“Evana, please look at me. I feel like I haven’t seen you in forever. Uncover your face and let me look at you.”
Doing what he asked, she snagged a handful of tissues to mop up her face. “Not much to see.”
“You’re the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. Can you hold my hand? I can’t seem to lift my arm.”
“Sure.” Carefully gathering his hand into both of hers, she caressed his smooth skin.
“That feels amazing. Glad I can feel it at all. Are you up to telling me more about what I’ve missed over the last ten days?”
“Alright.” Wetting her lips, she wasn’t sure where to start. She guessed at the beginning was as good a place as any, and he would want to know all of it. “Well, after you were knocked out, they took me to some warehouse. I was unconscious for most of it. All I can remember is waking up handcuffed to a wooden post. Everything is blank after that point until I found myself outside the building. Then Lucian found me there and brought me here.”
Her memories were distorted and vague. More like a dream than anything real. Hanging onto the thoughts made her temples throb.
“Sorry, I know it isn’t much but that’s all I can remember about me. I was told Rayna had forgotten her cell phone in the studio. Luckily, Tegan came back to get it for her after they made it back home from Wicked Brews. He heard a crash upstairs, and that’s when he found you on the floor in my apartment. He called the police and then called the guys at Mythical Ink to form a search party to help find me. I was lucky Lucian was able to track me down.”
“You said you were handcuffed.” She watched Jason’s neck work as he swallowed hard. “How did you get loose?”
“That’s the oddest part. I don’t have a clue. All I remember was finding myself outside.”
“I plan to kill every single one of those motherfuckers as soon as I’m out of here.”
“You won’t have to.” She wet her lips before recalling the story on the news the following day. “All the remaining members of the Satan’s Disciples were slaughtered by some kind of animal. They think it was a large dog or a wolf, from what they can tell of the bite marks on the bodies.”
“A wolf?”
“Yes. Do you think it could be the same one you saw that night in the alley?”
“For some strange reason, I think it is,” Jason muttered.
Every hair on her body stood straight out at the possibility. Whatever had taken place was buried somewhere inside the depths of her mind. Locked away so she couldn’t recall the incident. She knew the answers were there, she just couldn’t access the information.
Whatever had happened couldn’t be all bad. She was alive and so was Jason. The wolf, dog, or whatever it was that had killed those members hadn’t come after her, so maybe it was able to decipher between good and evil people. Otherwise, why was she spared while the rest were mauled to death?
All she knew was, the animal had not only saved her life, but had freed her of all her enemies. She wished with everything in her that the creature was never found, because she knew if it were, it would be killed on site for taking the lives of those people. As far as she was concerned it had done the public a service by ridding the world of those assholes.
Burrowing down into the plushness of the first-class seat, Jason took a sip of the coffee the flight attendant had given him and grimaced. The fashionable cafés in New York had defiantly spoiled his tastes buds.
Due to arrive in Scottsdale in the next few minutes, he let his head fall back into the cushioned upholstery. He didn’t particularly care for flying, but he’d wanted to visit his dad before he went back to work at Mythical Ink and driving would have eaten up too much time that he could be visiting with his father.
So far it had been a smooth flight to Scottsdale, only some slight turbulence about thirty minutes after they’d taken off.
After catching a flight out of New York, they’d stopped in Texas to visit her mom in the federal prison. He wasn’t able to go in with her, only one visitor at a time, so he’d remained in the waiting area wringing his hands as he worried how Evana’s first meeting with her mom after all these years was going.
Her eyes were red-rimmed when she’d emerged from her visit. She’d embraced him immediately, said everything had gone well, but she hadn’t said much after that. Jason wasn’t going to push her to talk. She would confide in him when she was ready. He imagined it would be difficult to reunite with someone after so long a time, especially after enduring years of hardship caused directly from the actions of that other person.
Turning his head on the seat, he looked down at his fiancée. Evana shifted in the seat next to him. Her head nuzzling his shoulder as she sighed in her sleep. Napping as if it were the first time she’d ever completely let her mind relax. The constant fear she’d carried all those years finally lifted, taking with it the anxiety that always marked her beautiful face.
Her hand came up to wrap around his bicep as she cuddled closer. The diamond he’d placed on her finger caught the sun’s rays, scattering a prism of colors throughout the cabin.
Jason had to be the luckiest motherfucker on the planet. His dream of making Evana his had finally come true. They’d survived an attack from the Satan’s Disciples that should have left them both dead. When they returned from their trip, he would be headed to work at a shop he was one-quarter owner of.
The guys at Mythical Ink had surprised the shit out of him when they’d invited him to partner with them. He’d paused for only a moment, searching their faces before he had agreed to the union. Something had clicked into place, and he knew that that was where he belonged. He didn’t know how or why, only that his future was with these three men.
The plane gave a shudder as they began their descent. Once they landed, it was over to the car rental and then off to his childhood home to bring his girl to meet his dad.
“Hey, pretty lady, we’re going to land soon,” he spoke softly into her hair.
Her eyes blinked open, the amethyst brilliant as she looked up at him and smiled. She stole his breath, he knew it would always be this way with her no matter how old they lived to be, which he hoped was a long freaking time. They still had a lot of living left to do.
“I didn’t snore, did I?” she asked, stretching her legs out in front of her.
“Like a freight train, but you looked so damn cute with the drool dripping off your chin, I didn’t have the heart to wake you.”
Swiping her hand across her mouth, she gave him a horrified look.
Chuckling, he reassured her, “I was only joking, baby, you weren’t snoring.”
“You’re so bad, Jason. I swear you’re never serious.” Her lips twitched into a grin as she scolded him.
“I thought that was one of the reasons why you love me so much.”
“You know it is.” She raised up to kiss him before settling back into her seat.
“Was that it? That tiny pop kiss was all you could spare me?” he pouted.
“We are in a public place, Jason. I’m trying to behave myself.”
“Where’s the fun in that? I think we should give the mile high club a run for its money on the flight back. What do say, sexy? Wanna be naughty with me?” He wagged his eyebrows at her.
Evana’s laugh was throaty as she considered his words. Oh yeah, she had that special twinkle in her eye that said he was in for a treat on the flight back.
He had a treat for her, too. One that involved the back seat of the rental car and the drive-in theater from their first date. He wanted a do-over of that night and planned to pleasure her until she forgot all about her first blundered sexual experience.
That was just one of many indulgences he had planned for his future wife. The more time they spent exploring each other, the kinkier she was proving to be.
Just the thoughts of her luscious body undulating beneath his had him shifting around in his seat. He was glad for the jacket he was wearing that he could use the tail of it to hide is monster h
ard-on from the rest of the people on the plane.
Evana noticed his discomfort and slid her hand under his jacket, getting a feel of what he had hidden beneath.
“We still have time before the flight attendants make us stay in our seats. Why don’t we take care of this now?”
Not waiting for an answer from him, Evana stood, squeezing past him, making sure to arch her back enough so that her ass was in his face as she stepped into the narrow isle.
Glancing over her shoulder, her amethyst eyes flashed. He knew that look. It was the one she always gave him when she had a yearning that only he could satisfy. And, didn’t that just slap a smile on his face.
The flight attendants all busy with preparing for their landing, no one saw him follow Evana inside the tiny lavatory. Shutting the door, he watched transfixed as she wiggled out of her thong. The silky material sliding down her legs from beneath her skirt.
“Touch me,” she breathed against his lips.
Cupping her sex, she moaned spreading her thighs. Plunging two fingers inside, she was already unbearably wet. Working her fevered flesh, he felt her pop the button on his pants. Unzipping, she grabbed his rigid length, pumping him with her fist until he was close to spilling.
Lifting her by the waist, he balanced her on the lip on the miniature sink. He slid easily inside her slippery center as she leaned back as far as she could to give him better access.
Wetting his thumb, he rubbed her clit as he set a frantic rhythm. This was going to have to be a quickie, and he wanted it to be good for her.
It wasn’t long before her feminine muscles began to clinch around him setting off his own explosive orgasm.
Coming down from their mutual bliss, they had finished just in time to hear the flight attendant announce everyone back to their seats.
Stepping back, he helped Evana to her feet. When she didn’t let go, he studied the serious expression on her face.
Running his fingertips down her cheek, he tilted her chin up when she made to look away. “What is it?”
“I just love you so much it hurts. Does that make sense?” Her eyes burned him with an intensity he felt to the soles of his feet. “I feel like I wasted so much time trying to ignore my feelings for you. I’m so sorry I kept you in limbo all that time when we could have been together.”
A knock sounded on the closed door. “We need all passengers in their seats, please.”
He ignored the muffled voice, placing a gentle kiss on Evana’s lips. “A wise man just recently told me that everything happens for a reason, that sometimes we don’t always know the why of it. I believe we were destined to be together. It just took longer than I wanted, but here we are. Together. And, I couldn’t be happier. Yes, I do know what you mean. I love you so much, I feel like I’ll die from the joy of it.”
Evana pulled him to her in an embrace so strong, he felt his bones bending. Hugging her back with equal intensity, he caught a glimpse of himself in the small mirror over the sink. His smile so broad, it lit up the cramped space. A smile he never thought he’d see on his own face.
A smile just like Tegan’s.
~Not The End~
But, Until Exotic Ink Series (Book Four)
LOOK for Vex: Mythical Ink Series (book 1) in early 2018! He will be the first in my paranormal spin-off series!
Note From the Author:
Hello Romance-aholics!
As many of us do, I read to give myself a break from the daily grind, and there’s no better way to do that than to get lost inside a juicy romance novel when you’re feeling overworked or overstressed.
I’m a wearer of many hats. I’m a wife, a mother, a female firefighter, a reader and lover of all things romance, and an avid daydreamer. I find writing to be therapeutic, so I indulge whenever I can find a spare moment. Plus, it’s an outlet for my dirty mind. LOL!
I hope you enjoyed Jason: Exotic Ink Series (Book Three). I plan to continue the Exotic Ink series and am planning a paranormal spin-off called Mythical Ink in 2018. It will feature some of the same characters you’ve already met in the Exotic Ink Series with a focus on the paranormal characters that have already been introduced. Vex will be first in that series.
I hope you enjoy reading my series as much as I’ve enjoyed bringing these characters to life. I better get back to work, there are so many sexy scenes I have yet to write.
