He was here to kill me.

The man lunged at me and grabbed my shoulder. He hadn’t recovered from his injuries as I easily slipped through his hands and fell backwards. I screamed as my head hit the side of a pillar. Pain shot through my head as I started to see double. That’s when people noticed all the commotion and began panicking and yelling. With my vision blurring, I saw the man pull out a knife from his pocket. I feared that my life was over there and then.

Soon, I saw a burst of grey sweep in front of me. Before I knew it, one of my attackers had fallen to the floor with an expression of abject pain on his face. A towering man stood before as a living barrier before my assailants.

  It was Ben.

One after another, the two men attacked Ben in unison. However, the bouncer easily dodged their ineffectual punches and counter by elbowing one in the stomach and delivering a kick to the leg of the other. With casual ease, he threw both of them to the side. They landed with loud thud next to a table before whimpering in agony.

Another man attacked Ben but his attacks were easily deflected. The bouncer grabbed the man’s wrist and put his leg behind his attacker. With one fluid sweeping motion, he sent the man crashing head first onto the floor. Another swift punch was all it took for Ben to knock him out for good.

That was all it took for the rest of the men to scatter. However, the bandaged man remained behind to stare at us. He lifted his fists up and began to engage Ben. I could sense there was some history between these two men. Brandishing a knife, the bandaged man had the advantage against the unarmed bouncer.

After the Party (BWWM/Interracial Erotic Romance Novelette)

When he uncovered my eyes, I gasped in shock.

There was a small table with lit candlestick on it. A brand new bottle of wine stood next to it. There were two plates near a gourmet cheese wheel that just begged to be cut and eaten.

I raised an eyebrow at the romantic setup. “You had this with you all this time?”

Frank shrugged. “I have to keep some things on hand in case we have an important client stop by. You like it?”

It was certainly a nice way to end the New Year. “I love it. Where’d you keep the table?”

“I borrowed it from the break room. I’m sure we’ll make better use of it.”

The lawyer turned on a nearby television which showed the ball drop. It was more for the audio than the actual visuals. We drank sweet wine and ate mellow cheese as if we were some couple vacationing in Paris. It felt straight out of some cheesy romance movie on Netflix.

Soon, it became time to begin the New Year. Standing up from the table, we began to countdown in unison.

  “Five.”

  “Four.”

  “Three.”

  “Two.”

  “One.”

Frank leaned and whispered into my ear. “Happy New Year, Jean.”

With that, we kissed. I didn’t know who initiated it but I don’t think either of us wanted to end it anytime soon. I felt he did it because he wanted to give me a New Year’s kiss. I did it because I was falling in love with him.

Flight or Fight (BWWM/Interracial Erotic Romance)

The earrings were so beautiful. I hastily cleaned the condensation off a mirror to see how I looked. I loved to look at myself try on something new and see Jake smiling over my shoulder. I’d like to say I was not a vain woman but, dammit, I loved a nice piece of jewelry.

That’s when I turned to embrace Jake. I missed him so damn much. While his breath was still, I heard his heart thunder against my ear. I felt his arms wrap around me and complete our embrace. I didn’t know how much time we had left but I would make the most of it.

We had to take the next step.

Jake picked me up into his arms before taking me out of the bathroom. He headed towards the bed and gently placed me on it. I felt as light as a doll in his strong arms. The foreplay session was over as he took charge.

The linen bed sheets felt soft as much as his skin felt hard. The pillows had a soft, satiny feel to them. Thankfully, the bed didn’t seem to creak from our movements. Hopefully, we wouldn’t be overheard.
