At Home In Corbin's Bend Page 16

The women discussed the paintings, Ever putting her arm around her best friend and stating that Violet should seriously consider it. “She sold every single painting at the festival. In fact, her sexier ones went for top dollar.”

Rob shook his head, both proud and concerned. While he didn’t think Ever should hide her lifestyle, he hoped she wasn’t purposefully attempting to provoke Monica who was still mumbling about the archaic beliefs the residents of the neighbor pursued. After a glass of wine, he suggested they retire. Once at home, her parents rushed into the makeshift guest room and Ever giggled. “Want to bet they are trying to decide if there is any way they can rescue me from the clutches of this perverted neighborhood?”

“I’ll bet that your mom is just grateful we have doors on the bedrooms and our windows are closed. Besides, there is no way they’d win. You, young lady, are mine to have and to hold, to love, and to spank.”

“Oh my God, Rob,” Ever whispered as they went into their own room. “I forgot about the ceremony. Maybe we shouldn’t...”

“Hell no. I’ve been looking forward to making you my wife for a long time, Everleigh, and I’ve truly looked forward to giving you a proper Corbin’s Bend wedding.”

Ever stood in front of the mirror as Tory adjusted her veil. Catherine brushed away tears at the sight of her eldest daughter. She was a vision - her auburn hair arranged at the nape of her neck in a loose chignon, tendrils curled to frame her face. The veil hung to the floor, following the train of the dress. The dress fit like a dream. Hundreds of tiny pearls covered the bodice, the sweetheart neckline enhancing Ever’s breasts. Her bare shoulders were pale and smooth. Catherine and Daniel had presented her with a pearl necklace that her mother had worn at her own wedding. The skirt flowed from the empire waist, yards and yards of chiffon floating around a satin skirt, tiny pearls scattered throughout the layers.

“You look like an angel,” Catherine said. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a lovelier dress.”

“Thanks, Mom,” Ever said. “Tory is incredible. She designed it and made it, every bead was sewn on by her.”

“Well, I’m still not so sure about this entire spanking thing, but it’s obvious that very talented people live here. I have never seen you so relaxed and so happy. In the end, that’s what matters. I know we don’t always see eye to eye, but I love you, Everleigh. All I want is for you to be happy.”

Ever felt the first of many tears fill her eyes. “I am, Mom. I’ve never been happier and can’t imagine living anywhere else. We aren’t just residents. We’re all neighbors and most especially friends.”

Catherine gave her a hug, taking care not to crush her veil or her dress. She kissed her cheek and then smiled. “Just promise you won’t tell your sister if your voice ever joins that orchestra. You know how she can be.”

“Mom!” Ever said and then giggled. “Okay, I won’t but thanks for understanding,” Ever promised and then it was time. She watched as Violet walked down the aisle, escorted by Charles. She smiled as Amber began to walk and gently scatter the rose petals that had been placed in her little basket. When the music changed to the wedding march, she took a deep breath.

“Ready, sweetheart?” Daniel asked, squeezing her hand that was in the crook of his elbow.

“Oh, yes, Daddy, I’ve never been more ready.”

The congregation stood as one, turning to watch as Ever walked down the aisle. Ever wasn’t aware of a single one of them. Her eyes hadn’t left Rob’s since he first captured her gaze. He stood waiting, tall and proud in his tux, the smile on his lips just for her. Ever’s love for this man shone from her eyes as she accepted a kiss from her father when he placed her hand in Rob’s.

They had chosen a traditional ceremony, Father Henry Beauchamp, rector of St. Michael’s parish, leading them through their vows. Ever’s voice was strong and clear as she promised to love, honor and obey her husband. Rob’s voice was husky as he promised to love, honor and cherish her for as long as he lived. The rings were exchanged and then Rob looked down at his new wife, his smile turning into a grin that had her face flushing as she giggled.

The solemn atmosphere changed as their friends and neighbors began to hoot and holler, calling out encouragement as Rob turned his wife around and bent her over his thigh. Ever laughed at the sound of Monica’s gasp as Rob’s hand connected to his bride’s bottom, giving her the first spanking as Mrs. Robert Montgomery. The crowd laughed and applauded, calling out suggestions and best wishes. Ever had a beautifully flushed face when he lifted her up in his arms and carried her down the aisle. It had been a proper Corbin’s Bend wedding.

Grateful that his new in-laws had moved to stay overnight with Venia, Rob stood in the door of their bedroom, his eyes wide. Lit candles stood on every surface and rose petals covered the quilt. However, that wasn’t what captured and held his attention.

“My God, you’re beautiful,” he whispered, stepping forward and then looking over his shoulder to where his wife stood. He held out his hand and when she took it, he pulled her to the bed. “I’ve never seen a masterpiece that’s more beautiful than this one.” Ever’s blush told him of her guilty pleasure in his reaction to the painting.

“How in the hell did you two do this and keep it a secret?” he asked looking to the painting and to his wife and back again. “God, it is so perfect - it looks exactly like you, and,”—he grinned as he pulled her to him, his hands dropping to cup her bottom— “it has got to be one of my all time favorite poses.”

“One of mine too,” Ever admitted softly.

He could feel his wife quivering in his palms as they looked at the painting together. Violet had indeed captured her in a moment of beauty. Ever was bent over the kitchen table, wearing the robe Rob had brought her from Singapore. The vibrant colors of the monarch butterfly seemed ready to take flight. One side of the gown was lifted to reveal her right bottom cheek, the skin blushed as if the paddle that was laying on the table had just been set down after being applied to Ever’s bottom. It was erotic without being lewd and it was beautiful in that the look in Ever’s eyes shone as if lit from within with the love she had for the man who accepted and treasured her gift of submission. Rob felt incredibly honored that this incredible woman gave everything she had to him. It was something he would cherish for the rest of his life.

Ever gasped as her husband reached to undress her. The gorgeous gown slid to the floor. Rob ran his fingers over her taut nipples after removing her bra, leaving her in nothing but the sexy white panties.

Rob stroked her arms softly and then pulled her to him. “I love you, Mrs. Montgomery.”

“Show me, Mr. Montgomery,” she whispered and he did.

  Epilogue

Six months later, Rob thought he might be at death’s door. He looked up and heard a roaring in his ears. As he staggered forward, he also heard laughter.

“What’s the matter, old man, marriage making you soft?” John flung his arm around Rob’s shoulder the moment he crossed the finish line, not seeming to care that both of them were covered head to toe in mud. Rob gasped and then drank an entire bottle of water before he could speak.

“Hell, I’m too freaking old for this.” They turned and began to shout encouragement to the rest of their team, all managing to finish the course, all laughing and ribbing each other as they stood, arms around each other as their photo was taken. They hadn’t come in first - heck, they had come in almost dead last, but that didn’t matter. What mattered was that they had all trained together and all finished as a team.

Their wives screeched, arms out threatening all sorts of horrible deaths if the men so much as touched them. Skin was covered, clothes slick with mud, their team numbers hidden under the muck. The men toed off their sneakers, dropping them into a growing pile. It had become a tradition that if you managed to finish with your shoes, as a great deal had been sucked off feet in the mud pits, you left them at the race. They would be cleaned and donated in the name of the race.

The men showered and changed, emerging looking more like men instead of alien creatures. John and Rob found their wives waiting and both grinned.

“Speaking of soft,” Rob teased as he wrapped his arms around his very pregnant wife as John did the same to Tory. Dr. Marcus had laughed with pleasure when he told Ever that she wasn’t ill - explaining that her dizzy spells and sudden aversion to certain foods would most likely cure itself in about seven months. Though they hadn’t been expecting to become parents so soon, neither could be happier. Sharing the pregnancy with Tory and John, both women due within a month of the other, was going to be so much fun.

Ever kissed her husband and smiled as he dropped a kiss on the mound of her stomach. Life wasn’t always fair and it definitely tossed out challenges. However, as long as there were people like those who shared her life, as long as there was love, her hope for a better world would be everlasting.

  Chapter 1

For a man with a brand new baby at home, Beau Davies was in no hurry to get there. As Vice Principal of Corbin’s Bend Middle School, there was always work to be done, and a reason to stay late if he was looking for one.

  He was.

It was the first day back after Spring Break, and for the first time ever in his life, he was almost dreading going home. His gut clenched with guilt at the realization of this ugly truth. He glanced at the clock and frowned. He would stay just one more hour, and he would pick up dinner from Endelé on the way home. There really was quite a bit of work to catch up on, and six o’clock was a reasonable hour to get home, even if school got out at three.

Besides, he reasoned with himself, with the break, he had just spent nine straight days at home, for all the good it had done. His marriage was more strained than ever, and Ginger was so obsessed with taking care of their baby daughter, Hazel, he couldn’t help even if he wanted to. She wouldn’t let him.

He apparently was totally inept when it came to taking care of a baby. Never mind the fact that he was the oldest of seven children whose parents had basically considered him to be their built in babysitter from the time he was ten until the day he left for college. Never mind that he had degrees in childhood education, or even, most simply of all, that he was Hazel’s father. According to his wife, he didn’t burp her right, didn’t change her diaper right, didn’t know the correct way to put her to sleep, Hell, according to Ginger, he didn’t even hold her right!

It seemed that no one was at all capable at caring for baby Hazel, except for Ginger herself. And that’s what she did. All day, every day. It had gotten to the point where she did little else. And that was the most worrisome of all.

Ginger was a control freak. She always had been, and he loved it about her, and he had always known what to do when her overbearing ways became too much. After all, they lived in Corbin’s Bend. When his little control freak became too much to handle, he simply flipped her over his knee and put an end to her nonsense with a long, hard spanking. It was The Corbin’s Bend way.

To an outsider, such an idea might seem crazy, or archaic, but Domestic Discipline had always been a part of their relationship, and it was the reason they had moved here when they decided they were ready to start a family. Corbin’s Bend was an exclu
sive co-op community that catered to spankophiles. Here they were no different than anyone else, and everyone practiced spanking in their relationship in some form or another. When you moved in, you were even assigned a mentor to help you acclimate to the community and help you navigate troubles within the lifestyle, if you needed it. So far, Beau never had, and his relationship with his mentor had been a superficial one.

That last thought had him stopping to consider. Maybe it was time to change that. His mentor, Jason Rolson, was an older man in his early seventies, with decades of experience living in a DD relationship, probably even had special insight into the type of thing Beau and Ginger were going through. Even if he didn’t, it wouldn’t hurt to ask.

Beau felt bad that he hadn’t really asked the older man for help with anything DD related up to this point, but he truly hadn’t needed to. Ginger had always been so in control of everything, their home and lives had run like a well-oiled machine. Unlike some couples in Corbin’s Bend, who had to use a spanking to enforce anything from an eye roll, to a messy house, to a speeding ticket, they had almost never used it for anything but Ginger’s controlling attitude.

And now, well, he most certainly still needed it for that, but he was coming to the realization that their DD relationship was at a point where it was in need of a complete overhaul. They were beyond simply dealing with control issues. His once on top of every little thing wife was a complete wreck, and it didn’t seem to be getting better. To further complicate things, they had been on a break from domestic discipline for almost six months.
