Fierce Awakenings Page 26

“Yes, we kill that bastard,” Armando hissed.

“Just try and see what will happen,” Ademar threatened.

“She has already chosen where and with whom she wants to be—” the elder started.

“Is that what you truly want?” Victor turned to her, staring hard as he tried to force his will on her. “To be with that man? To share immortality with a creature that’s so different from you?”

Victoria stared into her father’s eyes without blinking. “Yes.”

Tristan’s silent heart leaped happily inside his chest as she spoke out loud and proud.

“I love him.” Her voice went up a notch. “I know it’s hard for anyone to believe, but he makes me happy. I would much rather spend a lifetime with him than with a mate that will treat me as if I’m dirt under his shoes,” she declared.

Victor’s face turned a deep shade of scarlet. “I want you to choose, Victoria. Him or us? What will it be?”

Tristan tensed next to Ademar. To him, the answer was pretty obvious, but apparently Victor wasn’t ready to accept it yet.

“Will you honor your commitment to your kind? Or will you leave with that…that…him?”

Victoria glanced around the courtyard, eyeing those she grew up around. Though she would come to miss them, Tristan could still see the truth in her eyes.

“I have told you once and I will say it again, Father, I love Tristan and I wish to be by his side.” She sounded as self-assured as he’d ever heard her.

“You choose him over us?” Victor was barely able to contain his anger.

  Victoria’s response was a nod.

“Then you are hereby banished from the pack. You are never to set foot inside this territory ever again, not even to visit those who you once considered your friends. As of today you are dead to us and we are dead to you.”

Tristan watched the coldness with which the elder spoke, as if she had never been someone important to them at all. In spite of his resentment at the elder’s coolness, he admired the sereneness with which Victoria accepted her fate.

“Let it be known that Victoria Bonvalet is banished now and forever and if she ever sets foot inside this territory she will be killed,” the elder continued sentencing Victoria.

Tristan ached to approach Victoria and comfort her but he held his ground.

“You will never be accepted back into the pack, not even if your mate dies, for you have betrayed us by choosing to mate with our enemy. Victor, do you accept the sentence?”

“I do.” There was no compassion in the alpha’s eyes as he spoke, and because of this, Tristan knew that Victoria was now and forever dead to him.

The elder turned to her and asked, “Do you, Victoria?”

  “I do.”

“Then take your leave.” The elder gestured toward the vampires. “There is no need to spill blood on this day. She is yours, take her.”

Tristan opened his arms to embrace Victoria as she ran up to him and stepped within reach. She immediately returned the gesture by hugging his midsection and burying her face in his chest.

“I was so worried about you,” she cried.

Tristan planted a soft kiss on the top of her head, inhaling that alluring aroma he had come to miss in the few hours they had been separated. “You were about to be scarred for life and you were more worried about me?” he asked.

She drew back to look at him. “When I saw Danero and Tyrone drag you out of here I was so scared for you.”

Tristan smiled. “It was nothing a few pints of blood couldn’t fix.”

Satisfied with his answer, she smiled back. “Well, you do appear to be okay.”

“Now, we keep our word, we shall depart,” Ademar announced as he turned to leave.

Tristan and Victoria turned at the sound of Danero’s voice.

“Wait!” Danero hurried to Victoria. “Victoria, may I go with you?”

“Why would you want to do that?”

Danero smiled, glanced over her shoulder for a second or two before directing his attention back to Victoria.

“I’m not cut out for life with the pack. It gets really old, really quick,” he whispered so only she could hear him. “Besides, if you have no problem living with the enemy, then why would I?”

They both turned around slightly to see what was the object of Danero’s scrutiny and smiled at the sight of a nervous looking Catharina just a few paces behind them.

“I see.” She glanced up to look at Tristan. “It’s your home, what do you think?”

“It’s our home now,” Tristan responded. “I think it might be nice for you to be allowed to keep at least one of your friends.” His words eased a smile from her.

“I’d love that.” She turned to Danero and added, “You’d best behave yourself or I’ll give you a good thrashing.”

“Ah, now that you have permission to kick my ass you’re not going to let me live down my reputation, huh?”

Victoria shook her head. “Like I said, watch your back from now on.”

Danero laughed. “Once a princess, always a princess,” he muttered.

  “Danero, if you—”

“Yeah, yeah, I know.” Danero kept walking, not even pausing to glance over his shoulder at the elder yelling at him. “I am not banished, old man; I choose to leave of my own free will.”

Tristan draped an arm over Victoria’s shoulders and quietly walked away. Following Ademar’s lead, the entire army of vampires, plus Victoria and Danero hiked through the forest. Though the past twenty-four hours had been hectic, chaotic, and frenzied, Tristan was glad to have his eternal love back. He didn’t think they would make it on time to prevent a disaster but thanks to Ademar’s quick intervention, everything had turned out well.

Even when Tristan knew that this wasn’t the end of their problems, but just the beginning, he was willing to fight tooth and nail to keep his gift, because to him, Victoria was the culmination of years and years of living in solitude. She was his present and future. She was the one thing he could actually look forward to from now on.

The trio followed Ademar and the rest of the vampires through the woods as they made their way to the cars that were parked a mile or so down the road and Tristan pulled her even closer to his body.

“Well, it’s official now.” Tristan leaned down to plant a kiss on her lips.

“I don’t know about you, but it’s been official for a while now,” she said.

“You’re right,” he said. “But now we can start the path to eternity together without much worry.” Well, that was a huge understatement, but he didn’t want to dwell on the negative. He was looking forward to the beauty of sharing his existence with her. The rest didn’t matter anymore.

“Eternity is a long time, Tristan,” she teased.

“It’s not long enough for me.”

  Chapter Thirty-Seven

Victoria turned off the bathroom light, pulled the door shut, and smiled at the sight of a very aroused Tristan lying flat on his back, watching her. Turned on herself, she sashayed over to him, rocking her hips from side to side in a way she knew drove him mad with desire. The grin on his face served to confirm her belief.

In the two months since she had left the Bonvalet pack to start an eternal life with Tristan, she realized that she had never been happier. For the first six weeks since they left, Tristan had taken her to countries such as Morocco, Egypt, Russia, Canada, and even Thailand, which she had gotten to see and explore to her heart’s content. One advantage of his unique ability was the fact that he could teleport their bodies to anywhere he wanted. And his first order of business after that entire ordeal with the vampires and the near fatal mating with Armando was to take her on a honeymoon of sorts.

They spent a week in each country, visiting, browsing, enjoying the variety of other cultures and then they spent an entire week in their room in Paris, making love until they were near exhaustion.

“How is Danero doing?” Tristan asked while eyeing the way her c
leavage was revealed in her silk nightgown as she crawled onto the bed. Her bare breasts were slightly exposed, providing him with an amazing view from his angle.

“Well, he’s not having as much success as he would like, but he is one persistent puppy,” she replied.

“I’m quite surprised he hasn’t come back with his tail tucked between his legs, begging behind you as if he was attached to you,” Tristan remarked.

Victoria’s puckered her brow. “Oh, do I detect jealousy?”

Tristan scoffed. “Why should I be?”

“That’s right, you shouldn’t. Danero is my best friend, he knows his place.” Victoria crawled up his legs, allowing her hair to caress his skin as she moved up his body. “Besides, I’m pretty sure he’s too busy chasing Catharina around.”

“If he’s not careful, one day he’s going to find himself with a face full of sharp claws.”

Victoria laughed. “Like that would keep him away.”

  “It might.”

“Would it keep you away from me?” she asked seductively.

“No, but he’s not me.” He sucked in his breath when she straddled his hips and used her teeth to pinch his right nipple. “And Catharina is not you.”

“She’s just playing hard to get.”

“Probably.” He jerked his body to the side when she nipped at his left nipple, sucking at it softly before tugging at it with her teeth. “She might not like the idea of bedding a werewolf.”

“You know she likes him.” Victoria sat up and started running her fingers over his chest. “Besides, bedding a werewolf isn’t so bad.”

  “Not for me.”

“I’ve seen the way she looks at him.” She ground her hips on his, rotating them in a circular motion as her fingers wandered over his muscled chest, caressing and touching as they explored every ripple and every crevice. Their sex rubbed against each other, with only a thin layer of cloth achingly separating one from the other. Victoria watched him close his eyes and sigh heavily. “It’s the same look you give me.”

  “Is that right?”

  “Yes.”

“So, ah, do you think…she will…fall for that puppy face?” He smiled when she moved off of him long enough to remove his boxer briefs, her panties and nightgown, and then positioned herself back on his hips, straddling them.

“Give it a month or two and he’ll have her chasing after him.” Victoria leaned down, pressed her bare breasts to his chest, and kissed him. He moaned as she rubbed her wet folds over his hard shaft. After a moment, she drew back and said, “Who knows, maybe in six months we’ll be celebrating another unusual mating.”

  “Maybe you’re right.”

Victoria continued to grind her lower body on Tristan’s as his hands started to explore her bare back and buttocks. She was thrilled that he was finally touching her. His touch always had a way of turning her blood to liquid fire. There wasn’t an area on his upper torso where she hadn’t landed a kiss, nipped, or suckled. In a few seconds she had him panting heavily and trying to find the entrance to her hidden cave.

“Now who’s the eager one?” She smiled when he frowned.

Wet and aching for him, Victoria lifted her bottom and moved up until she could feel the tip of his engorged phallus seeking entrance. As soon as their lower bodies were aligned, she dropped down, impaling herself on his hard shaft. They both groaned and stopped to savor the feel of their joined bodies. It was the best sensation in the world, and if she were to ask him, he’d probably agree with her.

After a few seconds of waiting, Victoria set the pace, arching her back as she rocked her body forward and backwards, lifting her body until only the tip of his cock remained inside and then dropping down suddenly.

Her eyes rolled to the back of her head when Tristan cupped her buttocks and increased the pace, efficiently pummeling his hard shaft in and out of her with long, leisurely thrusts. She pushed her breasts forward, pressing them into his chest so that his rough skin would rub against her nipples as they rocked against each other. The friction drove them both mad with lust and desire.

“More Tristan!” she screamed. “I want more!”

Victoria moaned in delight when his hands gripped her hips and pushed her up slightly, holding her in place as his own hips lifted off the bed and succeeded in setting the perfect rhythm by plunging hard into her. She actually had to grip his forearms to keep from toppling over. She watched, almost hypnotically, as his long cock plummeted home over and over again. The look of concentration on Tristan’s face nearly sent her over the edge.

He was quite literally rocking her world and she loved every second of it. Victoria’s insides tightened and she became instantly aware of how close she was to the climax she was desperately seeking. With Tristan working his magic over her there was no way she could last much longer and when his thrusts came so fast they were almost violent, she exploded. Her loud screams of pleasure resonated loud inside the bedroom as her release came and overpowered her, taking her to the sky in a light, fluffy cloud.

As soon as she climaxed, Tristan shifted positions so that she lay on her back, all while keeping himself embedded deep within her as came up onto his knees. He brought her legs up and draped them over his shoulders, increasing his rhythmic tempo. His ferocious, almost animalistic thrusts ripped another gut twisting orgasm from her before he finally stiffened and emptied his seed deep within her tight canal.

Moments later, they lay panting, locked in each other’s arms.

“An eternity of that, huh?” Victoria was able to say once her breathing had calmed down enough so that she could speak without effort. “I think I like this way of life a lot.”

Tristan chuckled. “Yeah, well, we might have to build a sound proof bedroom if you continue screaming like that.”

“We might have to build a sound proof house then,” she teased. “I plan to let you have your way with me in every corner of the house if possible.”

“Oh, I’m sure I can arrange that.”

Victoria smiled contentedly as Tristan planted soft kisses on her cheeks, forehead, chin, lips and neck. Being with him exceeded her expectations and she had realized a long time ago that she would never want to be anywhere else. As long as they were together she was happy and overcome with joy. Nothing else mattered but their love and union.

“You make me the happiest person alive.” She tried to stifle a yawn.

“Well, then I’m the luckiest man on earth. Not only do I get to put a smile on your face for the rest of eternity, but you make me the happiest I’ve been in over a thousand years.”

He reached out for her, pulling her close to him.

  “I love you, Tristan.”

  “And I love you.”

Wrapped in the arms of her mate, Victoria closed her eyes and fell into a deep, contented sleep, where her dreams were filled with images of the man by her side.
