“Screw you, Ade. A lifetime of friendship and this is what you do with it? If Jess has any sense, she’ll be done with you. You’re an evil bastard, Ade.”
Jay turns and storms back to the apartment. Ade stands there realising he let his temper talk him out of his best friend. And as that sinks in, he crumbles and sits on the floor, alone, crying.
Chapter Ten
Luka
Luka finishes the concert and feels a stab of sadness as he looks at Jess’ empty seat. Jess and her friends left during the second half. He feels like he has been stabbed in the heart. He realises he should have predicted betrayal, should have known he would be hurt it still feels like a slap in the face. As he leaves via the stage door a feeling of defeat overwhelming him a man approaches him.
“Luka?”
“That’s me.” He looks vaguely familiar.
“I’m Jay, Jess’ friend.”
Luka, now rethinking his thoughts on betrayal, senses there is a bigger issue here. “Hi, what’s wrong? Where is Jess?”
“Her ex was here, she said she told you about him?” Luka nods and Jay continues, “She needed to get some space, but she is waiting for you at your place. She asked me to let you know so that you didn’t think she had run off.” He looks at Luka with a very serious expression etched on his face--clearly tired and not in the mood for any arguments.
Luka smiles, genuinely grateful to this man who doesn’t know him. Placing his cello case on the ground beside him for a moment he shakes Jay’s hand. “Thank you, Jay.”
“Look after her,” is all Jay says before leaving.
Luka smiles, realising he likes that man; a straight talker. He cares about Jess, is protective of her and wants her to be happy. Luka respects that.
As for her ex-boyfriend showing up, on her birthday of all nights... Luka doesn’t even have words for how angry that makes him. The fact it upset her enough that she left the concert shows that this guy still has some sway over her, which is worrying. Luka thinks about the fact he is falling in love with this woman, and how protective he feels of her, how angry it makes him that this other man has come in and caused her upset. A man who not so long ago broke her heart.
Luka walks back to the apartment building and on the way picks up some takeaway for the two of them, sure that Jess will be hungry. After all the playing he is starving, and after an emotional evening, she must be as well. He rides the elevator to their floor; the door opens, and he takes a step out, lifting his head - and gasps and stops. Sitting outside of his door is Jess.
“What are you doing there?” he asks as he approaches, leaning his cello against the door so that he can bend down to lift her up.
“Waiting for you. I’m sorry I left,” she says, unsure of herself, holding back.
“It’s OK, Jay told me why. I get it.” He pulls her into his arms. “What do you say we go eat and salvage our evening?” He lifts the bag of food he has and wafts it in a tempting manner with a cheeky grin on his face.
“I’d like that.” She looks up, their eyes lock, and she smiles before he unlocks the door and carries his cello and the food inside leading her behind him.
“Come on then, let’s eat.” He puts his cello down where he keeps it and then goes to dish up the food so that they can sit to have dinner.
They chat through the meal, and she tells him how wonderful what she saw of the concert was.
“When I saw you on that stage it made me so proud, it took my feelings about your playing to a whole new level and I desperately want to see you play again, so I can stay until the end this time.” As she finishes talking he feels a lump in grow in his throat because despite his reservations he wants to have this, to have someone care, and he feels deeply touched by her words.
“I have something for you, for your birthday,” he tells her, and takes out a small box. She gasps and looks at him, her hands over her mouth.
Jess’ fingers are trembling as she picks the box up. She carefully opens it and gasps when she reaches what is inside: a necklace with a cello on it, made up of pink Swarovski crystals.
“It’s beautiful, Luka. Would you help me put it on?”
Luka stands and crosses the few steps separating them. “I wanted to give you something to remind you of us,” he says brushing his fingers along her neck making her shiver. “I really like being with you, Pinky,” he says, terrified of his honesty.
“I really like being with you, too, Luka. Thank you so much for the necklace. It will remind me of you every day.” She wanders to the mirror in his bedroom and admires it around her neck, making Luka get a twinge of emotion deep in his chest he wasn’t expecting.
He sweeps over to where she’s standing and presses his lips to hers for a strong, hard kiss full of passion and love. When he pulls away they are both breathless.
“Pinky, there’s more.” His mouth tilts up in a smirk, his dimples deepening, his eyes sparkling as he begins to reveal Jess’ birthday surprise.
“Really?” She looks shocked and puts her hand to her mouth.
He leads her to the lounge where he sits her in an armchair, takes a silk scarf and places it over her eyes so that she can’t see anything. She curls her feet under her, the split in her dress riding high on her thigh, making a lump form in Luka’s throat and his pants.
“You know, if I had known we were playing bondage games I would have dressed differently,” she says making him laugh out loud, followed by a kiss, and a shush.
“Not today, we can definitely do that another day, beautiful,” he whispers, sending a visible shiver down her spine.
Luka stops at a nearby chair and removes all his clothes. He has a moment of doubt where he questions if he should actually be doing this, his decision is that he wants their first time to not only be special but memorable and what he has planned will not only be that, it will also be perfect and joining.
Once Luka is completely naked, he picks up his cello and sits on his stool opposite Jess and starts playing. Wanting to go for a different feel, he plays Apocalyptica’s Faraway, a romantic yet heart-breaking piece full of long notes and pauses. He normally closes his eyes to play, this time though he keeps them open and concentrates on Jess. He sees the effect he is having on her; she becomes agitated, fidgeting in the chair. Her hands keep reaching to the blindfold, then dropping down again; she shifts position so that her feet are no longer tucked beneath her and instead are now dangling. She can’t keep them still.
“Luka?” she pleads, her voice barely audible, her hands gripping the blindfold. He chuckles deep in his throat, never expecting to affect her so thoroughly, so soon.
“Take it off,” is all he says. As she tears the blindfold off and sees the truth of the situation--Luka naked behind his cello. She gasps, and a huge smile spreads across her face.
“Happy Birthday Me.” She giggles nervously. And Luka smiles at her, switching his current piece to the Happy Birthday song. Ending it simply with, “Happy Birthday, Pinky.”
He goes back to playing normally and he must admire her restraint because she sits there for quite some time, licking her lips and watching him play. Eventually she breaks, standing up and walking across the room.
She takes his cello from him and places it on the stand. Then she stands a little too far in front of him, a smirk on her face.
Dropping her dress straps off her shoulders, she slowly lets her dress fall to the floor, and as it does, Luka’s face falls into a stunned yet very happy gaze. It’s clear Jess had her own ideas for tonight, quite like his. She’s wearing a pink basque. It has lace over much of her body and it’s clinging to her curves, with suspenders attached to stockings, and when she turns around she is wearing it with a thong. Luka is almost undone there and then.
She steps forward and kneels between Luka’s legs, taking the place of his cello. Jess places her hands which are shaking with nerves on
his thighs and leans forward to kiss his chest, working her way down, taking her time to kiss every bit of his chest, not leaving anything untouched.
When Jess reaches his shaft, she runs her tongue around the tip and a growl comes out of Luka’s throat. She wraps her lips around the head, and he sucks in air in a gasping breath that feels like the most amazing thing in the world. Jess slowly takes him further into her mouth using her tongue as he goes deeper, adjusting her position so she takes him as deep as he will go. His voice catches as he tries to say something, which he forgets as she starts to pump; his hands become entangled in her hair, her hands are grabbing his ass, and it takes only a few long smooth thrusts for him to come deep in her throat.
As she stands, Luka pulls her back to him so she is straddling his lap. He is overwhelmed by how sexy she is, as they come together for a deep kiss, and he only thinks she gets sexier as he tastes himself on her lips.
He pulls back from the kiss, breathless. “I thought it was your birthday, but that was a hell of a gift for me.” His smirk is playing at his lips as his nose brushes against hers.
“Seeing you behind that cello was the best gift you could give me.” Her voice is incredibly husky, and he knows she must be as turned on as he is. Her whole body is shaking, and he knows that he needs to be gentle and not push her.
“I can’t get over how incredibly sexy you look in this.” He pulls her in for a lingering and passionate kiss, taking the time to explore her mouth while his hands take in her body. The basque adds to the sexiness of her curves, and it’s making Luka feel incredibly aroused.
Pulling away from the kiss he starts to release the stockings, rolling them down her legs, kissing as he goes, before moving up to release the straps on the basque so that he frees her body. “I can’t tell you how fucking beautiful you are.”
He keeps her straddled over him and while his mouth is feasting on her breasts he takes his fingers to her opening and slowly and gently explores, gauging her response with his touch massaging her clitoris as she throws her head back, barely able to contain herself since her nerves are starting to dissipate. “Do you like that Pinky?” Her moan in response is like an instant aphrodisiac to Luka, his dick standing to attention, his mouth locking on Jess’ neck, sucking and biting.
As he inserts his fingers into her warm, wet folds. Her whole body trembles and she grips his shoulders, wrapping her legs around his back, pulling the pair together in a bonding way as he manipulates her from the inside out. An orgasm takes her, and he feels her muscles contracting as she comes over his fingers; the scream that rips from her mouth is barely restrained, her eyes glittering with tears.
“Now, Luka, I want you now,” she begs in his ear, and he smiles.
“We’re only getting started, Pinky.” He stands, and she wraps her legs tighter around his waist. They walk to the bedroom as one, kissing the whole way.
When Luka reaches the bed, he gently lays her down on his midnight black sheets and she looks up at him expectantly.
“Is it time?” she asks.
“Yes, Pinky, I’m going to love you all night.” And she smiles at him, that smile which could make or break him.
He turns, and she sits up quickly. “Where are you going?”
“Just getting condoms, love.” He smiles at her concern.
“You don’t need to, I have an implant, we are OK.”
He frowns at her. “Are you sure?”
She nods, and he strides quickly back to her, wrapping her in his arms, kissing her passionately, feeling her breasts in his hands; such a perfect size. The way she responds as he touches her, and her new necklace glistening on her naked body: a reminder of who they are as a couple.
He takes his kisses and moves them slowly down her body, along her arms. Onto her breasts, nipping and sucking her nipples. Kissing a path down her stomach, onto her thighs and down her legs. Luka doesn’t leave anywhere untouched finishing with her clitoris which he runs his tongue over as Jess moans while gripping the blanket in her hands, her eyelids fluttering. He delves his tongue in deeper, tasting Jess completely and ensuring he gives her the best possible outcome. As his tongue plays with her she breaks, and he feels her body fully react to him while her hands move to his hair, scrunching it up while she screams and her body throbs.
Jess puts her hand around Luka’s cock, it’s so big and ready for her. “I don’t want to wait anymore, Luka.” She smiles and then guides him to her entrance. It takes all his willpower to not push all the way in. Luka takes things slow, he wants Jess to enjoy every single second. Their eyes are locked; he knows he asks her more than once if she is OK. She pulls his face to hers, kisses him long and deep, their rhythm growing into something hot and frantic. “I’ve never felt anything like this Pinky,” he tells her, his mind is blown away.
He has hardly started to move, and Jess starts to convulse and moan; he kisses her, this beautiful girl with such a strong orgasm. Once she is finished she smiles at him in shock, and he continues increasing his tempo until he’s ready to come. As Luka comes, Jess has another orgasm and they clutch each other as they both go through the moment, then lay tangled in each other’s arms afterwards, not speaking yet completely enamoured with how they have joined themselves. Luka is left feeling overwhelmed by the emotions washing over him and the need to take Jess in his arms and never let her go.
It takes some time, but, kissing Jess on top of her head, he is eventually able to speak.
“Happy Birthday, sweetheart.” He kisses her more deeply and intends to follow through on his promise to make love to her all night.

Watching Jess as she sleeps, Luka takes in her closed eyes, her nose squashed against his chest, her mouth slightly open and her breath warming him, sending bolts of electricity through his body. Her arm is wrapped around his torso, holding him tight, her legs weaving through his. Every thought in his head as he watches her with the sun rising outside is that this girl is forever, and it terrifies him.
Chapter Eleven
Jess
Late Saturday morning she wakes up fully sated after a night of making love to Luka and she can’t help the smile which spreads across her face as she remembers how he made her feel completely special. They get up and as she looks around for her dress completely unaware where it ended up last night, Luka tosses one of his shirts instead. As she pulls it over her head, his musky smell hitting her from the fabric, his arms circle her waist pulling her tightly against him.
“I think you should wear my shirts all the time, you look incredibly sexy,” he murmurs in her ear, sending chills down her spine. She twists in his arms so that she is facing him, lifting onto tiptoes. It crosses her mind that this shirt was a sneaky ploy on his part as she places a tender kiss on his lips before whispering in his ear, “That may be so, handsome, but I’m starving. You killed all my reserves off last night. I need to refuel.” She then laughs and skips into his kitchen hearing his frustrated groan behind her.
As they sit down to eat and drink a lot of coffee they fall into a lovely routine; her legs are up on his knees and they keep looking at each other and smiling. Luka finishes his food and pushes the plate back towards the centre of the table. He starts rubbing her feet, his hands like magic weapons turning her into putty. Then he turns to Jess with a more serious expression on his face.
“What exactly happened with Ade last night?” Well, there goes the relaxed atmosphere.
“Nothing really.” Jess doesn’t want to talk about this, but the look on Luka’s face says he does and she knows she owes him an explanation for leaving his concert.
“He upset you enough that you left halfway through. That is something.”
“The way he approached me, as though we were old friends. It shook me up, made me feel inadequate. He reminded me of how worthless I used to feel, and I started to believe it again. I felt like I wasn’t worth your attent
ion. Then when I saw him watching me from his seat I couldn’t bear it, like an unwanted touch, so I ran.” She shivers at the memory of Ade’s eyes caressing her from a distance and instinctively puts her hand up to clutch the necklace Luka had given her the night before feeling a sense of calm wash over her.
Luka pulls his chair closer to hers, leaning in so their eyes are as close as possible.
“I’m the only person who decides who is worthy of me. You are smart and funny and sexy. I will tell you that every minute of every day if I need to. Don’t let someone who treated you badly once ruin what we are building now.”
How does Luka always say exactly the right thing? He makes Jess feel so special; she doesn’t deserve that much love and support but somehow, though, she is getting it.
“I wanted to kill him last night when Jay told me he was pestering you. I never feel like that, like a caveman. I was so angry, all I wanted was to protect you; and I will, Pinky, I will do whatever you need me to do, remember that, OK?” He looks at her so seriously, a look in his eyes she has never seen before, protective. She nods, and he hugs her hard and long.
“But, what about that agreement that we were just a fling?” Jess asks, feeling unsure of herself, looking into her lap.
“Do you think that’s all we are after last night?” Luka lifts her chin up, gazing into her eyes and taking her breath. She quickly shakes her head before he continues. “We might have both been trying to avoid this, but we are here. I’m invested, I care, and I want you.” Luka always finds the words that put her mind at ease and make her feel safe and loved. Except now she is terrified to tell him that she feels the same.
“I... I’m in, Luka,” she says, her voice barely above a whisper.
“Really? No doubts, nothing you are unsure of?” he asks scattering kisses across her face.
Jess shakes her head. “No, you’ve made me happier than I’ve been in a long time. I want to see where this goes.”
