“Where’s my sister?” Forever walked past Marcellus.
He was on one of the barstools scrolling on Goody’s laptop. He looked at her while she leaned over all the food Goody had prepared to see if there was anything she could eat.
“She ran to Walmart to get you some lemonade,” he practically mumbled because he surely hadn’t said it loud enough for anyone to hear.
“She didn’t have to do that.”
“She said you’d say that, which is why she tried to leave before you got out here to stop her.”
Marcellus was speaking to her but hadn’t made eye contact yet. Forever could tell that was on purpose. Even with him slouched back casually on the stool, his head was cast down, and his eyes hadn’t left the screen once since she’d been facing him.
“I’m going to kill her for leaving me here with you.”
“Why?”
“You’re a stranger.”
“To you, not her.”
“Which is why I said I’m going to kill her for leaving me. You could do anything to me,” Forever taunted, trying to make him look at her. She succeeded.
“I wouldn’t.”
His short answers reminded her of their conversation from her party. She’d had to do most of the talking then too because he didn’t really say much. It was clear by the way he watched her and leaned in closer to hear her while she spoke that he was listening, but he still didn’t 0ffer much feedback.
“Are you always this short when talking to people? Or is it just new people?”
“It’s everyone. I’m not much of a talker.”
Forever walked over and leaned on the counter next to him. “You weren’t quiet last night.”
His breathing changed, and he began to rub his chain, not verbally acknowledging her comment. His calm demeanor and collected persona intrigued Forever. He had such a mysterious way about himself, and even though she wasn’t big on entertaining men, it made her want to be in his presence. And anything she wanted to do, she did.
With the two of them alone in the house, there was no reason for them not to talk, so Forever continued trying to spark conversation. The key to it all was when she walked around the counter and slid one of her long legs across his lap and pulled the rest of her body on top of him until she was comfortable in his lap. Marcellus’ hands went to her bare legs immediately. Again, he eyed her with no reservations.
“You don’t need to be on me like this,” he breathed against her neck.
“Why not?” Forever asked innocently. “You liked it last night.”
Marcellus’ eyes closed, and he gritted his teeth. Forever watched the way his breathing changed as he fought not to remember her being in the exact same position with him the night before. She’d ridden him until her legs grew tired and proceeded to grind her small hips until his release after that.
“You don’t like me on you?” Forever rubbed her fingers across his eyebrows. “You told me I felt good.” She sensually pecked his mouth.
“You do.” He sounded tortured as he finally made eye contact.
“You’re not acting like it.”
Marcellus’ hand was so big that it nearly circled her whole neck when he grabbed it and pulled her head to his mouth. The hunger in his kiss gave her a sense of profound love and protection. She felt so admired and valuable in his grip. The way he held her and delivered affection in various ways made Forever feel like she’d been in love with him before. Maybe in another lifetime, they’d been together.
“Believe me, my girl, I want to do so much to you right now.”
“So, do it.” Forever grabbed his face and pressed her lips into his again.
“What about your sister?” The thickness of his eyebrows scrunched together, almost touching in the middle.
Forever stared down at him, trying to figure out how a man of his stature could give off such an innocent vibe. It had been the same way at his house the night before. He seemed to be so vulnerable and open that it momentarily shocked Forever. In public, in front of everyone else, he seemed so domineering and self-assured, but when it came down to her and him and their sex, he’d been so meek. Pretty much letting her take control of everything.
It had been a major turn on for Forever, and it still was, which was why she was trying her hardest not to take it there with him right then. He was right. Goody would be back soon, and the last thing she needed was to have her all in her and Marcellus’ business when Forever still didn’t know herself what they were doing.
“I thought you wanted to keep us a secret.” He waited until their lips were mere inches apart to lick his own.
The slither of his tongue made Forever shiver.
“I do.”
Marcellus reached up like he was about to touch one of her breasts but pulled his hand away again. By the way he stared at them, it was clear he wanted to touch them. Why he didn’t was beyond her. Because she wanted him to feel free with her, she grabbed his hand and put it on her. As soon as she did, he massaged her in the most suggestive way. Forever moved around on his lap, holding onto his shoulders for support.
“Damn, my girl,” he groaned.
Every time he called her that, Forever blushed. It didn’t help that he was still very much enthralled with her body and the way it felt in his hands. Her breath heightened as she allowed him to grope her. His large hand covered her entire breast with little effort. She momentarily felt self-conscious when she looked down and noticed it.
Her hand on top of his stopped his movement. “Do you think they’re too small?”
Marcellus lifted the bottom of her shirt, exposing her. “Let me see for myself.” He lowered his head and grabbed one of her nipples into his mouth. He licked and sucked them some before shaking his head. “No, they’re perfect.”
Forever smiled and grabbed the side of his face. She waited until he was looking at her to say anything. The longing in his eyes stirred emotions inside of her that made her feel like she’d known him forever. There was something in the familiarity of his touch that had her opening her legs wider for him.
“I crave you terribly,” he told her before softly biting her lip.
Marcellus looked at her lovingly and placed a passionate kiss on her lips. Forever returned it.
“Do you mind if I have some more?”
Forever was no fool, so she was sure she knew what the ‘some’ was that he was speaking of, but did she mind? Of course, she did, or at least she should have. A normal girl with self-respect and morals probably would have, but she wasn’t that. On most days, she was just a hard worker who didn’t have time for anything outside of casual sex. No relationships, no dates, no small talk; just sex, and nothing more.
“Can I?” he pushed.
The widening of her legs was her answer, and he understood it. Marcellus’ hand was on her, rubbing and brewing a blazing inferno in her body.
“When?” she questioned.
“I need it now.”
Forever died at the need in his voice.
“Just for a minute.” He stood from the barstool and walked to the laundry room in the corner of the kitchen.
Once they were inside with the door closed, he pushed the front of his pants down and pulled her panties to the side, all while holding her up with one arm. Forever looked down while he tried to find her opening with just the head. At the first contact of his body with hers, she tensed up. He pecked her forehead.
“You want me to stop?”
She shook her head and pushed toward him. Marcellus’ naked dick entered her, and she gasped. Not moving at first, he just held it there and groaned. Neither of them bothered to talk or render any encouragement to the other. They just silently enjoyed the connection of their bodies.
“Marcellus,” Forever whispered against his lips.
“Yes, my girl.”
Forever didn’t even know what she wanted to say after that. She’d just wanted to hear him. His voice relaxed her.
“I’m going to get a littl
e bit, okay?”
Forever nodded, and he began to move inside of her at a slow pace. The juices from her body welcomed him, soaking up even more now that he was actually inside. Her eyes fluttered slowly as she felt the muscles in his back and arms flex in the palms of her hands.
“We have to hurry,” she told him while trying to catch her breath.
He nodded and looked at her with the same longing from the night before. The innocent vulnerability had returned, and once again, she was in charge. Even with him doing all the movement, she could tell it was all to please her. The determination was all over his face.
“You’re doing good, Mars.” She kissed his lips, and he sped up.
“I’m going to cum, Forever,” he told her dejectedly.
His head dropped, and he closed his eyes before quickly pulling out of her. The mess he made smeared across her stomach as he continued holding her in his arms.
“I’m sorry,” he mumbled.
“It’s fine.”
He shook his head and let her down. Forever fixed her panties while he grabbed a towel out of the basket behind them and cleaned himself. He avoided eye contact the entire time, even leaving the laundry room once he’d gotten himself back together.
Forever could tell he was embarrassed for climaxing so fast, another repeat from the night before, but he didn’t have to be. Forever wouldn’t hold it against him. They were new to each other, and maybe he just needed some time to adjust to the feel of her body. Hopefully, that was all it was. She liked sex with him. If he could make it last a little longer, she’d like it even more, but in time it would come.
She reassured herself of that before leaving the laundry room. He was back on the barstool; his face was withdrawn as he slouched a little more than he had been before. Forever stopped behind him as she headed to take another shower.
“It felt good.” She pecked the back of his neck and hurried away.
She grabbed more clothes and showered again before returning. He was still in the same spot with no signs of Goody.
“The food is going to be cold by the time she gets back.” Forever tried her hand at conversation.
“She just texted and said she’s outside.” He allowed his eyes to travel slowly to her. “Come here.”
She padded over and stopped next to him. His long fingers entangled in her hair and his eyes traveled away with thought. He was quiet for a minute while Forever toiled with herself about what was to occur between them. She did, in fact, want to give him some more. Stranger or not, he was fine as hell and could be something fun to do while she was in town. After all, he was her type. Sexy, successful, and not interested in anything serious. Even if the sex did only last five seconds.
“Would you like to come back to my place later? I need a do over.”
“Maybe.”
“It’ll just be us.”
“I don’t know,” she stalled.
Marcellus pressed his forehead into hers. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t keep asking you this. We don’t even know each other. I just… I just feel the chemistry between us, can you?”
Forever nodded in a hurry. She definitely could. She’d been feeling it since the first time she ever laid eyes on him at her party. There had been plenty of times she’d caught sight of him while on Facetime with Goody, but there was nothing that could compare to the real thing.
“I can do better.” He touched her lips with his then retreated.
Forever watched him lean back into his spot on the barstool. The room was quiet for a long while before Forever interrupted it.
“Do you have a girlfriend?”
“No.”
“Why not?”
He smiled. “Don’t want one.”
Forever returned his smile. “Ditto.”
The silence came again, encompassing them both. Still standing next to him, Forever watched him scroll on the computer. The light from it glowed against his dark brown skin. The thick eyebrows, sexy, plump lips, and strong face defined his masculinity most enticingly, while the athletic stature and grown man weight made him appear larger than life.
So calm and contained, he sat as if he hadn’t just sexed her in her sister’s laundry room. Nothing about his posture or demeanor conveyed his sinful desires, and it almost confused Forever. Although she was calm as well, her mind was racing with the possibilities of him and what he could possibly offer her, but he looked to be thinking nothing of the sort. His face was hard and focused on whatever he’d been reading on the laptop.
“You’re staring,” he said without looking up.
“You’re not.”
He smiled and looked at her. “Should I be?”
“That’s your decision.”
“I asked you to come over, and you ignored me.” His tone dropped some as he looked up from the screen again and just watched her without saying anything.
Just when she opened her mouth to say something, Goody walked back through the door. She was carrying a bag and talking on the phone at the same time. Her eyes went to Forever then Marcellus before smiling.
“I’m finna call you right back. Let me put this stuff down,” Goody told the caller while placing her bags on the counter. “Why y’all sitting up in here like that?”
“Like what?” Forever questioned for them both.
Goody looked at Marcellus then back to Forever. “Heffa, why you ain’t got no clothes on?”
“When do I ever wear clothes besides when Messiah is here?”
Forever had showered but returned in pretty much the same thing. Only, this time, it was a bra and shorts instead of her crop top and panties from before.
“True, but Marcellus is here.”
Forever walked around the counter. “He didn’t mind.” She winked at him, and he smiled.
Goody gave them both knowing looks but didn’t press anything. Forever knew her sister, and she might not have said anything out loud, but she’d bet her last dollar that Goody was coming up with all kinds of stuff in her head.
“Don’t you start,” Forever stopped her.
“Start what? I didn’t even say anything.”
“Didn’t have to. Your face said it,” Marcellus told her.
“My face ain’t said shit. My sister in here in your face wearing her bra is what said it.” Goody giggled while busying herself in the kitchen.
All Forever could do was smile and shake her head. She was sure she’d hear about it all later, so versus continuing anything, she headed to the bedroom to put on a shirt. Marcellus’ grip on her hand stopped her on her way out. His eyes danced over her frame before he winked and released her to go. With Goody’s back to them, she missed the subtle exchange.
Come over, please, Marcellus mouthed to her as she backed away. Forever nodded at him and ducked into Goody’s room. With her back to the door, she closed her eyes and sighed. She had to stay away from that man and his overwhelming, totally out of order, confidently mature energy. It shifted something in her that didn’t feel safe. Something that made her want to be bad… really bad.
Chapter Five
I Just Want to Make Sure You’re Good
“Because I’m a muthafucking dog!” Goody yelled into the mic while holding onto the large headphones crossed over her head.
Her smile grew wider as she looked through the large clear glass. There were three men seated in various places around the room watching her while she stood in the booth rapping her verse. It was an early morning session, almost three a.m. to be exact, and she’d been there for the past five hours writing and rapping. She’d been on her way out of the nail shop with Forever when Marcellus hit her up with some good news, and she’d been in the mood to grind ever since.
It didn’t matter what time it was; her energy was on a million, and all she’d been doing since being in the booth was smiling. She’d been snapping her fingers, waving her hands, grabbing the headphones, and any other thing she needed to do to add feeling to her verses. Marcellus, Killa K, and his manager, Jacorey,
were all seated comfortably in their chairs watching her.
Goody caught Killa K’s eye for the millionth time that night and smiled but kept her focus on what she was doing. He’d been blatantly staring at her all night. Goody was a pretty girl, so she was accustomed to men who stared or openly admired her, but there was still always a funny feeling in her stomach when the man was a somebody. Killa K was definitely that.
He too was an up and coming rapper from Atlanta, and his talent was perfection at its finest. The things he said were so intelligent and well put together that you’d end up learning something new while standing in the middle of a club. Her reminded Goody a lot of an underrated Tupac, Nipsey Hussle, or a ghetto J. Cole. Always spitting real and relatable stuff that left you feeling like life would get better.
She’d been thinking about doing some work with him for the longest, but she’d been so focused on doing her own thing and making her own way that she hadn’t had time. But, thanks to the blessings of God, his people had reached out to Marcellus and linked it up without her having to do any of the leg work.
“He’s just another dog out here chasing this cat!” Goody said that last line with hardcore feeling and a jovial smile while removing her headphones.
Since that was supposedly the last time she had to rap that verse, she let herself out of the booth and headed for Marcellus.
“How was that?”
Marcellus grabbed her hand and pulled her to him. “Raw.”
“Fucking perfect.” Killa K stood up and clapped his hands.
His manager smiled at her and gave her a thumbs up.
“That’s all we’ll need for now. This is about to be a hit.” Jacorey stood to his feet and motioned to the door. “Marcellus, you got a minute?”
Marcellus followed him out of the studio, leaving Goody alone with Killa K. He was back seated, this time on the sofa with his legs thrown over one side of it. His head was back, and his eyes looked like they were about to close.
