and was he still down.
