Becoming Faith (JackholeS Book 3) Page 6

“Fuck,” D mumbled behind me. He turned and walked up the stairs, slamming the door when he reached his room.

“Pick her up and have Gunther take her to the hospital.” Lissa got up and brushed off her knees. “Where are the others?” Lissa asked, watching Chester struggle trying to pick up the now passed out vomiter.

Van, Jet, and Kill helped Chester when his legs started to wobble.

“I’ve got her. You go make sure D’s okay,” Kill told Van, taking the limp female and turning around.

“Go get the rest of your band, Chester. Meet me in the study in ten minutes,” Lissa ordered, rubbing the bridge of her nose.

A giggle burst out behind us. We turned to see Bailey with her hand on Gram’s bare arm.

“Gram, get the hell in the study now,” Lissa said, giving them both an appalled look before stomping toward the study. “Ten minutes,” she yelled, slamming the door.

“Gram, stop fucking around. I’ll get the rest of the band,” Chester said, walking out to the backyard in search for his bandmates.

“I think I’m in trouble,” Gram said to Bailey with a wink.

She giggled again, her hand still placed on his arm.

“I need to go check on D. He doesn’t like being around drugs.” Van didn’t spare Bailey a passing glance as he hurried upstairs.

Kill came back in. His eyes rounded in shock when he saw Bailey practically draped over Gram. He skirted around them and stood next to me, Jet, and Amy.

“I better go.” Gram stepped away from Bailey.

She stuck her bottom lip out in a repulsive pout.

“Seriously, get some respect,” Amy added loudly.

Bailey’s head snapped toward Amy, rolling her eyes.

“Don’t get jealous, babe,” Gram countered. His eyes roamed over her body with a leer. “Damn, look at you two.” He glanced between me and Amy, licking his chapped lips.

Kill growled, but when I made a gagging sound, he laughed. Gram’s attempt to seduce me from Kill was pathetic. Before Kill could say anything, Jet stepped in front of us.

“You leave these girls alone. I don’t give a fuck what you do with that one.” He motioned toward Bailey, glaring at him. “But these two, don’t even fucking look at them.”

I’d never heard Jet’s voice sound so menacing.

Amy reached out and placed her hand on Jet’s back. She moved it up and down, trying to soothe his rapid breathing.

“Hey, I can’t stop them if they come to me,” Gram said, running his hands over his chest.

Bailey’s eyes traveled with his hands, her tongue darting out to wet her overly glossed lips.

“Yeah, they’re going to have to hold me back,” I scoffed, making Kill laugh.

“Babe, he’s not worth it. I’d never stoop so low as that. You know you’re my man. And you know Faith isn’t going anywhere. Don’t let him get to you.” Amy let her hand travel up Jet’s back to settle on his shoulder.

“What the fuck ever. I have to get my lecture for being a bad boy.” Gram moved around us, but not before letting his eyes connect with Amy’s body and slithering to mine.

Kill moved from beside me. I grabbed his hand, stopping him from whatever he was about to do. His eyes blazed with anger. I launched up on my tiptoes and kissed him. Kill’s hands automatically landed on my ass, pulling me closer to him in order to deepen the kiss. My hands gripped his hair, keeping him in place, Gram forgotten.

Someone cleared their throat, reminding us we had an audience. “I think you both made your point,” Jet said with a smirk. His arms were wrapped around Amy’s waist, securing her to his front.

“Dude, I’ve never seen you get all territorial like that.” Kill put his hand out for a high five.

Jet high fived him and quickly put his arms back around Amy. “I didn’t like the way he was looking at them.”

“You were hot,” Amy said, snuggling deeper into his chest.

“Thank you for defending my honor,” I told him, giving him a wink.

“Asshole needs to realize I’m the only one allowed to make inappropriate comments to you two.” Jet kissed Amy on the top of the head, like he needed to ensure she was with him. “Thanks for the backup.” Jet looked at Kill.

Kill laughed, his arm holding me to him. “You were doing a good job by yourself. Besides, I wasn’t worried about him stealing our girls away. Did you see the food left in his beard?” Kill grimaced.

“Yes, I saw that. So sexy. What are we going to tell Van?” I asked, noticing Bailey was nowhere to be found.

Jet saw me looking for Bailey. “She took off when you two were pissing on each other’s leg. There is nothing we can do. Van won’t listen to us, and technically she didn’t do anything wrong.”

I opened my mouth to argue. To me, running your hand over someone else’s body when you have a boyfriend was very wrong.

Jet stopped me before I could voice my opinion. “She’ll fuck up soon. She’s already started. Van needs to get rid of her on his own, without us telling him what to do. He needs to get his man card back after Jessie stole it.”

“All right, but if I catch her, I’m not going to hold my tongue,” I told him so he understood. I wasn’t going to let her screw Van over any more than she already was.

“Deal,” Jet said, putting out his hand for another high five. His body was more relaxed. His grip on Amy seemed to slack.

I high fived him and looked down at the congealing puddle of vomit we were standing next to.

“Ewww, I forgot about that,” Amy said, running across the room.

“Wanna watch a movie in our room?” Jet asked, following Amy away from the trashed living area.

“Uhmmm, why don’t you guys come to ours?” I said, remembering Jet’s comment about their sex toy strewn hotel room.

“Good idea,” Amy answered as we made it upstairs to our room.

  Chapter 6

“I can’t believe my stupid purse broke,” Amy muttered when we came into the house.

“We could have bought you a knockoff,” I told her, watching her stroke her broken strap.

“Nah, the boys will be home soon. I was ready to come home.”

“Yeah, I was too. I want to stash my stuff before they get back,” I told her, about to sprint up the stairs. Before my foot could hit the third step, I heard a very distinct sound.

I turned on the step to see Amy motionless where I’d left her. Her mouth was open in a shocked O.

  “That’s not,” I whispered.

Amy put her finger to her lips to quiet me. I snuck down the stairs, and together we tiptoed into the living area. The noise grew louder. Amy signaled me to follow her. We moved down the hall to the study Lissa had dragged the members of Cockfight in last night. The door was slightly ajar. I crowded behind Amy, already knowing what we were going to see.

Not to disappoint, Bailey was on the bright red rug, straddling Gram. She was riding him while he squeezed her boobs to the point it looked painful. I closed my eyes, blocking out the sight.

It wasn’t until I heard the study door swing open that I realized Amy was not going to let this go. “You fucking slut,” Amy screamed.

Bailey cried out, leaning over Gram to hide herself.

“Hey, sexy. Don’t worry, you’ll get your turn,” Gram replied to Amy. Gram threw his arms behind his head, unconcerned he had another guy’s girl encased around his dick.

“If kicking your nasty ass is what I’m in line for, then I’m all for it,” Amy said before putting her fury back on Bailey. “Don’t play fucking innocent. I’m sure everyone has seen those fake ass tits. No need to hide them from us.”

Bailey sat up straight. She was still straddled over Gram, and he seemed to be enjoying the show. “Whatever, I just wanted to have a little fun. Van couldn’t handle me.” She finally got off Gram and pulled on her shorts and shirt that were strewn across the room.

“You’re right. I couldn’t handle you. I suggest packing your shit and get
ting the hell out of here,” Van said, startling us. His arms were stretched across the door, holding on to the doorframe. Jet, Kill, and D were behind him.

“Whatever,” Bailey responded, tossing her hair over her shoulder.

“Can you please cover up that shriveled piece of flesh you call a dick?” Van said to Gram, who still hadn’t moved from the floor.

“I was just waiting to see if any of your other girls wanted a ride,” he answered, getting up and grabbing his jeans.

“You motherfucker,” Jet screamed from behind Van. D and Kill held him back.

“As if.” Amy voiced my sentiments.

“Do you want to go back to your room and finish what they interrupted?” Bailey asked, rubbing her hand down Gram’s naked chest.

“Hell yeah baby. I’ve got to hurry, though. I have to meet Lissa soon.”

Bailey’s eyes narrowed at the mention of being blown off for Lissa. Gram didn’t seem to care. He grabbed her ass and led her out of the study.

Van moved to let them pass. “I suggest getting your shit out of my room, now. Unless you want me to get rid of it for you.”

“Fine, I’ll just put my stuff in Gram’s room,” she said, not bothering to look at Van.

“Whoa, now, I don’t think that’s such a good idea.” Gram pulled his hand off her ass.

“What the fuck do you mean?” Bailey screamed at him.

“You idiot. He just wanted a warm hole. You didn’t expect to ride him to the top of fame, did you?” Amy bent over, laughing.

“Gram, baby,” Bailey said, rubbing her tits against his chest.

“Sorry,” he told her. He removed her from him and headed up to his side of the house, alone.

“This is priceless,” Amy said, leaning on Jet.

“Ahhhhh,” Bailey screamed, running up to our side of the house. Hopefully to collect her things.

“I better go check to make sure she doesn’t do anything stupid.” Jet pulled a giggling Amy along with him. “Sorry, man,” he said to Van when they walked by.

“I was expecting it to happen. No worries. Make sure she doesn’t take my stuff.”

“You’ve got it,” Jet told him, kissing him on the cheek.

“What do you want to do, Van?” D asked, coming up and putting his hand on his massive shoulder.

“What do you mean?” Van peered at the wall, avoiding eye contact.

“Well, Lissa’s pretty fed up with Gram and the rest of the Cockfights. I’m sure we can get them kicked out of the house. You say the word,” D explained.

“Nah, they’re just dumb guys. Bailey was going to do something like this eventually. Better now than when we drop the album,” Van replied.

I moved away from Kill and gave Van a bear hug. This would have never happened, if Jessie had pulled her head out of her ass and accepted that she was in love with a drummer. I wanted to scream at her, but she didn’t answer my calls. I stopped trying to reach her after I changed my number. Jessie’s absence left a hole in my heart, but Van was destroyed without her. Van put his chin on the top of my head.

“Are you going to be okay, Mr. Snuggles?”

He took a deep breath, ruffling the hair on the top of my head. “Yeah, sis. I’ll be okay. She wasn’t the one.”

I squeezed him one more time before letting go. Kill was right behind me and dragged Van into a man hug. “Come on, let’s go get something to eat.”

“I’m not really hungry,” Van replied, pounding Kill on the back with his fist.

“I don’t care. We’re going to go out and getting something to eat,” Kill told him.

Van opened his mouth, probably to decline, but I jumped in. “Come on, Mr. Snuggles. I’m starving. Amy made me walk all over Hollywood today. I’ll tell you the story of her getting in a fight with Superman.”

“Oh, shit. I have to hear this,” D said behind me.

“All right. Can we just stay in here until she leaves?” Van asked, plopping down on one of the leather recliners.

“Yeah, that’s a good idea.” Kill sat down on a matching recliner and pulled me down on his lap.

D moved over to the desk and leaned on it. He stared at Van with a blank expression. Van noticed him and gave him a weak smile.

“This doesn’t prove anything, D. There are good women out there. Relationships can work. Don’t use this to prove your weird point about men and women not being able to stay together,” Van told D.

“Well, it’s harder when you’re about to be famous,” Lissa said, walking into the study.

“Lissa,” Kill warned her she needed to tread carefully, with just a word.

“Sorry, Killian, but I’ve seen it many times. People transform when you’re about to make it big. They start seeing you as a means to get ahead in life, instead of the person they once knew. It’s highly unlikely for a couple to withstand the pressure of fame,” she said, coming farther into the room.

“There are plenty of couples that last. You may not have seen it before, but you have no idea what you’re talking about when it comes to us,” Kill told her, gripping my legs.

“Couples that last, only last because they come to some sort of mutual agreement. One where they both assist the other in getting what they want. Look at any famous couple. They support the other’s efforts to further themselves in the industry. It has nothing to do with love. Just two people wanting to get ahead in life and seeing an opportunity.” She leaned on the chair Van sat on and crossed her legs.

“Man, I feel sorry for you. You have either been burned really bad before, or you have some weird fucked up story where you just cannot believe in love.” Kill shook his head, staring at her with pity in his eyes.

“Lissa, you need to get those boys in check,” D said, moving the subject out of the uncomfortable territory.

“Do you want me to find them new placement?” she asked D, standing up straight, back to business.

“No, they can stay. I knew Bailey was a fame seeking whore from the start. This was expected. As long as they stay out of our side of the house and don’t trash the place. I hate feeling like we need to be stuck in our rooms when we’re here. I don’t see why you would need to trouble yourself,” Van explained.

Lissa stared at him for a moment, her eyes taking on an excited shine I didn’t understand. “I’ll make sure they’re on their best behavior.” Her attention was still trained on Van’s massive frame.

“And no drugs,” D added, getting Lissa’s attention off Van. “I told you before we signed. I didn’t want to be around drugs. That girl overdosing last night was the one and only chance I’ll give you.”

“I completely understand. It won’t happen again. Thank you guys for being so understanding,” Lissa said.

“We aren’t the typical rockstars, like we said. We just want to make music and be happy,” Kill told her, kissing the back of my head.

“Understood,” Lissa replied. It looked like she was restraining from rolling her eyes. “I need to go talk to Gram and the rest of the Cockfight guys. Please let me know if there’s anything you need.”

“Actually, there’s one thing. Could you have Gunther drive Bailey to the airport? Also, if you could get her a plane ticket back to Portland, I would appreciate it. Just let me know how much it is and I’ll reimburse you.” Van stared at his interlocked hands between his thighs as he spoke.

“I can do that. I’ll get you the bill as soon as I can.” Lissa turned around and walked out of the study to inform Gunther of his extricating duties.

“The whore has left the building,” Jet cried, walking in with his arm around Amy.

We all looked at Jet with wide eyes. He must have realized what he said was pretty fucking insensitive, because he let go of Amy and ran up to Van, sitting on his lap and hugging him tight.

“You okay, big guy?” Jet asked, rubbing Van’s bald head.

Van laughed and pushed Jet off, making him land on the rug. “Yeah, I’m fine. I just feel like an idiot.”

&n
bsp; “Don’t, we’ve all been pussy stupid at one point in our lives,” Jet told him, getting off the ground.

“Did she give you any problems?” Van asked.

“Nah, she tried to throw attitude, but I wouldn’t let her. I told her if she kept up her shit, I would pack her stuff myself, and she would need to get an E-pay account to buy it back,” Amy told him, coming over and rubbing Van’s shoulders.

“It was fucking awesome,” Jet said as we all laughed at Amy’s sense of justice. “We love you, big guy. Now let’s go get something to eat.” Jet pulled Van off the chair and out the door.

“Wait, Gunther’s gone,” I said when we walked outside, and I noticed the van wasn’t in the driveway. “Should we wait for him?”

“Nah, let’s go.” Jet jingled a set of keys in his hand.

“Where did you get those?” D hissed as we made our way to another van parked on the side of the house.

“Relax, we’ll bring it back in one piece,” Jet told him, unlocking the doors.

D hung back while we waited to see what he would do.

“Come on, D. Van needs us,” Jet said, starting the engine.

“Text Lissa and let her know we’re taking the van to get something to eat. That way she knows we aren’t going on some joy ride,” Kill intervened, leaning out and pulling D into the van.

D finally relented and allowed Kill to pull him the rest of the way in. When he buckled his seatbelt, Jet put the van in gear, not giving him time to change his mind.

“Are you going to text her?” I asked D.

“Nah, we’re rockstars. She’ll understand,” D answered, rubbing Van’s head.

Jet stepped on the brakes before pulling out onto the street. “That’s my fucking boy right there. To rockstars,” Jet screamed as we all cheered.

Kill and Van pounded D on the back, and Jet took off down the road.

At dinner Van surprised me by laughing along with us. He didn’t let it show he’d just found his girlfriend banging some wannabe rockstar on an expensive gaudy rug.

“Faith promised me a story about you and Superman,” Van said to Amy.
