SEX ME OUT
Kiri Leran sat on her bed in shock. She daren't
say or do anything. Poor Ryo had just fallen
into an exhausted slumber and she didn't want to
wake him. The poor dear needed his sleep. Yet she
knew she would get no sleep this night, despite
the comfort of her accommodations. Looking
around the room, she realized the furnishings
were expensive. At least they hadn't locked her in
a barren cell. Still, they'd locked her in. What did
they expect her to do, run--kill someone? No
matter how luxurious her surroundings, a prison
was still a prison.
She chewed her nails, wondering when the men
would come to claim her. Her belly clenched and
she also wondered if she'd be able to hold down
her last meal. How would she know her two men?
Was the Lioni male one of them? He'd already
made his claim at the temple. She squeezed her
eyes shut. She didn't know if she could stand it.
How could she welcome two men in her bed after
all she'd already suffered? How would she ever
keep her sanity?
Ryo stirred behind her, whimpering. He tossed
his head on the soft pillow and she turned to pull
him into her arms. Kissing his forehead, she
brushed the dirty blonde strands from his face and
looked down into the visage of innocence. How
could anyone not love such a face? What kind of
animal must a person be to kill such a child,
regardless of his parentage and the circumstances
of his birth?
The child was nothing like his parentage would
suggest. She worried about that sometimes. What
was it that made the Hienial men so hideous, so
evil? Was it the evil within them that twisted their
hearts and souls and made them such ugly
creatures? Ryo was the epitome of the perfect
child. Kind, handsome, full of love, he was perfect
in every way. How could someone so good turn to
something so bad, so evil?
She inhaled deeply, loving his scent. He
smelled of the soap and lotion she'd applied to his
dry skin after his bath. She stayed on the bed next
to him, holding him close and waited for the sun
to rise. The new day would come and she would
face her new life with courage. Nothing, no one
could be as bad as three Hienial males. She would
survive this and raise Ryo into the man who
would lead his people from evil.
She hoped.

Drace Vanier stared at the door in front of him.
Beyond the thin barrier was his mate. He knew he
couldn't go to her yet. She certainly wouldn't
welcome him after the abuse she'd suffered at the
hands of the Hienials. He would need more
patience than he'd ever needed before. The raging
of his body wouldn't make it easy though. Just
knowing she was aboard made him hard. Her
scent nearly drove him wild and he feared he
would lose control and try to force her like some
untamed beast. He took a deep breath and held it.
He would control his base urges, if for no other
reason than to make his mate comfortable. His
beast would just have to suffer, for the time being.
His first glimpse of her had nearly unmanned
him. He'd known the minute he laid eyes on her
that she was his. He ran his fingers through his
hair, frustrated that he'd have to share her. He'd
searched worlds for her, spent endless years
yearning for a mate of his own. What was it about
their galaxy that females were so few and
scattered? What horrible thing did they do to
deserve such hardship when it came to their
women?
He paced away from the room, slammed his fist
into the nearest bulkhead then sighed heavily.
How would he ever convince the woman to accept
him when he couldn't control his anger, his rage?
Closing his eyes, he thought of his best friend and
went to the nearest transport pad. Fury would
know what to do. If not, he would give him the
diversion he needed so badly. A few rounds of
Pal'alshok would knock some sense into him and
Fury was just the man to do it. He punched in the
coordinates for the Polaris and sent himself to see
his friend.
He shimmered into view on the pad on the
other ship and nodded to the guards there.
"Where is your master?"
"He is on the bridge, sir," the man said with a
bow. "He knew you would come. He awaits you
with Carrillian whiskey and game of Nos'tak."
"Just what I need to relax." It wasn't a physical
game, but working his mind would have a similar
effect. He left the transport chamber and strode
toward the nearest Trans-lift. "Deck four."
The doors of the lift opened just outside the
bridge and Fury stood waiting. "I knew you
would come. I felt your uncertainty in waves. It is
not an easy thing thinking that you must share
your woman with another."
"How would you know?" Drace snapped. "You
have no woman and when yo
u do find her, you
will most likely not have to share her with a
stranger."
"Do you think it would be easier to share her
with a friend?" Fury asked, his tone clearly stating
he knew it wouldn't be easy regardless. "Still, a
mate shared between two men is better than no
mate at all. Is it not?" He grinned. "Besides, just
think, the rest of your life would be filled with
such escapades as we have been known to have
with the Banchal females. They do love
threesomes. Too bad they are born immune to our
seed. I would have chosen one of them to mate
long ago, if it weren't for that little fact."
Drace smiled wistfully at the memories Fury
invoked. "If my triad mate were you, I don't think
I would feel such revulsion to it."
"Hmm... You think you would not." Fury led
him onto the bridge and they sat at the gaming
table. "Do you still wish the diversion, or would
you rather talk?" he asked, pouring two glasses of
the expensive sapphire drink.
Leaning forward to accept the glass, Drace
shrugged. "I don't think I could concentrate on the
game now. I would surely be too easy a conquest
for you."
"What is your excuse any other time, old
friend?" Fury chuckled then downed his drink in
one large gulp. "And don't tell me you let me win
either."
"Back to the woman," Drace said, swirling the
sapphire liquid in his glass. "I'm not sure I could
share her, Fury."
Fury sat forward in his chair, his elbows on his
knees and gave Drace an unreadable look. "Even
with me?"
Drace snorted. "I think you are the only male
that I could share her with."
"Then perhaps it is best that I am the third in
your triad."
Stunned, Drace sat back in his seat and stared at
Fury. "How can you know that when you haven't
met her?"
"You know I have special...abilities. You've
always known that we were linked the moment
our blood blended in that brawl on Truan Four.
The minute you saw her, I knew."
"Then why did you not say something sooner?"
Fury snorted. "And say what exactly? That I'm
glad you found your mate and would you hurry
up and introduce us so I can take her to mate as
well?"
"I don't know. Perhaps waiting for me to come
to you was the best thing you could have done."
He couldn't believe the relief he felt knowing that
Fury thought himself the third in his triad.
"How long has she been resting now?"
Drace glanced at his timekeeper. "About twelve
hours. I think perhaps she's waited long enough.
She knows I've made my claim. The waiting could
be harder on her than the knowing."
Fury arched an ebony brow. "It could. She
needs to know we don't intend to force ourselves
on her, that we're willing to give her the time she
needs to come to trust us. The last thing she will
want is two males falling on her in a mating rut
after all she's been through."
"You're right. And we should all be on the
same ship. She needs to get to know us both."
They stood at the same time, pushing their
chairs back an almost identical distance.
"We cannot allow this to come between us. We
must both accept her and accept each other. I don't
know about you, Drace, but I want this to work
between us. I look forward to a lifetime of loving
the same woman as we have done countless times
throughout the years."
"Perhaps our earlier escapades were in
preparation for this very thing." Drace turned
toward the door. "Come, let us find our mate and
introduce ourselves."

Fury instructed his people to put away the gaming
table and whiskey then followed Drace from the
bridge. They entered the transport chamber and
stepped up onto the pad. Turning, they looked at
each other then grabbed each other's forearms in a
warrior's embrace.
"I am honored to be your beta, old friend."
Fury bowed his head in deference to Drace's
superior rank. "I would have followed you in
death. Now it is time to follow you in life."
Drace swallowed visibly and Fury knew he had
not made a mistake. His brother could lead their
people without him. Damek was the eldest and
heir. With his stable of councilors, he didn't need
Fury as beta. He turned toward the nearest
crewmember. "Leave me here with Drace. Take
the ship back to my brother and his council. Tell
him..." He paused, not wanting to hurt his
brother. "...Tell him that I have finally found my
place and wish him well."
"Yes, sir," the crewman said with a salute. "As
you will it."
They shimmered into being on board Drace's
ship, the Revenge, and immediately strode toward
the woman's cabin.
The distinct sound of battle reached them
followed by a child's fearful cry.
"I won't let you take him!"
They rounded the last corner on a run. Fury
grinned, amazed at his mate as he watched her
brandish the legs of a chair at the crew members in
front of her, their arms raised to deflect the
woman's blows. Pride rushed through him when
he saw that she was not easily intimidated. She
fought for her cub with bravery, like any good
lioness or mama bear.
One of the men turned and ran to Drace when
he saw them. "We were only going to take the boy
to the infirmary. He's so small, the doctor wanted
to see him, to see if he has a growth deficiency."
"Ryo goes nowhere without me!" she snarled,
brandishing her weapons at anyone brave enough
to even come close to her.
Fury drew himself up, pushed past the men
trying to enter the room and stood in front of her
door, his arms crossed over his chest. "Leave them
be. If she agrees, Drace and I will escort them to
the infirmary."
The men turned to Drace, and at his nod,
turned and walked away. They left Drace and
Fury to handle the little spitfire who was their
mate. Fury grinned and turned to face the open
door. Bowing, he introduced himself. "Hello,
mate. I am Fury."
"And I'm furious. We should make a lovely
pair," she shot back, not missing a beat. "Now, if
you don't mind, I'd appreciate it if you would
close the door."
Drace followed him into the room, allowing the
door to slide closed behind them.
"I meant with you both on the other side."
She gathered the boy into her arms then placed
him behind her. She began to tremble as they both
merely stood watching her. Tears began to stream
down her face as she stood facing them, her back
straight. The legs of the chair she'd broken rested
on the bed
beside her, ready for her to make a
hurried grab at them. Fury was determined to see
she would never think to do so.
"We are your mates. We thought to give you
the opportunity to get to know us," Drace said as
he stepped closer. "We do not wish to frighten
you or bully you in any way."
"Ha! Is that why you sent your men here to
me?" She clearly didn't believe him.
"We have no reason to lie to you, mate," Fury
added, moving to stand beside Drace. They both
stood and stared at her. Fury couldn't believe how
lucky they were to have such a beautiful mate. She
would complement them both. Her children
would be as stunning as she, and with luck, as
courageously ferocious.
Fiery red hair cascaded down her back in long
curls. Green eyes flashed up at them, accentuating
her high cheekbones and full red lips. Everything
about her stirred his blood, making his gut tighten
in reaction. There was both a delicacy and strength
in her features. Even her nose was charming. Short
and straight, it was a perfect fit for her delicate
face. Her short stature did nothing to make her
seem less formidable. Her fierce love of the boy
and her willingness to die for him made her a
force to be reckoned with.
Drace slowly approached them and knelt in
front of the child. "I am Drace Vanier," he said
holding out his hand. "I wish to be husband to
your mother, would you allow that?"
Fury joined him on the floor, making himself as
small as he could so as not to frighten the toddler.
"And I am called Fury." He chuckled when the
boy backed up. "It is my name, boy. Not my
disposition. What is your name?" he asked, giving
him the smile he usually reserved for his mother,
younger brothers and nephew. "Are you going to
tell me your name? It isn't fair, you know. You
now know my name and I still know nothing of
you."
The boy peeked out from behind his mother's
legs. "I am called Ryo." He looked up at his
mother, presumably for encouragement. "Mama
says it means strong of heart."
"That is a good name for one such as you. A
warrior must always temper strength with
compassion."
"That's what Mama says." He nodded
