Tempted (Tempted #1) Page 9

by Heather Doltrice

“So, do you want me to be your girl again?” I asked him.

  “You always were, pumpkin.”

  “I love you, Roman.”

“I love you more.” He told me as he pulled me on his lap.

He leaned in close to me and kissed me. I missed this so much. His tongue devoured mine and I gave into him fully.

“We can’t take you two anywhere!” West yelled.

I didn’t want to get off of his lap but our food had just arrived. He couldn’t eat with me on his lap.

Maddie and West came back to our booth.

“I’m staying with Maddie now and her parents are gone. Do you want to spend the night? We have a lot of making up to do.”

“I think that could be arranged.”

“Hey, Angel. Do you want me to spend the night, too?”

“Yeah, you can spend the night.”

  “For real?”

  “On the couch.”

  “We’ll see about that.”

We ate and laughed. It felt good. These people were my family.

“Pumpkin, you want to ride with me to Maddie’s house?” Roman asked me as we walked out of the diner.

“Yeah, I would love that. Maddie, is that okay?”

“Yeah, but if I kill him . it’s on you.” She told me.

Roman opened the door of his mustang and I climbed inside. This car brought back so many memories. He put the car in drive and reached for my hand. And we drove to Maddie’s house just like that.

Pulling up, I noticed that Maddie’s jeep was already here. How fast did she drive?

Walking up to the front porch, we pushed the door open. West had Maddie pushed up against a wall, kissing her? I grabbed my phone to call the police but then I noticed she wasn’t fighting him off. She was actually really into it. Like really into it.

“Guys? Hello?” Roman said as he stifled a laugh.

They turned around and saw us. West laughed and Maddie buried her head in his shoulder.

“Were gonna leave you guys to it. Come on, Pumpkin. Let’s head upstairs.” He said with a devilish grin.

I didn’t say anything; I just grabbed his arm and pulled him upstairs with me. I couldn’t wait any longer. I had to feel him inside of me.

We walked in the guest room. I had fantasied about Roman in the shower so I decided to ask him did he want to try it.

“Can we try something?” I asked him, slipping my hands under his shirt and rubbing his washboard abs.

“We can do anything you want as long as it involves you moaning my name.” he said seductively in my ear.

  “Will you shower with me?”

He didn’t answer me instead he picked me up, bridal style, and carried me into the bathroom. I watched as he stripped off his clothes. Roman done sexy like it was his job. Standing naked in front of me, I took in every inch of him.

I bit my lip and slipped out of my clothes. He turned the water on and I could tell it was steaming. But I had a feeling things were about to get a lot hotter. He stepped into the shower and I followed after.

“Come here.” He ordered me and I listened.

He put his hands on the back of my thighs and pulled me up. Moving me up and down until he had slid into completely. Nothing in the world felt like this.

“Please don’t go easy. Roman, give it to me rough.”

He slid all the way out and then rammed back into me again and again.

“Like this? Is this how you like it?”

“Yes! Please don’t stop. Keep going.”

We were soaking wet. Me, in more ways then one. He opened the shower door and led me into the bedroom. Pulling out of me, he laid down on the bed.

“I want you to get on top.” He told me as he stroked himself.

Not wasting any time,I quickly climbed on top of him. I dug my nails into his shoulders as I slid down until I could every inch of him in me.

“Show me what you got, pumpkin.”

I smiled at him at him and started to bounce up and down. All I could hear was the sounds of Roman moaning and the sound of my hot, wet flesh hitting his.

“You are so hot.” Roman told me breathlessly.

I arched my back and moaned. Roman’s hands reached up and grabbed my breast. As he squeezed them and I just enhanced my pleasure. I saw the hot liquid squirting from me.

“I’m not stopping until you finish.” I told him completely out of breath.

Reaching down, I wiped the beads of sweat from his head. I could feel him finish inside of me and heard him growl. I rolled off of him and onto the bed.

“You are the best kind of work out.” He told me.

“You’re not too bad yourself.” I told him, laughing.

“Let’s take an actual shower this time. I’ll clean you up.”

  Chapter 20

After we showered, we had to shower again. Finally making it down stairs, we saw West and Maddie watching a movie on the couch. She was laying with her feet in his lap. We cuddled up on the chair next to them.

“Will someone please call and order some food from somewhere?” West complained.

“You do it.” Maddie said as she kicked his leg.

  “I’m ordering Chinese.” He said.

“Sounds good to me, we really worked up an appetite.” I said winking at Roman.

  “You bet we did.”

“Over share.” Maddie said pretending to gag.

I heard a phone ringing upstairs.

  “Roman, is that your phone?”

He checked his pockets looking for it.

“I think so, I’ll up and get it.”

Before he could make it up stairs, West’s phone started to ring.

“It’s Ethan’s phone.” West told Roman.

  “Answer it.” Roman told him.

“Hello?” West said into the phone as he played with sandy brown hair.

“Put it on speaker.” Roman said with a worried look on his face.

“Yo, E. You’re on speaker.” West told him.

“Who’s with you?” Ethan asked and I could tell by the way he was talking something was up.

I hoped no one was hurt. Roman couldn’t take any more stress.

“Roman, Em, and Maddie. What’s up?”

“I borrowed some money from Luca Davis. They came to diner today and said I had to pay them back by midnight.”

“Why would you do that?” Roman screamed, running his hands through his hair.

“The shop was going to closed down. Dad needed the money. You were gone after Em and I had to get it for him.”

  “How much?” West asked.

  “Two thousand.”

“I’ll get it.” Roman told him.

“Where are you guys?” Ethan asked.

“Maddie’s. Why don’t you come over?” West told him.

“I’ll be there in five.” He said as he hung up the phone.

“How are you going to get the money?’ I asked him.

Walking over to him, I leaned against his chest.

“The only thing I can do, race and win.” He told as rubbed my head and kissed my forehead.

“What? No, please! There has to be another way. West? Tell him” I begged.

I wish I could get him the money. There should be something I could do to help. If the police get wind of a race, especially one with Roman Charles, they would be there in a heartbeat.

“Sorry, Em. It’s the only way.” West told me as he placed his hands on Maddie’s shoulders.

“He’s right, pumpkin. But I don’t want you there. It’s too dangerous. You have to wait here on me.”

“No, I’m going with you. I’m your good luck charm, remember?” I asked him telling him the words he told me two years ago.

“Okay but you have to stay by me at all times.”

  “That won’t be a problem.”

We stood there looking at each other. It was like in that moment nothing nobody else was in the room but West’s big mouth ruined that.

“Angel, you are definitely not going. That’s that. I have spoken. Everybody in town knows Luca has the hots for you. And I don’t like it. Not one bit.” West said as folded his arms.

Maddie dated him for like five minutes a couple years ago. Apparently he still had a thing for her.

He looked like an overgrown toddler.

“I’m going.” Maddie told him as she walked to sit on the couch. He glared at her.

As I watched Roman pace back and forth in front of the door, someone knocked.

Roman answered the door and Ethan came running in.

“Their following me. They know I’m here.”

“Great! That’s just great! That means one of us has to be here at all times with the girls.”

Luca Davis was infamous in Lakeveiw. Him and his friends were the closest thing to gang we had in town. They vandalized things and ruined lives. Basically, the worst people for Ethan to get mixed up with. And just to add to all of his good quality’s, he’s Preston’s cousin.

  “I’m sorry, Roman. I can’t do anything right. I’m a screw up.”

“No, you’re not. I’m going to take care of it.”

“We still have a few hours till the race. How about we relax and order that food?” I asked trying calm everyone.

“Yeah, food sounds good.” Roman said as he pulled me on his lap.

“I’ll call.” West said and walked out of the room to make the order.

“Pumpkin, I’m so sorry for all the drama. This is why I was trying to stay away from you. And the fact that I want to be able to provide the kind of life you’re used to. You deserve everything in this world.”

“But guess what? I only want you.” I told him and softly kissed his lips.

It was the truth, I was happy with him. And I would be happy with any life he could give me. With a love like ours, material things didn’t matter. I had to stay strong for him but inside I was a pile of nerves about tonight. So many things could go wrong and for us they usually did.

“Food should be here in a few.” West said as he entered the room.

My phone started vibrating in my pocket, it was my mother. I didn’t really feel like talking to her so I ignored her. She could wait, my first priority right now was my boyfriend.

We sat in complete silence for what seemed like forever. Finally, someone knocked on the door. Maddie got up to answer it. Paying the delivery boy, she closed the door with her foot.

“I’ll set the table.” She said as she walked into the kitchen.

I looked at Roman’s face, taking in his features. The worry was evident on his face. He had to take care of his family, I knew that. But I just wished he could be happy for all of ten minutes. If anyone deserved happiness, it was him.

“I love you.” I whispered in his ear.

He looked at me and attempted a smile.

“I love you, more.” He whispered back.

“Come eat. We will have to leave in just a few.” Maddie called from the kitchen.

We all got up and walked to take our places at the table.

We ate and attempted to make small talk but there was no use. Everyone’s nerves were running wild. I picked at my food as I watch Roman keep checking the time. I wish I would had my car sent home, I would have sold it to get him the money.

I didn’t want him to race but I knew he had no choice in the matter. His little brother needed him.

“We should probably head to the field.” Roman said as he got up from his chair.

He was out the door before anyone had a chance to say anything else.

“I better go after him. Does anyone want to ride with us?” I asked them.

I was secretly hoping they said no. I needed to calm him down.

“No, I think the three of will go together. We’ll meet you guys there.” Maddie told me.

I think she senced that I wanted to be alone with him.

“Thank you.” I whispered to her.

Running out the door, I saw Roman already sitting inside his car. I walked toward the car and climbed inside. He was rubbing his hands on his jeans.

  “Are you okay?”

“No, Emma. I’m not okay.” He said, not even making eye contact with me.

“Do you want to talk about it?” I asked

“No.” he replied in a clipped tone.

He started the car and ripped out of Maddie’s driveway. He was going so fast. It felt like he was already racing. I didn’t try to talk to him again. Staring out the window, I said a silent prayer. A prayer for Roman’s family and prayer for us. I had a feeling we were going to need all the prayers we could get.

  Chapter 21

The field was already packed. Luca Davis was leaning against his car, his eye locked on Roman. He always did have a intense hatred for Roman. But I had no clue why.

He smirked as Roman got out of the car. Opening the door, I ran and grabbed Roman’s hand. I made him a promise today to not leave his side. And now looking at Luca’s face and seeing the evil in his eyes, I knew why he made me promise that.

“Roman, it’s good to see you.” Luca said as he pulled the cigarette from his mouth.

“Luca.” Roman said, with a nod.

“Where is your brother? It’s his debt.”

“He’s on his way but you won’t be racing him. You’ll be racing me. It’s my debt tonight.

Luca laughed and shook his head. Tossing his cigarette on the ground, he covered it with his foot. I studied him, I had seen him before but not this close. His family lived on the same street as my parents. They were one of the richest family in town. He was a few years older than us so we I didn’t really know that well. His blonde hair was combed over to the side and he had grey eyes. The kind that held secrets.

It was like he could hear my thoughts because he turned his gaze my way. Letting his eyes roam my body, he looked back at Roman.

“Where’s your friends? Or did you just bring the preacher’s daughter to cheer you on?””

“They’re on the way. And don’t talk about her. She has nothing to do with this.”

  “Yes, sir.” Luca mocked him.

West’s car pulled in at that moment. They must have driven Maddie’s jeep to get his car instead. The three of them got out of the car and walked up to Roman mustang.

“West and Ethan, it’s good to you again.” Luca told told them.

“Wish I could say the same.” West told him.

Luca ignored West and looked at Maddie.

“Maddie, I think you should ride with me. And Emma you can join us if you want. Don’t worry I won’t tell your daddy.” He said he shot me wink.

“Leave them alone.” Roman growled through his bared teeth.

I looked over at Maddie but I couldn’t really see her face. West had moved her behind him.

“Are you going to race or what? Quit stalling.” Ethan said as he stepped closer to Luca.

  “He speaks. Let’s go, Roman.”

Roman let me to his car and put me in the passenger side. Putting my seatbelt on, I closed eyes to pray. Please God, let him win! I heard his driver’s door open and close.

“Can I have a good luck kiss?” Roman asked me.

“Of course. Come here.” I told him.

I felt his rough hands caress my face as I leaned in closer to him. I opened my mouth, inviting his tounge inside. My hands wrapped around his biceps as the kiss got more intense. The windows were staring to fog up and I was already soaking wet. I heard horns blowing. The race was about to start.

I slowly pulled away and let my hand cup him over his jeans. He sucked in a breath.

“I swear if this wasn’t so important, I would take you in this car.”

“No, you wouldn’t. What about all they people?” I asked him.

“They could watch.” He said he pushed his foot down on the gas.

I watched as he swerved in and out of the lanes. He could work the stick shift like nobody’s business. Luca was in the lead but Roman was far
behind. He drove with passion, like a winner. He turned his wheel sharp and it was like he almost drifted in front of the other car.

Luca was on our tails. He thought he had this in the bag but he didn’t know how wrong he was. Every time he tried to get in front of us, Roman blocked him. The girls waving the checkered was in sight. I could almost taste this win. It was neck and neck but Roman passed he finish line first.

“You did it! Roman, you won!” I shrieked, smiling from ear to ear.

“Did you ever really doubt me?” he asked.

He parked at the nearest vacant spot and I . Opening the door, I got out and ran to him. He smiled down at me and I leaned on my tip toes to quickly peck his lips.

Ethan came running up from the crowd and threw his arms around his older brother.

“I knew you were going to win!”

Roman smiled as everyone congratulated him. Luca walked up to him and shook his hand.

“The debt is paid.” He said as he walked away.

“Ethan, I will break your nose if you get mixed up with him again.” Roman pointed his finger at Luca.

  “I won’t, big bro. I promise.”

“Let’s get out of here.” I told him.

“Yo, West! I’m taking my girl anywhere but here. Get Maddie and Ethan home.”

  “Use protection!” West yelled.

We got inside his Mustang and in an instant we were gone. As we drove I thought about everything we had been through. I hoped the best was yet to come.

After driving through town and passing Maddie’s neighborhood, I decided to ask where he was taking me.

  “Where are we going?”

He looked at me and gave me the sweetest smile.

“I’m taking to officially meet my mother and sister.”

  Swoon! My heart fluttered.

“Could you be any more perfect?” I asked him.

“I’m not perfect, Pumpkin. Far from it.”

“Could have fooled me.” I told him, winking at him.

He put the car in park and and came around to open my door. I got out and looked at his house. It was quaint and homey, not flashy like my parents. And I loved it.

I could see my future with him, in a house like this. That’s the life I wanted. A simple one but with extraordinary love.
