When we get to my car I giggle as he tries to fit his big body into my little KA, I take pity on him and push the chair back as far as it will go. He manages to get in but it’s still a tight squeeze.
He takes in my home town as I take the scenic route home.
“Wow, it’s really beautiful here.” I smile and glance at him quickly, I still can’t believe he’s really here.
“It’s called the Emerald Isle for a reason.” I laugh as I pull into my street. I’m about to reverse park when the pompous twat next door pulls in and nearly takes out me feckin bumper. I slam on the breaks and rip my seatbelt off. “Gimme a sec,” I say through gritted teeth and kick my door open. I have had enough of the dickhead, he will not do this today of all days.
“What the fuck are you doing? You nearly took out me bumper, you fuckin eejit,” I yell losing my shite right there in front of all and sundry.
“Agh, fuck off. I wasn’t even close to that hunk of junk.”
“If I hadn’t slammed my brakes on you woulda taken out the back of me car.”
“Stop overreacting, I didn’t hit your little car so chill out.”
“Chill out? Move that piece of shite outa me parking space before I call the cops to come and tow the thing,” I say and turn back towards my car, seeing Leo leaning against the side of my car his eyebrow cocked and an amused smirk on his face makes my face heat.
“Bitch.”
The smirk drops off Leo’s face as the douche opens his mouth.
“Watch your fuckin’ mouth.” Leo barks, his expression thunderous as he advances on douchebag. Leo shoots the twat a death glare and the bloke about shits himself and hastily jumps in his car and squeals away down the street.
I thought Leo was hot before, that is nothing compared to him angry, I shiver at the power rolling off him. Mmm, an alpha.
Parking my car quickly I lead the way inside, my cosy house is warm and welcoming. I smile pleased with what I accomplished in a few hours.
As soon as the door closes I feel his presence behind me warming me. Tension tightens my muscles, just being this close to him throws me off, I want to jump into his arms and maul him.
“It’s beautiful, very you,” he comments breaking my thoughts. His bag hits the floor with a thud, I turn in time to see him shuck his coat.
“Very me?” I ask, taking his jacket and hanging it next to mine, trying to take my mind off the tension tightening like a coil in my belly.
“Yeah, small but cute and comfortable.”
“I don’t think I’ve ever been called comfortable before,” I reply laughing.
“I am very comfortable with you,” he whispers, his voice thick and rough.
“I like that,” I murmur and grab his bag. He makes a disapproving noise in his throat. “Ladies don’t carry bags.”
I hold my hands up in surrender and smile. “Okay, this way…I er, only have one bedroom, I don’t know how you feel…” I stutter stumbling over my words like an inarticulate eejit.
“Kaitlyn.” I stop and look up at him.
“You don’t need another bedroom,” he replies simply, his eyes flaring with heat.
I nod and lead him upstairs after showing him the amenities, I leave him to freshen up and go downstairs into the kitchen and flick on the kettle. Tea, the solution to all problems.
I don’t know how long I’ve been standing there staring out over my back garden but I jump when a pair of strong arm slide around me from behind.
“Mmm, I have dreamt of doing just this,” he whispers into my neck, breathing me in.
“Me too, and so many other things,” I whisper shutting my eyes and leaning into him. I feel so small but protected with his big body behind me.
“I think you need to boil that again,” he whispers, his lips grazing my ear, I sigh snuggling back into him. “Later, Tesoro.” He steps back leaving me cold and wanting more.
“Tea,” I say to myself trying to distract myself. “Do you want coffee?” I ask busying myself unpacking the espresso maker I bought just for him.
“You didn’t have to go to any trouble just for me,” he says taking the pot from my hands and expertly setting it all up. “Wouldn’t want you to burn yourself again.”
I laugh, my hands going to my hips. “That was one time and it was all your fault.”
“How was it my fault? I wasn’t even on the phone.”
“I may have been distracted, my mind on things they shouldn’t have been.”
“Really? Well, I’ll take full responsibility then,” he smiles.
“Okay, moving on,” I laugh. “Are you hungry?”
“Mmm, yes.” I laugh again. “You’re incorrigible. I meant for real food.”
“That too.”
“What do you fancy?” I ask opening the fridge, hoping he picks something simple, like toast.
“You gonna cook for me, baby?” He asks leaning against the work surface and crosses an ankle over the other.
“Er, sure?”
He laughs and pours his coffee. “I remember you telling me something about not knowing how.”
“I, er. I can follow a recipe,” I say and whisper “I think” to myself.
“I tell you what why don’t we just have a sandwich for now. I’m not in the mood for a big meal.”
I nod grabbing everything for sandwiches, I can do sandwiches without killing him on his first day.
I like having him here, my house feels full with his presence, homey.
“Do you want to grab some water from the fridge?” I ask grabbing our plates.
I laugh as he sits down on my sofa, it looks more like a single seat with his big body relaxed on it. I hesitate unsure if I’ll fit on it with him. He smiles and shifts over as much as possible; patting the small space beside him.
“Maybe I should have gotten a bigger sofa too,” I say and we laugh. I squeeze in beside him, when I say beside I mean half my body on his lap.
He settles an arm around me pulling me back into his chest. “I love this sofa,” he says and takes a huge bite out of his sandwich.
Unsure how to reply I stay quiet but my body agrees one hundred percent, it’s been a long time since I’ve enjoyed intimacies like this.
“So, what’s on the agenda while I’m here?” He asks after swallowing his last bite.
“Erm,” I mumble covering my mouth with my hand as I hurry to finish chewing. “I thought I could show you around, then thought I’d take you to see Belfast Castle and Cave hill, that’s if you enjoy hiking?”
“That sounds…fun. I could do with some exercise,” he says, smiling at me.
“Okay then, do you have a decent pair of shoes?” I ask, but stop when I feel his chest shaking behind me. “Oh, oh…” I whisper realizing what he was referring to.
“Yeah, I think I promise something along the lines of; when I came here you wouldn’t be spending much time outside of the bedroom.”
“Mmm,” I moan squeezing my thighs together. “That sounds even better,” I sigh, discarding my half-eaten sandwich. “So, when do you plan on enforcing this promise?” I ask my voice lowing sexily.
“Whenever you want me,” he whispers in my ear. “I’ve thought about getting my hands on you for weeks.”
“So, what are you waiting for?”
“You.” I smile turning fully in to him, running my palm along his jaw I comb my fingers through his thick hair, my eyes flick between his eyes and his parted lips. He groans, pulling me firmly against his chest, my breathing changes as my head descends on his, my eyes close in anticipation, I’m dying to taste that mouth, those lips.
Just as our lips are about to touch I feel a shock of pain across my cheekbone. “Ow,” I yell holding my face. I glare at Mr. Willy for ruining our moment.
“I don’t think he likes sharing,” Leo whispers, as Mr. Willy pushes between our bodies and curls into a ball, putting an end to our attempted first kiss.
Chapter 14
leo
“You just want to get to know
Leo, right Mr. Willy?” Kaitlyn says as she pets the evil ball of fur between us.
“Well, I didn’t come all this way to get to know him.” I say as I attempt to remove the evil thing from between our bodies. He hisses at me and I back off.
“Aw, you’re hurting his feelings.”
“Me?” I protest.
“You hurt him with your words Leo, I’m sure he’ll warm up to you.”
“Great,” I mutter.
Kaitlyn looks up at me with those mesmerizing emerald eyes of hers and I can’t help but to smile.
She smiles back. “I still can’t believe you’re here.”
“I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to spend Valentine’s day with you.”
A huge yawn escapes me. The long travel and the few hours of sleep I’ve had over the past few days is finally catching up with me.
“Shite, I’m sorry. You must be exhausted.” Kaitlyn stands from the couch. “Come on, off to bed you go Mr.”
I laugh at her serious expression. Yes, I might be tired, but I’m not about to waste a single moment that I could be with Kaitlyn for sleep. Although…
“You know what? Going to bed isn’t a bad idea,” I say standing from the couch. “As long as you’re joining me.”
Kaitlyn’s fair skin tints with an adorable shade of pink and I smirk at her. She’s adorable.
“Well, uh, yeah, I guess. Since I only have one bed.”
“Relax, baby,” I take her face between my hands. “I understand if you feel uncomfortable about having me in your bed. I told you I’m perfectly okay with staying down here on the couch.”
She shakes her head no. “I don’t want you staying down here. I’m just nervous.”
“Don’t be, there’s no reason.” I state.
“Okay, come along then.” She says leading me upstairs.
Once we’ve both freshened up, we climb into her bed. The thing is tiny, so I pull her closer and I smile at how perfectly she fits in my arms. And that somehow, I always knew she would.
“Are you trying to make me fall asleep?” she asks.
Without noticing I’ve started to run my fingers through her hair, I smile and start to massage her head. “Maybe. Is it working?”
“Mmhm,” she murmurs.
“Can I ask you something?”
“Apart from the question you’re already asking?”
I chuckle. “I had that one coming. Yes, another question besides that one.”
“Yeah, ask away.”
“Why did you say yes to me coming to visit? Weren’t you worried I was some sorta psycho?”
“I probably worried a little bit.” I can feel the vibrations of Kaitlyn giggling on my chest and a shiver runs up my spine.
Her head rises and she looks at me, smiling. “But somehow I knew you wouldn’t hurt me.”
My chest tightens at her words. Before I can say anything, she rests her head back on top of me and sighs.
“I was engaged too,” she blurts out.
“What?”
“I was engaged once. It was a few years back.”
Shit, I know I don’t have the right too but I can’t help but feel jealous at the fact she was engaged to another man. I fight to compose myself. “What happened?”
She stays silent for a moment before answering.
“He cheated on me with my own sister.”
“Christ. Kaitlyn, I’m so sorry.” I pull her in closer. Tighter.
“I thought he cared about me, that he...that he loved me. But he didn’t, he and my sister were seeing each other behind my back for over a year.”
Taking her chin and tilting her head so I can see her eyes, I ask. “Are you okay? You don’t have to talk about this if it hurts you.”
“I’m okay. It still hurts, but not because I had feelings for him.”
“Tell me why.” I ask curiously.
“My family didn’t want me to break the engagement, they said I was being a fool and that every couple goes through a rough patch a time or two. That everything was going to be fixed.”
“You gotta be fuckin’ kidding me.” I blurt out, not being able to understand how they could say this to her. Her own family.
“Nope, and when I broke it off they disowned me. That was the day I lost my family.”
“I’m so sorry, baby. They don’t deserve you.” I say honestly.
“It’s okay. I learned that family isn’t always the one you’re born into, sometimes family comes in a form of a best friend who lives on the other side of the world.”
“That’s true.”
“Well, your family is pretty great from what you’ve told me,” she giggles.
“Yes, they are. I’m very lucky.” I don’t dare say more, especially not what I’ve been thinking of confessing since I told her about Peyton.
We fall into a comfortable silence, Kaitlyn’s breathing becomes slow and I know she’s falling asleep. I squeeze my eyes shut. I feel like shit. She’s opened up to me and I haven’t been completely honest with her.
“Kaitlyn?” I whisper, but she doesn’t answer, she’s sound asleep.
“Kaitlyn, I would never hurt you.” I say kissing her head.
I know I’m a selfish asshole, but I can’t tell her, not yet. I want more, no, I need more time with her. It’s been long since I’ve felt this way for someone and I’m not ready to lose her, not yet.
Chapter 15
Kaitlyn
Opening my eyes slowly I smile, drawing in a deep breath I shiver, the all male smell that clings to Leo’s chest arouses me like nothing else. Yeah, it’s been a long dry spell, well not all dry but…you get my drift. His big arm pins me to his hard chest, and normally I’d be panicking trying to get free, but for the first time in years I’m calm and content to lie here, my body sprawled across his. There is no where I’d rather be.
I can't believe he's here. After lying there for a good fifteen minutes, my chin resting on his chest, I run my fingers through his soft hair and along his gorgeous face. He finally stirs.
“Mmm, morning,” he says, and smiles up at me sleepily.
“Good morning, did you sleep okay?” I ask, dying to run my lips along his defined chest.
“I haven’t slept that well in years, I had this dream that I travelled across the world to meet a beautiful woman. Then I woke up and realized it wasn’t a dream,” he breaths, looking deeply into my eyes. Swoon!
“I woke to you snoring, seriously. You’re louder than Mr, Willy.” I joke and laugh at the look on his face.
In a flash I’m on my back, pinned to the bed with my hands on either side of my head. His weight is comforting, I want more, I squirm trying to unbalance him.
“I do not snore, loudly.” He protests, looming over me, his lips skim my neck, too lightly. I want him to devour me, I need him to.
“No, you don’t. But I had to get you on top of me somehow,” I say cheekily.
“Mmm, all you had to do was ask,” he whispers, letting go of my hands his find every dip and curve of my upper half as his lips scorch my neck and chest. I’m ready to burst, and moaning loudly in his ear. “Damn baby, you have me on the edge, I’m about ready to embarrass myself before I’ve even really done anything,” he groans as I grind my pelvis against his.
“Leo,” I sigh, dragging my nails across his scalp, before grasping handfuls of his hair.
“What do you need, baby?”
“Just you,” I moan, clenching my fingers in his hair, pulling his head to where I need him. Pulling my top up, he groans and opens his mouth ready to take in my aching flesh, when my phone rings loudly. We both freeze, looking at each other. I pant wanting to ignore it, and carry on with what was quickly becoming one of the best mornings of my life. When it stops ringing I sigh in relief, I pull Leo’s face toward mine, just as it rings again. I growl and let go of his hair.
“Is it okay if I take a quick shower while you answer that?” Leo asks, his face is flushed with exertion. I nod, not trusting my voice,
whoever it is on that phone is gonna get an arse whooping.
I watch as he gets up and walks into my bathroom in nothing more than a thin, tight pair of black boxers.
I groan running my hands through my hair, cockblocked twice! When my phone rings for the third time I snatch it off the bedside table and growl. “Hello.”
“Well, good morning to you too,” Brooke sings.
“What’s so important?” I ask, unable to hide the edge in my voice.
“You will never guess what just happened to me.” She squeals excitedly.
“I’m listening.” I say as the shower turns on. The image of Leo standing beneath the hot spray water sluicing down his hot body.
“Did you hear me?”
“Erm, sorry, what did you say?”
“I said, I got an email for a high profile job.”
“Wow, that’s fantastic Brooke.”
“You haven’t even heard the best bit yet…” I wait for her to elaborate but she is obviously waiting for me to ask, so I do.
“What’s the best bit?”
“The job is to photograph none other than Vin mother-fucking DeLorenzo.”
“Wow, he’s pretty big then?”
“From what I hear he is,” she snickers.
“Oh, feck. I walked right into that one.” I chuckle as Brooke laughs hysterically. “What I meant was he’s a top model or whatever you guys call them?”
“Oh yeah, one of the biggest.” She snickers again and I sigh. It’s like talking to a teenager sometimes.
“Well, I’m happy for you.”
“Oh shit. I forgot Leo was there. Did I interrupt you two doing the horizontal bop?”
“No, well sort of. You would have if you’d been a few minutes later.”
“Sorry, I er, I’m gonna go and let you do…him,” she laughs at her own joke.
“Okay, well enjoy Vin whatever his name is.”
“DeLorenzo.”
“Yep, him too. Bye.”
“Bye, have fun riding the Italian stallion.” I don’t reply I just hang up smiling like an eejit.
“Umm, Kaitlyn. Can you come here a sec?” Leo calls from the bathroom and I realize the shower has stopped running.
