Molly nuzzled the baby’s silky cheek. She felt as if she were kissing an angel. “Oh, she’s delicious.”

“She’s perfect,” Matt declared. “She’s simply a miracle.”

“But we still don’t have a name for her. That doesn’t seem right.”

“We have a lot of names, Molly,” he reminded her as he sat on the edge of the bed. “We just need to pick one we can agree on.”

“I have another one. It just came to me. What do you think of…Betty?”

Matt didn’t answer. He gazed down at the baby and gently touched the tiny fist curled around the edge of Molly’s gown. “I sort of like it. It’s a little old-fashioned sounding.…”

  “Classic,” Molly corrected.

“But I don’t mind that either.” He looked into Molly’s eyes. “If you want to call her Betty, then it’s all right with me.”

“Thank you, Matt. It means a lot to me.”

He leaned over and kissed her. “This has to be one of the happiest days of my life, Molly. Thank you for giving me such a beautiful child. I’ll always cherish and protect her. I’ll always cherish and protect you,” he added. “But you already know that.”

She nodded, her vision blurring as tears filled her eyes. How had she ever doubted him? That dark hour seemed years past.

“I love you, Matt. I love our life together. I love our children and I adore our new baby.” She sighed. “I know I can be difficult at times…but you’re good to put up with me.”

He laughed softly. “You make my life interesting. From the first minute I met you. I would be bored to death if it was any different.”

“Not a chance. I think you’re stuck with us now,” she teased him.
