The last part of the journey she made on the back of Drew’s bike. She had to admit she loved riding with them. Hopefully they would do it more often once she was living with them.

They pulled into the drive around five that afternoon. Carly was tired and found she had spaghetti legs. The guys kept her between them as they walked inside the house. She sank on the couch, grateful for the comfortable cushions.

“That was the most fun I’ve ever had on a weekend trip. Thanks, guys.” She sighed then leaned back and closed her eyes.

“Oh no you don’t, Carly girl.” Ranger grabbed her up and danced her around the room for a second. “You can’t go to sleep yet. You’ve still got to go home. Not that we don’t want you to stay with us, but you work tomorrow.”

“I know.” She sighed and wished she already lived with them.

“Let’s get you something to eat. That will wake you up.”

Carly laughed and agreed with him. She walked into the kitchen to explore what she might fix for them to eat.

“What are you doing?” Drew asked when he walked into the room.

“Trying to figure out what to make for dinner.” She explored their fridge in hopes of getting an idea.

“Forget that. I say we get something on the way to taking you back to your place.”

“Really, I don’t mind fixing something here.” She smiled at him.

“I know, baby. But I’d rather spend a little more time with you. Can’t do that if you’re busy cooking. Come in the living room.”

Carly admitted defeat and followed Drew into the living room. Ranger was just coming down the stairs. At his raised eyebrow, Carly laughed.

“Drew won’t let me cook. We’re going out to get something to eat on the way to my place.”

“Sounds good to me.” He took her hand and kissed it.

Drew settled her on the couch between them and turned on the TV. Carly squirmed on the couch. She needed to talk to them about her moving in with them, but was nervous. Should she bring it up, or let them? What if they didn’t want to push her and didn’t do it?

Evidently Ranger noticed she was antsy because he laid a hand on her knee and looked at her with a question in his eyes.

“Um, guys. Can we talk about my moving in with you?”

Drew stilled and reached for the remote. He turned down the TV and shifted so he was facing her. Ranger stroked her knee with his hand.

“What did you want to talk about, baby?” Drew asked.

“Well, I’ve been thinking a lot about it. The idea scares me a little bit because it is a big step for me. I’ll be giving up my apartment and some of my independence. I don’t like the idea of being dependent on anyone.”

“You’re not a dependent kind of person, honey. I get that.” Ranger squeezed her knee reassuringly.

“The thing is, I’ve fallen in love with the two of you—each of you. The way I feel about you, Drew, is different from how I feel about Ranger.”

“We love you, too, baby,” Drew assured her.

“I can feel your love when you touch me or look at me. I wanted you to feel my love, but I guess I’m so nervous about talking to you like this, that I’m not showing you how I feel.” She took a deep breath and forged ahead.

“I want to move in with you. I pay my share of things, though.”

Ranger growled, but Drew gave him a stern look.

“Baby, we want you with us any way you’ll come. The house is paid for so all there is to worry with is food and utilities. You can help with the food, but I refuse to let you pay part of the utilities when we’ve been paying all along.”

“Ranger?” She turned and looked at him.

“Okay,” he finally said. “I don’t want to fuck this up by being greedy.” He pulled her into his arms and kissed her.

She wallowed in his arms, enjoying the feel of him rubbing against her body. His mouth ravished hers with tongue, lips, and teeth. A few seconds later, Drew was drawing her into his arms for another kiss of epic proportions. Between the two of them, she was giddy with emotion.

“So, when do we move you in?” Drew asked when he’d pulled back.

“I have to work this week, so maybe over the weekend. I’ll work on packing things up each night after work. I can use boxes from deliveries at work and grab a few from outside the liquor store down the street.”

“We can come over and help you each night,” Ranger suggested with a wag of his brows.

“Somehow I don’t think we’d get much packing done.”

“Oh, I don’t know. I think we could manage a box or two in between ravishing you.”

“I don’t think I’ll have much to move outside of my clothes and personal items. I rented the apartment furnished. The only things I worry about are all my books.”

“Baby, the office in the other room has plenty of empty shelf space. We rarely spend time in there except to pay bills, so that room can be yours.” Drew squeezed her hand. “Anything else?”

  “I guess that’s really all. I can’t believe I’m doing this.”

  “Why not?” Ranger asked.

“I just never dreamed I’d fall in love, much less with two men.”

“We need to discuss the possibility of your losing your job, baby. I don’t want that to be a problem between us. Are you sure this is what you want to do?”

“Drew, what the fuck are you doing?” Ranger’s face took on a dark quality.

“It’s okay, Ranger. He’s right. I have to be ready for that contingency. It is a very real possibility.” She licked her lips and realized the men watched her do it. “I’ve come to terms with the fact that people are going to look down on me for moving in with you, but it doesn’t matter. I want you both in my life, and I’m willing to put up with their narrow-mindedness if you are.”

“Oh, baby. We’ll do everything in our power to make you happy. You’ll never want for anything.” Ranger stood up and pulled her to her feet.

Carly laughed when he swung her into his arms and danced her around the room in his version of a waltz. Drew took over, twirling her on the other side of the couch. Once she was good and dizzy, they both pulled her into their arms and squeezed her between them.

“You’ve made us the happiest men alive.” Drew kissed her soundly on the lips.

“You act like we’re getting married or something.” She laughed.

“That’s the next step, baby,” Ranger pointed out.

Carly stilled in their arms and looked up at him. He smiled down into her eyes.

“Don’t look surprised, baby. We want you forever. But we realize you need time to get used to us and living with us first. Take all the time you want, but in the end, we’ll marry you.”

She didn’t know what to say. They were thinking ahead of her. She was just making a commitment to moving in with them. Marriage opened up a whole new can of worms. Something must have shown on her face, because Drew punched Ranger on the arm with a scowl on his face.

“Hey, it’s okay, guys. Don’t fight about it. I’m just bowled over. I wasn’t thinking as far ahead as you two obviously are. Give me some time to come to grips with living with two men first.”

“We’ve got all the time in the world. Now that you’re going to be with us, we can start working on forever.” Drew kissed her again and growled at Ranger when the other man pulled her away from him.

“Let’s go get something to eat, guys. I need to get back to the apartment and get ready for work tomorrow.”

They locked up the house and rode to a fast-food restaurant to get burgers and fries. Then they dropped her off at her place after walking her up to the apartment and making sure she was safely inside.

Carly quickly prepared for work and climbed into the bed later that night to the knowledge that she was really going to take the plunge and move in with the guys. Despite thinking she was too keyed up to sleep, Carly soon succumbed.

  * * * *

Early the next morning, Carly hurried outside
to climb into her car to go to work. She stopped short when Jim stood by her car with a smug smile on his face.

  “What do you want, Jim?”

“Are you breaking up with those two assholes now that you might lose your job?”

“No. I’m not. I love them. If I lose my job, then I’ll find something else. They mean more to me than the job does. Did you think you could force me to stop seeing them?”

“You won’t have any friends if you keep seeing them, Carly. You belong with me.”

Carly couldn’t believe the audacity of the man. He truly expected her to go back to him. He had to be crazy.

“Jim, I have no plans to ever see you again. I’m moving in with Ranger and Drew. You might as well stop harassing me or I will file a restraining order against you.”

“You’re moving in with them? You realize that makes you a slut. Living with two men is wrong, Carly. Don’t do it.”

“It’s too late, I’m already doing it. I’m happy and nothing you say will change my mind. I realize some people will stop being my friend and I might lose my job, but it won’t stop me from doing it. I love them. Get over it, Jim.”

He stared at her for several seconds then shook his head.

“You’re really serious. I thought we had a chance of working things out. If you want to lower yourself to being with those two perverts, then go ahead. Don’t think I’ll ever take you back. We’re through.”

Carly watched him climb into his car and pull off. She felt much better for having stood up to him. She had made him understand she was serious. She wouldn’t have any further trouble out of him. Yeah, she might lose some friends and her job, but she was gaining two wonderful men and their friends. She couldn’t ask for more.

With that, she got in her car and headed off to work. So far she still had a job, and she planned to keep doing a good job for as long as she did.

  Chapter Eighteen

The week passed quickly as Carly worked during the day and talked to the guys while she packed at night. By Saturday, she had everything boxed up with the exception of a change of clothes and her toiletries. She was totally blown away when, promptly at eight o’clock, the entire gang descended on her with two trucks to carry her things in.

Tears formed in her eyes at the close friendship the men had formed. The women gathered around her and congratulated her for moving in with Ranger and Drew. She was safely ensconced in a chair while the men busied themselves moving her things. They were careful unlike she would have expected, and treated her stuff like it was breakable china. She wasn’t allowed to do anything but point and direct.

“Are they always this bossy?” she asked no one in particular.

All the women laughed and nodded.

“But you can get around them with pouting, tearing up, or instigating sex,” Tina assured her.

Carly burst out laughing, and the women joined in. The men eyed them warily as they continued loading her things. It was obvious that they loved their wives. She felt privileged to be a part of the group now. She knew that no matter what happened, she would never be without friends.

They finished loading her up, and everyone headed for Drew and Ranger’s house. Carly tried out the word home and found it felt right. She smiled and once again directed the men with where her things went when they began to move her in.

Ranger kept coming back to her to assure that everything was okay. Drew just winked at her from time to time. He was sure of her happiness at moving in. Ranger still needed reassuring. She squeezed his hand each time he returned.

After everything had been moved, they all converged on a pizza parlor and made it a pizza party. The waitresses looked wary of them, but soon realized they weren’t going to cause any trouble. They ordered a dozen pizzas and several pitchers of beer. Carly felt a part of something spectacular and couldn’t contain her joy.

The women talked about their jobs and careers while the men discussed potential jobs for the next time they worked. Carly wasn’t surprised that the women were anxious to find out how hers was going.

“So far, so good. We’ve lost a couple of people that I know of, but the doctors haven’t acted like they’re upset with me so far.”

“Don’t worry. You’ll gain a dozen or so patients when we all need to see a dentist,” Brandy assured her.

“Thanks, guys. You don’t know how much this all means to me. Lisa is still my good friend, but you’re all like family to me.”

Hours later, after everyone had gone, they were curled up on the couch together with the TV on in the background, discussing their plans for the next day. Carly could tell Ranger was still worried that she would suddenly change her mind. She climbed into his lap and wrapped her arms around his neck.

“Hey, you. I’m here, and I’m not going anywhere. What will it take for you to believe me?”

“What do you mean?” He acted as if he hadn’t been dancing around her all day.

“You know what I mean. You act as if I’m going to up and suddenly change my mind.”

  “Will you?” he asked quietly.

  “No. I’m here to stay.”

  “Then marry us.”

  Carly hadn’t expected that.

“It’s okay. You don’t have to answer that. I shouldn’t have said anything. We weren’t going to push you.” He started to move her off his lap.

“Whoa, Ranger. Slow down.” She squeezed his shoulders so he couldn’t shift her. “Did you just ask me to marry you?”

  He looked uncomfortable. “Well, yeah.”

“You want me to marry you and live with you forever?” She looked over at Drew for his reaction.

Drew was sitting very still, a worried expression on his face. She realized they both figured she would freak out and want to leave again. Carly drew in a deep breath and prayed she was making the right choice.

  “Okay. I’ll marry you.”

Ranger’s eyes widened. He looked over at Drew.

“Did you hear that? She said yes!”

“Yeah, I heard.” He grabbed her and pulled her out of Ranger’s lap.

She squealed like a girl and laughed when he wrapped his arms around her and squeezed.

“You’ve made us the happiest men in the world, Carly. We will take care of you for the rest of our lives.”

Ranger suddenly jumped up and ran up the stairs. Carly turned a worried glance at Drew. He just shrugged then smiled. When Ranger came running down the stairs again, she watched in fascination as he got down on his knees on the floor in front of the couch. Drew turned her sideways so she could see him.

“Baby, would you do us the honor of becoming our wife?” He opened a ring box, and there sat a beautiful diamond solitaire with two blue sapphires on either side of it. There were two bands on either side of the ring.

“Oh my God! It’s beautiful!” She started crying when Drew held out her hand so that Ranger could slip the ring on her finger. He closed the box with the bands still in it and kissed her hand.

“I’ll marry you both. I love you both so much.”

“We love you, too, baby.” Drew pulled her in for a kiss.

He slipped his tongue in to mate with hers, and then pulled back and Ranger picked her up. She wrapped her legs around his waist and settled in for a kiss from him. He didn’t disappoint her. His mouth took over the kiss in an instant and deepened it without apology. She latched on to his tongue and sucked it into her mouth.

When they finally pulled apart, Carly had tears in her eyes. She was truly a part of a huge family now. It didn’t matter if she did eventually lose her job. She would always have friends.

Ranger carried her toward the stairs and she laughed at the territorial expression on his face.

“Drew, if you don’t hurry up, man, you’re going to lose out,” Ranger called over his shoulder.

When they reached the bedroom, Carly reached over Ranger’s shoulders and pulled Drew in for a kiss.

“Hey, you two, you’re choking me here.”
Ranger pretended to cough and gag as they pulled apart.

“I love you two. I can’t imagine every being anywhere else but with my men. Who would have thought I would ever have a couple of biker boyfriends, much less marry them?”

“We’ve wanted you from the beginning, baby. Never doubt our love for you.” Ranger gently sat her on the bed and knelt between her knees. “I know I acted like a jerk a few times, but it was because I was afraid you didn’t want us if we were going to be the cause of you losing your job. I was hurt and scared to let you in too close. But you were already wrapped up in my heart and soul. I couldn’t pull away from you.”

“No matter what happens about the job, it’s just a job. I can find another one. I can’t find another pair of biker boyfriends like the two of you.” She snuggled against Ranger and held Drew’s hands.

The men pulled away and began slowly undressing her. The girls were right. Instigating sex would work wonders for a wounded man’s heart.
