“I missed you so much,” I murmur as he kisses my cheek, my jaw, and runs his hands up my sides, just skimming my breasts.
“I’m here now.”
Like he always used to say.
He takes my mouth again, turning me to the wall so my back is pressed against the surface. I curl my arms around his neck, my heart nearly bursting out of my chest. He makes a noise of pleasure low in his throat, and then yanks away.
“No,” I start, trying to pull him to me again.
He gives a low laugh and captures my hands in his. “Hold on.”
I groan. It’s torture to keep my hands off of him, but I obey, waiting for him to say something else.
“I…I want this to be right. So, I need to know everything.”
“Of course. I’ll tell you. Or show you, like the dream.”
“You can do that?”
I smile. “Sure. I’m a witch, remember?”
“Yeah, I’m going to have to get used to that.”
“I hope you’ll take the time to do just that.”
He touches my cheek. “That’s my plan. When do we leave?”
“For Shadow Hill?”
“Yes.”
“In a few days.”
“Then you have a few days to catch me up,” he says.
Then kisses me again.
We arrive in Shadow Hill over the weekend, parking on Main Street and getting out to a warm, sunny day. For a place that gave me so much heartache, I feel oddly like I’m at home again.
“Is this okay?” Faye asks, shading her eyes against the sun.
I nod, scanning the street. “It’s weird, but…this is where I found myself.”
“I understand.”
Logan comes around the car and takes my hand. “Where to first?”
I grin and point across the street. “The library.”
Myra nods. “And then we should go see my bakery.”
Laughing, I squeeze Logan’s fingers. “Absolutely. But it’s going to need some work.”
“I can handle that.”
“Fortunately for you,” I say, sending her a sly smile, “I know a great handyman.”
“Sounds good.”
With Logan’s hand still linked with mine, we walk to the library.
“Let’s do this,” Logan says.
