“It doesn’t matter. I don’t want to talk about it now, or ever again. But seeing those comments was one of the reasons I didn’t want to go the gym anymore. I wondered if you had seen the comments too, since some of those people were your friends.”
“I’ve never heard of it, but I’m going to find it now. I have some comments for those jerks.”
She grabbed his arm. “No. Please don’t. I’ve put that stuff behind me, and I don’t want to make a big deal out of it now. I only told you because I didn’t want you to think I was being rude to your friend for no reason.”
Abe took a deep breath and blew it out slowly. “Fine. But I’m going to do something to let those idiots know that you’re my woman and I love you.”
He took Lizzy’s hands and led her to the living room. He motioned Ray to join them. “I want to get some pictures of all of us together in our costumes.”
There were only a half-dozen people in the living room, so it was easy to spot Rita. He handed her his phone. “Could you take the picture for us?”
She nodded and waited for them to pose. “You guys looks so great together. Lizzy, you are so lucky to have two fiancés like Abe and Ray.”
Ray kissed Lizzy on the mouth, then said to Rita, “We’re lucky to have a fiancé like her. She has to put up with all of our shenanigans.”
Abe kissed Lizzy too and then smiled at Rita. “Could you take a few more? I want to be sure that I have a lot of choices for my Facebook profile picture.”
Rita’s smile faltered for a minute, and Abe smirked. He was going to respect Lizzy’s wishes, but he wanted to rub their relationship in everyone’s face.
He didn’t care what anyone had to say about him and his mate. He was happy and couldn’t ask for more. They were going to have a great party and an even greater life together. Let those internet haters post about them all day. It wasn’t going to change a thing.
No one and nothing was going to get between them again. Mean girls on social media and misunderstanding be damned. He would never let anything tear him from his mate again.
