We know this could be it. It could be the one time where Lilly gets pregnant. It feels so good to let go and enjoy everything without the anxiety of the risk. We want it to happen. This is what we want. The beginning of the McCarthy-Love family.
I kiss her again.
“I want to wake up like this until we’re too old to move.” Not a problem, her wish is my desire.
“I don’t have a problem with that, sweetheart.”
“I love you.”
The sound of those three small words is a melody to my ears.
“I love you, more.”
Lilly rolls her eyes, not willing to start this debate. “What about round two, bear?”
Of course! Who would say no to her? Not a single man, trust me on that. According to her calendar, this is it. This could be the moment. I don’t mind if she’s pregnant by the time we get married. To me, we’re already married. She has my ring, she loves me, and it’s already a lot more than I ever thought I would have.
I have my fingers crossed.

I decided to write this book when I was offered to be part of a boxset, To Protect and Love. It was a challenge but I really enjoyed writing and getting to know the characters. I had a deadline and it wasn’t something I’m used to. I made it happen with long hours of writing but without the hard work and determination of my editor, Lisa Matthew, it wouldn’t have happened. She’s brilliant, precious and I’m very lucky to call her my friend. I owe you one.
