"She rides?" she asked. "How old is she?"
Kurt said, "Uh, I guess around fifty two. Dad's fifty seven years old."
She smiled. "That's cool. You know, that they still ride motorcycles."
"Ride til you die," Kurt whispered.
She put the cap on the bottle, needing more of what made him into the man sitting in front of her, bloody and in pain. "What about your mom?"
He moved to stand up, but she put her hands on his wrist stopping him. "She gave us—Lee and me— to dad full time after causing some bad business to go down, and doesn't want to be a part of my life, which is the way I want it."
"Oh." She blew gently on his hands, and then looked them over to make sure they were dry. "I'm sorry."
Kurt inhaled. "Yeah, well, we all carry shit around."
She opened a Band-Aid, and he stopped her. "You need to protect the wounds. You could get infection."
"I'm okay. I've had worse."
"Okay," she said, standing. "I'll put all this away."
"Wait." He stood. "It's killing me, angel."
She set the things on the floor and returned to him. "Your hands?"
"You. Me." He lifted his arms. "Put your arms around my waist."
She walked into his embrace and absorbed his shudder. Not expecting such a vulnerable reaction, she laid her head on his chest. His heart raced against her cheek. She'd never thought about the emotional baggage he brought with him, and it made her feel comforted to know she wasn't alone with her own messed up past when he was near.
"Do you get what I've been telling you all night?" he asked.
She nodded against him. "I know I was wrong about your intentions, and I'm sorry."
"I don't have pretty words to tell you how I'm feeling, I just know I'm not leaving this room tonight and if you have a problem with that, say so now," he said.
Oh, boy. She not only didn't have a problem, she wanted him to stay. "On one condition..."
Her head bounced against his rumbling chest, bringing her back to smiling.
He said, "What's that?"
"Will you kiss me?" she asked.
"Right." He kissed her when she looked up at him. "I'll do better than that, because I plan on having my cock inside of you now, later, during the night, and again in the morning, because angel, that's the only place I want to be, because it's the closest I can be to you."
His words penetrated the shock of all the changes Kurt brought with him and settled as a warm buzz low in her belly. She stepped away from him, gazing into his eyes, and toed off her shoes. He shrugged his arms out of his vest, folded the leather, and tossed it to the dresser. She moved forward, wanting to make undressing easier on him.
"Rest your hands," she whispered.
She removed his T-shirt, his belt, and unbuttoned his jeans. The whole while, she took in his body. Fit and hard, he had nothing soft about him, except his eyes. His eyes weren't always warm and inviting. She'd seen them when fire lit up his thoughts and the seriousness of a situation hit him. But it was those moments when they were alone, his guard came down, and he focused on her that brought out a different person than the rough biker that had rolled into Silver Girls.
A good man.
A better man.
She kneeled in front of him and unlaced his boots. His hand settled on the top of her head, lazily stroking her hair, and warmth heated her shoulders. She could tell he watched her every move without looking.
Always, no matter if they were around the others, in the bar, out on the street, or in her room, he was aware of what she was doing.
He lifted his foot, one at a time, and she pulled off his boots and peeled off his socks. She tugged on his jeans, and he kicked them off. In the process of straightening, she ran her hands up the length of his hard muscled thighs. Either he'd removed his boxers when he let his jeans fall or he went commando. It didn't matter, because he was bare in front of her.
His cock, hard and waiting, was available to her. She trailed her finger over the warm smooth length, wrapping her hand around the thickness. Kurt sucked in his breath. She lifted her gaze at the sound without letting go of him.
"You're beautiful," she whispered.
"Not beautiful, angel." A tender grin was her answer. "How about you get the condom out of my wallet?"
"I'm serious." She let go of him and retrieved his wallet. While he was busy, she removed her Tee. "There are men that you can look at and think they're handsome. They have the classical good looks with a straight nose, serious eyes, and a chin that's always set to a little too cocky. Then there are men that are average looking. Their looks might not grab you at first, but their personality makes them extra attractive."
"Not feeling like listening to you talk about other men." He pushed her hair over her shoulder as she leaned forward to remove her shorts.
"I'm not, I swear. The thing is that I've never seen a beautiful man until you rolled into my life," she said, removing her bra and panties. "You have an aura about you."
"A what?" he mumbled.
"An attitude." She nodded. "You don't give a shit about what other people think about you. Mix that with a gorgeous face, even though I believe you've broken your nose—"
"More than a few times," he said, rolling on the condom.
She moved closer and placed her hands on his chest. "That's what I'm saying. The way you've lived your life created you. You're a product of being a fighter, a biker, and you accept yourself. There are no excuses—to anyone— for who you are. You're confident and your ability to believe in yourself is beautiful to me."
He lowered his head and kissed her lips softly. "You got one thing wrong, angel."
"What?" She walked with him to the bed.
He lay down beside her, stretching out to his full height and laying his hand on her bare hip. "I give a shit about what my brothers think of me, and my family thinks of me, and what you think of me."
She gazed into his eyes, melting. Because Kurt was Kurt, she believed him. She also liked how he included her as important, right up there with the family he loved.
He lowered his mouth, wrapping his arms around her and rolling to his back. She straddled his hips while caressing his tongue. His hardness settled between her legs. She couldn't move or think.
She pressed her hips toward him. His cock slid between her legs. Warmth flooded her sex. Pleasure came with each thrust of her pelvis, and she continued rocking.
Kurt's fingers tightened on her hips, helping her move against him. She lowered her head. The closer she got to his body, the more she wanted.
"You keep that up, and I won't last." He brushed his mouth below her ear.
Her spine tingled at the touch of his breath against her neck. Then his tongue was on her skin. She threw her head back giving him more access. He licked in lazy swipes against the sensitive spot, sending wave after wave of pleasure to her core. Her legs and arms trembled. She pressed herself against his hardness. Her body sang on good feelings.
His hand left her body and settled underneath her. She arched, lining up his cock and plunged down on him at the same time he thrust his hips off the bed. A moan came out of her. The act so shocking, so exciting, so fantastic, she held still while she adjusted to finally having him inside of her.
"Pure sugar, angel. You on top of me. Your weight pressing down, taking every inch," he whispered.
His hands spanned her hips, lifting her. She planted her palms on his chest and rose, and then let herself ease down on him. She tried to focus on his face with his eyes burning into hers, and had to fight the desire to close her eyelids and let herself combust. She didn't want to miss a second.
"Lean down," he said.
She moved her hands to the bed, one on each side of his head. He lifted his mouth, his tongue swiping her hard nipple. Her hips rose and fell on their own, taking up a natural rhythm and going with what made her feel good. His lips suctioned onto her breast. Her sex spasmed at the intensity of what he was doing to her.
>
His ass came off the bed, meeting her moves. She rocked back and forth. The wild sensations swirled in her body, and she reached for the pulse deep inside of her.
Kurt's mouth left her, and before she could grasp what he was doing next, he flipped her over onto her back. She stared up into his face, gasping for breath.
"First time for us, angel. Let's roll..." Then he showed her exactly what he meant.
Long, sure strokes and weight on her, fed a craving she'd been dying for since he rode into Federal. She clutched his shoulders, meeting each of his thrust. His eyes, hot and intense, burned into hers as his lips parted and he groaned his approval.
He pressed, circled, rubbed, and teased with only one part of his body. She raised her hands, reaching for the headboard of the bed and pressing her fingertips into the solid object. Her back arched with each plunge. God, what the man could do.
Spiraled tighter, hotter, and higher, she frantically reached for him. Her fingers dug into his biceps. The solid muscled arms braced and grounded her to the moment. She panted, unable to beg and plead for him to take her to climax.
His hooded eyes gazed down on her. "Come for me."
She couldn't stop if she wanted. Locking her ankles together, she stayed with him as he rode her. Each brush of his body against the aroused flesh of her sex caressed her until she burned in the most mind-blowing way. "Oh, God..."
In a rush of pleasure, her body froze on an ultimate high. Every muscle constricted, winding tight and holding her captive. She held her breath, arching against him. Seconds ticked by, suspended in ecstasy.
Kurt groaned, plunging into her bowed body and held himself still. Only when he shuddered inside of her did her body unwind in a catapulting array of pleasurable jolts.
"Mine...," he mumbled as his climax rocked his body.
She held on, absorbing his reaction, savoring her reaction, and amazed that together they came together. Sex in the past was never like this. With Kurt, the act itself brought her pleasure.
Never in a million years would anything beat having Kurt inside of her while he claimed her.
It was incredible.
It was unbelievable.
It was scary good.
"Can I ask you a question?" she whispered.
He grunted.
"Why do you have a skull with a red heart in the center beside your hip?" she asked.
Several seconds ticked by and finally, Kurt rolled to the side taking her with him. She laid her head against his chest. Her heart raced from the physical and emotional exertion. He wanted to walk into her life and change the way she lived. He had pretty words, even if they were bossy and unbending.
"The skull is hard and unforgiving like me. The heart represents the Bantorus women, and how they're the soul of every man in the club. I put the fragile and precious heart behind the skull to show my dedication in protecting our women," he said.
And even after what they shared together and how hopeful she was that they could spend their days and nights together, his explanation blew her away. She swallowed, knowing that she'd never be one of those women he loved. He cherished his life and honored Bantorus women. She was neither of those things.
There was nothing honorable about how Risa came into the world. She inhaled deeply and closed her eyes. Nothing she'd ever done would be tatted on Kurt's body. When the day came that Kurt decided he'd had his fun with her, she hoped her heart would still be intact, because this man, this biker, this beautiful person, had the ability to break her heart.
Chapter Fourteen
The rattle of the utility van pulling away from the club property grew quieter, until the windowless vehicle pulled out of sight. Kurt pivoted on his boot heel and walked back into the warehouse. Four large wooden crates sat against the back wall.
"Feels illegal," Ink said. "Running arms is dangerous business, bro."
Remmy stepped up beside Kurt. "Money in the pocket, man."
Kurt tossed the keys to Ink. "Lock it up tight. I want two men guarding the warehouse around the clock. I'm heading into Silver Girls."
"Got it, prez," Ink said.
Kurt walked out into the sunshine, slowing his steps to let Remmy catch up. When his VP was beside him, he said, "Everyone will be here tomorrow. Do you think the girls are ready to bring out here, and let them see what we're all about?"
"Yeah." Remmy chuckled. "They listen, and they're honest. Risa picked out women that are not only loyal to her, but they're smart. They know a good thing when they have it."
Kurt glanced at his MC brother. "You got more than good times going on with Monica?"
"Nah, man. I'm enjoying the good times like normal, and looking forward to having more women in the future." Remmy scratched the back of his neck. "What's going on with you and Risa? You've spent the last several nights up in her room."
He paused outside the club door. "Hell if I know where life is going, but right now, it's good. Damn good."
"No shit?" Remmy whistled. "Lucky bastard."
"No shit." He grinned. "Are you saying you're thinking about sticking with one woman?"
"Fuck no." Remmy slapped him on the shoulder. "I'm glad it's you and not me."
Kurt punched Remmy on the shoulder, ducked to the left when Remmy retaliated, and went inside the clubhouse feeling lighter than when he'd arrived in Federal. Things were coming together, and Federal was starting to feel more comfortable. As soon as their furniture and supplies came, and each man had their own bed, things were only moving forward.
Inside, the others lounged around the main area. He kicked Germ's boot off the bottom rung of the barstool. "Family's rolling in tomorrow. Take a couple of the guys and go get loaded up on food, drinks, and whatever else you can think of that we'll need around here. Cash is in my office. I'm heading to Silver Girls if anyone needs me."
"What for?" Sawyer hopped off the pool table.
Kurt nailed him with a look and left Sawyer's question unanswered. The kid was too curious and filled with hormones.
Sawyer stuck his hands in his front pockets. "I mean, if you're going there, I'll ride beside you...or behind you. You know, to have your back."
Sawyer's enthusiasm reminded him of Lee. For years, his brother tailed him and mimicked everything he did in the hope that he'd let Lee do things the older boys were doing. While he personally found a way to channel his erratic thoughts and hormones as a teenager with fighting, Lee strutted to his own path in life and continued chasing his dreams.
The only problem with that was nobody knew what Lee's dreams included. He was riding wild, and all attempts Kurt kept making to bring him back into the family fell on deaf ears.
"Yeah, follow me out." Kurt left the club and walked to his motorcycle.
He wasn't going to baby Sawyer. He sat on his bike, took note of Sawyer jumping on his, and started the engine. Under his guidance, Sawyer would settle down. He needed confidence, and there was no better way than to hang around the girls and let him mimic the actions of his MC brothers, and man up.
The breeze from the ride down the road brought sweet relief from the heat of midafternoon. His hair whipped off his forehead and neck, cooling him further. He pushed the speed on the last mile to town, enjoying the freedom. Back home, he would've been sweating wearing the required helmet.
He slowed, checked traffic coming off the viaduct, and crossed the intersection, taking the first right and going down Cedar Street. Adrenaline built inside of him.
Risa stood out on the sidewalk, leaning on a broom handle. He toed the bike into neutral, gunned the throttle, and watched her gaze turn toward him. Damn, he'd never seen a girl more gorgeous and giving.
He put the bike back in gear, and continued down the street, parking in front of the building. He cut the engine, but stayed on his bike.
Risa tilted her head, giving him a sweet smile full of secrets. She'd liked what they did last night. Now that his hands were healed, he'd shown her exactly what she could expect from his touch. He discov
ered every single spot on her, and then branded them on his fingertips and burned them in his mind.
She planted the broom in front of her and held the long handle in both hands. "Going my way?"
Sawyer pulled in beside him. He lifted his chin and motioned toward the building, and waited until Sawyer jogged past Risa—giving her a 'hey, how ya doing?' before pushing his way through the door.
"Come here," he said.
She laid the broom down and stepped off the sidewalk. His chest warmed. She moved with a softness that hypnotized him.
"You make me nervous when you look at me that way," she whispered beside him.
He hooked his finger with one of hers and pulled her closer, taking a kiss to ease wanting to taste her again. "Angel, I've been all over your body, slept with you since I practically rolled into town, and you're going to tell me you're nervous...now?"
She shrugged. "Have you ever wanted something so bad, you're afraid something or someone will take it away before you have a chance to succeed?"
More times than he wanted to count. Danger was always present. He'd watched Taylor taken from his life to return with fear in her eyes. He'd been a pawn in his mother's custody war. He fought his way to the top, knowing he'd rather die than not be president of his own club someday. Even now, he continued to worry about his brother and hoped he'd embrace the Bantorus MC and stop riding on his own.
"Yeah, angel." He curled his finger tighter around her. "Tell me what you're afraid of losing."
"Myself." She looked past him into the street. "I need closure, knowing I've erased any thought from people that I'm no better than my mother."
"Trust me, I'm not going to try and stop your desire to rebuild yourself," he said.
"Then you're going to let me strip in a couple of weeks?" she asked.
He swung his leg off his bike and stood. "One doesn't have much to do with the other. You're not taking your clothes off in front of anyone, but me."
She curled into him, hugging his waist. He leaned back to look at her face. It wasn't the first time she'd brought up the subject of stripping for the miners. She gave up too easily this time.
"What's really going on?" he asked.
