"Ohh," She moaned as I trailed kisses down her neck. My senses went into overdrive at the sound.
"Oh my," She gasped as I cupped her breast, which I knew was likely to be sensitive right now because of the pregnancy hormones.
"Oh yes," She said as I continued to fondle her breasts.
"Oh Elsa," I groaned and I lifted her swiftly into my arms. I knew if I didn't move now, I would take her on the nearest flat surface, and I didn't want that. Not only did I want to be careful because of the baby she was carrying, but I also wanted us to savor the night of passion properly. It had been too long since I had felt her arms around me.
"Alan," She murmured in my ear as I headed to the bedroom, nibbling my earlobe as I carried her. I gently placed her on the bed and barely had time to study her bedroom properly before I had covered her body with mine.
"It has been so long, Elsa," I said, my breathing uneven with longing.
"Yes, it has," Elsa replied, her breathing ragged as well. I removed her clothes quickly before doing the same with mine.
"Oh, you are so beautiful," I gasped as I stared at her nakedness, especially the small bump where our baby was growing. I couldn't help myself as I lowered my head and placed a soft kiss on her bump.
"Alan," She gasped as I did this. "I want more!"
I smiled against her bump while I slipped a finger into her core, feeling that she was already wet. I guided my hard member into her and groaned as I felt her clench around me.
"Oh Elsa," I groaned out as the intense pleasure swept over me. I could barely hear her moans of pleasure as I started thrusting in and out of her. My vision became unfocused as I felt the pleasure threaten to overcome me, but I held myself back, wanting to ensure her pleasure before I let myself release.
"Yes!" She screamed as she was hit by the throes of pleasure and I let myself go, moaning deeply as I shook from the intensity of m orgasm.
I breathed heavily as I slumped beside her, both of us trying to catch our breath.
"That … was … magnificent," I said in between heavy breathing.
"Yes, it was," She said with a smile.
I felt waves of tranquility washing over me as I looked into her smiling face. This felt right. Peace, I thought as I slowly opened his eyes. I wondered why I felt so and turned to my side. At this, I smiled as he saw Elsa sleeping peacefully beside me. The memory of our night together washed over me. At this, I checked the time; it was 4:00 am. At this, I rose and went to the toilet to pee. Soon after, I returned to bed. This was when a thought hit me. This is the second time my nightmares are eluding me. Also, it was when I was with Elsa. What does this mean? Elsa, what have you done to me? She must have felt my burning gaze on her as she opened her eyes slowly and said,
“Hey” At this, she yawned.
“Hi” I replied, smiling sheepishly
“You are awake,” She said as she watched my eyes
“Yes.”
“Is there a problem?” She asked as she furrowed her brows
“Why did you ask?” I asked. At this, a quick thought sped through my mind; Problem? Never! With you by my side, all I feel is peace. However, her words interrupted my thoughts as she said,
“It’s early and you’re up. Do you rise this early every time?” I chuckled a bit as I replied, saying
“Sometimes, when I have my nightmares, I’m up earlier than this”
“Nightmares? Elsa asked as she moved closer, closing the gap between us across the bed.
“Yes, nightmares,” I replied.
“Do you want to talk about it?” She asked. Her voice sounded genuinely concerned.
“Are you sure you want me to bore you with all of that?”
“Come on, Alan, don’t be silly! I’m all ears!” Elsa said. I looked into her eyes and saw the worry therein. I sighed as I said,
“Alright” At this, I began recounting the various nightmares I recurrently had and the gory details of the blood-soaked faces, shrilling screams, helpless innocent children, the countless people I couldn't save that haunt me every night, waking me up in a cold sweat gasping for breath.
“How have you been able to deal with this?”
“The dreams have kept coming,” I said as I paused for a while before continuing,
“I use painkillers to suppress the headaches that accompany them”
“What!” She exclaimed. She stared at me with an alarmed expression
“You’ve been going through all these for so long and all you’ve been using are painkillers?”
“It means that you’re awake because you’ve had another nightmare, right?” She asked
“No, I’ve not. With you by my side, I don’t have nightmares” I said with a smile
“What do you mean by that?” Elsa asked
“I don’t have the nightmares when you are with me” I said. At this, she gaped at me for a while before she whispered,
“How is that possible?”
“I can’t explain it. You know what? Let’s forget about this, shall we?” I asked, forcing a smile
“But,” She started to say as I cut her short and planted a kiss on her lips. At first, the kiss was meant to stop the conversation but things soon got steamy as our desires skyrocketed. Soon enough, we forgot about my nightmares and focused on satisfying our desires.
Chapter 8: Dr. Elsa
"You have a delivery, doctor," Nurse Nancy said as she entered my office that morning. I was seven and a half months gone and was due to give birth within the next month or so. I was glad that Alan had proven over and over again that he was a total opposite of every other man I had been with. He had done nothing but shower me with love these past few months. After one of our scans we had been told we were expecting two babies and the joy within me had no bounds. It was exhilarating. There had been a fair amount of gossip in the hospital when my pregnancy had started to show, but I had just ignored it. There had been even more gossiping when news had gotten around that Alan was the father, but by then we had been too lost in getting to know each other to care about any of that.
"What do you have for me?" I asked her. I smiled as she produced a bouquet of red roses.
"Wow, is that really mine?" I asked with wide eyes as I stared at the bouquet in her hands.
"Yes, it is, doctor," She said with a smile.
"Wow, they are beautiful," I said as I took the flowers from her.
They must be from Alan. He hasn’t stopped surprising me with gifts these past months. I smiled to myself as I inhaled the heady fragrance of the flowers.
"Thank you, Nancy," I said with a smile.
"You're welcome, doctor," she said before she left me once more. I smiled as I picked my phone to call Alan.
"Brrr!" His phone rang just once before he picked up the call.
"Hello babe," He said and I could hear the smile in his voice. "How are you and the babies?"
"They are fine. In fact, they asked me to tell you that they like the flowers," I said with a smile.
"What flowers?" He asked, and this brought a frown to my face.
"A bouquet of red roses arrived in my office right now, and I assumed it was from you," I said apprehensively.
"I didn’t send you any flowers. I'll be in your office in a few minutes," He said and ended the call without another word. I looked at the flowers again and noticed a small note amongst the stems.
To Elsa. The note said without a signature.
I raised my head as my office door opened and Alan walked in.
"Where are they?" he asked before his gaze landed on where the bouquet sat on my desk.
"Calm down, I'm sure it’s nothing to worry about," I said soothingly as I watched him pick up the roses and start to examine them.
"Where is the note?" He asked.
"Here," I said as I passed him the brief note. He was still frowning, looking at the roses as if they were a bomb. "It’s nothing, Alan. They’re either a prank or from a harmless secret admirer." I was trying to reassure h
im but mainly trying to subdue the panic I was starting to feel.
"It could be a stalker for all we know," Alan muttered.
"Alan, it's nothing," I said again.
"No, it's not. I'm not willing to take any chances with you and the babies," He said. I gave him a small smile because I knew he was thinking of the time we had a scare when Dr. Fred had told us there was a high risk of losing the pregnancy. It had been a scary moment for both of us, but Alan had stayed strong for both of us, and that had pulled me through. Not that I wasn’t still worried, but Dr. Fred had assured us that the risks of losing the babies were now very low.
"We should inform the police," Alan said seriously.
"No, we shouldn’t. It's only a bouquet of flowers with a short note. I'm trying to stay calm over here, and I need you to help me," I sighed.
"I'm sorry. I just don't want anything to happen," He said distractedly. I inwardly winced as I felt his concerns were for the babies and not really for me.
"I know, but the babies will be fine. Nothing has happened. The cops probably won’t even look into this. Maybe there was a mix-up at the store, and this is meant for someone else. Let's just leave it for now. We can go to the police if it happens again," I said.
"Fine, I hope it doesn't, but if it does, promise me we are going to the cops," He said as he walked around the desk so he was standing in front of me.
"I promise. Just relax, I'm sure it's some mix-up," I said with a smile, hoping desperately that was the case.
"Okay," He said as he leaned down and planted a kiss on my lips.
Dr. Rock
"Alan," Elsa said, and I sat up at the sound of her voice. She sounded distressed.
"What's wrong, Elsa?" I asked, sitting up immediately.
"I've received another one," She said, and I swore. I knew she was referring to the notes and letters. My instincts had been right when she had received the mysterious bouquet of roses some days back After that, she had received more, and we had decided to report the case to the cops. They hadn't been able to find anything yet, but we had agreed that we were going to be as cautious as possible while they carried out their investigation.
"Where are you?" I asked in alarm as I stood up and grabbed my keys. I knew she wasn't at the hospital because it was her day off.
"I went to meet Dylan as I told you, and now I'm in front of the mall. I wanted to pick up some things. I came out, and I found another bouquet and note on my windshield.”
"Leave that place immediately, Elsa!" I yelled into the phone.
"Okay," She said. "I've started the car, and I'm driving away from the mall." Perspiration covered me at the thought of her being in danger.
"Are you far from the mall?" I asked after a few minutes.
"Yes, but I think there is a problem," She said, her voice trembling, and my heart plummeted.
"What problem?" I asked.
"There is a black van behind me, I think it's following me," She said, and I felt the breath catch in my throat.
"Elsa, be careful! Can you lose it?" I said rapidly.
"It’s almost reached me … "
"What, no!" I screamed, but I heard nothing on the other end except for the screech of a car.
"Elsa!" I yelled into the phone, but there was only silence.
Dr. Elsa
Why do I feel pain? I thought with a frown, my eyes still closed. I wanted to open my eyes, but it was a difficult task. Finally, I did, and I frowned as I stared around me. My hands and legs were tied up and I was sat on the floor in a cold dirty room.
What am I doing here? Then I gasped as everything came rushing back to me, from seeing the note on my windshield to calling Alan, then spotting the black van following me before it caught up with my car and cornered me. The last thing I remembered was a masked man coming out of the van and pressing a handkerchief to my face. I was sure it had contained chloroform.
My babies. I thought worriedly as I stared down at my heavy stomach. I let out a sigh of relief as I didn't feel anything unusual. I need to get out of here as soon as possible, all three of us are in danger. Just then the door opened, and a man walked in. I raised my head in an attempt to get a proper view of the person and let out a gasp at the person I saw grinning at me evilly.
"Raphael?" Never would I have imagined he was behind this.
"Yes, love," He said with a wicked smirk.
"Don’t call me love. What on earth are you doing? Did you do all of this?" I asked with an incredulous look.
"I'm taking back what is mine once more," He said as he glared down at me.
"What are you talking about? What is yours that you are taking?" I had no idea what was going on or why I was there.
"You," He said, causing me to laugh derisively.
"You are joking, right? You made your decision clear when you conspired with that bastard of a lawyer," I snapped.
"That bastard put most of the blame on me so he got a shorter jail term than me, but I taught him a lesson. In his next life, he’ll think twice about pulling that stunt again," He said triumphantly while I watched him with an alarmed expression.
"What have you done, Raphael? What lesson are you talking about?"
"I dealt with him and paid him back for his betrayal," Raphael growled.
"What are you talking about?" I whispered though I had a feeling I didn’t want to know the details.
"Well I was going to punish him, but somehow he escaped. Anyway, that isn't my problem right now. My problem is that I return to find that you have opened your legs for another man," he spat in irritation.
"Are you kidding me right now? You tried to con Dylan and me out of our inheritance and that was three years ago! What did you expect? That I would be pining for you? Well, I have news for you buddy, I have found someone who cares for me in a way you never could. With him, I’ve discovered what true love really means," I said as I glared at him, trying to sound braver than I felt. The anger over all the hurt and betrayal he had made me go through three years ago washed through me all over again. However, one thing resounded in my head. I was in love with Alan.
I should have told him before. Now, I might not have the opportunity thanks to this psycho. I hope I come out of this alive. I hope no harm comes to my babies.
"What are you saying?" Raphael asked through gritted teeth.
"I'm saying that you wasted your time coming here because you aren't wanted here. I love someone else, and even if I wasn't in love with him, I would never return to you. How did you get out, anyway? You should still be in jail," I said as I spat on his boots, earning a smack across my face.
"It's none of your business how I escaped from that hell hole," he yelled in my face. He was starting to look more and more unhinged.
"I won't come back to you," I said boldly though every part of my body ached.
"Well, in that case, I may as well end this now," He said, a manic grin spread across his face, and I watched with wide eyes as he produced a pistol.
Oh no, I'm going to die. I closed my eyes and tried to curl around my stomach in an effort to protect the twins. What transpired next happened so fast I was barely able to process it. Alan burst in with a group of cops and wrestled with Raphael to take the pistol from his hand.
I screamed as the gun went off, and I saw Alan's arm covered with blood.
"No! Alan!" I sobbed but I let out a breath of relief as he raised his head and smiled at me before running over to untie me. Then I felt it.
"Alan, my water just broke," I gasped.
Dr. Rock
I watched as Elsa breathed deeply.
"You can do it, Elsa. I love you," I said as tears leaked from my eyes. Everything that had gone through my mind when I thought I would lose her flooded back into my brain. After everything that had happened, I couldn't hold back my love for her anymore.
"You do?" She asked breathlessly.
"Yes, I do, I really do," I whispered with a shy smile.
"I love you too, Alan, " She s
aid with a smile and my heart soared at this. I placed a quick kiss on her lips.
"Will you marry me then?" I asked as I knelt beside her. I didn't care that our colleagues were trying to deliver our babies and witnessing our exchange.
"Yes," She whispered, and I smiled at this before I kissed her again, my heart bursting with love.
"I love you," I said with a smile. It felt so good finally saying those words to her.
"I love you too," She said just before another contraction hit her. She gave birth to the first baby, Mia, minutes later. Treyton followed not long after and our new family was complete.
"Thank you for everything," I said as I placed a kiss on her forehead, Mia in her arms and Treyton in mine.
