Grand Redemption (D'Vaire Book 1) Page 19

by Kingley, Jessamyn

“Ready?” Brogan asked, as their eyes met after the kiss.

The navy blue eyes of his mate were full of need and Ayden knew his own were just as blue and needy, “Yep.” Hastily lubing up his cock and using his fingers once again in Ayden’s ass to add more slick, he grabbed the base of his own cock so Ayden could take him in. Ayden felt the thick head of Brogan’s fat cock poised at his entrance and lowered his body slightly. Brogan steadied him with a hand on his waist, and he slowly helped Ayden lower his body closer to his own. He felt his hole stretch and burn as Brogan’s dick did its best to enter him. His cock was a lot thicker than three fucking fingers, even the ones that belonged on his mate’s giant hands.

The burn intensified until finally the thick head popped past the barrier of Ayden’s body and for the first time Ayden started to wonder if he really wanted to do this. This fucking hurt, and there was a lot more of Brogan still trying to get inside him.

“Relax, baby, it’ll get better. I promise,” Brogan encouraged him.

“Oh really? When was the last time you had a dick up your ass?” Ayden asked he knew damn well his dragon was a top only. He simply could not imagine Brogan bottoming for anyone. Brogan was pushing his body up slightly, obviously trying to get more of himself inside of Ayden, but Ayden’s own cock was beginning to wilt.

“I haven’t, but I have had sex before. It’ll start feeling better once I’m all the way in,” his idiotic mate explained.

“Do you really think it’s a good idea to bring up other fucking men now? What the hell is wrong with you, this is the second damn time tonight!” Ayden complained as Brogan slid another inch inside him.

“Of course not. My point is I speak from experience. I know you’ll like this.”

“Newsflash: I don’t like this. I feel full and weird, and your dick is too big. It’s never going to fit in all the way.”

  “I won’t fit?”

Ayden was nearly ready to get the hell right out of the bedroom. “No way.”

  “Got news for you.”

  “What?” he asked irritably.

“I am all the way inside you,” Brogan informed him and sure enough he felt Brogan’s pubes tickling his ass. His dragon took his hands and ran them up Ayden’s thighs coaxing him into relaxing, before using one big hand to grab Ayden’s now nearly flaccid cock. When Brogan began stroking his length, Ayden evaluated the feeling of having a massive intruder in his ass. The burn was thankfully gone and while Ayden still felt sort of strange he couldn’t say that it was completely unpleasant fullness inside him.

Ayden found it impossible to ignore the hand expertly working his cock and his body began to respond. His dick hardened again, and more whimpers and moans were soon falling from his lips. Unwilling to fight the urge he felt to move, Ayden braced his hands on Brogan’s broad chest and lifted his body a little. He gave in and let his body tell him what to do, as he cautiously lowered himself back down. Brogan gripped his hip with his free hand, and together they found a workable up and down rhythm. After a minute or two Ayden felt the first stirrings of pleasure coming from inside him where his mate was buried and began lifting himself up and down Brogan’s cock at a faster pace while Brogan jerked him off.

The thick girth of his dragon’s cock was massaging the inside of his passage and Ayden arched his back as the pleasure continued to increase. Their eyes met once again and Ayden loved seeing the flushing cheeks and the elongated teeth popping out over his bottom lip, he was happy to see that he wasn’t the only one having the time of his life. Ayden leaned his body forward with the hope of coaxing Brogan into a kiss, but the motion caused Brogan’s dick to hit his prostate, and he yelled instead.

Eager to feel that amazing intensity of pleasure again Ayden began fucking himself quickly on Brogan’s cock. His aim was true, and soon Ayden was nearly sobbing with the need to come. Without warning, Brogan let go of his hip and once again grabbed the back of Ayden’s neck, but instead of a kiss Brogan reared up and sank his teeth into Ayden’s throat. Not a single sound escaped him as the pleasure exploded and overwhelmed him. Thanks to Brogan, he was familiar with ecstasy, but this went way beyond anything his mate had ever made him feel before. Satisfaction seemed such a tame word to describe how he felt, as he came all over them both. He had not believed it was possible to feel this way, and he had never felt closer to the dragon who was emptying himself deep inside Ayden.

Thoroughly swamped with the love from the mating bite and overcome with passion that had no rival, Ayden clung to his sweaty mate. Brogan gently extricated his teeth from Ayden’s throat and licked the wound he had caused until it closed, as Ayden shivered in response. His mate rested his damp forehead against Ayden’s, as he too wrapped his arms around his mate. Like Ayden, Brogan was doing his best to catch his breath.

“I love you,” Brogan whispered and pressed his lips to the corner of Ayden’s swollen mouth.

Ayden mouthed the words and, just as tenderly, kissed his mate back, “I love you too.” Neither one of them said anything more as they leaned their foreheads together and cherished the feeling of finally completing their mate bond and sealing their lives forever.

The next morning Brogan opened his eyes and looked down at the cute redhead drooling on his chest. While he had heard plenty of stories about the intensity of the mating bite, reality had all but knocked him on his ass. The orgasm had torn through him with barely any warning and miraculously it had caused his mate to come at the same time. He had actually felt Ayden’s soul merge with his own and his dragon had roared with triumph. Ayden was his forever and before him stretched the infinite length of time he had to love, laugh, and argue with the fiery familiar. His whole life had been focused on the search for his mate, and now he had a perfect one to lavish his attention on.

Sliding his hand over Ayden’s tangled waves the sunlight coming in through their bedroom’s large picture windows glinted off the shiny blue-black of the ring his mate had given him. It thrilled Brogan to see it there and to know a matching one rested on Ayden’s small finger. He continued to watch that ring as his hand left Ayden’s head to massage his neck.

“Sleeping here,” his mate mumbled against his chest.

“Nah, you’re awake,” Brogan contradicted, as his hand left Ayden’s neck to glide down the smooth skin of his back.

“Trying to sleep here,” Ayden tried again.

Cupping his mate’s ass and giving it a squeeze Brogan chuckled as his mate lifted his head to eyeball him in annoyance. “Oh sorry, don’t mind me.”

“How am I supposed to sleep while you are doing that?”

His fingers were now toying around Ayden’s hole. “Why are you so tired anyway?” Ayden rarely needed more than six or seven hours of sleep each night to recharge his batteries.

“Um, hello? How many times did we fuck last night?”

Having a mate who healed instantly was a definite advantage Brogan decided, as he slid a finger into his mate. “Only three… No, make that four times.”

“There you go. I need sleep.” But Ayden was lifting his ass to try and get Brogan’s finger deeper inside him, contradicting his words.

“Fine. You can go back to sleep.”

  “Gee, thanks,” Ayden responded sarcastically.

“Right after I fuck you.” Retrieving his finger from between his mate’s cheeks he wrapped him in his arms and quickly reversed their positions, so Ayden was lying beneath him.

“Sounds fair enough,” Ayden agreed with a nod as his lips curved up in a smile. Brogan gave him an answering grin and kissed his mate’s willing mouth.

  Chapter 18

Later that afternoon Brogan sat in the living room among his entire family, who were lounging about, with Ayden comfortably curled in his lap. He was unhurriedly rubbing his mate’s back and occasionally running his fingers through Ayden’s thick red mop of wavy hair. Brogan was about to kiss the top of his familiar’s head when Ayden turned to look up at him with a questioning look.
/>   “Are we expecting anyone?” Ayden asked him with a strange look.

“Here? No, why?” Their home was essentially out in the middle of nowhere so random people rarely just walked up to their door and knocked. In fact, the only time that anyone unexpected showed up was when Latarian and Ayden had arrived, and they all now knew the story of how Fate had sent them there via Latarian’s scrying mirror.

“I sense two people close to the door.” Ayden had barely gotten the sentence out before the doorbell rang.

“I guess your senses are right,” Brogan said with a smile, as he picked his mate up and sat him down next to him on the sofa so he could get up and answer the door.

  “Brogan.”

He was already heading towards the front hallway with Ayden trailing right behind him. “Yeah, baby?”

“I think… I think one of them is a witch.” Brogan was about to open the door when his mate’s words registered. He looked back at Ayden with an eyebrow raised in surprise, before turning back towards the door to grab the doorknob. Opening the large wooden door, he saw a short man with dark hair, most of which was covered beneath a worn baseball cap. Next to him was a man even shorter than the first with similar hair coloring minus the hat. They were also dressed somewhat similarly in jeans and T-shirts, although the first wore a much darker colored ensemble than his companion. Brogan thought they looked pretty harmless, but he was not likely to take any chances, especially with Ayden pressed into his back.

“Hi, can I help you?” he asked the duo.

“I hope so, does Latarian live here?” the taller one in the hat asked with a hopeful smile.

“Who wants to know?” Brogan felt his mate give his back a light smack at his rudeness, but his job was to protect the D’Vaires, and that included the one in question who he did not even particularly like.

“My name is Ari, and this is Derwin. We read online that there was still a warlock alive and that she lived at Court D’Vaire. This is Court D’Vaire, right?” The little guy looked at him curiously, and Brogan noticed that the two men had light blue eyes of the exact same size, shape, and color.

There was little sense in denying it, so Brogan answered their question truthfully. “This is Court D’Vaire.” He still wasn’t sure what these two wanted with Latarian, so he let the silence stretch out until it became decidedly awkward with them all just standing there staring at one another. Brogan heard his mate let out a long-suffering sigh behind him. Ari and Derwin looked at each other and then simultaneously shrugged, clearly they were unsure how to deal with his brusqueness.

Before Brogan could decide if he should make it a bit easier on them and say something, Ayden left his post behind him and came to stand at his side at the door. Letting out a sigh of his own Brogan figured he really shouldn’t be surprised that Ayden was unwilling to continue to let Brogan run the show.

“Are you a witch?” Ayden asked of their visitors.

“Yes, I’m a warlock,” the one who introduced himself as Ari announced with a proud smile.

“I’m Ari’s familiar. Who are you?” the question was asked by the man Ari had referred to as Derwin and Derwin was wearing an even bigger smile than his warlock.

“My name is Ayden. I’m Latarian’s familiar,” Brogan’s mate replied and it did not escape Brogan’s attention that Ari seemed to be concentrating very hard on Ayden’s face. He had no clue what that was about, but he was pretty sure that Ayden had already decided that these two were his newest friends.

“Latarian is in the living room. Come on inside, and you can tell us why you aren’t dead,” Brogan said and ushered the two small men into the house.

“Everyone else is a lot nicer than he is, but in case you actually want to talk to him, his name is Brogan,” his little mate informed the visitors and he gestured towards Brogan as they walked through the large house.

“Brogan, who was that at the door?” Aleksander asked as they arrived at the room where their family was gathered.

“This is Ari and Derwin; they are here to talk to Latarian.”

Latarian rose to her feet after Brogan’s announcement and crossed the room to stand in front of their guests. “You must be here to give me news of my grandfather. I am pleased to see you; I am anxious to clear his name.” Latarian was wearing the broadest smile Brogan had yet to see on her face. Personally, he found it kind of creepy and found himself idly wondering why her face was so different from Ayden’s, when Ari and Derwin’s features complemented each other’s so well. Since Brogan had never known any witches before Latarian’s arrival, he was unsure if it was unusual that Ari and Derwin resembled each other or if it was odd that Latarian and Ayden’s did not.

“Uh, your grandfather?” The look of bewilderment on the male warlock’s face was unmistakable; obviously he was not familiar with her family tree.

“Yes, I am the granddaughter of Carvallius. I assumed you were here in response to one of the many letters Blodwen sent out on my behalf,” Latarian responded and Brogan didn’t miss the look of disgust on Ari’s face at the mention of Carvallius; he was evidently aware of history’s take on Carvallius’ crimes. Brogan was pretty sure Latarian was not going to get any help from Ari in that direction.

“Emails,” Blodwen corrected with a roll of her eyes.

“Yeah, uh, good luck with that. No, we are here because I am a warlock. My familiar and I didn’t realize until we read online about you that any other warlocks had survived,” Ari explained to her.

“We are called witches now,” Latarian corrected and walked back to take her seat on one of the dark blue sofas, clearly she had lost all interest in their visitors.

“I am King Aleksander. It’s nice to meet you Ari and you as well Derwin.” Aleksander shook the hands of the two men and then introduced them to the remainder of their family. He explained the D’Vaire aversion to using their royal titles, asking them to call them all by their names only.

“So, you are a witch. Have you been in hiding? Latarian and Ayden were in an enchanted cottage since the war began.” Aleksander was undoubtedly as curious about their story as Brogan was, he asked the question as soon as Noirin had brought in plates of fruit and cookies and bottles of juice and water.

“When the war began my parents forced me to hide. I started off in a small cottage, but I lost patience waiting for them to tell me it was okay to come home, so I returned and found everyone dead. I knew if the cwylld elven knew I was alive they would kill me like all the other warlocks, so I hid. I figured out how to mask my magic for short periods of time, so I was able to mix with humans, but I could never stay in one place for long. I was extremely excited to find out that I’m not alone. I was hoping you could contact the council on my behalf; I would really like to stop running from place to place,” Ari revealed.

Brogan looked down at his mate and saw the compassion on his face for the witch’s plight. He knew that if Ayden had his way Ari and Derwin would soon call themselves part of the D’Vaire family.

“I would be happy to contact the emperor. If you’d like, I could ask his permission for you to stay here with us.” Aleksander was clearly of the same mind as his mate.

Ari and Derwin wore matching brilliant smiles as Ari replied, “Thank you, we would be honored.”

“Aleksander, I feel I must caution you. We do not even know them. Do you think it is wise to invite them to live with us?” Latarian asked from her spot on the couch.

“We know them just as well as we knew you when you arrived and Aleksander invited you to stay,” Brogan reminded her. Her only response to Brogan’s statement was to aim a very dirty look in his direction.

After dinner, that night Brogan was once again headed to the living room with Aleksander to hang out with their family, including their newest additions. This time they were coming from the direction of Aleksander’s office, Brogan and Aleksander had just finished up the paperwork to make Ari and Derwin official D’Vaires. Aleksander had also caught him up on all the details of
his talk with Emperor Chrysander. Apparently the emperor had been more than thrilled to add the witch and his familiar to Court D’Vaire, and had suggested to Aleksander that they consider turning their home into a sanctuary.

Brogan had offered his best friend a scowl in response when Aleksander had passed on that tidbit of information. While he was fine helping any witches that were in hiding and showed up on their doorstep, he still wasn’t interested in risking his mate or anyone else in their family to any stranger the council wanted them to house.

“That is a beautiful ring you wear. Does it signify something special?” Brogan heard Ari ask his mate as he arrived in the most popular room in the house.

“Yes, it is a mating ring. It is a tradition amongst shifters,” Ayden offered.

“But you’re a familiar, right?” the question was from an adorably confused Derwin; Brogan decided he was becoming a softie where familiars were concerned.

“Yes, he is a familiar just like you, but he is also my mate and as you know I am a shifter,” Brogan informed him, as he sat next to Ayden and hauled him into his lap.

“A familiar mated to a dragon shifter. That is cool and most certainly a historical first,” Ari said, leaning back on his elbows where he rested on the floor with a smile.

“I think it’s awesome. I thought I was going to have to mate with one of those mage thingies because hardly anybody else has familiars anymore!” Derwin gave a shiver of disgust while Brogan shared an amused glance with the man in his arms. It had not been that long ago that Brogan had lumped his mate in that whole “thingie” category.
