“Yeah, but you’ve got me curious now. I thought you were just referring to what restaurant we were going to eat at.”

“I know you, Selene; a lot better than you think I know you. And I know you’ll love this surprise. Just trust me.” He unlocked his door and they walked in. He went into the bedroom for a moment while Selene sat down on the couch to wait.

“Of course I trust you.” She smiled.

Only a minute later, he returned, carrying two large duffel bags.

“What the hell are those?” she asked.

“They’re duffel bags,” he answered with a smirk.

“Wiseass.” She laughed, playfully slapping him on the arm.

They went back out to the car and he loaded the duffel bags into the trunk while she got seated again. As soon as he got back in the car, he took off.

“How hungry are you?” he asked.

“Not too bad. I can wait a while if I have to.”

  “Okay.”

She was hoping he’d say more; perhaps give some sort of clue as to where they were going.

After driving for about twenty minutes through traffic, they left the city and entered New Jersey.

  “Where are we going?”

“Do you really think I’m going to tell you now and spoil the surprise?” He grinned, but when he looked over at her and saw the slightly frightened look on her face and actually felt a bit of her resonating fear, he said, “Listen, baby, don’t worry. We’re going someplace safe. The killer hasn’t left the city and probably won’t. You don’t have to worry about him showing up where we’re going.”

Selene felt comforted by his words and felt a sense of calm after that. She closed her eyes to rest, and before she knew it, she had drifted off to sleep.

“Wake up, Selene,” said Marcus, gently waking her from her nap. When she opened her eyes, he announced, “We’re here.”

She slowly and groggily stepped out of the car and stared up at the sky. What a beautiful night it was. There weren’t any street lights. The only lights were from the full moon and the stars. Then, as she looked at the forest surrounding her, for the first time, she could tell exactly how well she could see in the dark. “It’s so beautiful!”

Marcus noticed the look of awe on her face. It wasn’t just because of the beautiful scenery; seeing so well in darkness like this was new for her. “I know it’s hard to tell exactly how well your vision is at night when you’re in the city, with all the lights everywhere. I bet this comes as a big shock to you. I remember what it was like trying to see in the dark as a human. I was only a small child, though, so the memories are faint.”

“I can’t believe how well I can see!” she yelled, her voice echoing through the empty forest. “What I wouldn’t give to live in a place like this. It’s so nice here.”

“I know. I come here quite a bit to escape the city life and just be myself, and you know what that involves. I come out here to hunt and occasionally camp out. That’s what the duffel bags are for. I packed the tent, a couple pillows, and some blankets.”

“Aww, that sounds nice!” She ran over to him, wrapping her arms around him and kissing him. “Really, I had no idea this is what you were planning. If I had any idea, I wouldn’t have fallen asleep on the way here.”

“Well, I’m kind of glad you did, because you’re not going to be getting too much rest tonight,” he said, winking at her. “Well, you know what I mean.”

“Of course I do, silly. This whole getaway was so sweet of you. I love you, babe.”

“I love you, too.” He kissed her, and this time it was a longer, deeper kiss. But when he heard Selene’s stomach grumble and she nibbled on his lip, he figured it was dinner time. “We better eat soon, or we might eat each other.”

“Oh, I’d love that,” she said, giggling.

“I knew you’d say something like that. First, we have to set up the tent real quick, and then we can go hunting.”

“We’d better start a fire, too, so we can cook it when we get back,” she said, then realizing the stupidity of that remark. ‘Duh, we’re not going to be cooking it,’ she thought, cringing a little at the thought of killing an animal and immediately eating the bloody meat off its bones.

“We’re werewolves. We eat raw meat, not charred meat.” He grinned at her. “I know it may seem a little gross now, but once you start eating raw meat for the first time, you’ll never want to go back to regular food again.” He then got the tent out of one of the duffel bags.

“I know. I realized that after I said that dumb remark. I’m still kind of getting used to the whole werewolf thing.” She went to help him with the tent, but he waved her off.

“Stand back,” he said. She stepped back and he threw the tent onto the ground. It popped up instantly. He quickly pushed a couple metal stakes in the four corners of the tent to secure it.

“Well, that was easy.” She laughed as the gawked at the tent. Finally, they would get to eat!

“Okay, so we have a few choices in meats in this neck of the woods. There’s deer, rabbit, squirrel, raccoon―”

“Stop right there. What’s the most common and easiest to catch?”

“Well, easiest to catch would be raccoon, but the most common would be rabbit. They’re not too bad to catch, though.”

“Okay, rabbit it is, if that’s okay with you.”

“That and deer are my favorite, but that’s too much meat for two wolves. We’ll catch two rabbits and that’ll be just right.”

Marcus shifted into his black wolf form and slowly crept into the brush. Selene changed, assuming her white wolf form, and followed after him. She followed his movements, walking silently along the forest floor, carefully avoiding any sticks, stones, or leaves that would make noise under their paws.

After about ten minutes of searching, they spotted four rabbits, all scattered several feet apart from one another. Marcus looked at Selene, making eye contact with her and silently giving her the ‘go ahead’.

Selene carefully and quietly stepped forward, watching every step as if her life depended on it. She had her eyes on the rabbit, and even though she was still a good twenty feet away, her stomach told her to go after the rabbit in that instant. Her mind told her otherwise. However, she listened to her conscience and patiently waited through every long, silent step, until she was within only five feet of the animal. Deciding to wait no longer, she lunged at it, completely taking it by surprise. Her teeth closed on the rabbit’s neck and she felt it snap under the force of her jaw.

Proud of herself, she looked over at Marcus, noting he had caught himself a rabbit, too. She joined him and they headed back to camp, looking forward to enjoying the rewards of their hunt.

Upon returning to the camp, Selene began to tear into the rabbit, eating pieces of it. She had never tasted anything so good before; fresh, warm, juicy meat. She looked over at Marcus and saw that he was enjoying his meal as well.

Within ten minutes, they had finished picking the rabbits’ bones clean, and afterward they buried the carcasses. They both changed back to human form as they walked back to the tent.

“You know what would be nice?” asked Selene. “If we built a campfire. Whenever my family and I used to go camping when I was a kid, I loved sitting by the campfire. I’d sometimes sit there for hours, just staring into the flames.”

“That sounds nice.” He smiled. “I noticed some rocks behind the tent. Can you gather those and make a fire circle, while I go collect some wood?”

  “Sure.”

Within five minutes, Selene had a nice fire circle built, and Marcus had collected an impressive amount of wood. She watched as he delivered the last armful, admiring his strength and beautiful, muscular body. Her mind drifted for a moment, as she imagined their last time making love. She closed her eyes for a few seconds to relive the memory. Then she snapped back to reality. It wasn’t time for that just yet. She wanted to start a fire and sit down with her boyfriend to enjoy it for a while.

Marcus grabbed a few twigs, put them in the fire circle, and took a lighter out of one of the duffel bags to start the fire. He got it lit surprisingly fast and began adding pieces of wood to the fire, slowly ranging from smaller to larger. When the fire was stable and hot, he added a large piece of wood. Then he took a blanket out of one of the bags and spread it out on the ground about four feet from the fire, inviting Selene to sit down with him.

When she sat beside him, he wrapped his arm around her, and she rested her hand on his thigh and said, “Thank you.”

  “For what?”

“For bringing me out here tonight. With all that’s been going on, we really needed to get away from the city for a little while. This is the perfect getaway.”

“You’re welcome, honey. Just so you know, I would have brought you out here eventually anyway. Any werewolf needs the chance to experience nature and live on their wild side, at least for a little while.”

“Yeah, you’re right. But I know you wouldn’t have brought James out here camping with you.” She laughed and he laughed along with her.

“You’ve got a point there. I love you, Selene. I know bringing you out here would make you happy.”

Selene gazed up at him, watching the reflection of the flames dance in his eyes. She ran her tongue across her top lip as she imagined him kissing her, and a warm, calm feeling washed over her.

“Your eyes sparkle like golden diamonds in the light of the flames,” said Marcus, captivated by her beauty. He couldn’t take his eyes off her. He was suddenly overwhelmed by his lust for her.

He slowly slipped her shirt off. The sight of her in her bra, and the way her smooth skin glistened in the firelight only fueled his lust for her.

But first, before he could lay his hands on her again, she took off his shirt and ran her hands along his smooth chest and along his tight abs.

As she pulled him close to kiss him, he ran his hands along her back and unclipped her bra. He gently pushed the straps down, off her shoulders and threw the garment aside.

A feeling of excitement washed over her when he ran his hands along her waist and up to her full breasts. Her nipples hardened as he very lightly ran his fingers over them, and she got on her knees and kissed him more ferociously in response. He got up on his knees also, meeting her kiss with equal intensity. She reached down and anxiously undid his jeans, slipping them down, along with his boxers, down to his knees. He gently laid her down on the blanket, took his clothes off the rest of the way, and stripped her pants off, taking her panties off along with them.

She knew what was coming next, and wanted every bit of it. When he leaned over to kiss her, she opened her mouth, granting his tongue access to explore. When his lips parted from hers, he began leaving a slow trail of kisses from her lips, down her chin, and to her neck, nibbling on her sensitive skin. A low moan emitted from her throat, letting him know she loved what he was doing.

While his lips continued their journey downward, he softly ran his fingertips along her abdomen and between her legs, grazing along her sweet spot in a manner that drove her wild. Then, as his lips made their way to her breast, and he took her nipple into his mouth, he slipped two fingers inside her wet entrance. As he moved them around inside her and lightly nibbled on her nipple, she moaned loudly and arched her back in pleasure, grabbing his head and digging her fingernails into his scalp. Then she dragged her nails down his neck to his back.

He moaned in response to her aggressiveness and sat up, pulling her up with him, kissing her wildly. He wanted her so badly.

She straddled him, but she had other things on her mind.

She pushed him back gently until he lay completely flat on his back. She knelt between his thighs and smiled up at him, running her tongue across her lips. She reached out, touching his cock and then wrapped her hand around him. She knew he was thick, but she was astonished when she couldn’t touch her index finger to her thumb because of his girth. Slowly moving her hand up and down his shaft until she noticed the wetness at the tip. Wiping her thumb across the tip, she used it as lubrication for her hand. Selene took her other hand and squeezed his sack, bringing a howl from Marcus. She looked up to see if she had hurt him, but he was anything but hurt.

Marcus threw his head back and howled as Selene was stroking him. He wasn’t going to last if she kept it up. Just when he was going to pull her to him, he felt her tongue lick the head of his cock and he lost all thought.

Selene circled her tongue around the tip of his cock and then opening her mouth she slowly started to take him in, and inch at a time until she felt him hit the back of her throat. She swallowed, which brought out another howl from Marcus. Pulling back, she then played with the very tip of his erection with her tongue, and when she wrapped her mouth around him once again, she hummed lightly, grinning up at him. She thought that little move would drive him crazy. She was right.

Marcus was lost. He dug his hands into blanket beside him, trying to grab anything he could. Selene’s mouth was going to be the death of him. ‘But what a way to go’, he thought. He knew he had to stop her before he exploded in her mouth. He wanted to come inside her, not in her mouth. With the last of his control he reached for her and pulled her up until she straddled him.

Selene reached down to guide him inside her entrance; she lowered herself onto him, gasping as she felt the full length of his erection inside her.

She closed her eyes and leaned her head back and moaned, enjoying every pleasurable sensation she was experiencing along with his immense pleasure. Being emotionally linked like they were really had its perks.

Breathing heavily, Selene leaned toward him and whispered huskily in his ear, “Fuck me hard, baby.”

Marcus grinned at her and growled in response. He flipped her over, never breaking the connection as he came down on top of her while laying her down on the blanket.

She wrapped her legs around his back, and he began to thrust hard and fast within her. She pulled herself toward him, meeting his hard thrusts with force. She could feel every inch of him as he hammered into her. She was approaching her climax fast. She leaned up and bit his nipple and that drove him wild. He growled and reached back, taking her calves in his hands and hooking her legs over his forearms. He leaned in putting his hands flat on the ground by her shoulders. In this position, she could feel the pull in her thighs as he had her spread wide. She felt a bite of pain but nothing like the pleasure he was bringing her. When he started thrusting into her again, it was without pause, and she felt him touch her womb with every thrust he made. When she reached her breaking point, she screamed his name, closing her eyes tight while she tried to hold onto her momentary high.

Only seconds later, between the sound of her screams and the feeling of her tightening around him, he reached his climax as well, bathing her insides with the warmth of his essence. He threw his head back and let out a howl that rang through the woods. Leaning down, his lips met hers in a sweet, loving kiss. Exhausted, for the moment anyway, he collapsed by her side and pulled her close. They lay there for a little while, listening to the sound of each other’s slowing breaths and the fire crackling softly in the background.

“I think I blacked out for a second. That was amazing, once again,” she said, grinning.

“Always is.” He grinned back. “And what do you mean, ‘was’?”

Selene giggled wildly as Marcus rolled on top of her again, kissing and nipping at her neck playfully.

“I’ve had you fast and hard. This time it will be agonizingly slow,” he whispered huskily in her ear as he slid inside her once again.

“How? I thought men needed recovery time?” She asked.

“Werewolf, baby,” he said with a chuckle.

Selene wasn’t giggling anymore. She was never happier that she was a werewolf than at that moment. A human having sex with a werewolf? That would certainly be frightening for the human. She was happy to have found Marcus, someone she could completely relate to. He was her equal.
r />   This camping trip was definitely turning out to be quite the adventure for the both of them.

  ~ Chapter Fourteen ~

At first, Selene didn’t know why she woke up, but as she started to slowly open her eyes, she heard rustling outside the tent. She looked over at Marcus and saw that he was still fast asleep. She didn’t want to bother him, so she quietly unzipped the tent and stepped outside.

The sky was very dimly lit; she guessed sunrise would be in about an hour. She scanned the area for any intruders and didn’t see any. Brushing it off as possibly a deer or other animal, she knelt down to unzip the tent and heard the rustling again. This time it was further into the woods. Just like she had done during her hunt, she slowly and silently stepped toward where the noise had come from. Somehow, whatever it was had sensed her there and moved. That part of the forest was thick with tree growth and brush, so it made sense that she couldn’t see it move, and perhaps it could see her a little.

She continued on, determined to find out what the creature was that made the noise. Little by little, the creature’s pace sped up, so she sped up along with it. Finally, it broke into a run, and she chased after it. To her surprise, she was barely able to keep up with it. Whatever it was, it was fast.

Soon, she found herself in the middle of a field. She looked around and the creature was nowhere in sight. ‘Am I really that bad of a hunter?’ she thought, as she studied her surroundings. Then she noticed she wasn’t in a field at all; it was a plateau. She slowly and cautiously approached the drop-off, thinking, ‘Perhaps the creature jumped or climbed down the side.’ When she got to the very edge, she stared down at the steep drop-off, almost getting a little dizzy at the sight of it. It was at least a hundred-foot drop, and at the bottom were what appeared to be large, jagged-edged rocks that led to a creek. No, there was no way the creature had jumped this far or even attempted to climb down.

“Hello, Selene,” said an eerily familiar male voice.
