  Parrillo, Vincent

  Professor of Sociology at William Paterson University, Vincent is author of the historical novel Guardians of the Gate and a dozen college textbooks, as well as General Editor of the two-volume Encyclopedia of Social Problems. Writer, narrator, and producer of three PBS documentaries, his latest, The Sculptor Laureate of Paterson, premiered in April 2013. A Fulbright scholar and senior specialist, he has been a guest lecturer at dozens of universities in Asia, Europe, Canada, and the United States.

  Queeney, Tim

  In addition to writing books, Tim is a magazine editor, filmmaker, celestial navigation instructor, a dad, and an offshore sailor. He also writes a news satire site called Height of Eye (timqueeney.com) which provides the latest in nonsensical news and curdled current events. He lives in Maine and can hear the fog horns of three lighthouses when the fog rolls in.

  Rendell, Mike

  Mike Rendell is author of a book The Journal of a Georgian Gentleman, based on the array of diaries, journals, accounts—even shopping lists—left by his 4xgreat grandfather, Richard Hall. It tells the story of everyday life in the eighteenth century, seen through the eyes of his ancestor who had a haberdashery shop at Number One London Bridge.   Arthur Russell is a native of County Meath, Ireland. He is a professional in Agro-Industry and has worked in Ireland, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia. When he is not on assignments abroad, he lives with his family in Navan. His interests include history, especially local history, photography, and music. Morgallion, his first book, is a historic novel based on actual events during the Bruce Invasion of Ireland in 1315.

  Margaret Skea grew up in Ulster at the height of the “Troubles”, but now lives in Scotland.   St. John, Peter

  Peter St. John is best known for his six “Gang” books about children’s gangs during World War II. These novels spring from adventures in an English village as an evacuee from the London Blitz. Two other novels draw on his career as a chartered engineer in aerospace research, as well as from experience within parliamentary and governmental organizations. He lives in France where he is president of a cultural association.

  Swift, Deborah

  Deborah Swift is the author of The Lady’s Slipper, The Gilded Lily, and A Divided Inheritance (St Martins/Pan Macmillan). She used to work in the theatre and at the BBC as a set and costume designer, and later became a lecturer in theatre and art history. She took an MA in Creative Writing in 2007 and now divides her time between writing and teaching.   Sam Thomas teaches history at University School, an independent day school outside Cleveland, Ohio.   Vicary, Tim

  Tim Vicary is an author and teacher at the Norwegian Study Centre at the University of York, England. He’s written three crime/legal thrillers, three historical novels, two children’s books, and twenty graded readers for foreign learners of English in the Oxford Bookworms series. In 2010, one of these, Titanic, won in its category for the Language Learner Literature Award for the Extensive Reading Foundation, and another, The Everest Story, won the same prize in 2011.

  Brian Wainwright has had a deep interest in the Middle Ages for most of his life. His first published novel, The Adventures of Alianore Audley, was produced by way of light relief during a lull in the long task of researching and writing Within the Fetterlock, a novel born of his obsession with Constance of York.   Karen V.   A writer, teacher, and plumber, John Wheatley taught English for many years, then trained to fix boilers! He started writing novels when inspired by the story of the wreck of the Royal Charter on the coast of Anglesey.   Wilkin, David William

  Mr. Wilkin is a student of the English Regency. He has written several books in the genre. A student of history, Mr. Wilkin graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from UCLA. In later years he continued his studies after college and applied himself as a reenactor of history. Along with his research, he also has become a teacher of the dances of our bygone years. Look for scenes in all of his writings where dance plays a part.

  Wilson, Lynne

  Lynne Wilson is the author of several historical true crime books. Born in Stirling, Scotland, Lynne studied Chemistry at Edinburgh Napier University and worked mainly in scientific and research work.
