She was always there with me. Whatever I was doing, it was like she was standing by my side, supporting me, giving me the strength I needed to live through another day without her. Maybe deep down inside of me, I knew that it was not the end for us, there was still something that I needed to do to be happy again, because if I thought I was happy with the way my life was before her, I was wrong. Right now, with her, was all I ever wanted in my life, I just had never realized it…

I pulled out just enough to see her pleading for me to keep going with her eyes.

“Don’t worry, Love, I’m not going anywhere.”

Then I pushed myself deep inside of her and she held her breath; her grip on my hips tightened, nails digging in.

“So good,” she said, arching her back to meet my thrusts. “God, how could I have ever let you go? Why did I let you go?”

I smiled, slowing down. “Don’t you ever let it happen again.”

  “I won’t.”

She pushed me back slightly, just enough so that she could roll me over on my back. Without saying a word, she reached down to where I was waiting for her and then she guided me inside her, taking me fully in with a soft moan.

“You look like a demoness,” I said, wrapping my hand around her waist and pressing her down to lay on my chest.

“Maybe I am a demoness,” she said, raising her eyebrow and smiling wickedly.

Her hips rocked, slamming against mine, her lips captured mine in a kiss. I knew I was lost, lost to everything but this very moment, lost to everything but her, and I bet she knew it too.

“Come inside me,” she said, shutting down all the thoughts left in my head.

Damn, she knew what to say to make me lose the remnants of my stupid mind…

  Chapter 20

  Jillian

Pure bliss filled my body and mind. I didn’t feel anything but the fire, running through me that burned down everything on its way. I was lost, lost to everything but him, and I didn’t mind it at all.

His moves became more rapid, his embrace around my waist tightened and the next moment, I felt him emptying himself inside me, his cock pulsating inside of me with his release; he came with a low groan vibrating against my chest.

“Holy hell, that was amazing,” he said, sighing heavily with pleasure.

I laughed quietly, kissing his lips softly. “Couldn’t agree with you more.”

“Just don’t think that I will let you get out of this bed any time soon. I am not finished with you yet, Jillian.”

  “You want more? Already?”

“Oh, yes, I do. And I bet you will feel it very soon as well.”

I moved to lay down next to him, but he wouldn’t let me.

“No. I want to stay inside you, just a little longer.” He moved a piece of my hair that had stuck to my cheek with the heat of the moment, and I put my head on his chest, smiling to myself. Until now, I didn’t realize how much I actually needed to be with Oliver again. Until now, I didn’t realize how much I missed and loved him. He was all I ever needed.

“Will you play your music for me again?” I asked.

“It’s not like I carry a guitar in my back pocket, you know?”

“No, but I know that you can play the piano as well. And I just happen to have one in the living room.”

“I don’t remember Scarlett playing the piano.”

“She doesn’t, she can’t play, but I can.”

“No, really? What else don’t I know about you?”

“I’m not going to tell you all my secrets at once, Mr. Altier.”

He grimaced, as if he were offended by the statement.

“How about we play a Quatre Mains?”

“Considering how good our hands can play, I’m sure it will be great.”

I laughed, carefully rising to my feet. “Get up, Smarty. Let’s see how good you are at the piano.”

“I can do a lot of things at and on the piano.”

“Just don’t tell me you did that on the piano.” As always, the thought of Oliver playing with someone else caused nothing but disgust in me, I felt bile rising in my throat.

“No, but I’m dying to try.” He winked at me.

I wrapped a sheet around my shoulders and went to the living room where my piano was.

“It looks older than my grandparents are,” Oliver said, sitting on a small, round chair.

“This thing is my treasure, so I would really appreciate a little more respect,” I said, taking another chair to sit next to Oliver.

“I didn’t know you liked antiques.”

“It’s just another secret of mine that you now know.”

He smiled and pushed away the black cover for the piano.

“Now, let’s see how much I can remember from my piano classes.” He tried a few chords, and then started playing a song that I thought sounded familiar.

“Wait a second, isn’t it the very song from Chasing Mavericks that played in the trailer for the movie?”

  “Aha.”

“I always loved that song, well, the movie too for that matter.”

  “So did I.”

  I smirked.

“What? Did you think it wasn’t possible for us to have anything in common except for our passion for sexual pleasure?”

“Actually, I think we have more in common than either you or I want to think we do.”

“My point exactly.” Oliver leaned closer and kissed me, still playing the song. He wasn’t singing, but I could hear the lyrics in my head.

The whole situation with Oliver was like a song, with the beginning, refrain and an end that neither one of us could have foreseen. I hated uncertainty, but even more, I hated the idea of knowing what would be the end of our story, and yes, I was afraid it wouldn’t be as perfect as I wanted it to be.

“What are we going to do now?” I asked, watching him.

  “What do you mean?”

“I mean tomorrow.” I could already see the first rays of sun breaking through the curtains, but I don’t think I was ready to face the new day, or the thought of him leaving again, and so soon, I didn’t want to.

Oliver stopped playing and turned my chair so that I was facing him now.

“I’m not going to let the old scenario repeat,” he said strictly.

  “Then what do you suggest?”

“I think I can work remotely. I will go back to L.A. tonight, make sure that my team can deal with the business on their own, and then, I will come back here.”

“But you just started building your career. You can’t leave everything behind, just because of me.”

“I can’t leave you. And it’s not like I’m going to quit or anything. I will simply move back here and maybe even try to open another office in New York.”

“I think you should talk to Dominick first.”

“Hey, don’t you want me all for yourself?” He smiled.

“Of course, I do. But I don’t want our relationship to ruin your dreams, when relationships ruin dreams they also tend to ruin the relationship.”

“Baby, I don’t need anything if I don’t have you, and I can and will make my career work, regardless of where I am living.”

For someone like Oliver Altier, a thoughtless player, who had always been an example of everything that mothers usually warn their daughters to stay away from, for him to say words like that, was like him going into a ministry. But hearing words like that meant even more than anyone could imagine.

“Damn, look at you, Mr. Altier! Have you ever imagined yourself saying anything like that to a woman?”

“I don’t think so, but I love the way it sounds. Because I love you, and I’m sure that now we can handle anything, as long as we are together.”

  “I hope so.”

“Don’t you think it’s a little cold here? Shall we go back to bed and maybe warm up a little?”

“What do you have in mind?”

“Let me show you.” He took my hands in his and we ran back to my bedroom.r />
“Careful!” I laughed. “We don’t need to have any stupid accidents, do we?”

Saying good-bye to Oliver later that day was even harder than two months ago. We didn’t have much time to spend together, since I had work in the morning and he needed to talk to his brother about the future of his production company.

We went to Wilson’s Publicity together, and the whole way there I felt like I was about to start crying, and knowing myself, I couldn’t believe that I would be one of those girls who would start crying just because a man was going to leave me, even though it wasn’t like Oliver was leaving forever.

“I’ll see you later,” he said, kissing me in front of Dominick’s office.

“Okay.” I nodded and went to see Scarlett. I needed to talk to someone as soon as possible, and she was my best option.

“Morning, Sunshine,” she said and looked up from her work. When she looked at my face, she said, “Hey, you okay?”

Apparently, my expression left much to be desired.

I shook my head, saying, “Not even close.”

  “What happened?”

We sat on her couch and she asked her secretary to bring us two cups of coffee.

“Is this about Oliver, again? Last night you two looked so happy to see each other. What happened after Dom and I left?”

“We went to my place. And, well… You know the rest.”

  “Oh, um… okay.”

  “He said he loves me.”

“No way, really? Well, that’s great news! Then what is this sour face about? Don’t you love him too?”

“I do. That’s the problem. He’s leaving tonight and I-”

“Oh, Sweetie… You think it will end up as crappy as it did last time?”

  “Exactly.”

“What does he think about the whole thing?”

“He went to talk to Dom about the possibility of opening another office here, in New York.”

“Well, I’m sure they will come up with something that will be good for everyone.”

I sighed. “I hope so. Oh, Scarlett, I don’t want to lose him again. I know it’s hard to believe that someone like me could be capable of falling in love, I didn’t expect it myself. But you know what? I think I have never been happier than I was last night.”

Scarlett smiled, hugging me. “Trust me, Jill, I know exactly what you are talking about. When Dom and I had finally come to an understanding and I came back to New York, the time we spent together that night was the best time of my life. It was just enough to let our fears ago, and it all happened just the way it was always supposed to.”

“So you think it’s a good idea?”

“Dating one of the sexiest men in the world? Hell yes, I think it is a good idea!”

I laughed, shaking my head. “Thank God, Dom can’t hear you now.”

“He knows I love him madly, he also knows that I always say what I am thinking. Besides, now I have another reason to believe that he loves me too.” She caressed her belly, smiling. “I never thought that being pregnant with a child from someone you love so much would feel so unbelievably magical.”

“I’m so happy for you, Scar. And for this little devil too,” I said, nodding to her belly. “After all, he or she will have the most amazing, bad-ass Godmother in the world, right?”

She giggled. “I care about my life, you know? So of course, I would never ask anyone else to be my first child’s Godmother.”

  “Now, that’s the right answer.”

After the talk with Scarlett, I got even more nervous, even though she did her best to assure me that everything was going to be okay.

It was almost noon and I still hadn’t heard any news about Oliver’s meeting with Dominick. His secretary said that they left and said they would be back in a few hours. I didn’t want to call either of them, even though I was dying to, and every time my cell phone rang, I ran to pick it up as if it were a fire that needed to be extinguished.

About half an hour later, Oliver finally came to my office, holding a big banner with gold and purple writing on it.

“J.M. Records? What’s this?” I asked, reading the writing.

“The name of my New York branch,” he said proudly, as he laid the banner down on my desk.

  “Why J.M. Records?

“Isn’t it obvious?” Dominick asked, entering the office. “I told him that one day he would turn into your loyal puppy, and here we go, it happened even sooner than I had originally expected.”

I looked at the name again and then at Oliver.

“You mean you named it after me?”

“It was the best option.” He bent down and kissed me on the lips.

Dom smirked. “Never thought I would live to see the day that my brother fell in love.”

Oliver grimaced. “Will I live to see the day when you finally stop being an asshole?”

“Hardly possible,” I said, meeting Dom’s smiling eyes.

He patted the couch where he was sitting and said, “Try to not ruin it today, kids.” Then he rose to his feet and went to the door, winking at me before closing it behind him.

“Speaking of which,” Oliver’s eyes travelled to where Dom was sitting moments ago. “Looks welcoming. When did you change it?”

“Right after you left for L.A. Didn’t want to see anything that reminded me of you.”

“Now that I’m going to be here very often, I think you will love to see this thing first thing in the morning when you get to work.”

  “Really? Are you staying?”

“I will still need to leave tonight, but I will come back in a few days, so your sheets won’t even have enough time to get cold.”

He captured my lips in a kiss, and all my worries were gone in the blink of an eye.

“Do you have any meetings for the rest of the day?”

“No, why?” I asked, looking suspiciously at Oliver.

“I want to show you something.”

“Okay.” I took my bag and told Amy I was leaving.

“Wait, I think I forgot my car keys,” I said, searching the bag.

“We don’t need a car, we only need to cross the street.”

I looked at Oliver, squinting. “What are you up to?”

“Wait and you will see.” He took my hand in his and we went to the elevators. To our mutual disappointment, we were not alone there.

“I should seriously think about bribing the security,” Oliver said in a whisper, while waiting for the elevator to take us down to the lobby.

I chuckled. “You will also need to bribe Dominick. We both know how much he enjoys watching the recordings.”

We left the building of Wilson's Publicity and headed for the one on the other side of the road.

“What are we doing here?” I asked, watching Oliver unlocking a door with a password keyboard.

  “Welcome to J.M. Records!”

I looked around the empty room, and gasped. “Are you serious? Did you rent this place for your new office?”

“Yep. And it’s just a two-minute walk away from you. Perfect, isn’t it?”

“How did you do that? I thought it was nearly impossible to find an office in this part of the city.”

“In moments like this, I love my brother more than ever.”

We both laughed. “Maybe Scarlett was right after all, and he does know how to be a good guy and not just a jerk?”

“Will you help me with this place?”

I looked around again and nodded, smiling. “How can I possibly say no?”

“Hmm.” Oliver came closer and wrapped both arms around me. “It’s so easy to get used to hearing answers like that.”

“It’s so easy to get used to having you by my side,” I said in response. I was still a little afraid of saying that aloud, as if someone could put an evil eye on us. But when Oliver was so close, all my worries disappeared without a trace, as if he could take them away with one touch alone.

“Did you like the idea about the name?”r />
I smiled up at him. “It’s the best surprise a man has ever done for me.”

He returned the smile and hugged me tighter. “I don’t know what I would have done without you, Jillian.”

  “I do.”

  “Really? Enlighten me then?”

“You would just be your old self.”

“You say it as if it’s something bad.”

  “It’s a disaster!”

He laughed, kissing me. “I thought you loved the old me.”

“J'aime tout chez toi — I love everything about you. Because I know that as long as we are together, we can be as crazy or as decent as we want.”

“I love the sound of that. How about we become a little naughty sometimes as well?”

“Sounds like a damn good plan.”

It was the last time I saw Oliver that day. A few hours later, he went back to L.A., but unlike the previous time, I was sure that now everything would be different.

Maybe he was not perfect, maybe I was not perfect either, but whenever we were together, it hardly mattered, because for each other, we were more than just perfect. We were soul mates, and no words were needed to prove it. One glance was just enough to say it all — we were all in for whatever game each and every new day promised…

  The End.
