Link pulled up to the Clubhouse as the sun was setting. Tuck was standing on the porch waiting for him, like Link knew he would be. Before he even parked his bike, Tuck was walking toward him.
“We need to talk,” Tuck said. “I’ve called Church for the morning, but you and I need to be on the same page before that happens.”
Link got off his bike and pulled the envelope he was sent to retrieve from his saddle bags handing it over to Tuck. “How about we start with why you sent me on a fool’s errand which anyone of the Prospects could have handled?”
“Not here. If we’re going to talk this out, it needs to be out of sight of the Club and the members.”
Link didn’t say anything, following Tuck into the garage and waited the man out. Link and Tuck had been at odds lately, and it wasn’t right for them or the Club. Link was supposed to be Tucks right-hand man, and he was keeping shit from Link, important shit.
“I told Creed to make sure no one came in here until we’re done. You’ve been fucking up lately brother, and that shit needs to stop now.” Tuck was standing in what Link knew was a fighter’s stance. His hands were loose, down by his side, and his feet were shoulder width apart.
“I’ve been fucking up?” Link laughed. “No, I’ve been covering for your ass while you take off without any word to anyone and leaving me with all the mess. You’re the President of this club and as such, missions are off limits to you, it’s in the bylaws. Why don’t you tell me how many missions you’ve been on in the last year, Tuck? Why don’t you tell me how many of those mission have been under the RBMC radar?”
“I do what I think is best for this Club and for the missions we accept. All missions, Link, are to be handled the way I see fit. If that means I go, then I go. You were supposed to handle Dowes. You were expected to protect this Club and haven’t done either.”
“Dowes was never my choice, and you damn well know it. I fought you about keeping that man on and you overruled me. That shit is on you, and for the record, I did handle that shit. That’s why the man in question is tied up in the fucking shed as we speak.”
“You think you handled that shit, do you?” Tuck laughed. “Then how in the hell did Carri happen to get her hands on mission files? Can you answer that, not only mission files, but detailed mission files? She knows what we do. Are you ready to handle her, too, Link?”
“What!?!” He was aware of the implications of Carri knowing about them and their undercover status. He knew what it meant for her, and he wouldn’t let that happen.
“Oh, so you’re not as on top of it as you thought, now are you, boy?” Link hated it when Tuck used that term, he wasn’t anyone’s boy. He’d worked his ass off to get elected into his position, and he deserved the respect that went along with it. Tuck was supposed to be his best friend, but that bastard had been acting like a douche lately. First, he forced Whisky’s hand, then Tank’s. Now it looked like he planned to do the same thing to Link. The only difference, Link wasn’t being forced, he’d already made up his mind about Carrington before Tuck even opened his mouth. She was his, pure and simple.
“That’s right. Carri walked right into the Clubhouse, not more than an hour ago, and laid ten files on my desk. Each one had detailed operations the RBMC has been involved with over the last year. How in the hell did you let that slip by?”
“Dowes had mission files? How is that even possible,” Link asked.
“That’s the thing, Link, these weren’t Dowes’ files, they were ours. What I want to know is how classified files left the Clubhouse and ended up in Dowes’ files?”
Fuck. Links mind was spinning; someone had planted those files for Carri to find and it could only be a member of the RBMC. No one else would have had access or knowledge of them. Link started going through everyone who was involved that day at Dowes’ office and home. None of the Brothers there would have done this. The only wild card was the Prospect who had come to help move Dowes to the shed. Everyone else, shit, he didn’t want to think about any of them being a traitor and basically signing Carrington’s death warrant.
“Fuck man, I don’t know. I brought the files from Dowes’ office to Carri, and Brass brought the shit from the house. Jasper and Ghost helped unload. That was the only time the boxes were ever left with a non-patched member. Jinx, Brass, and Tank have all been at the offices, but I don’t think there has been anyone else here besides myself and the girls,” Link said.
“Well, I don’t know what to tell you. I have the files now. The question is what are you going to do about it. You know what this means for Carri.” Tuck said.
“She’s mine.” Link didn’t even need to think. “I’ll make her my Old Lady. Old Ladies are given privileged information at their man’s discretion. If that doesn’t work, her being the Club lawyer should smooth any ruffled feathers. She can’t say a word of what she knows. The Brothers like her, I don’t think there will be any problem.”
“I like her, too,” Tuck replied, “but I like my freedom more. No way in hell would I claim a bitch just to keep her under my thumb.”
“When did you turn into such an asshole? What I feel for Carrington goes way beyond wanting my freedom. Jesus, what is up with you lately?” Link threw his hands up in the air. He’d enough of this bullshit. “It was your idea to bring Carrington here. You were willing to feed her to the wolves for some fucking information. That doesn’t even include the way you treated Addy or, hell, even Reagan.”
“You should understand it, Link. Didn’t you say, not too long ago, that you did exactly what you thought was best for Addy and Whiskey? How about Talon? Didn’t you say it was best for him to stay behind here in Defiance because you needed to get Whisk away from Addy and their child?”
Link couldn’t contain his anger any longer, he charged Tuck, grabbing ahold of his cut and yelling right in his face.
“I’ve made mistakes, Tuck, I was a fucking kid. I’ve hurt people, I get that, but I did it because I thought it was for the best at the time. I was fucking nineteen-years-old. What the fuck is your excuse, motherfucker?”
Tuck pushed Link away and started to pace running his hands through his hair. “My missions don’t have anything to do with the Club, their personal. That’s why I haven’t told you about them. Carri wasn’t supposed to be here longer than a week or two, tops. Long enough for me to get her security clearance and tell her what her dad and the others were up to. I never expected this shit with Dowes or that she would be in any danger. Ruffle a few feathers, yes, putting her life on the line, hell no.
“As for Addy and Whisk, all I did was make your brother see the light. He wanted her, everybody knew it. I won’t apologize for what I did to them. Talon, fuck man, I didn’t know until it was too late that he’s the one who set up the meeting with Shade. He only told me when I saw him before the trial started. Little Brother has lone wolf tendencies, like someone else I know.”
“What the fuck are we going to do, Tuck, if we can’t even work together? The Club will feel it. There’s already too much tension with Crank going MIA. I get that man needed some space, but we’re limping along here when we need to pull together even tighter. We have the town, our previous lawyer, the new sheriff, and our own handlers turning against us. If we don’t do something and soon, the RBMC Defiance chapter might as well make tracks. I, for one, don’t want that.”
“Me, either. Listen, Link, I need time to get my personal shit in order. I need you to give me that without asking questions. We need to decide what to do about Carri; if you claim her, then I don’t think we need to bring this up to the table. The only people who know for sure that she knows about any of this is you, her, and me. The person who planted the information only knows she has the files, not that she’s read them. I’ll make an announcement tomorrow that Talon is taking over looking through the files. That way we can see exactly who starts to squirm. Dowes is another matter, he needs to disappear. Are you up for that?
“Wet work has never been my thing, not th
at I’m against it, but it’s more of Jinx’s specialty. I say let him have at it. We still need to press for some more answers; we don’t know who is funding this campaign against us. Reagan can’t track anything from Taylor’s, Potter’s, or even Worthington’s accounts. But she may be able to find something if we get our hands on James Haslet’s accounts. He’s in this up to his eyeballs.”
“It sounds like we have a plan. Are we okay, can you back me when I need to leave for a while? Because, Link, it’s going to happen sooner rather than later.”
“I have your back, Tuck, even when you’re acting like an ass. I don’t like it, but that’s my job after all.”
“Yeah, it is. Your girl is inside at the bar. I told her about her dad, and she didn’t take it all that well. She put on a brave face, but it was bothering her. She asked me to make him pay, but I could tell she was blaming herself.”
“Fuck, I knew that would happen.” Link started for the door but stopped and turned around. “From now on, anything that has to do with Carrington comes through me first. Are we clear on that? Because if we aren’t, this meeting is far from over. I won’t back down on that.”
“Understood and accepted, anything to do with Carri is off limits, unless you say so. Now go get your girl. When I left, she was eyeing Crash like he was a piece of candy, and she wanted to take a bite. Just for the record, I was right. Carrington Worthington brought you to your knees.”
“Not, yet asshole, but that day might come sooner than either of us thought.”
Chapter 19
Carri was determined to get drunk and try to forget everything she’d learned today, even if it was only for a little while. The Prospect behind the bar was an extremely good-looking guy, maybe she could get him to join her in helping her forget. Link wasn’t around, and he’d made sure she knew he wasn’t interested, so what the hell. Mindless, no-holds-barred sex, along with a couple of drinks, would go a long way in helping this shitty day get better.
She watched him moving behind the bar while she nursed her beer; the man was fine. Tall and built like a brick shithouse, dark hair cut close, but not too close, leaving enough for her to run her fingers through or grab hold of at the right moment. Biting her lip, she wondered if she could do it. Could she go after a man she found attractive to forget the man she really wanted? Could she be bold enough to make him an offer she hoped he wouldn’t refuse? Could she live with it after it was over? She wasn’t virgin by any means, but she wasn’t an easy lay either.
Turning around on her bar stool, she looked out at the room. A party was in full swing. It didn’t seem any of the brothers of the RBMC had a problem with no-strings-attached sex. Damn, looking around, her eyes were being treated to more sex acts than the porno channel on her computer. Turning back around, she watched the man behind the bar. She’d been introduced, his name was Crash or something. He had that bad boy look Carri found very hard to resist, tattoos and piercings decorating most of his tanned skin. He also reminded her of Link in a lot of ways, but she wouldn’t examine that thought any further. Link wasn’t here. Crash was, and his tight t-shirt, under the black leather cut, teased her with glimpses of tattoos which hid underneath, and torn up jeans that showcased his firm ass and cupped him in just the right way.
“What are you doing here, Carri?”
Carri didn’t need to turn to see who was talking to her, she knew that voice. Hell, she didn’t need this right now. She was upset and mad he hadn’t been around when she found out about her dad. She’d started to rely on the cold bastard.
“Having a drink, Link, what does it look like?” She tried to ignore him and continue ogling Crash, but the mood was gone. Lincoln Frost had a way of making her only think about him. Shit.
“Go away Link, I’ve had a shit day, and I don’t need to hear about how you think I’m a crappy lawyer or shittier person.”
“Dance with me.”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“Because, Link, I’m sick of the roller coaster ride you’ve kept me on. It's time for me to get off. Please, go away.”
“Not until you dance with me.”
Carri finally turned and looked at him. Damn, she didn’t even need to work for it or make her mind imagine anything, this man got her wet instantly. It was like her body had a mind of its own; Link walked into the room, and she became ready for his possession. Damn body. Then he smiled at her, and all bets were off. She knew what she was going to do. It might be the biggest mistake of her life, but she was finally going to have one night with Lincoln Frost. The booze might have helped her come to that decision, but she didn’t care.
“Fine, one dance.”
“We’ll see.” Link led her out onto the makeshift dance floor. Hard rock was playing over the speakers, but apparently, that didn’t matter, he was in the mood to dance slow. Putting his hands on her waist, Link pulled her to him, causing her to crash into his body. At first, she kept her hands on his shoulders, but as he started to move, her hands drifted up to his neck, her fingers twining in his soft as silk hair.
The man smelled amazing, a mix of musk and leather, and when he started to kiss her neck, Carri tilted her head, giving him better access. When he pulled back and went for her lips, she went along for the ride willingly, giving that bottom lip, she was so fascinated with, a little nip before licking it better and then plunging her tongue into his mouth. The kiss became heated quickly, soft strokes turned into urgent thrusts and sucks before he pulled back and looked at her.
“Come to my room with me.”
“Lead the way.”
Carri had shocked him. He never expected her to agree to go to his room, but he wouldn’t question this gift. He was going to enjoy it. He would talk to her later about everything else, right then, he’d other plans. Taking her by the hand, he led her up the stairs to the third floor which was exclusive to the officers. Any brother who wanted had rooms at the RBMC. He was heading to his room, stopping several times to kiss the hell out of her to make sure she didn’t change her mind.
Opening his door, he guided her inside. She didn’t go far, turning to face him. Link closed the door and leaned against it, locking it.
“How do you like to be fucked, Carri? Because that’s what’s going to happen. I’m going to fuck you. I’m just giving you the choice on how.”
Carri walked to him, placing her hand on Links' neck, pulling his mouth down to hers. “I want you to fuck me so hard I forget what happened today. I want you to fuck me so deep the only thing I can think of is you and what we’re doing. Does that answer your question?”
Taking her lips, Link devoured her mouth. Carri groaned and curled her leg around his hips, pulling him closer. Shit, they couldn’t get much closer until he got her naked and then he planned on being as close as two people could be. Pulling away, Link brought his hands to the bottom of her shirt and in one quick move, had it up, over her head, and flying through the air in seconds flat.
His gaze dropped to her tits, and fuck him, she had to be wearing the sexiest bra he’d ever seen. Black sheer lace pushed her boobs up into a mouthwatering bundle. Pulling the cups down to showcase his treasure, Link cupped one in his hand, bringing his mouth to the other. Damn, she had to be at least a D cup and all real. He loved the feel and weight of them in his hand and damn, the pert little nipple in his mouth made his dick weep. Her moans and grip on his head only made him harder.
Thinking of his dick, he hated to do it, but he had to release her breast. Popping the button on his jeans helped release some of the pressure and bought him some time. His nuts were so tight, he was afraid he would blow like a fucking teenager getting his first piece. Dropping to his knees, he placed his hands on her hips, pulling her body to his mouth. Tracing his finger around the waistband on her pants, he teased her, adding his mouth, giving her little kisses and nips.
Carri’s hands moved to the catch on her pants, but Link brushed them away. This was his show, he would get there when he wanted. Her
groan of disappointment made him smile. It didn’t take long until he was the one who was frustrated and needed more. He quickly undid her pants, pushing them and her thong down her legs, letting his finger linger on the soft, smooth skin, bringing his hands up the back of her legs until he was cupping her ass.
Link pressed his mouth to her pussy, licking her, parting her along the way. Damn, she tasted so fucking good. Link felt one of her hands land on his head and tangle in his hair, pulling him closer to her heat. When she lifted her leg and placed it over his shoulder, he wanted to do yell halleluiah or do a fist bump because at that moment, her cunt ruled him.
Link circled her clit before pushing his tongue inside her. So goddamn wet. Plunging his finger into her, he continued to flick and suck on her clit, pushing her closer and closer to release. When she stopped breathing, and her grip on his hair became painful, he knew she was close. Adding another finger, he delved harder and deeper. Carri started to shudder, moving her hips in sync with his fingers, grinding against him. She cried out his name; he fucking loved the sound of it on her lips.
Link stood up and started to undress, but Carri wasn’t standing by passively, adding her own hands to the task, frantically tearing at them until they were a heap on the floor. Looking at her, Link knew what he wanted and needed. Picking her up he tossed her onto his bed; she landed with a giggle, but the look in her eyes was pure lust.
“I need your cunt, Carri,” Link said, stroking his cock. Laying back on the bed, she brought her legs up, bending her knees, opening for him to see everything she had to offer.
“Then take it, Link.”
Link didn’t have to be told twice. Crawling onto the bed, he situated himself between her spread legs. Kissing her roughly, the greedy way she kissed him back spurred him on. Grabbing a condom from the nightstand, leaning back on his legs to put it on. Her eyes watched his every move, making the slight touch of his own hand painful because of how hard she had him.
