The Boss's Temptation: An Age Gap Mafia Romance Page 12

by Jagger Cole

I glance around desperately. I have to warn them somehow. Micheal has to know that he’s walking into a trap. My eyes scan the room. A man a few yards away from me puffs on his cigarette. His eyes are on the door his gun is pointing at. He takes one more drag and then flicks the cigarette over his shoulder. It sits there smoldering on the floor.

My eyes focus on it. Then I keep scanning the room. I’m looking for something—anything—that might help. And then, I find it. The can of some kind of chemical is about ten feet from me, between me and the smoking man. I have no idea what’s inside. But I can definitely see the warning label with the fire symbol on the side of it.

I brace myself. I rock the chair to the side, and it creaks. I do it again. Two of the legs rise up and clap back down. One of the men glances at me.

“Quiet!” he hisses. But when he turns back, I do it again. The chair rocks over, then back down. I do it a third time. This time, I gasp when the whole chair tips over. I hit the floor hard. I wince. Stars swim across my vision. But when I glance down, I smile. The can of chemicals is less than a foot from my feet. And the fall has loosened the ropes on my ankles a little.

“What the fuck do you think you’re doing, devochka,” Pavel hisses. He walks over and stands over me. “Are you trying to escape?” He chuckles. A few of his men laugh quietly. “Well, you won’t. Believe me. You’re going to watch me kill your fucking husband. And then,” he sneers. “I’ll be taking you for myself.”

“I’m not trying to escape, you creep,” I mutter. But all he hears is muffled hisses through the gag.

“What is it , little devochka?” He smiles lecherously. “Are you just getting used to being on your back for me?”

I smile thinly at him. I wiggle my ankle and the rope slips looser. “No, Pavel.” I think to myself. “I’m doing this.” I kick my foot out hard. My heel slams into the big gallon can of chemicals. It tips, and the clear liquid gushes out across the floor. The smell makes my eyes water instantly. But Pavel’s eyes widen. He watches the liquid rush across the floor towards the smoldering cigarette. He turns to me in horror. “You little cunt—”

  I was expecting a fire. I wasn’t expecting a bomb exploding.

The blast knocks me sideways, and I scream. My ears are ringing. I blink and open my eyes, and I gasp. The entire warehouse is engulfed in flames. I mean holy crap, what was in that can? Napalm? Men are yelling and running all over the place. The flames creep up the support beams and lick the warehouse ceiling.

My face feels hot from the blast. I look down and gasp. My clothes and my hair or singed, too. I hear a scream of pain. I look up and blanche in horror. Pavel looks awful. He’s rolling on the ground trying to pat out the flames on his clothes. Half of his face looks pretty badly burned.

“You bitch!” he screams. “You little bitch!” He yanks a gun out of his belt. He staggers to his feet. But suddenly, the warehouse door smashes in. There are flames and smoke everywhere. But I’d know the shape that comes through the door first anywhere.

I’ve been dreaming about him for ten years, after all.

Gunfire erupts through the warehouse. Men yell and scream in pain. My legs are free, but my arms are still tied to the chair. I flinch and curl into a ball as best I can. The heat of the fire is overwhelming. Smoke fills my lungs. And suddenly, I’m having flashbacks.

I gasp in fear. Suddenly, it’s ten years go. I’m hiding from the gunfire while flames flicker over the walls. Panic grips me. My heart is racing too fast. The cry lodges in my throat.

“You were mine!” I gasp and look up. I tremble. Pavel is standing above me with a gun pointed at me. His face is twisted with rage and burned by fire. “You were mine, you little whore! I was the one who should have taken you! I’m the one who should have had you as my little toy!”

He jabs the gun at me, and I pale.

“If I can’t have you, little devochka,” he hisses. “No one can.”

The gun fires, and I scream. But I feel nothing. Pavel though suddenly goes limp. The gun falls from his fingers, and he falls to the floor. Behind him, a hulking figure clouded in smoke suddenly steps forward. I sob in happiness.

  “I’ve got you.”

Micheal rushes into me. His huge arms circle me tightly, and I cry into his chest.

“I’ve got you, baby,” he whispers. His strong hands grip the ropes. He snarls, and they snap. There’s an explosion in the background, but he doesn’t even flinch. He pulls me into his arms and stands. I look around at the utter chaos. But I realize most of the men still left standing are Scaliamis. A few more shots ring out. Then, they’re the only ones still standing.

Micheal just starts moving. “Let’s get out of here,” he groans into my ear. He yells at his men, and they all start to run out of the burning warehouse. I see my uncle and a handful of his soldiers by the door. He nods at me and runs out along with Micheal’s men.

Micheal dashes through the doorway with me in his arms. He bolts across the parking lot with the rest of his people. Suddenly, we hear a creaking and smashing sound. I gasp and look back, just as the warehouse crumbles in on itself. Flames engulf the whole structure, illumining all of us in flickering orange light.

I feel wetness against me. I gasp and look down to see blood. But it’s not mine.

  “Micheal!”

“I’m fine, baby,” he murmurs. He doesn’t set me down. He keeps his arms tight around me.

  “You’re bleeding!”

  He grins. “Doesn’t matter.”

  “You… you found me?”

He nods at my uncle. “He showed us, actually.”

  “Really?”

He shrugs. “People change.” I frown, and he smiles. “Or they just get mad enough to forget allegiances.”

I roll my eyes. “That sounds more like my uncle.” I look into Micheal’s eyes. My arms slide around his neck. “You came for me.”

“I’ll always come for you,” he growls tightly. “Always.”

“Maybe I should stop getting myself into trouble in burning buildings.”

He roars with laugher. I smile when he looks deep into my eyes. He leans close and kisses me softly. “Nothing would keep me from coming to you, ever,” he whispers. “Not even fire.”

His hand moves up to my neck. He wraps his fingers around my locket. I slide my hand over his, our fingers entwining. I look into his eyes, and he looks right into my soul.

“I love you, Katrina,” he groans.

“I’ve loved you for ten years,” I whisper back. “Since before I even knew you.”

“Look, this whole thing…” he frowns. “I know it was an arrangement. A business thing.”

  “Micheal…”

“No, let me say this,” he growls. He sets me down and takes my hands. “Katrina…”

He suddenly drops to his knees in front of me. There are sirens in the background. The building next to us is a fiery collapsed Hell. But all I see is him. He looks up at me with those perfect, smoldering eyes.

“Will you marry me, Katrina?” He whispers. “Again. But for real this time? For love?”

I sob and collapse into him. His arms hold me so tight, and I kiss his mouth as hard as I can. “Yes,” I gasp against his lips. “Yes.”

Eventually, one of his men has to stop us. We jump into the cars and race away before the sirens get there. Sitting next to Micheal in the backseat, I turn I look out the back window of the SUV. Behind us, the fire engulfs the building, and Pavel. And it feels like something is lifting from my shoulders. The fire is burning away my past.

I squeeze Micheal’s hand and lean against his shoulder. The past that always hurt me is ash. But the future is bright, with the man literally of my dreams.

  “I love you,” I whisper.

“I love you too,” he groans. He turns my head. His lips find mine. And the future looks great.

  Epilogue

  Micheal

She pants into my ear. Her breathing is haggard and deep. Her fingernails d
ig into my skin. My hands slide over the small of her back. I grip her ass tight, urging her on. I love the way this woman rides me. I love how her tight little pussy bounces on my cock and swallows every inch.

Her nipples graze against my chest muscles. My hands tighten on her. My teeth drag over her neck. I want her to come. I need her to, actually. We’re on a time crunch, unfortunately. We’re in my office, with her riding me in my desk chair. But I’m having a sit down with Don Salvestro in less than ten minutes.

It might not be the best idea to be balls-deep in my wife when he walks in.

I snarl and grip her tight ass in my hands. I bounce her, gripping her and slide her up and down hard and deep. Katrina moans and clenches me tighter. Her body trembles against mine.

“Micheal!” She gasps. “Oh my God, I’m… you’re going to make me…”

“Come, baby,” I hiss. I’m right there myself. “Come for me. Come for me so good, baby.”

I drive my cock up into her. She squeals in pleasure. Her nails dig into my shoulders. Her pussy clenches tight around me. And suddenly, she’s coming. I kiss her hard to muffle her cries of pleasure. Then I roar into her mouth as I follow her.

My cock throbs and my balls draw tight. My hot cum floods into her, spilling deep in her pussy. She’s shaking, but I hold her tight. Let the lingering tingles of our climaxes fizzle through us.

“Shit,” she groans. “Shit, your meeting!”

  I chuckle. “We’ve got time…”

  “Micheal, it’s in one minute!”

Shit. Katrina giggles as she quickly slides off of me. She turns and grabs her panties and pulls them up her legs. I groan to myself when I see the dark wet mark on the front of them. I grin. I like the idea of my cum dripping out of her little cunt, filling her panties. She sees where I’m looking and bites her lip.

  “Naughty,” she whispers.

“Wait until this meeting is over, and I’ll show you how naughty I can be,” I growl.

  “You promise?”

  “I—”

“Sir?” I hear a voice at the door and a knock.

“Shit,” I hiss. Katrina smooths her skirt down and buttons up her blouse. I do the same to my dress shirt and stuff my cock into my slacks.

“How do I look?” she breathes.

Gorgeous is the answer. Like she always does. But I grin. “Sort of like you just got fucked.”

She blushes deeply and groans. “Do you think he’ll know?”

I shrug. “You’re my wife,” I grin. I pull her close and kiss her deeply. “Who cares?”

I’ve barely pulled away from her when my office door opens. Don Salvestro walks in, looking every inch the Godfather character. He smirks when he sees us embracing. His eyes drop to my desk—a mess with papers across it and on the floor from when I had Katrina bent over it ten minutes ago. That was after against the bookshelf and before in the chair.

“I hope I am not… interrupting,” Sal says slyly.

“Not at all, Don Salvestro,” I say with a smile. “Just talking with my wife.”

He chuckles. “Si, si, talking.” He laughs louder. “To be young again so I could do more ‘just talking,’” he grins. Katrina blushes deeply next to me. I just smile.

“Well, I was just leaving,” Katrina manages to mumble out. She smiles at Salvestro. “Nice to see you again, Don—”

“Please,” he interrupts. “Stay. This concerns you too.”

I frown. “What’s this about, Sal?”

He smiles. “It is all good, Micheal. Per fevore, siediti. Sit, please.”

I glance at Katrina. But then I sit into my office chair. Katrina starts to walk around the desk to the other guest chair. But Salvestro holds up a hand, stopping her. “Oh, please. Just sit in his lap. I don’t care.”

She blushes. But she does as he asks. I’m not complaining at all.

“I need to confess something,” Salvestro sighs. He taps his fingers together. He looks at both of us. “I pushed for your marriage. Not just because I thought it would settle this matter with the Korolyov family.”

He sighs and sits back in his chair. “And I lied to you, Micheal. Bernardo? Bored of his wife?” He chuckles. “My cousin is a not very handsome eight-four-year-old man sharing a bed with a twenty-five-year-old lingerie model.” His laughter turns wheezing. “Bored? The man praises God every hour for his good fortune.”

I roll my eyes. But then I frown. “Why, then?”

  He smiles. “Per amore.”

I chuckle. “I didn’t take you for a romantic, Don Salvestro.”

“I’m not,” he sighs. “Micheal, the reason is because you were under investigation.”

  I freeze. “Excuse me?”

“I did not know until right before our meeting with Anton. I have a, how do you say, a friend working for the FBI. He intimated that your house and phones were being monitored. Not well, it would seem. Which is why they were trying to use Pavel to put more devices into the house.”

I stare at him. “Hold on, what?” I grip the desk tightly. “Am I being investigated?”

“Were. Only briefly. But that is why I pushed so hard for the marriage, Micheal. I apologize for bullying you.” He turns his eyes to Katrina. “Signora, my apologies to you as well.”

“There is no apology needed,” Katrina says softly. She takes my hand in hers. Salvestro grins.

“I am happy for you both, truly.”

Katrina frowns. “Wait, so why push the marriage?”

“Federal Common Law,” I growl. I shake my head and smile. “That’s why.”

“Si,” Salvestro smiles. “Si, Micheal. And I would have told you, but I did not know which phones or which walls had ears.”

  “Common Law?”

I turn and smile at Katrina. “If we’re married, they couldn’t compel either of us to testify against the other. It also creates a lot of problems for what they can even use that they recorded. If they’re listening and things get too personal or intimate, or if we’re talking about us and not my business, they need to hang up.” I turn to Salvestro and smile. “That was smart, Don Salvestro.”

“Grazie, Micheal.” He smiles. He looks at both of us. “And I would say prego, you’re welcome, to both of you.” He grins wider. “I should match-make more often, no?”

Katrina giggles. “If I had any friends, I would recommend your services, Don Salvestro.”

He chuckles. Christ, I’ve barely seen the man crack a smile in decades. But Katrina’s got him giggling away like a schoolboy.

“Bene, signora!” He laughs. “Very good, si.” He sighs. “But now, I must go. I have a plane back to Sicily, where I can finally find some good wine to drink.” He smirks at me. “Your cellar aside, that is.”

He stands, but I frown when Katrina and I stand with him. “Am I still being investigated?”

He shakes his head and laughs. “It wasn’t even you, Micheal. They thought one of your gardeners had connections to a cartel in Mexico.”

  I frown. “Does he?”

“No,” Salvestro shrugs and smiles. “It is the FBI, what can you say? My friend says all they got was some recording from your garden cottage. It showed nothing of interest to their investigation.”

Katrina glances at me. Her face reddens. I grin and wonder exactly what the goddamn FBI may have heard in that cottage…

We walk out with Don Salvestro to his waiting car. I slide my arm around my wife, and we both wave as he drives off. I take a deep breath. I turn and smile at the woman of my dreams.

  “So, should we stay married?”

Katrina sighs and frowns. “Gee, I’m not sure now. If the investigation is over, maybe we could just call the whole thing off?”

  “Sounds right.”

“Yeah, I mean I can’t think of any other reason for us to be married, can you?”

I grin. “Would the fact that I’m in love with you count?”

She smiles widely. Her eyes shimmer. “Yes, it would,” she whispers.
r />   “How about the fact that I want to drag you back inside, rip your clothes off, and keep going with what we were doing before? Would that count?”

Katrina’s face reddens. But I see the lusty hunger in her eyes. She chews on her lip and nods slowly. “Yes, it would,” she purrs. “Sir.”

I groan. “Oh, now you’re in trouble.”

She giggles when I scoop her up. I toss her over my shoulder and march inside. Apparently, the FBI isn’t listening anymore. But if they are, they’re about to get a goddamn earful.
