“Bradley, please take Tara to her room,” Acacia asked. Bradley was eager to be of service and Acacia lead the way to Tara’s room. The boy was seventeen, which made him three years older than Tara, but he was a future Senator and so Tara would be his wife, if Acacia could keep her away from those damn Freedom Fighters.

Acacia was not in a big hurry to announce to the Senator that Tara was a Gate Keeper. She discovered it several weeks prior to being summoned to the Texas mansion. She was sent on another errand when she was observing Tara out in the yard with her dogs. Tara had cast magick from her hands, which she tried to hide, not even her father knew.

Acacia knew her mother died because she refused to align her loyalties with her husband's ambitions. He slit her throat, then told Tara her mother had a brain aneurism. Tara was to never know the truth. From watching the girl, her mother knew what she was and had her keep it a secret. Acacia's goal was to get Tara to the boarding school, under the impression of it being for her own safety. But the father was relentless about keeping her there and sheltering her from everything else. Now Acacia knew Rhea would be there soon with her friends, and all hell would break out! Acacia had to turn the heat up on them!

Opening Tara's bedroom door, Bradley laid her in the bed. He stopped at the door by Acacia.

“I leave in the morning to report back to duty, you will promise to keep her safe won't you?” He asked.

  So innocent, she thought.

“Yes, that is my goal, is to keep Tara as safe as possible.” He looked back at Tara, Acacia smiled. It was clear that he was bothered by Acacia, and so he should be, she thought to herself. He reluctantly turned and left. Acacia watched her a little longer before she shut the door. At least they wouldn't be able to look in on her again.

Rhea was irritating, always the little whiner! Always crying about the injustice in the world. Rhea was always complaining things were happening to her, and now something horrible really was going to happen, Acacia decided as she entered her own bedroom. Rhea was about to get a big surprise sent her way. Acacia let the joy fall from her expression as she looked over at the man leaning against her balcony doors.

“Where have you been?” She said with a snarky tone.

He didn't respond. Acacia rolled her eyes. It didn't matter, they had a common goal.

“Are the moles in place?” He asked, moving just enough for her to see he was drinking. Not a normal action for him.

“Yes, they are in place. Lynn is heading straight into that trap, and by tonight I will have attacked the Oracle in the north, driving her straight to Rhea.” Acacia poured herself a drink; it was something common for her. She took a long sip. He moved from the doors to the foot of her bed.

“What is wrong with you?” She demanded.

  He responded with a glare

Acacia walked over to the closet door and opened it.

“I have a surprise for you, darling.”

He looked at her, as she pulled two young women out of the closet; they were dressed as belly dancers.

“Dance” She demanded from them. They danced with their thumb cymbals. Their body’s moved with precision.

He smirked as she moved back to him.

“Dance magic?” he asked, the girls were young witches in their early twenties, both blond with blue eyes.

“More importantly movers of time. Short term.” she whispered as she leaned into his ear and brushed it with her mouth. He smiled.

There were many ways to take powers from the young, sex was one of them, and death was another. Acacia was good at the first rather than the later though she didn't mind doing either. The girls moved closer, as if they were commanded.

“They are for us, love” she smiled circling around one twin, moving her hands along the girl’s stomach keeping her eyes on Kalerian. She enjoyed giving him the show. She moved her hands over the girls’ breasts and unfastened the top part of the halter, and it fell off. The girl turned and faced her bending over into a back bend. Acacia rubbed her hands over her body, Kalerian just watching as if it was a simple movie his arms crossed.

Acacia hiked up the girl’s skirt, when Kalerian stopped leaning on the bed, came over to Acacia and jerked her to him, grabbing her upper arms.

“You’re enjoying this too much, Acacia. We have work to do, and you’re screwing around!” His fingers dug into her arm, he was on the verge of losing control. “A man doesn't want a trollop, Darling; he wants a woman who is strong because she is, not from what she can steal but for who she is. That is a quality I am afraid you don't have.” his meaning cut clear into her. She was bound to this man magically forever, but to him she was just another person who he could dispose of.

He let go of her, throwing her away from him and walked out of her room. The young girl stayed where she was, too afraid to move.

Acacia felt rage shoot through her.

“Leave me!” She demanded. Acacia picked up a vase and threw it screaming. Damn him for treating her like that, she could never please that man. She needed to remind him she was more powerful than the girl he was so freaking obsessed with. Acacia would take care of all of that. Grabbing two potions, Acacia Thought of where she wanted to go and threw the bottle to the ground. Kalerian was hers.
